Chapter Index

The school entrance ceremony that started after the vacation was a sight I had never seen before.

Of course, I had seen it a few times in Rain’s comic books, but experiencing it first-hand was a different feeling.

When Shine, Rain, and I entered school, we did so thanks to our grandfather’s help, so there wasn’t such a grand ceremony.

Young children were walking into the huge auditorium, holding their parents’ hands and looking very nervous.

Although it was formally called an entrance ceremony, this huge event had a strong social aspect.

It means that it is a good opportunity to become friends with other good families.

In fact, parents were exchanging contact information with each other and having their children introduce themselves.

    But that wasn’t our goal.

Amy and I headed straight to the principal’s office to meet Shandroy.

“Welcome. I’ve been waiting for you.”

There was a large pile of papers in front of Shandroy’s desk, and when he glanced at them, he saw that they all contained brief personal information about the new students.

Amy took it in stride and began to look through it.

“There are quite a lot of them this time.”

As Amy said, the stack of papers was quite thick.

The reason Amy came here was to get this new information.

Because this school was so famous, it seemed like every year there were people who went undercover and hid their identities.

Amy was doing the work of categorizing those people.

Because of her Baekwang trait, she said that she could detect hallucinations that deceive others’ eyes, or doppelgangers who can change their appearance, as not all abilities worked on her.

Shine, Rain, and I had to stick close to Amy in case something happened.

“Please take care of me this time too.”

Leaving Shandroy’s words behind, we headed to the auditorium.

Amy climbs to the highest point of the auditorium and begins to look at the new students.

I too began to look around with my eyes wide open to see if there was anyone suspicious.

    The colorful heads shake cutely.

These new students look quite cute…

I nodded, remembering the students with striking appearances.

At the same time, Shine, who was observing the students next to me, pinched my cheek.

    “Eueee-”

“I told you to look out for suspicious people.”

I nodded to Shine’s words and rubbed my eyes.

Then Shine let go of my cheek with a small sigh.

Judging from the slight tingling sensation, it seemed like he had pinched me quite hard.

I touched my cheek and looked down again.

“I found one. Student A, 11th in row. Yes, that boy. Grab him and drag him away at the same time as his parents. ”

At that moment, Amy’s calm voice was heard.

I shook my head and looked in the direction Amy had said.

The short boy standing in line looked innocent, but after hearing Amy’s words, he looked really suspicious.

The guards, under Amy’s direction, approached the boy and carefully guided him aside.

He followed the guard with an expression on his face as if he knew nothing.

    “Jeff. Get ready.”

    “Yes.”

I ran to Amy’s direction and hung on to the window in the wall.

Outside the window, there were people who appeared to be students and their parents who had been called out by the guards.

I made a pistol shape with my fingers and aimed it at them.

    “Baby.”

    Phagejik-

Little Amy followed my instructions and loaded a small bullet into her head.

Preparation for a very powerful thunderbolt that can paralyze the body.

If Amy gives her the order, this tingling Thunderbolt will fall on them.

And at that moment, the faces of the people who appeared to be the parents suddenly blurred and changed into the faces of other people.

It seemed like he had used an item that could hide his identity.

    “Jeff.”

    “Net!”

    Amy’s signal was dropped.

    I fired the Thunderbolt immediately.

A small ball is shot out with a whoosh and flies quickly before crashing into the ground.

    Phagecic-!

The ball emitted light with a faint sound, as if a small firecracker had exploded, engulfing those nearby.

They seem unprepared for the sudden attack and just fall down.

The young student also collapsed and showed a pitiful sight, but this was a mission.

Those who fell were dragged away by the guards to a place out of sight.

Now they will not rest until they spit out information under severe torture.

Amy’s nomination boasted a 100 percent success rate.

The number of students arrested like that exceeded 20.

I opened my mouth wide at the sight of their numbers, which were beyond imagination.

“Are these all people from the research lab?”

    “That’s not it.”

I was startled by Amy’s words, my eyes widening and I asked her back.

“So you’re saying there are other organizations that are hostile to us?”

“Um… That’s not it. To be exact, it has to do with your grandfather.”

    “Grandpa?”

“Yeah. There are quite a lot this year, maybe because of you guys?”

    “Me, us? Shine and me?”

    “Yeah.”

I looked at Shine for a long time at Amy’s words.

What does that have to do with me and Shine?

    Amy quickly answered my questions.

“Your grandfather has quite a few enemies.”

    “Enemy!”

“Yeah. They send people like this every year to somehow get information about your grandfather. I guess they thought that if they became friends with you, they would naturally be able to get a lot of information. ”

    “I see!”

Amy’s words made me suspect Appleton and Pippi, but I quickly shook my head and shook the thought away.

Those two were kids I became close with because I approached them first.

“Appleton and Pippi are just normal kids.”

    “That’s fortunate…”

Amy spoke as if she knew my concerns.

I breathed a sigh of relief at her words.

If Appleton or Pippi had approached me to get information about my grandfather, I would have been very disappointed in them.

    Oath!

At that moment, the student who had climbed up onto the stage shouted loudly.

It seemed like the freshman representative was about to come out and begin his speech.

    “Two people?”

There were two unusual students who came forward as representatives.

Doesn’t only one person usually come up? I tilted my head, wondering that, and then I realized that the two people looked quite similar.

    Twins.

A pretty girl with black hair and red eyes.

A handsome boy with a similar vibe to that girl.

The two boys and girls exchanged glances and then slowly opened their mouths.

They were the first twins I had ever seen other than Shine and me.

I felt strange and swung my legs while hanging on the railing.

    “They’re twins too.”

Shine, who had been fiddling with her phone with an uninterested expression on her face as she listened to what I said, raised her head and looked down.

At that moment, the freshman oath ended, and the two bowed their heads to the students in front of them.

And immediately after that, my eyes met with those of the two people who had raised their heads.

Clearly they were looking at this place.

As I covered my mouth in embarrassment, the girl’s red eyes slightly opened and she smiled at me.

    “Gasp…”

The moment I saw that sight, I took a deep breath and stepped down from the railing.

My heart wasn’t in good condition.

I couldn’t see her exact appearance because she was far away, but her smiling eyes gave off a similar vibe to Shine.

“Today is the end. Everyone worked hard.”

Amy said, getting up from her chair and stretching.

It seemed like no one was hiding their identity anymore.

“Can all three of you have fun today?”

Amy looked at me, Shine, and Rain and said.

We stood side by side and nodded to her words.

Now we are in the 6th grade.

It meant that he was an adult enough.

“Amy. School isn’t a place to play. It’s a place to study.”

    I said, correcting Amy’s mistakes.

My slightly protruding chest and my hands on my waist expressed my confidence.

Amy let out a small laugh at that smug look.

So Amy and I parted ways and headed to class.

There was no need for self-introductions since the same kids I saw in the 5th grade came to the 6th grade classroom.

Although it was a new classroom, it felt familiar.

I led Shine and Rain to Appleton, who was waiting for us.

Appleton, who had been chatting with other students, jumped up from his seat and opened his arms in greeting as we approached.

    “Jeff!”

    “Appleton!”

Since we hadn’t seen each other during the vacation, we were very happy to see each other.

As we were rubbing our cheeks while embracing each other, Shine let out a small sigh and pushed Appleton away from me.

    “Shine!”

    Appleton embraced that shine too.

    Shine reluctantly accepted Appleton’s hug.

Was puberty coming? Appleton’s personality was changing a lot.

The distance between friends has decreased significantly, and physical contact has become less hesitant.

Appleton, who was hugging and rubbing Shine, also hugged Lane, who was looking at him with expectant eyes.

Lane smiled happily and hugged Appleton.

After our greetings, we started talking about what we did during the last vacation.

Appleton was the first to start.

    “I went on a trip!”

    “Travel?”

“Yeah. If you look at this picture…”

Appleton showed photos of the places he had traveled to.

The sight of the snow-covered mountains sparkling in the sunlight is so beautiful that exclamations flow from my mouth.

It seemed like she had been to the snow-covered mountains during her vacation.

    “Where have you been?”

I bit my lip at Appleton’s question.

I traveled to quite a few places during last vacation.

Not for the purpose of travel, but for the purpose of a mission.

It was out of the question for Appleton to tell him about his mission experiences.

    “I went to my grandfather’s.”

“Grandpa? Are you talking about Ferman?”

    “Yeah.”

At that time, it was Shine who saved me from my troubles.

    I nodded to her words.

Certainly, I once went to Grandfather Perman’s castle and spent three days during the vacation.

It was a very short period of time, but it was a really happy memory.

And at that moment, I could recall the words my grandfather had spoken to me over dinner.

You said you wanted to see Appleton, my friend and Shine’s friend.

“That’s right! Grandpa said that. He wants to see you, Appleton. So next time, come hang out with us.”

    “Hic-”

Appleton’s eyes widened in surprise at my words.

I tilted my head at her reaction.

Why would something like this come as a surprise when all I’m doing is inviting my close friend to my house?

“P, did Mr. Ferman say that?”

    Appleton asked me, stammering.

    I nodded to her words.

    “Really? Really?”

“Yeah. Really. Grandpa wanted to see you.”

Appleton swallowed dryly, his face pale and disgusted at my words.

In her face, the image of her fifth grade days, now gone, came to mind.
