Chapter Index

The next day, I tried searching the Internet for information, but I couldn’t find what I wanted.

Eventually, I decided to develop my own abilities.

When do the team members working at this headquarters have the most free time?

    The correct answer was lunchtime.

After quickly eating my lunch, I took a small notebook out of my pocket.

The notebook, decorated with lots of pretty stickers, sparkled under the bright lights illuminating the surrounding area.

“Shine. Looks like Jeff’s up to something again.”

    “Yeah. I know.”

Rain and Shine also followed behind me.

    I told both of them.

“I need to start gathering information now. Both of you help me.”

    “What information?”

As someone who uses lightning, what do I need to develop another ability?

I needed the experience and know-how of other capable people.

At least, that’s what I thought.

I needed information about how it felt to use the ability, and how it was enhanced.

I explained to Rain and Shine the information I needed.

But after hearing what I said, the two tilted their heads and asked back.

“What would Jeff do with that?”

    “That’s right.”

    “I will develop my abilities.”

    “Skill development?”

I whispered quietly, watching Victor and Amy eating from a distance.

“Actually, I think there’s a secret to my ability.”

    “Secret?”

    “Yeah.”

Rain’s eyes began to sparkle at the word secret.

Unlike Rain, who started to show interest, Shine’s reaction was lukewarm.

    “What’s the secret?”

“I don’t know about that either. I’ll just give it a try. You’ll help me, right?”

It wasn’t easy to gather information from everyone alone.

At least if Rain and Shine help me, I’ll be able to get more information than if I did it alone.

I took out a notebook identical to mine and handed it to both of them.

“From now on, we’ll spread out, gather information, and write down the information there.”

    “How much should I do?”

“As much as possible! As long as it’s until lunchtime is over.”

“Okay! Jeff asked me to do it, so I’ll do it!”

Rain smiled brightly at my words and nodded.

She bounced away, holding the notebook I had given her close to her heart.

“Are you going to shine too?”

    “No.”

    “in…”

    Shine flatly rejected my request.

I was very taken aback by Shine’s reaction, which she usually didn’t show.

Shine smiled slightly as she looked at me, then slowly approached me and whispered.

“I want to go with Jeff.”

A softly extended hand grabbed my hand and pulled me toward it.

As I flinched at the distance that had become so close, Shine’s laughter grew louder.

“Come on, don’t joke around. I’m a little surprised.”

“Did you think I’d reject you?”

    “Yeah…”

“I never turn down a request from Jeff.”

I bowed my head and kept my mouth shut at Shine’s words.

As we ended up hanging out together, we started looking for the person who seemed the most relaxed.

The first target was a quiet woman sitting on a sofa in the shelter reading a book.

I approached her slowly so as not to startle her, and tapped the book.

    “… Huh?”

    “Hello?”

Overall, he had a gentle-looking appearance.

The woman’s slightly droopy eyes twitch.

“Oh. Hi? It’s Jeff and Shine.”

    I nodded to her words.

    “Why is that?”

“I came here to ask you something.”

As I said that, I picked up my notebook and held a pen in my other hand.

The tip of the pen had a shiny plastic star attached to it.

    “What are you curious about?”

“What kind of abilities do you have?”

“What kind of survey are you doing? I have telekinesis.”

As she spoke, the woman lifted the book she was holding into the air.

The book that floated up, defying gravity, showed that she was definitely a telekinetic.

“How are you feeling about using your abilities right now?”

    “What does it feel like?”

“There are times when you use your abilities, right? Like applying strength to something. Or focusing on something. ”

The woman tilted her head in confusion at my words.

“I’ve never really thought about it that way before. Isn’t it a skill to be able to use it as naturally as breathing?”

“But, don’t you feel anything right now?”

    “Hmm… A little drowsy?”

I wrote down what she said in my notebook.

    Using telekinesis makes you drowsy.

“But I think it’s because I just had lunch?”

I revised the contents of the notebook according to her words.

Tick Tick – A line is drawn over the letters.

    “What’s the different feeling?”

    “Ugh…”

The woman closed her eyes and crossed her arms, seeming deep in thought at my question.

I looked up at the woman with great anticipation.

But she soon shook her head and answered.

“I don’t really know, Jeff. Could you explain to someone how to use their powers?”

    “Yes!”

I answered the woman’s question confidently.

    “Then will you tell me?”

“Okay. First, I have to do some tingling.”

    “Tingling?”

“Yes, I am an electric power user. I have to wake up the power inside my body by tingling it.”

    “What next?”

“Then I coax them and lead them in the direction I want. Then I fire them as I want and use my powers.”

The woman who was listening to my explanation nodded and applauded.

I puffed out my chest and placed my hands on my hips.

“You can explain it like this.”

“Umm… Is that really an okay explanation?”

    “Yes! That’s even better.”

    “Okay.”

The woman nodded and slowly opened her mouth.

“First, you have to catch it with your eyes and fix it.”

Grab it with your eyes… and hold it… in place…

The small hand holding the pen moves diligently.

The handwriting that Amy had diligently corrected had a cute, round appearance.

“Then, it moves by making a whoosh and a whoosh.”

    Swoosh… Boosh… Move…

The woman closed her mouth after saying those words.

I waited for her mouth to open without putting down my pen, wondering if there was more to say, but I could not hear any further explanation.

“Is this the end? By any chance, what methods did you use to train your abilities?”

“Yeah, it’s a shame, but this is the end. It wasn’t much different from what I told you when you were training your abilities.”

I bowed my head and greeted him, closing my notebook.

    “Thank you.”

    “Any other questions?”

    “Yes.”

    “Yeah.”

After parting ways with the woman, I sat down in a suitable place and looked through Shine and my notebook.

Shine frowned as if she found what I wrote in my notebook strange.

“Can Jeff see something in this?”

“Yeah. I think I know how it feels.”

    “Really?”

    “Yeah.”

It goes whoosh and then boosh.

Maybe this information would strengthen my abilities.

I marked the importance of each page with glitter stickers.

Swoosh was about the size of five sparkles.

Shine and I spent our lunch break walking around and gathering information.

Most people have a hard time describing what it feels like to use their powers, but when I give them an example, they can give me a similar description.

    Just as it is.

    A feeling of feeling.

    Sensual sense.

This is exactly what I wanted.

The notebook, completed in this way, needed a very important mark.

I took out the sticker set that was in my pocket and stuck the SD Lucy sticker on the front of the notebook.

A sparkly notebook with dozens of stickers attached.

As I smiled in satisfaction at that pretty sight, a small shadow appeared in front of me.

    “Jeff.”

    “Oops.”

The shadow that came in front of me was Shine’s.

She took something wrapped in plastic from her pocket and handed it to me.

What I received by chance took the form of a sticker.

    “Sticker?”

    “Yeah. It was custom-made.”

    “Uh, when?”

“Since when Appleton took the picture?”

The stickers that Shine custom-made had pictures of me, Shine, and Rain.

As I was blankly staring at the stickers, Shine whispered softly in my ear.

“I mean, stickers to stick on a notebook. Don’t you think this would be better than that witch?”

Shine’s finger slowly reached out and pointed to a sticker with her image on it.

Shine’s secret gaze looked at the Lucy sticker in my notebook.

    “Uh, yeah…”

Silence falls between me and Shine.

Shine looked at the Lucy sticker without saying anything.

Not glaring, but with her usual expression.

    But the atmosphere was heavy.

I swallowed dryly, reached out, and ripped off the Lucy sticker stuck to my notebook.

    “Should I paste this?”

    “Ah, yeah… I think this is prettier…”

    “I’ll paste it for you.”

Before I could answer, Shine took her notebook and put her sticker on the front.

A shine sticker was stuck where Lucy was supposed to be.

    “You’ve become prettier, right?”

Shine smiled brightly and handed me a notebook.

The Shine Sticker in the notebook always had the same expressionless face as me, but for some reason, just like she said, it looked prettier than the Lucy Sticker.

As I was absentmindedly fiddling with my notebook, Shine snatched away the Lucy sticker I had taken out.

    “Oops.”

As I watched Lucy moving away, I unconsciously reached out my hand. Shine tilted his head and asked.

    “Why?”

    “That, that…”

Why do I feel so regretful?

I got a Shine sticker that’s prettier than the Lucy sticker.

But I still couldn’t shake the feeling of regret.

As I was looking at the stickers and biting my lip, Shine smiled and said.

    “Paste it somewhere else?”

    “Yeah…”

She gave me back the sticker.

Eventually, the sticker ended up on a dinosaur water bottle that he always carried around with him.

Lucy, who was stuck on the large dinosaur’s belly, was as pretty as expected.

As I was fiddling with the Lucy sticker with a satisfied smile, Shine grabbed my hand and got up from her seat.

“Lunch time will be over soon. I should go to Rain.”

    right.

I forgot that I had asked Lane.

Shine and I hurried back to the place we had promised to meet, and found Rain dozing off on the soft sofa, holding a notebook in his hand.

How long have I been waiting for this?

    “Rain.”

    “Ugh…”

When I poked the sleeping Rain’s cheek, she bit her lip and flicked her tongue.

I quickly withdrew my hand because I felt like my finger would get sucked if I continued like this.

    “Are you awake?”

    “Yeah…”

Rain, who got up with a yawn, handed me the notebook he was holding.

“Okay. That’s what I asked you to do.”

    “Thank you!”

I smiled as I checked the notebook I had returned to Lane.

Thanks to Rain’s help, I was able to get more information than I expected.

To this extent, it could be of sufficient help in developing my abilities.

“Can you do me a favor later too?”

    “Of course!”

    I nodded to Rain’s question.

Rain was my precious friend and family member, so I would do anything for her.
