Chapter Index

    “Are you still angry?”

I turned my head away, ignoring Amy’s words.

How could you do this to me?

I was in such shock that I couldn’t get out of it.

    “Jeff, try this.”

I took a sip of the jelly Shine put in my mouth, then spat it out after looking at Amy.

    “Tsk.”

The jelly fell with a thud and rolled on the floor.

Shine picked it up and put it in her mouth.

I couldn’t vent my anger with something like jelly.

Amy just smiled awkwardly at me.

The time on my phone screen was past 11 p.m.

It meant that quite some time had passed since they arrived here.

    “The mission is over!”

    “Umm…”

“While Shine and I were sleeping, we couldn’t do anything!”

I jumped up from my seat and shouted.

    This was impossible.

Amy, didn’t you promise me that all the missions would be finished while you were sleeping?

He said he would wake me up before the mission started.

If you had found the lab, you should have woken me up.

A lot of words bubble up inside me and then disappear.

As I stood there grumbling alone, Shine shoved the jelly into my mouth again.

My mouth naturally tried to accept the jelly, but I refused it.

He then spats out the jelly that had entered his mouth again.

    “T-”

Shine picked up the fallen jelly and ate it again.

It would have been strange if it had been shiny and covered in saliva, but she ate it without changing her expression.

“Did you really want to go on a mission like that?”

    “Yes!”

“But it was a very dangerous mission, wasn’t it?”

    “I’m a team member too.”

I turned my head away again at Amy’s words, expressing how upset I was right now.

She looked at me and let out a small sigh.

    “Jeff?”

    “Yes.”

“How did you act in the last mission?”

I rolled my eyes at Amy’s words and slowly opened my mouth.

“Ma, when are you going to steal the mind stone?”

    “Before that.”

    “That…”

    “You acted recklessly, didn’t you?”

    “That’s…”

Amy walked over to me slowly and hugged me while I was pretending to be upset.

She sat on the soft sofa, placed me on her lap, and rested her chin on my head.

It was a little heavy, but not uncomfortable.

    “Yes…”

“What happened because you acted so recklessly?”

    “It’s getting dangerous.”

“That’s right. It got dangerous. But I didn’t say anything after the mission was over because I wanted you to realize your mistake yourself.”

Amy spoke quietly and pressed her chin against my head.

I accepted it all quietly, without avoiding it.

    Amy continued speaking.

“Next. Shall we talk about the time when the Mind Stone was stolen?”

Amy’s hand moved slowly and cupped my face.

Her soft cheeks were distorted and her expression could not help but change as her hands moved.

The tips of both fingers slightly lift the corners of the mouth.

A smile appeared on my face.

“I wasn’t there at the time, so I don’t know the details. But it was a very wrong thing to use the ability and collapse. What if we hadn’t found it sooner, if the evil researchers who were conducting human experiments had found it first? ”

“Did you get dragged back to the lab?”

“You knew that and still acted like that?”

I kept my mouth shut at Amy’s words.

    I had nothing to say.

    “Jeff.”

    “Yes.”

“What if I get in danger?”

“That would be really worrying. It would be really scary. And I think it would be sad.”

“Me too. I get so scared when you’re in danger. What if something happens? What if you get hurt? Those kinds of thoughts fill my head.”

Amy moved her hands and gently hugged my waist.

I was swept away by her body, flailing my arms and legs.

    “Shh, stay still.”

    “Ugh…”

“What would you have done if I told you that this mission was too dangerous and you couldn’t go? Be honest with me?”

I rolled my eyes at Amy’s words.

I hadn’t really thought about it, but if that had happened, I’m sure I would have snuck out of headquarters with Shine.

“Oh, I guess he snuck out. To help Victor and Lane.”

Amy hugged me tighter at my answer.

My head is buried in the large chest I feel at the back of my neck.

“If Jeff becomes as strong as Victor and doesn’t collapse after using his powers, then I won’t stop him.”

Amy’s words brought to mind Victor’s image.

Although I was always training through sparring, I had never beaten him even once.

To Amy, I was just an unreliable child.

They were not seen as someone to be protected, but as a team that could be entrusted with the same responsibility as Victor.

I was sad, but I couldn’t say anything because it was true.

“I don’t want Jeff to be in danger either.”

Shine came over to Amy’s side and put another jelly in my mouth.

This time I didn’t spit it out.

He chewed the jelly, his mouth agape.

Then, Shine, who had been holding her hand out in front of my mouth, opened her eyes wide in surprise.

    “I won’t spit it out.”

I turned my head away, flicking my tongue at Shine.

    Shine wasn’t angry at Amy.

When Amy woke us up late, she nodded as if she understood Amy’s actions.

I was jealous of Shine’s attitude, which seemed mature, unlike me.

As she was mumbling like that, Shine’s fingers moved quickly.

A straight finger pierced through the lips and snatched the jelly off the tongue in an instant.

And then he just puts it in his mouth?

As I stood there with my mouth open in amazement at her absurd behavior, I gave her some new jelly.

If it was going to be like this, why did you take it out? I wondered if it was eaten, and stared blankly at Shine.

“Shine. You’re not stealing from your little brother.”

“Yeah. But it tastes better when you steal it.”

Shine nodded at Amy’s nagging and hopped away.

I looked at the sight and asked Amy.

“Will you stop the mission next time if it’s dangerous?”

    “Yeah. That’ll do.”

    “Above, if it’s not dangerous?”

    “I’ll go with you.”

It didn’t mean that you couldn’t go out at all.

Still, a sigh of relief escapes me at the fact that I can help Amy.

    “Jeff.”

    “Huh?”

Amy reached out and took both of my hands in hers, moving them around as she spoke.

    I felt like a doll.

“Should I just go to Grandpa Perman?”

“Are you just going to send me and Shine?”

    Amy didn’t answer me.

I continued to say to Amy,

“I’ll be by Amy’s side. I’m not going anywhere.”

Amy hugged me at my words.

Although I was out of breath, I did not refuse her embrace.

    ***

It was just past one in the morning when Victor and Rain returned from their mission.

Thanks to Amy, I was able to sleep a lot and watch TV without falling asleep even at dawn.

Victor and Lane looked fine, without a single scratch.

It was as if he had gone out for a night walk.

    “Amy!”

As soon as Lane saw Amy, he ran to her and clung to her leg.

The little mouth starts chattering incessantly and starts to criticize Victor.

Amy accepted Lane’s words as if she was used to it.

I approached Victor, who was resting and soothing his tired body.

    “Victor.”

    “Why?”

    “Please increase the training intensity.”

Victor’s gaze lingered on me for a long time before turning to Amy.

He nodded as if he roughly understood the situation.

    “Is it because of Amy?”

“Yes! Amy said. She said I can’t send you on a dangerous mission until you’re as strong as Victor.”

    “Today’s mission was particularly dangerous.”

    “Uh, how much?”

    “Beyond imagination.”

Victor said this and leaned back on the sofa, stretching out his legs.

I wanted to hear more about this mission, but he kept his mouth shut, as if he didn’t want to say anything more.

“Victor. I need to get stronger. Please increase my training volume.”

“No. If you stretch it any further, your body will be ruined.”

I bit my lip at Victor’s words.

I was so upset that no one seemed to understand my feelings.

“If you wait, you will get stronger on your own.”

“Uh, how long do I have to wait?”

    “About 5 years?”

    “It’s too long.”

Victor closed his eyes, not wanting to talk any longer.

I glared at Victor and then walked over to Lane, who was whining at Amy.

“So, so, that’s what I’m saying. That bad guy Victor. He stole the chocolate I was trying to eat secretly…”

    “Rain!”

    “Oh. Jeff.”

I started to rip off the rope that was stuck to Amy’s leg and drag her to a corner.

At first, Rain seemed flustered, but soon, as if something occurred to him, he blushed and began to twist his body this way and that.

“Hey, hey. Isn’t this too fast? Amy’s watching too…”

Ignoring Rain’s incomprehensible words, I grabbed her shoulder and asked.

“Can Rain fight on equal terms with Victor?”

“Uh… If you use your ability, then yes…”

“Then can you help me with my training?”

    “Training?”

“Yeah. I want to increase the intensity of my training, but Victor said no.”

Rain’s gaze turned to Victor and then back.

    “No.”

    “… Why?”

    “Victor said so.”

I was very taken aback by Lane’s answer.

Because I never thought that Rain, who I expected to naturally accept, would refuse.

    “Rain, Rain is my teacher!”

    “S, Master!”

Rain’s gaze wavers greatly at my words.

Okay. If he pushed just a little bit more, it was clear that Rain wouldn’t be able to refuse.

“Jeff. It’s too late. I should go to bed now.”

As I was shaking Lane’s shoulders, Amy came up behind me and hugged me, saying:

I screamed, writhing in her arms.

“Ah! I’m not sleepy yet! I slept a lot earlier, so it’s okay if I don’t sleep!”

“But if you lie down in bed, you will fall asleep.”

    “Okay, wait a minute! Master!”

I reached out to Rain, who was getting further and further away, but I couldn’t reach him.

Rain looked at me with wavering eyes and then turned his head away.

I was dragged to Amy, shivering with a sense of great betrayal.

How can I get strong quickly?

After arriving at my room, I took a shower and started searching on my phone.

    Search for… ways… to… become… stronger.

    How to… train…

    Danjeon…making…

    New… superpower…

    Animation training method…

“Jeff. What are you looking at?”

    “Gasp.”

I was startled by Shine’s voice and hid my phone behind my back.

Shine, who had just finished showering, was dripping wet with only a white towel around her neck.

She was looking at my phone with a curious expression.

    “Show me too.”

    “Oh, no!”

Avoid reaching forward with wet hands.

I stepped back from Shine and looked behind her.

Shine, seemingly unaware of Amy’s presence, began to approach me with her arms spread wide.

    “Yep!”

The moment Shine reached out to me, Amy’s arm caught Shine.

    “Oops.”

Shine struggled to get out of Amy’s arms, but she couldn’t get out of Amy’s hands.

Amy’s hands entangled Shine’s limbs in strange directions, preventing her from moving, as she twisted her body here and there.

“Shine. When did you get out? You need to dry your hair properly. The floor is a mess again.”

Shine was so drawn to Amy.

I started searching again, watching the two people moving away.
