Chapter Index

“Did you just say it’s a giant wild boar?”

“Laurent, do you have any idea what it might be?”

“Yes, I saw my father hunting a giant wild boar monster before.”

    “A monster?”

Everyone looked puzzled at Laurent’s words.

“No, is it possible for a monster to be in the outskirts of Paris?”

“Did you happen to see its tail?”

    “I vaguely remember… ”

“Try to remember well. Was the tail green, or did it move sluggishly?”

“I remember the tail being green.”

    Laurent nodded at Tristan’s words.

    “It’s a monster.”

“Are you serious about it being a monster?”

Unbelieving at the mention of a monster appearing, they asked again.

“No matter how big a wild boar gets, it’s usually killed by shooting it or using a spear.”

“The wild boar that Rajang and Youngsik saw is the same monster I saw in Bastogne.”

    “Isn’t that a big problem?”

Aramis asked with a serious expression.

“We need to inform everyone of this fact quickly.”

    “Grimo!”

    “Yes, master.”

“Take Rajang and Youngsik back to camp on horseback and inform them of the danger!”

    “Yes, understood!”

Grimo put Tristan on the horse and quickly rode towards the camp.

“We need to find the monster quickly too!”

At Aramis’s shout, everyone mounted their horses.

    “Hyah! Let’s go!”

We rode our horses and started searching through the forest.

“Where is it… where is it…!”

Feeling anxious due to the urgent situation, we looked around frantically.

    “Ahh!”

In the distance, the sound of someone screaming could be heard.

    “There!”

We turned our horses towards the source of the sound.

    “Kweeeeek!!”

As the giant wild boar thrashed about, the beautiful tree branches broke like twigs.

    “Help… me!”

    Kwack!

The injured person requested help, but was trampled by the wild boar’s hooves and ran for his life.

I took out my gun and fired at the wild boar.

    Bang!

The bullet bounced off the wild boar’s skin without leaving a mark.

    “This… ”

The skin was so tough that not even a scratch appeared.

“Shouldn’t a spear pierce through even if it’s tough?”

    “It’s definitely strange.”

Rotose and Aramis also fired their guns one after the other.

The result was the same, the bullets bounced off harmlessly.

    “Who’s there?”

There was someone below the cliff confronting the wild boar.

    “Who’s there?!”

“I am Lisnang of the Lis family!”

When I heard Lisnang’s name, I was taken aback.

“It’s dangerous here, quickly run away and inform others of this fact!”

Lisnang was fighting the wild boar with a shabby spear wrapped around his body.

He seemed so strong when I was young, but after over 10 years, it was laughable to see him like this.

“Was I really scared of that guy back then… ”

I looked at Lisnang with a bitter smile.

“Marie, we need to kill that wild boar.”

Aramis tapped my shoulder and asked.

    “I don’t feel like it.”

“I won’t ask what kind of fate there was, but saving people is the right thing to do.”

“Well, if it has to be killed, I’ll do it.”

I drew my sword, and as I wrapped the spear around my body, a bright golden aura covered my body and sword.

    “Let’s go!”

The four of us ran towards the wild boar’s legs.

    “Kweeek!!”

At the moment we tried to strike its legs, the wild boar raised its front legs.

    “Huh?!”

Rotose and Aramis missed the wild boar’s front legs and looked up.

    “Rotose! Aramis!”

I shouted as the wild boar tried to stomp on them.

    “Ouch!”

Luckily, they rolled away and avoided the wild boar’s attack.

    “Kweeeek!! Kweeeek!”

The wild boar screamed as it charged towards Lisnang, dragging its body with only its front legs moving.

    “Ugh… Ugh…!”

Lisnang stood frozen, holding his rapier, as the wild boar rushed towards him with fierce momentum.

“What the… What is that creature?!”

Trembling, Lisnang aimed his rapier at the wild boar.

I quickly threw myself towards Lisnang.

Grabbing his backside, I rolled to the side just as the massive wild boar passed by.

Swiftly turning my head to check on Lisnang, I saw that he had fainted.

“Well, it’s probably better that he’s unconscious.”

    CRASH!

The wild boar collided with a rock, staggering back.

    “Uwaaaah!!!”

Seizing the opportunity, Lorang swiftly climbed onto the wild boar’s back and raised his sword.

    Thrust!

Lorang’s sword plunged deep into the wild boar’s neck.

    “Kweeek?!?!?!!”

The wild boar collapsed to the ground, making a strange noise.

As its heavy body hit the ground, a cloud of dust rose up.

    “Did we get it?”

    “No, that person did!”

In response to Rotos’ clueless remark, I smacked him on the back of his head.

    “It’s fine. He’s definitely dead.”

Lorang gracefully descended from the wild boar’s carcass.

“Look at that! Isn’t that something!”

“Well… It’s fortunate that we managed to defeat the monster.”

I chuckled and sat down on the ground.

“You keep hitting me on the head…”

Rotos grumbled, then chuckled as he looked at the wild boar.

“Haha! Look at this. We’ve bagged ourselves a first-place prize.”

“Well, if this doesn’t qualify as first place, then what does?”

Aramis laughed heartily at Rotos’ words.

“By the way, how are we going to move this wild boar?”

We all looked at each other in response to Lorang’s question.

“What are you doing? You guys should drag it.”

Rotos and Aramis gave me a puzzled look.

“Tie its legs with a rope and…?”

As I explained how to move it, Aramis stared at me incredulously.

“Why are you looking at me like that?”

    “Do you have no conscience?”

    “What?”

“You want us to drag it after we caught it?”

“Hmm! We can’t just leave the wild boar here, can we?”

“We can’t leave the wild boar we caught here, but it’s too big to drag…”

Aramis turned his head back to look at the massive wild boar.

    “Isn’t it too big?”

    “So what do we do?”

    “I have an idea!”

With a grin, Rotos climbed onto the wild boar’s carcass.

    [Rotos’ Impressive Hunt]

He used his dagger to carve a mark into the skin of the wild boar’s left front leg.

“How about that? Pretty clever, right?”

“Oh… Looks like you’re using your brain for once.”

“It seems like you’re underestimating me, but I’ll let it slide.”

    “Ugh…!”

As we chatted, Lisnang furrowed his brow and rose from his spot.

    “Are you up?”

“Ugh…! I feel like I had a dream of being crushed by a giant cheese.”

Everyone looked at me in silence as Lisnang, sweating and breathing heavily, tried to get up.

    “Everyone, look away.”

    “Hmm…!”

As I growled, everyone coughed awkwardly and looked elsewhere.

“Anyway, it’s fortunate that you’re alive.”

Aramis used healing magic on Lisnang.

    “It’s not fortunate at all!”

Rather than waiting for the healing to finish, Lisnang quickly tried to get up.

“Now is not the time for this, the wild boar is not just one, there are five more!”

    Lisnang’s words left everyone speechless.

    “That… It’s not over yet?”

“That’s right, by now those wild boars might be arriving at the camp where the weaklings are!”

At Reesnang’s words, we snapped back to attention.

    “Shouldn’t we move quickly?”

    “We should.”

I nodded in agreement with Aramis.

“Ugh…! Just when I thought we could rest for a bit!”

Rotus stretched out and mounted his horse.

“Reesnang, you ride in front of me.”

Aramis reached out a hand to Reesnang.

“Your wound seems to be still healing… It’s better to finish it while riding to the camp.”

    “Thank you.”

Reesnang nodded in gratitude to Aramis.

“We’re running out of time, hurry!”

We rode off towards the camp.

    #

    Bang! Boom!

    “Stop them!”

The soldiers at the camp were frantically shooting at the wild boars.

They had fired so many shots that the gun smoke hung thick in the air like a fog.

“Use up all the ammunition in the pouches! We must hold out until the King and nobles take shelter!!”

“The bullets are not having any effect!”

A soldier with a blackened face from the gunpowder reported.

    “Damn it!”

The captain of the guard angrily threw his hat to the ground.

“Where did those creatures come from!”

He watched as five monstrous wild boars approached menacingly.

    “Wizard! Bring the wizard here!”

“The wizard is already trying to stop them!”

“What, magic couldn’t stop them either!”

The captain’s face turned red as he shouted in frustration.

“They’re just burning the fur and that’s it!”

“There’s no way out of this…!”

“What will happen when the player arrives?”

“How can bullets bounce off and not hit them!”

    “Hmm…”

The captain’s outburst made the lieutenant furrow his brow.

“If only we had a cannon…!”

“Shall we try using the ceremonial cannon?”

“Let’s give it a try! Hurry and bring the cannon!”

    “Yes!”

Soon, eight ceremonial cannons were positioned towards the wild boars.

    “We’re ready!”

    “Fire!”

    Boom!

    “Kuaaah!!”

The wild boar hit by the cannon roared in pain.

It staggered and fell to the ground.

    “It’s effective!”

The captain watched through his binoculars, his face brightening.

    “Fire the cannons again!”

    “Reload!”

    “Fire!”

    Boom! Bang!

    “Gueeeek!”

The cannonballs fired from the eight cannons seemed to have an effect on the wild boars.

“There’s still enough distance! Focus on taking them down one by one!”

The captain drew his sword from his waist and gestured towards the soldiers.

But the cannonballs were hitting the bodies of the wild boars rather than their heads, failing to deliver a fatal blow.

“What are you doing! Aim for the heads properly!”

    “We’re trying our best!”

Frustrated by their inability to finish them off, the captain began to grow impatient.

    “We’re out of cannonballs!”

    “What?!”

Since they had brought a limited number of cannonballs as decorations, they quickly ran out.

    Creak!

    “Damn it!”

The captain looked helpless as he smashed his binoculars and watched the wild boars trample everything in the camp.

“Where did those creatures come from!”

He stared at the wild boars destroying the camp with resentful eyes.

    “Gueeek!”

To make matters worse, the wild boar that had been knocked out by a cannonball suddenly shook its head and got back on its feet.

    “Oh, damn it…!”

“Captain, we need to get out of here!”

The lieutenant tried to pull the captain away, but he stood frozen in place.

    “Captain!”

“If you want to go, then go! I have to stop these wild boars here!”

He glared at the wild boars with veins bulging on his forehead.

    “Drop it!”

    “Oof!”

He charged towards the wild boars, adrenaline coursing through his body.

    “Take this!”

He brandished his longsword and sliced through the boar’s leg.

    “Squeal!”

    Thud!

The boar, with its leg cut, let out a piercing scream and collapsed.

    “Oh…!”

The soldiers watching the commander’s martial arts skills were impressed.

    “Not over yet! …Huh?!”

    Whoosh!

As he attempted to strike another boar, the commander was rammed by another boar and pinned to the ground.

    “Commander!”

The soldiers panicked as their commander was in trouble.

“Retreat! By now, His Majesty the King must have safely escaped to a secure location!”

Under the lieutenant’s command, the soldiers began to flee.

    “Kweeek!”

The boars, as if waiting for the soldiers to run, charged towards them swiftly.

    “Uh… Ugh…!”

A terrified soldier, frozen in fear, stared at the approaching boars.

    “Mother!”

As the soldier crouched down and cried out,

    Boom!

    “Kweeek!”

Something bright and golden lunged at the boar’s neck like a bullet, swiftly slicing its throat.

    Thud!

The boar’s massive head fell to the ground.

    “Uh… What…?!”

The soldier, tears streaming down his face, widened his eyes and looked at the person in front of him.

“Even if the deer head is ruined, this should be enough, right?”

I chuckled gleefully, admiring the cleanly severed section of the boar’s head.
