Chapter Index

Since lunch time wasn’t over yet, I was able to call Lane’s junior teachers through Carmel.

“Is that all the people here?”

    “Yes.”

I looked at the people standing in front of me while drinking the cola Carmel brought me.

The sweet, cool, and thrilling taste tingled my tongue.

    Two men and one woman.

    All three were young.

He graduated from school in the same generation as Rain, so it was natural that he was young.

    What subjects do they teach?

    “Hello?”

The teachers responded to my greeting with nervous expressions.

    “Hello!”

    The voice was too loud.

I looked around with my ears slightly covered.

This is a large garden in the middle of the school.

There were quite a few students who came out for a walk after lunch, so a lot of eyes were on them.

    “Your voice is too loud.”

    “Sorry!”

My voice became a little quieter as I spoke.

Only then did I nod and look back at Rain.

    “Rain. Are these the people?”

    “Uh… Yeah.”

Rain was hiding behind my back, trying not to show himself.

But even if she acted like that, she couldn’t hide all of her appearance.

    “Why did you call them…?”

“To show the majesty of Rain.”

    “Ugh.”

Rain blushed bright red at my answer and lowered his head.

I turned around again and looked at the teachers standing stiffly in front of me.

It was sad to see him so nervous.

“Everyone, relax. Why are you standing there?”

“That, that. You called me all of a sudden…”

“Yes. I called because I have something to do.”

But they didn’t relax their bodies even after my answer.

The sight of them standing in a line and shivering was enough to attract the attention of many students.

    I looked around, frowning.

Then, the students who were looking at this place were startled and ran away.

“Everyone. What do you think of Rain?”

    “Huh?”

“I’m asking what you think of Rain. Everyone, please answer.”

I asked the teachers, pushing the swaying lane forward.

They exchanged glances, looking puzzled by my question.

I started whispering in Rain’s ear in a small voice so that no one else could hear.

“Rain. Stand up straight. Show your dignity. ”

    “Stop it…”

“Rain, you’re great. You can do it. You’re called a cool senior because you show a dignified appearance.”

    “Huh, huh…”

But despite my cheering, Rain couldn’t raise his head.

As if his legs had lost their strength, he began to lean against me.

I looked at the teachers with a troubled expression.

“What are you all doing? Rain doesn’t seem to have any energy.”

    They didn’t answer my questions.

Like a mute who had eaten honey, he kept his mouth shut and just rolled his eyes here and there.

Could it be that you don’t understand why I’m doing this?

I opened my mouth with a small sigh.

“This is to cheer for Rain. Praise Rain for her wonderful appearance.”

As I said that, I pulled Lane forward once more.

I supported her from behind as her legs gave out and she trembled, and lifted her head, which was bowed down, with my hand.

    Rain’s face was extremely hot.

The teachers, who had been exchanging glances for a while, soon began to speak one by one.

    “Rain, you’re cute!”

“They really suit each other so well!”

    “That’s right! It’s so cute!”

All kinds of compliments poured in for Lane.

But I shook my head and said to them,

    “That’s not it.”

    “Huh?”

    Do you still not understand?

I held onto Lane, who was trying to run away, and held him out to them again.

Rain now seemed to have no strength left and just staggered along as I led him.

“Can’t you tell when you see Rain’s listless face? I’m praising Rain’s majestic appearance.”

    “Oh, majesty?”

“Yes! Go ahead and praise me!”

The three people exchanged glances with expressions of still not understanding.

I let out a long sigh as I looked at them.

He was showing such a stuffy appearance.

The people who worked at Grandfather Ferman’s castle quickly understood and listened to whatever I said…

I thought they would be disappointed because they only showed me so many comparisons.

    “Rain, you are so cool!”

The first to start was a male teacher of small stature.

He began to praise Lane, using every little thing he could think of.

    Yes, that’s it.

That’s the kind of compliment I wanted.

“Rain is so cool. I think that ability, the unrivaled control ability among those who can manipulate water, is in a position that no one can dare to imitate!”

Only then did I nod with a satisfied expression.

As my gaze turned to the side, the male teacher standing right next to me opened his mouth in surprise.

    The praise continued like this.

“Rain. What do you think? Do you like it?”

    “Ugh…”

    “Why can’t you answer?”

Even with my questions, Rain still had difficulty coming to his senses.

I held her tightly and rocked her back and forth.

    “Rain~”

    “Rain! You’re so cool!”

    “Rain! You are so beautiful!”

    “Rain! You’re so mature!”

The compliments from the juniors continued.

I looked around with a troubled expression.

As the praise continued and the voice grew louder, the students’ eyes continued to gather.

It was at that time that I continued to praise Rain’s majesty.

A female student walking out of the center of the building caught my eye.

Aqua-colored hair that catches the eye even from a distance.

A cute looking girl with her hair tied in two pigtails.

    It was Appleton.

    Is it okay now?

Drinking lots of green juice seemed to help.

She was walking straight towards here.

Because it was so far away, it didn’t seem to be visible from Appleton.

    “Rain! You’re really cool!”

The moment Appleton set foot in the garden, I raised my hand toward her and shouted.

    “Appleton!”

When I shouted, the teachers who had been praising Rain shut their mouths tightly.

Why are you stopping? When I signaled to them with my eyes to speak again, they resumed their praise where they had stopped.

    “Are you okay now?”

Appleton’s eyes were wide open in surprise.

The surrounding students’ eyes also turned to Appleton.

Appleton was unable to answer my questions.

Appleton looks around and begins to shiver.

    Eventually she collapsed again.

    “Appleton!”

    Are you still feeling better?

I placed the trembling Rain in Shine’s arms and ran to the fallen Appleton.

The teachers’ praise did not stop.

The students who had been gathered around Appleton began to retreat as I approached.

I lifted the fallen Appleton and checked her condition.

    Fortunately, he was breathing.

    Simple fainting.

I returned to my original position, holding the fallen Appleton in my arms.

    The teachers’ praise continued.

Wouldn’t it be okay to stop here?

I thought so and observed Rain’s expression.

    “Rain. Are you satisfied?”

    “Uh, uh…”

Rain nodded his head weakly, his face bright red and his shoulders slumped.

Although he didn’t look satisfied, he was okay and couldn’t make others suffer any more.

I nodded and said to the teachers.

    “You can stop now.”

The teachers who had been praising Rain’s dignity slumped their shoulders in disappointment.

“Okay. You did a great job.”

I was concerned about what other people thought, so I didn’t use words like “junior” or “senior.”

They also seemed to have that much sense, as they never once made a slip of the tongue while giving out so many compliments.

“I’ll end it here for today.”

    “Oh, today?”

“Yes. Do you want to do more?”

    “No!”

“If you say it so firmly, Rain will be sad.”

    “Sorry!”

I shook my head, checking the time.

Lunch time was slowly coming to an end.

“Everyone, go back. Lunch is over, so I have to go to class.”

The teachers gave short answers to my questions and then disappeared right away.

“Carmel. My friend Appleton has lost consciousness. I need you to take him to the infirmary.”

    “Okay.”

Carmel took Appleton from me, at my word.

Appleton, unconscious, slumped over and headed to the infirmary.

“Rain. Are you satisfied? Everyone will think of you as a great senior.”

I led Rain, who was sloshing like melted cheese, to the classroom with Shine.

    “Over there. Shine.”

    “Yeah.”

“Don’t you think everyone is looking at us strangely?”

    “Um…”

    I said, looking around.

As we started walking towards the classroom, the gazes from the hallway watching us strangely changed.

I didn’t see it like this at first, but why is it like this?

The students were trembling with fear.

“Everyone seems to be afraid of us.”

I let out a small sigh at the gazes around me and muttered softly.

School life. Will I be able to do well?

It was a day when I missed Grandpa Perman.

Even after returning to the classroom, things did not improve.

    Everyone was avoiding us.

I sat the sobbing Rain down and sat next to her with Shine.

As I was preparing for class, a new teacher came in and class started.

    “Hey, Shine.”

    “Yeah.”

“Are we doing well in our school life?

“Oh, of course. Jeff is doing well.”

    No one comes to us.

Even the teacher was watching this side closely.

Shine seemed very pleased with this atmosphere, but I wasn’t.

I took out my phone and searched for ways to cheer myself up.

Because I rarely socialize with people, I didn’t know this method.

I was able to get a lot of information on the Internet.

“If the atmosphere is stiff… One good way to lighten the mood is to bring out some humor…”

I nodded as I read the internet post.

    It’s a funny joke.

What kind of humor is funny?

    I started searching again.

    “Jeff, what are you doing?”

    “Searching for funny jokes.”

I showed my phone screen to Shine.

There were a few simple jokes floating around on the screen.

What is the fastest chicken in the world? Huddadak.

What plant makes you grow taller if you eat it? Mugwort.

“Do you really think this is funny?”

“Yeah. Actually, I don’t think so.”

Shine frowned as if she didn’t like the humor I was showing her.

It was understandable why she had such an extreme reaction to it.

I also hated this kind of humor.

    “Jeff, we don’t need this.”

    “Really?”

“Yeah. If you just tell them to laugh, everyone will laugh.”

    “That easy?”

“Yeah. Look carefully. I’ll show you.”

As she said that, Shine jumped up from her seat.

Then, everyone’s eyes turned to Shine.

    “Teacher.”

    “Huh, huh? Yes? ”

    “Smile.”

The teacher standing in front of the desk muttered with a bewildered expression at Shine’s words.

A middle-aged man with half his head shaved.

He was wearing glasses, so he looked like he had been good at studying in the past.

    “Smile.”

Could what Shine said be true?

I looked at the teacher standing in front of the desk with anticipation.

He began to wipe his bald head with a handkerchief and raise the corners of his mouth.

    “Ha. Hahaha! Hahahaha! ”

    I laughed.

    What Shine said was true.

    “Did you see it?”

    “Yeah.”

The teacher didn’t stop laughing until Shine told him to stop.
