    Academy Adelan

There were differences between the human students attending there, nobles and commoners, from the moment they entered school.

Children of noble families who attend the academy while paying tuition that is by no means cheap.

The fees they paid, accounting for about 50% of the total student body, were enormous, and the Academy’s finances were practically maintained through their tuition fees.

And as another category, the commoners, most of whom are the main characters that made Adelan what it is today.

30% of the total number fell into this category.

Those who attend the Academy for free, but pledge to contribute to the Academy in some way in the future.

Although the oath was mandatory, they were willing to devote themselves to the Academy that gave them the opportunity to dream and advance despite their low status, and even now, they do not spare support for their alma mater from all over the duchy and the empire.

As a representative example, it was their achievement to create a system where scholarships could be provided by the Padishah to discover commoner talent.

That is, in terms of finance, the children of the nobility.

In terms of legal and disciplinary matters, it could be said that capable commoners were making their declarations to the Academy.

However, the differences between students that were naturally divided from the beginning naturally became a source of conflict during their time at the academy.

When many people gather together, they tend to take sides based on their differences.

Differences in birth, differences in the environment in which they grew up, and even differences between the human and demon races, which make up 20% of the population.

As a result, within Adelan, there was a subtle sense of competition and check between the children of nobles born with noble status, talented commoners, and the demons.

From pure noble, commoner, and demon factions, to a union of demons and commoners with the commonality of being discriminated against based on origin, to a neutral faction that does not want to be swayed by those around them regardless of status or origin.

In this way, numerous factions with different personalities and goals were intricately dividing the 10,000 students of Academy Adelan, and on top of that, the situation within the academy was more complex and dangerous than anyone had imagined, with factors such as power struggles between the imperial nobles affecting their children.

It was even cute to the point that fights using magic occurred frequently within the school.

It was not uncommon for events within the academy to have an impact outside the academy and lead to major incidents.

In other words, even though this is an academy for young students, it is actually no different from a miniature version of the great nation known as the Empire.

And the institution that holds the real power in these academies.

The student council, which holds all the power in the name of finance, administration, and security, was actually playing a role in controlling the academy from running wild.

Among them, there is a department that can be called the military power of the student council.

A place where students are comprised of witches, magicians, and demons who can use magic.

This department, known as Sentinel, was still evolving various incidents occurring throughout the Academy.

The situations are varied and complex, ranging from simple security tasks to those that could have gone in a more serious direction than expected.

And the person who is the leader of these Sentinels…

It was Senel Polena Dragona, the second princess of the Dragona Empire.

“So, what exactly is that, Sister? I think it’s probably because of the Sentinel thing that brought you here instead of where your big sister is?”

Katlena and Zeros have accepted positions as student council officers, but have not yet been assigned specific departments.

Those two people were currently in the Sentinel’s office talking to Senel, who had brought them here.

At this, Katlena asked with a questioning tone, and Senel answered with his usual cheerful expression.

“It’s not that hard. I just wanted to give you guys who are new to the student council a taste of what the Sentinels are doing these days, as a sort of training session.”

“What do you mean by the work of the sentinels?”

“It’s simple, just light patrol work. Go around the designated area within the academy and crack down on any conflicts or strange things that happen. Of course, I’m not sending you alone, you new recruits. I’m also going to accompany you nearby, so there shouldn’t be any problems.”

    “Patrol..”

Catlena suddenly starts to remember something at Senel’s words.

An ordinary freshman would have a hard time knowing what it was specifically, but the current Katlena was different.

As she had experience as a student council president, she knew very well what the current situation was like at the Academy with the new students coming in, and what the patrols meant in the midst of it all.

‘It’s the beginning of the semester… a time when new blood is transfused into the Academy. And this can also be said to be a time when the numerous factions scattered throughout the Academy are gathering strength with fire in their eyes.’

The form itself could be said to be similar to how a club accepts new members, but because the emotional rift between the factions is so deep, sometimes this can lead to armed conflict.

The Sentinel patrol that Senel speaks of is an action that involves discovering and evolving such conflicts… It is by no means an easy task.

Nevertheless, from Senel’s appearance of talking about this matter in a rather light manner, Katlena was able to recognize one more fact.

‘This older sister… also has a bit of a bad taste. Well, considering her position as the manager, it’s not that I don’t understand it.’

In some cases, it means that he wants to simply test his younger brother’s abilities, as he may become his direct subordinate.

With that thought in mind, Katlena nodded to Senel’s words.

“Yes, I will. Then I will accompany you.”

    *

Catlena, who decided to accompany Senel on the reconnaissance mission at his suggestion, and Zeros, who was automatically confirmed to accompany him due to his master’s actions.

However, although it seemed like a simple reconnaissance mission at first glance, Zeros had already noticed the truth behind it.

The Academy at this time is a time of fierce power struggles between the nobles, the commoners with proven abilities, and the demons.

Zeros was aware that patrolling with the Sentinel at a time like this would be no easy task, as it meant jumping into the middle of the arena and directing traffic.

‘On the other hand, this princess would have no way of knowing that fact. Judging from the fact that she accepted the request so quickly, it was a situation where she could easily get caught up in a pointless fight…’

In that sense, Zeros began to prepare himself, realizing that Katlena was still a young girl.

‘If this is the case, I really need to stay alert. Even though Senel is with me, I don’t know when or how something could happen..’

As a subordinate servant, it is no exaggeration to say that his life and safety currently depend on Katlena.

As he had a duty to keep her from getting involved in anything, Zeros was reluctant, but he decided to follow behind Katlena for the time being.

Welcoming new people was one of the most important factors in running an organization.

No matter how good the intentions and system are, if people don’t gather, it is ultimately useless.

Knowing this fact well, during this period, fierce competition continued among factions throughout the academy to attract the attention of new students.

“Hey, we took this first. Don’t bother us and get out of the way. ”

“Just because you used it yesterday, does that mean this place is still yours? We came first today, so why don’t you look for somewhere else?”

“These guys… Do they dare know who we are…”

“Who are they? You are the noble children who entered school thanks to your parents’ chance. I guess those great parents don’t even teach you these basic manners?”

The conflict between factions is evident from simple seat-fighting.

Even these types of verbal arguments were relatively minor, and in severe cases, they often escalated into combat actions called ‘duels’.

And the people who were most noticeably busy during these times were, of course, the Sentinels, who were responsible for maintaining order in the Academy.

“Don’t make a fuss here. If you do, I’ll kick you both out. From what I hear, it seems like we got here first today. Those who got here late, just give way.”

    “Tsk.. Okay, I got it.”

The tense situation was quickly resolved when students wearing the Sentinel uniforms came forward.

Although there were complaints from those belonging to the noble faction, they had no choice but to follow his words and step down for the time being, as they had to acknowledge the authority of the Sentinel and the Student Council.

However, not everything was resolved so easily.

Just like this situation that is happening right now.
