by adminKnock knock knock knock
A familiar sound.
The faint sound slowly woke up my deeply sleeping mind.
“Umm…”
A sense of body that gradually emerges.
I got up from my seat, rubbing my blurry eyes.
My room and Shine’s room. A body lying on the bed.
The blanket that was draped over my body slowly slides down.
I naturally moved my hand to the side and checked the lying Shine.
Contrary to my expectations, the cold feel of the blanket greeted me.
Ta-da-dak-
A familiar sound is heard once again.
It was the sound of typing on a keyboard.
On one side of the room, where darkness should have fallen gently, there was a bright light flashing.
I rubbed my eyes and turned my head there.
“Shine…in?”
Shine.
She, who was supposed to be sleeping next to me, was sitting in front of the computer.
She didn’t take her eyes off the screen, perhaps because she was wearing her headset upside down and couldn’t hear me.
I got out of bed, walked slowly, and looked at Shine’s screen.
The game I was playing yesterday.
Shine was still playing the online RPG game that had caught her interest.
What happened?
She must have gone to bed with me.
I looked at Shine in silence.
Shine was desperately leveling up her character.
I crawled into bed without saying a word and went back to sleep.
That happens sometimes, I didn’t want to bother her.
Ta-da-dak- Ta-dak-
The sound of my keyboard keystrokes didn’t diminish until I fell asleep.
***
“Shine, are you sleepy?”
Early morning.
I sat on the bed and asked Shine, who was sitting next to me.
There were dark circles under her eyes.
“Yeah…”
Shine answered in a weak voice.
Shine’s white hair begins to sway slowly.
He was nodding his head, indicating that he was dozing off.
I gently pushed Shine’s body and laid her down on the bed.
Shine climbed onto the bed without rejecting my touch.
It was time for breakfast, but Shine needed sleep.
I left the room alone and headed to the first floor.
Lane and Amy were already preparing breakfast.
Lane, moving busily, carrying plates.
And then there’s Amy, who hands her a plate of food.
For breakfast today, I had fried eggs, salad, and chicken breast.
When I told Amy that it was hard to eat only grass every morning, she added a fried egg to her breakfast.
I want to eat tonkatsu.
With that thought in mind, I went to the chair and sat down.
My face was reflected in the small mirror on the table.
A little girl pouting her lips as if dissatisfied.
I looked in the mirror and started to straighten my hair.
“Hi Jeff. Where’s Shine?”
As I was organizing my hair like that, Rain brought a plate in front of me and asked.
“Hi. Shine will be better.”
I answered, picturing Shine lying on the bed.
I guess I won’t wake up until lunch time.
“Shine?”
Amy questioned my answer.
I nodded.
Amy came to the table carrying her last plate.
Clothes that are a little different from what you usually wear.
Around her neck hung a card denoting museum staff.
“I guess I lost some sleep.”
Amy nodded at my words and looked up.
“Was the bed uncomfortable?”
“No.”
“Right? Because I slept well on the first day.”
I moved my fork vigorously to wrap all kinds of vegetables around the fried egg.
And then he put it all in his mouth and moved his mouth vigorously.
My cheeks were so swollen that I thought they would burst, but I was barely able to swallow them.
Eventually, Amy jumped up from her seat, went upstairs, and came down carrying Shine in her arms.
Shine, still in Amy’s arms, looked around with blurry eyes, as if she hadn’t come to her senses yet.
“Why is he so out of it? Did he drink coffee?”
Amy looked at me suspiciously.
It seemed like he remembered the time when he had secretly drank Amy’s coffee when he was at headquarters.
I shook my head desperately.
“No.”
Amy sat Shine down on a chair and wiped her face with a wet handkerchief.
Shine struggled to push Amy’s hand away, disliking the cold feel of the handkerchief.
“Rain. I have to go out soon. Make sure to feed Shine. Okay? ”
“Yeah!”
Amy smiled in satisfaction at Rain’s powerful answer and put some broccoli in Shine’s mouth.
Shine couldn’t refuse and just mumbled a few times before nodding off again.
“I’ll be back!”
It was the beginning of the day.
Amy greeted us, opened the door, and went into the museum.
Lane quickly ate his own food and fed Shine as Amy requested.
Shine, who eats well even while sleeping.
Eventually, she was able to eat all the food while still asleep.
As Rain and I started clearing the dishes, Shine started to fall asleep with her head on the living room table.
“Shine’s condition is not good…”
“Because I played games all night.”
“Game?”
“Yeah. It seems pretty fun.”
Rain looked at Shine with concern at my words.
“I can’t go out today.”
“Yeah.”
“I need to move to bed.”
Rain and I started to climb the stairs, carrying Shine’s body.
It was quite dangerous to stagger around, but luckily I was able to get Shine to the bed without any problems.
In the end, I had no choice but to cancel all of my morning schedule.
Because I couldn’t go out without Shine.
I don’t know about Rain, but I had to go with Shine.
Because I promised to always be with her.
I sat on the living room sofa and used my laptop to gather information.
Summarize the events that occurred in District 2 and organize them by date.
Among them, the information mentioned about the museum was classified again.
I started collecting all the information I could find, whether it be articles, blogs, or community posts.
Rain sat down next to me and started playing a game.
There was ridiculously little information about the museum.
Most of these articles were posted 10 years ago.
Otherwise, it was only mentioned a few times on the community message boards.
If you don’t have information about the museum, you can approach it from another direction.
This time I started looking for the person who compiled the city’s records into a book.
The name of the person who compiled it is Kazan.
I immediately took out the phone book and checked every number in District 2 that had the name Kazan in it.
Now all that’s left is to search for the number again.
Simple repetitive tasks weren’t that difficult.
Of the 15 phone numbers, I picked out the ones that were related to books or museums.
There were three numbers in total on the dragon’s boat, but I was able to pick the number that seemed most relevant.
Name Kazan.
I am 62 years old this year.
The president of a publishing company that publishes city records.
good.
I nodded and circled it in my notebook.
When Shine wakes up, a place to go has been decided.
Shine woke up long after lunchtime.
Shine coming down, rubbing her eyes.
I jumped up from my seat, ran towards Shine, and hugged her.
“Did you sleep well?”
“Yeah.”
Shine nodded absentmindedly.
There was still a hint of fatigue in his voice, but he seemed to be moving without any trouble now.
“Is the game that fun?”
“Because I have to get revenge.”
“To that character?”
“Yeah.”
good.
Now that all three were gathered, it was time to go on a mission.
Everyone put on their outdoor clothes and carried their bags on their backs.
I don’t forget to put on the bracelet and leave the house.
“It’s late today, so I’ll take a different route.”
I took out my notebook and told them what I had planned.
“Publisher?”
“Yeah. It’s a place that publishes various books.”
“Something like a comic book that Rain has?”
At Shine’s question, Rain smiled awkwardly and nodded.
Shine asked me with eyes filled with anticipation.
She seemed to want a new book.
“So, can I get a new book?”
“There are bookstores nearby, but that’s not our goal.”
“I know.”
Do you really know?
It was a big problem because neither Shine nor Rain seemed very interested in the mission.
I sighed and led the two of them to the bus stop.
Because the distance to the publisher was quite far, I had to use public transportation.
I knew how to use the bus because I learned it in a book.
I used the map function on my phone to check the bus route to the publishing company and got on it.
Shine sat on the chair and stared blankly out the window.
After riding the bus for a long time, we finally arrived at our destination.
Across from the bus stop was a huge building, which was a publishing company.
“Over there?”
“Yeah.”
I approached the publishing house, placed my hand on the outside wall of the building, and closed my eyes.
It was intended to use abilities that had not been intentionally used until now.
A blue current slowly begins to raise its head.
The power that had been dormant in my body began to awaken, and all the surrounding noises flew into my head.
It’s quite, no, very noisy.
I started to focus more and more.
It blocks out information flowing in from the surroundings and only accepts information from this building.
My mind begins to wander deeper.
But that was it.
The limits of one’s ability have been reached.
Dismissal – Lights flash before your eyes, and the flow becomes distorted.
“Hmm.”
I groaned and lifted my hands from the outer wall of the building.
It seemed necessary to go deeper.
“Jeff. What did you find out?
“Hmm. No. I think I need to go in further.”
I shook my head at Shine’s words and headed inside the publishing building with everyone.
As I passed through the large automatic door and entered the building, a wide hallway appeared.
In the center of the hallway is a large information desk and what appear to be guards.
The guard’s gaze is turned straight towards us.
At that burdensome gaze, he held Rain and Shine’s hands tightly and walked towards the information desk.
The employee sitting across from me was yawning as if he was bored.
I went up to the information desk, raised my hand, and knocked.
dripping-
A small noise brings the staff back to their senses.
He blinked and looked around.
“Here it is.”
I raised my hand and waved at him.
Only then did the employee look at me, who was sitting under the information desk.
A moment of silence flows.
He adjusted the glasses he was wearing and opened his mouth with a small smile.
“Welcome~ What brings you here?”
“Can I take a tour of the inside of the building?”
“A field trip?”
“Yes!”
The employee looked troubled at my question.
A slightly tilted head and an awkward smile.
“Well, can you wait a minute?”
He immediately started typing on the keyboard.
A small, thumping sound echoed through the wide hallway.
It seemed like he was exchanging messages with someone.
“He said it’s not possible right now, but next Thursday would be fine. Can you come then?”
“Next major?”
“Yes.”
Unfortunately, there was nothing we could do right now.
I nodded and wrote my name and phone number on the tour application form he handed me.
Sasha charles jane.
It seemed like no one else had applied besides us.
After finishing filling out the application form, we immediately left the publishing house.
