Chapter Index

If you’re given a mission, isn’t it normal to have to do the work?

I woke up early in the morning and started getting ready for work.

After brushing my teeth, I change my clothes and go to the living room table on the first floor and sit down.

Amy and Victor also woke up around the same time as me and started a quick wash.

Rain and Shine were still asleep and didn’t seem to have any intention of waking up.

    “Jeff?”

    “Yes.”

“You’re already up and not sleeping anymore?”

Amy asked, seeming surprised that I was up so early.

    I nodded and answered.

    “Yes! I have to work.”

    Yes, work

The reason I joined this group.

It was to help Amy and be her strength.

Amy gave a small laugh at my answer and went into the bathroom.

    Victor started his morning exercise.

He was working hard to lift the huge machine installed at the end of the living room.

The twitching muscles of the thinly clad upper body showed off their presence.

I looked out the window with my chin resting on my hand.

    It was so peaceful outside.

Amy came out of the bathroom and started preparing breakfast.

Dressing drizzled over crunchy green vegetables.

Even the chicken breast that decorates the side.

    “in…”

I looked at the plate held out in front of me and frowned.

I thought it was a bit too much to come all the way here and eat grass.

    “Amy!”

    “Huh?”

Amy picked up a tomato with a fork as if nothing was wrong.

“Well, I have to work hard. Wouldn’t it be better to eat a little more filling food?”

I said, pushing the broccoli with my fork.

    “Was it not enough?”

But Amy seemed to have taken my words differently.

Her hands moved suddenly and piled the broccoli on my plate.

    “Oh no!”

I let out a short scream and tossed the plate aside.

Only then did Shine and Rain wake up and crawl out.

Two people coming down the stairs, rubbing their sleepy eyes.

    “Jeff. You woke up early.”

    “Yeah. I have to work.”

    “That’s right. Work.”

Shine nodded to my words and went into the bathroom.

Rain also followed Shine to the bathroom.

After finishing washing their faces, the two girls approached the table.

They frowned at the plates placed before them.

    “Ugh.”

Lane pushed the plate away with a disgusted expression.

    “Picky eating is bad.”

I said that and placed some broccoli on Lane’s plate.

Because I ate too much and I’m full.

    “Jeff!”

Ignoring Rain’s screams coming from behind me, I placed the empty plate into the sink.

It’s Rain’s job to do the dishes.

Her abilities would be over in an instant.

I went to the sofa and started waiting for everyone nicely.

As I sat down on the living room sofa and began to wait, Amy, who had also finished her meal, came over to me holding some papers.

    “What are we doing!”

    I asked Amy with anticipation.

Is this a mission where you have to infiltrate somewhere like a cool spy?

Or maybe a mission to observe someone?

Surely this isn’t a raid mission where you just have to beat up and destroy things?

“Okay. This is what Jeff is going to do.”

I took the papers from Amy’s hands.

The document contained a simple mission description and brief personal information about the people around him.

    “Getting friendly with neighbors…?”

I read the title of the mission out loud, wondering if I had read it wrong.

But no matter how I looked at it, it was right.

The goal was to become friends with the people on the list.

    This is a mission?

I looked up at Amy with a dumbfounded expression.

Then Amy began to explain with a heavy expression.

“Jeff, you wonder why this mission is like this?”

    “Yes.”

“Listen carefully. Your role is very important.”

    “Important…!”

“Yes. If you become friendly with the neighbors around you, we can get their help when we carry out more important missions later.”

Indeed, I nodded to Amy’s explanation.

When I heard it, it sounded plausible.

“This isn’t your mission alone. It’s Shine and Rain’s mission too.”

    Joint mission!

I spread out the documents I was holding on the table.

Behind the documents that were scattered around, there were photos of people around them.

As Rain and Shine approached me after finishing their meal, they began checking the documents I had spread out on the table.

    “Hmm.”

Shine nodded after checking the contents of the document.

    “Can everyone do it well?”

    “Yes!”

    I answered forcefully.

But if this is the mission for the three of us, does that mean Victor and Amy have different missions?

What mission are these two people doing?

“What are Amy and Victor’s missions?”

“I decided to be a guide at a nearby museum.”

    “Guide…?”

    “Yeah.”

Amy said, sliding the pad across the table to reveal a map.

A map with GPS tracking showed our location and the location of the museum Amy had mentioned.

If you think of it as a normal job, located just a short walk away, it’s a very good deal.

    I nodded.

“If I go here, I can meet Amy?”

    “Right?”

I nodded and looked at Victor.

Victor was drinking water after finishing his workout.

    “What does Victor do?”

    “Decided to do night guard.”

    “At the museum?”

    Victor nodded.

    What’s important in a museum?

    Amy then began to explain.

“There’s a very special exhibit coming into the museum, but I don’t know when. Jeff, Shine, and Lane. If you hear any rumors about the museum from your neighbors, report them right away. ”

    report.

The sound of that word came to me in a new way.

    I nodded, clenching my fist.

I haven’t been able to complete a single proper mission in a while.

My heart starts pounding as I begin to feel like I can finally help Amy.

    “Just trust me!”

Lane puffed out his chest with a confident expression.

And so the morning meeting ended.

Victor and Amy went to the museum for an interview, leaving the three of us alone.

I sat down in the yard and stared blankly outside the house.

Rain and Shine also sat down next to me.

The warm sunlight made me want to take a nap.

I had just eaten breakfast, so I was full and my eyes were starting to close.

“Jeff, we have to start the mission.”

    “That’s right.”

I took the documents out of my bag.

Our first target was a small cafe near our house.

He was also the first person I met.

    Gender is female.

    Age 32.

    Ability: Low-level speaking ability.

    The name is Valentine

She was a woman with a really sweet name.

I nodded, thinking of her in a languid mood.

The first person to become friends with has been decided.

“What should I do to become friends…?”

The three of us exchanged opinions with serious expressions.

“Wouldn’t it be better to increase store sales?”

Rain said with a confident expression.

    That’s somewhat true.

“How much should I raise it?”

    Shine said.

How much should I raise it?

It would be good to increase it a lot, but then you’ll arouse unnecessary suspicion.

    Moderately, many times.

    Wouldn’t that be good?

I took a small notebook out of my bag and started writing down my schedule.

    A newly introduced item.

It was a small notebook that was in a gift box I got at Lucy’s theme park.

The cute and sparkly cover of SD Lucy was attractive.

I held the notebook and smiled slightly.

    “Jeff.”

    “Oops.”

I quickly opened my notebook and moved the fan at the sight of Shine’s eyes.

The very first thing to do.

    Increase sales at Valentine’s Cafe.

Now, our daily routine will be to go to Valentine’s Cafe until the mission is over.

Once you’ve made your plan, it’s time to get started.

We packed our bags and headed to Valentine’s Cafe.

As I got closer to the cafe, a sweet scent began to waft in.

A cafe that opens early in the morning.

Customers leaving the cafe to get takeout on their way to work.

The three of us arrived in front of the cafe, swallowing our saliva.

    “Let’s go in.”

Inside the cafe that we entered like that, there were many customers.

Ddang- The door of a cafe opens with a small bell sound.

At the same time, the gazes of other people passed by us for a moment.

It was the right thing to do to activate the bracelet before leaving the house.

“Oh my. Here you go again.”

    Valentine was cleaning.

She turned her gaze to the door at the sound of the bell and greeted us warmly as if she remembered us.

    “Hello.”

Quietly, so as not to attract other people’s attention.

    I said hello to Valentine.

“What should I give you today? Something delicious again?”

I opened my mouth in bewilderment at Valentine’s words.

My face feels a little hot.

“Cheer, please give me the touch of an angel and some sweet dragon scales!”

    Angel’s Hand meant Caramel Macchiato.

Sweet Dragon Scales were sweet cookies made with cinnamon.

Valentine, who took our order, smiled slightly and guided us to our seats.

We sat on the chairs, put our heads together and started the meeting.

    “How can we become closer?”

“I think it would be a good idea to start a conversation.”

    I nodded to Rain’s words.

There is no better way to have a conversation and become close.

But the topic of conversation was problematic.

What would be a good topic to talk about?

No, I was questioning whether we could even have a conversation in the first place.

    Valentine was busy moving around.

The interior of the cafe, which is crowded with customers unlike yesterday.

I checked the quiet times and thought it would be best to come then starting tomorrow.

“Okay. The menu you ordered has arrived~”

Valentine began to place menus on the table, carrying a large tray in his hand.

A languid smile hung on her face and turned towards me.

I avoided eye contact because I felt burdened for no reason.

Before Valentine, who had set up the entire menu, left, I called him.

    “Hey, over there. Boss!”

I knew her name, but I couldn’t call her by her name because I hadn’t heard it formally.

That’s why I had to make a statement today.

    “Huh?”

    “What is your last name?”

Valentine’s eyes widen at my words.

I guess my question was unexpected.

    “Valentine. Just call me Valen.”

Valentine said that and smiled languidly.

    I nodded absentmindedly.

Then Shine grabbed my arm and pulled it.

    right.

It’s not good to pay too much attention.

    “What are your names?”

I swallowed hard and introduced ourselves.

During my missions, I use the alias Sasha.

    Shine is Charles.

    And Lane is Jane.

I spoke slowly and accurately, pronouncing the unfamiliar name without making a mistake.

“Nice to meet you all. I hope you become a regular.”

Valentine said so and headed to another table.

Because another customer’s order came in.
