[- Im Yuna -]
A middle school syndrome occult girl who always insists on high-class fashion.
[Spoiler Alert!!!]
If you haven’t played the game yet, press the ‘back’ key immediately – (Author Baek)
An unbeatable heroine.
At first glance, she may seem like an ordinary middle schooler, but in reality, she was banished by a god for causing mischief in the fantasy world.
Im Yuna’s real name is Yuna Serteti, also known as the “Witch of Darkness.”
No matter what method you use, she is an entity that cannot be conquered. Calling the police would lead to the country’s destruction, trying to win her love would result in creating slaves through magic. Even presenting top-notch wine or trying to pique her interest with a sexy dance won’t catch her eye.
Although she is said to have come from another world, there is no way to obtain detailed information about Im Yuna.
The author, after exhausting all possible methods in the game, concluded that she is unbeatable.
If you seek to conquer the game, it is advised not to touch her from the beginning.
A typical “Deus ex Machina” character (a scam character who suddenly overturns everything).
* * *
Im Yuna’s true identity was shocking.
“To think I stumbled into the tiger’s den!”
She is said to be a “world-class” boss monster.
In truth, I wasn’t sure what exactly “world-class” entailed, but it was certain that she was beyond my reach.
“So, what is your name?”
Im Yuna gazed at me with abyss-like eyes.
“My name is…”
This isn’t asking for my real name but the name from the same world as Im Yuna.
It feels like I might be killed if I answer incorrectly.
“I am Saint Miller!”
I blurted out a Western-sounding name off the top of my head.
“Oh, were you from a prestigious administrative family.”
Im Yuna seemed quite surprised.
“But I’ve never heard of a daughter in the Saint family… What happened?”
Her eyes studying me wavered.
“Well, um, hahaha.”
“To think the Saint lineage actually existed!”
To survive, I needed to tell a convincing lie.
“I am… actually a hidden illegitimate child.”
As if truly sorrowful, tears welled up in my eyes. Conveniently, tears flowed easily as if the situation warranted crying.
“I lived my life being ignored by the family… sob.”
While discreetly wiping tears, a dark substance infiltrated my mind.
“Ugh!”
The crying vanished in an instant.
It felt like my emotions were forcefully suppressed.
“Do not think about shedding tears.”
“…Yes.”
It was quite intimidating.
“How long have you been here?”
“…About two weeks.”
“Short.”
“Yes, but I adapt quickly…”
“What do you think of adventurers?”
…
It feels like a test of beliefs.
I hesitated for a moment. Even if it was a hasty judgment, I wanted to avoid any hint of suspicion.
I steadied myself. From now on, I will deceive even myself.
“Adventurers are parasitic beings who cannot resist flattery. They ruin the world blinded by money and fame, like a pack of dogs.”
My eyes glared with contempt.
I learned a physical technique from a friend long ago where flipping your tongue inside out makes your eyes bulge out.
“Huh.”
Im Yuna made a deflating sound as if astonished.
“You don’t need to overact just because you’re in front of me.”
Im Yuna once again raised her glass and refilled the wine. Unlike the blood-red earlier, this time she poured purple wine, indicating a variety of wines.
“You’ve expressed your thoughts on adventurers… So, what do you think of heroes?”
Im Yuna’s eyes filled entirely with pitch-black blackness. Simultaneously, the ground trembled ever so slightly.
“The hero… is an illusionist of the world.”
I spoke as I pleased.
“Why do you think of me as an illusionist of the world?”
As I stared into Im Yuna’s eyes, I felt like my soul was being sucked in.
…It was probably more than just a feeling.
“Bowing to a minority of rulers, closing one’s eyes and ears, believing in what one believes… no, what one wants to believe, shouting out beliefs and morals stuck in the era, wielding physical violence as a dictatorial figure.”
I emphasized the point as if sharpening my teeth with sincerity.
…I have no idea what kind of existence a hero is.
“What I truly admire is someone like you, without any deception or pretense. I have respected you since long ago. Lady Yuna Sertetie.”
It’s been a while since I spoke so frankly.
I deliberately trembled my chin, unable to control myself, portraying a scene as if a devout follower worshiping their deity.
“…Speak your mind freely.”
At first glance, it might seem like she doesn’t like it. But seeing the corners of her mouth slightly downturn, she seemed to be forcing back a smile.
“Got through!”
I managed to slip it in halfway through with some effort, but it seemed successful.
“What were you doing before coming here?”
Unlike the questioning tone used until now, she casually set down her wine glass and asked.
I was afraid of losing all the points I had painstakingly earned, but this was a tremendous opportunity.
“I… studied mass collective behavior.”
What I’m saying now is a gamble. I don’t know Im Yuna’s preferences at all. However, if, as the system indicated, she is a ‘witch,’ it was worth testing.
“Adventurers are parasites. They are beings who can be used as long as they have money.”
After blurting that out, I took a deep breath and bought myself some time to think.
“First, I found Hwajeonmin Village. Then, I infiltrated the village, set up false idols, and organized a punitive force made up of adventurers.”
As if reminiscing about the past, I clenched my fists with both hands.
“The adventurers massacred the Hwajeonmin. Perhaps because it was a punitive force organized in my name, the reputation of a certain Saint Miller soared. Especially troubled landowners sent fervent support due to the Hwajeonmin burning the forest.”
I released my fists and stared at Im Yuna.
“Do you know what’s funny? Most adventurers, during the punitive operation, realized that the Hwajeonmin were innocent. …Did they feel guilt for the slaughter and stop their actions? No. It seems they became even more aggressive, as if trying to hide their own misdeeds. Even after the punitive operation, they went around taverns proclaiming, ‘The Hwajeonmin worshipped demons!’”
I knelt on the floor.
“The meaning of human existence is that extreme heroes like you are born. Only heroes make the world meaningful. Otherwise, it’s just a mess of livestock.”
Im Yuna, already pale, now looked even more drained as the color drained from her face, making her dilated pupils stand out even more.
“Come here.”
Im Yuna extended her index and middle fingers.
I approached her as if it were an infinite honor.
‘If I’ve done this much, she should spare me. Ahaha.’
Honestly, I think even the Grim Reaper would look at me pitifully and close his eyes at least once with this much effort.
Im Yuna patiently waited for me to approach. But as soon as we were close, she grabbed my neck.
‘W- wait, is she trying to kill me now?’
A dark light shimmered from Im Yuna’s hand. It was the first time I had seen black shining in my life. I felt steam rising and then subsiding in my body.
“It’s over.”
Im Yuna let go of my hand.
I numbly touched my neck.
“…?”
There was nothing there to touch.
“I… I distinctly felt something happening, but…”
Feeling somewhat relieved that she seemed to spare me, I gathered my courage and asked.
Im Yuna flicked her hand.
Swoosh.
A hand mirror made of luxurious wood approached me.
“Is this… a choker?”
A thin black line, as thick as a finger, wrapped around my neck.
“Don’t worry about it. It’s nothing.”
“… ”
I was ridiculously worried.
“…If you’re done talking, can I leave this place now?”
“Why would you want to leave when staying here guarantees food and safety? Where is the reason to go out?”
“What?”
“You said you respected me, didn’t you? …Surely you’re not lying.”
“??”
“…If you can’t convince me right now, don’t even think about leaving alive.”
“… ”
My mind went blank. Yuna Sereteti looked at my dazed expression and burst into laughter for the first time.
“Hehe. Just kidding.”
“…As expected, your sense of humor is excellent.”
Im Yuna waved her hand.
The dense mist that brought me here materialized.
“Go ahead.”
“Where does this lead to? …Please give me some information at least.”
With fear gripping me, I entered the mist.
My sight vanished, revealing emptiness once again.
“What on earth is happening?”
“We are controlling the exhibition area.”
When I opened my eyes, I found myself in the middle of the [Modern Art] department building. With so many people around, no one noticed that I had teleported.
Following people’s gazes, I saw the exhibition hall under control.
“Why are you blocking it? You said you were just checking if my work was okay!”
“Entry is not allowed.”
A woman with a paint-stained apron and a security guard were arguing.
It seems they have no intention of revealing the inside of the exhibition hall.
“Well, there’s a brutally dead unidentified creature inside, what can I do.”
I killed the goblin, but I wasn’t worried since there were no CCTV cameras inside the exhibition hall. The school might install new CCTV cameras after this incident, but it’s none of my concern.
…I just wanted to go home and rest.
Exhausted from dealing with the goblin and Im Yuna, I headed outside to relax when I heard someone calling my name.
“Jiyoon!! Where have you been all this time?”
Hayoon rushed towards me, her eyes moist.
“I was worried…”
She hugged me, burying her face in my chest.
“I was just taking a walk in the park. Everything’s fine.”
“Then you should have answered your phone… I was so worried.”
“The phone didn’t ring?”
It seems Im Yuna’s hideout is in an area where communication is impossible.
“Sorry, I put it on silent in my bag and didn’t hear it while walking.”
“…But what about that necklace?”
“..!”
Now that I think about it, the choker that Im Yuna engraved like a tattoo would seem quite out of place to Hayoon.
“…Actually, I sneaked out of school, and when I saw the choker, I screamed. Isn’t it pretty?”
“Yeah, it suits you well.”
Fortunately, Im Yuna’s engraved “tattoo” was so lifelike that it seemed like she was wearing a real choker.
And Hayoon always likes whatever I wear.
Maybe she’d even say sandals with socks look pretty.
“Should I really try it?”
“Jiyoon.”
“Uh, yeah?”
“Let’s go home.”
“Again today?”
“…Don’t you want to?”
Hayoon’s lips trembled slightly.
“Haha, of course we should go!”
I couldn’t bear to see Hayoon even slightly sad because of my wrongdoing.
* * *
We arrived at Hayoon’s house.
“I’m back, unnie.”
Hayoon called for her mother, but there was no answer.
“No one’s home except me today.”
“Really? Too bad you couldn’t eat with your sister.”
It’s a bit burdensome to be overly cared for, but it’s nice.
“Ah, I wish I could live in a house like this.”
“Let’s live together!”
“Oh, that would be a nuisance.”
For some reason, Hayoon seemed excited today.
As usual, we lay on the bed together watching a drama. After finishing an episode, I quickly felt thirsty.
“Aren’t you thirsty? Let me get you some water.”
Getting up from the bed, Hayoon’s hand wrapped around my waist, stopping me from moving.
…It was truly sudden.
I found myself being led by Hayoon, assuming a posture akin to hugging a teddy bear.
“Hayoon?”
No response came when I called out.
Seemingly unsatisfied with just the hug, Hayoon spread her legs and pulled my hips towards her groin.
“U..uh..♡”
“H-Hayoon?!”
Hayoon pressed her groin against my hips. Shocked, I couldn’t move.
“Jiyoon… Something feels strange in my sleep…”
