Chapter Index

The moment the three of us opened the door together and entered the break room, I couldn’t hold back the exclamation of admiration.

    “Wow…”

Sweet smells wafting from all directions and games crammed into the display cases.

Without realizing it, I walked forward and pressed myself against a display case full of games.

Games were waiting for me, across the cold glass.

I used to enjoy playing package games.

Whenever I dragged my tired body and played with my friends, I could forget all the fatigue of the day.

If you have a cold can of beer next to it…

It was the best relaxation, no words needed.

I took a closer look inside the display case, my mouth still watering.

    “Jeff. Are these all games?”

    “Yeah.”

Shine also approached me, showing interest in the large display case filled with games.

I looked around the display case door.

There should be an open button somewhere here.

The hand that had been groping the glass moved downwards.

    “Oops.”

And I was able to discover it.

I’m talking about the buttons that stick out.

As I gently pressed it with a click, the door of the display case, which had been firmly closed, began to open gently.

    “Wow…”

The moment the game package and the wall that had been blocking me disappeared, I stretched out my hand with shining eyes.

All the games that I had filtered out because I didn’t have time, because I didn’t have money, because they were genres I didn’t normally play, were now here.

“Hey. Rain. Can we do this?”

“Yeah. No one will say anything?”

I looked around at her answer.

She gave us a sidelong glance as if to say she was right, but no one seemed to mind when we took out our games.

I pulled out a packaged game with a colorful cover.

    “Lucy’s Atelier?”

Shine muttered the name of the game I had chosen.

    Yes, that’s right.

This was a package game released by producing a game based on [The Little Witch’s Great Adventure], which I usually enjoyed.

I wasn’t really interested in it before, but now it’s one of the games I really want to play.

I hugged the game package with the pretty Lucy on it.

Shine’s eyes narrow at that sight.

“Do you really have to do that?”

    “Yeah. I want to.”

    “Okay.”

Shine nodded with a small sigh.

She was jealous of this little package game now.

I smiled slightly and patted Shine’s head.

“Shine. Are you jealous of the game?”

    “No.”

“Are you afraid I’ll ignore you and just play games?”

    “That’s not it.”

Shine turned her head away as if she was mad.

    “I have this!”

Rain has pulled off a rather manic game.

The 21st numbered game in the series called Iron Fist.

    “Are you good at that…?”

“It’s a decent level. Like the golden level?”

    I just nodded blankly.

Since I don’t have any knowledge of the game Iron Fist, I didn’t really understand what Reign meant by the Golden Group.

Because it’s gold. Does that mean it’s gold class?

Usually, when dividing the ranks of a game, it is divided into bronze, silver, gold, and platinum.

Is that how I understand it?

“Will Shine pick up the game?”

“I don’t know how to play games.”

I asked Shine, who was standing there blankly, but I couldn’t help but keep my mouth shut when I heard the answer.

Her white eyes were turned towards me.

    “Over there…”

    “Yeah.”

    “Then shall we join together?”

    “Yeah, if Jeff wants.”

    I nodded.

With the games in his arms, he begins to move to the next location.

Rain, however, came first and started to take the lead, as if he knew what was there.

Shine and I followed closely behind her.

The place where the main chick swayed gently on Rain’s back and they arrived was a very sweet place.

    “Gasp…”

In the middle of the wide space, there was a large fountain flowing.

But it wasn’t just any fountain.

    It was a chocolate fountain.

The chocolate dripping down spread a sweet scent all around.

I approached the fountain as if possessed.

“Did you come to drink chocolate?”

    “Yes!”

In front of him sat a man who appeared to be a manager.

A man wearing a pure white uniform, giving off a neat impression.

There wasn’t a single speck of chocolate on his body.

    “Just wait a minute.”

    He nodded at my answer.

His gaze moved behind me, landing on Shine and Rain.

He deftly reached out and took out three small cups.

Then, with his other hand, he lifted a small ladle and scooped up some chocolate into the cup.

Chocolate served in a pretty crystal cup.

    “Okay. Take it.”

    “Thank you!”

I bowed my head and stretched out my hands.

I ended up holding a cup of chocolate in my hand.

After that, Shine and Rain came up next to me and also received chocolates.

We drank all the chocolate on the spot.

A waterfall of sweet flavor flowed into my mouth and enveloped my tongue.

The scent of chocolate wafting toward my nose brought a happy smile to my lips.

It seemed to be the same for Shine, she rarely had a happy smile like mine.

It felt like looking in a mirror.

After drinking the chocolate, I returned the cup and grabbed the small basket that was nearby.

Seeing what other people were doing, it seemed like I could just fill this basket with whatever I wanted to eat.

I filled it with bread and chocolate, and Lane swept up some large candies.

Shine grabbed a few bags of small cookies.

Now that we’ve packed everything, all that’s left to do is go play the game.

We walked happily, swinging our baskets in our hands, and left the sweet space.

    “Just a minute. Wait.”

The moment she was walking excitedly, Shine suddenly stopped walking.

I wondered what she was doing, and then she started putting the cookies she had brought into her bag.

“You want to give it to Amy?”

    “Yeah.”

    Shine nodded to my question.

The dinosaur’s large mouth devoured the cookies.

    “Are you taking Victor’s too?”

    “Yeah.”

Shine stuffed half of the cookies she brought into the dinosaur’s stomach.

The dinosaur’s belly, which was quite bulging, was very tempting.

Seeing that, I also opened my bag and stuffed bread and chocolate into it.

It was a natural choice since we had packed too much for the three of us and it seemed like we wouldn’t be able to finish it all.

    “Should I pack Victor’s too?”

Rain, who was sitting next to me, frowned and asked.

He looked furious, his face furrowed as if he would take care of Amy’s things but not Victor’s.

I stretched out my fingers and pushed up Rain’s mouth to the sides.

A goofy smile appeared on her face.

    “Victor will be upset.”

    “Ugh…”

At my words, Shine began to think while crossing her arms.

The furrowed eyebrows made it seem like he was really thinking seriously.

“Victor is a grumpy person, so I don’t want to take care of him…”

“Rain is an adult. Can’t you forgive him generously?”

Rain’s eyes light up at my words.

She looked up at me with sparkling eyes.

    “Right? You think so?”

    “Yeah.”

“Of course. I’m an adult, so I should forgive you, right?”

Rain muttered softly as he stuffed sweet snacks into his bag.

The little chick’s stomach was swollen to the point of bursting.

    “I got it all!”

We quickly got up from our seats after packing up all the snacks to share with Amy and Victor.

It was rude to sit down for a long time on the street where people were passing by.

“The game console is over here!”

Rain grabbed Shine and me by the hand and started running.

Her mood was even higher than before.

    Praise makes even Rain dance.

    Not just the usual compliments.

The compliment that he was mature was important.

I stored some very important information in my head.

Where we arrived with Rain, there were several doors lined up.

It seemed like the game consoles were installed in separate spaces.

Rain chose the largest room among them and entered.

    “Come quickly!”

The interior of the room, which was located along the lane, was very comfortable.

    Wide space.

    A clean, shiny floor.

From a soft-looking sofa to a large monitor.

Game pads were neatly arranged on a small table above the sofa.

There was even a computer in the corner of the room.

“I think the break room here is better.”

    I muttered blankly.

In the building where Amy was staying, there was no such thing as a perfect space.

Rain ran to the sofa and lay down as if he was used to it.

In his outstretched hand, he was suddenly holding a game pad.

Shine and I also went and sat down next to her.

The soft sofa gave a pretty nice feeling.

    “Is there only one monitor?”

“No. I can take out a few more.”

    Rain answered my question.

She pressed down on a small button standing out next to the table.

Then, the only monitor that was there moved to the side, and a monitor of the same size popped up right below it.

    “Wow!”

It was as if a robot was taking off.

I was so excited by the wonderful sight that I banged my palm on the table.

“Okay. This one’s mine. And this one’s Shine and Jeff’s.”

Rain inserted a CD into the game console installed just under the sofa.

    I also followed her example.

There was a small basket on the table.

Lane reached into the basket, took out a small pair of earphones, and put them in his ears.

    “Okay. Jeff and Shine too.”

Rain helped me set up the game from start to finish.

She’s starting to look too grown up.

I opened my mouth in admiration at the sight of Lane’s skillful figure.

Shine and I each ended up plugging in one earbud each.

    “Let’s get started!”

I swallowed dry saliva and started playing the game.

A moment later, the game’s title logo appeared along with majestic yet cute music.

I immediately started manipulating the pad to skip the first part of the game.

I already knew the story at the beginning because I watched it on YouTube before.

As I was flipping through it so quickly, I could remember that Shine, sitting next to me, didn’t know the story at all.

“Hey. Shine. Do you want to see the story of this game?”

    “Story?”

“There’s a video that shows how the game progresses. How the story begins.”

    “No. I’m fine.”

    Are you sure it’s okay?

But Shine shook her head as if she didn’t care.

    “Okay.”

I skipped the first part entirely because of Shine’s words that it was okay.

Then, little witch Lucy popped up on the screen.

It seemed to be a system window that could be customized.

    [What are you like today?]

My hands began to tremble at the sound of Lucy’s vivid voice flowing from my ears.

Although it was called customizing, the basic framework could not be changed.

It was a function that could only change things like hairstyle, hair dye, and the costume you were wearing.

    I chose Lucy as is.

    [Do you like this look?]

    “Yeah!”

I answered Lucy’s question without realizing it.

Lucy smiled brightly after hearing my answer and drew stars in the sky.

    “I don’t like it.”

Behind the splendid starlight magic sounds, Shine’s grumpy voice could be heard.

I became more and more immersed in the game.

The game tells the story of Lucy, who runs a magic shop.

Go through various dungeons and collect materials.

Create high-grade items and complete missions with your companions.

Lucy’s main job was to fulfill requests from the occasional guests.

“Okay. Shine, this is how you do it.”

I handed the pad over to Shine.

She handed me the pad and held it tightly as it vibrated.

    “Like this?”

As Shine manipulated the pad, Lucy on the screen threw various ingredients into a large cauldron.

    “There are too many!”

    “in…”

Due to Shine’s manipulation error, a significant amount of unnecessary materials were used.

The recipe numbers that appear next to you start to go into the negative.

Lucy’s expression on the screen was not good, and black smoke was rising from the cauldron.

    [Is this dangerous…?]

    Lucy’s small mutter.

At the same time, the cauldron created a huge explosion.

    pop!

    [Ugh…!]

Lucy’s shop was left in shambles in the aftermath of the explosion.

Lucy, covered in pitch-black ashes, sat down on the floor with a sad expression on her face.

    “I like it.”

Shine smiled with satisfaction as she looked at Lucy, who had become a mess.

I looked away without saying a word.

When I glanced back, I caught a glimpse of the game Rain was playing.

Top. Bottom. Stop. The character controlled by Rain quickly drained the opponent’s skills.

All of them. Without getting hit even once.

I looked at Rain with a suspicious look.

Are you using your abilities while playing the game?

    [Perfect!]

Rain’s character squeezed his opponents to the point of being like rice cakes.

The opponent who was beaten so viciously was unable to hit Lane’s character even once until the end of the match.
