Chapter Index

After a pleasant breakfast, Shine and I started studying.

    A quiet office.

The sound of pens clicking and rapid typing filled the office.

Rain was also doing something on his personal laptop.

The laptop’s large body glowed yellow and had a small chick drawn on the corner.

Since I was almost done with my petty studying, I was doodling a little in the corner of my workbook when a question suddenly occurred to me.

    “Over there. Rain.”

    “Huh?”

Rain’s head rose at my call.

Her blue eyes turn to me.

    “What happened to Rain’s teammates?”

    “My teammates?”

    “Yeah.”

“Are you talking about Hughes and Lynel?”

“I don’t know their names. Were the people I met at the restaurant Rain’s team members?”

    “Yeah.”

“You seemed to be on good terms, but you suddenly disbanded the team.”

    “Yeah.”

“Didn’t Hughes and Lynel say anything?”

“Not at all. Rather, I was waiting for the team to disband.”

    “Why?”

“That’s dangerous. Everyone was waiting for their families to retire. They stayed because of me.”

“Were they all the team members?”

“Yeah. Our team worked as a minority.”

I pictured a man wearing glasses and a muscular body.

Although their abilities were unknown, they were people who left a lasting impression on me.

    “You stayed for Rain?”

“Yeah. He said he gets anxious when I’m alone.”

“How long have you been working together?”

“We’ve been together for almost 7 years?”

    “7 years?”

I opened my mouth in surprise at Rain’s answer.

How long has Rain been doing this?

Come to think of it, I didn’t know Rain’s age.

“Excuse me. How old is Rain?”

    “I’m 22 years old.”

If you’re 22, that means you’ve been doing this since you were at least 15.

I looked at her with suspicious eyes.

An appearance that makes it hard to believe he is in his 20s, and a short stature.

The sparkling fangs slightly visible between the lips add playfulness to the face.

I couldn’t believe it at all.

    “That’s a lie.”

At that moment, Shine, who was listening from the side, muttered quietly.

Hearing that voice, Rain shook his head and answered.

    “I’m not lying. I’m a 22 year old adult.”

    “No. Rain is a child.”

Shine answered Rain’s words and opened the picture book on the desk.

It was a page with a picture showing the difference between children and adults.

“Okay. If you look here, it says that this small person is a child.”

    “That’s…”

“Me, Jeff, and Lane are kids. Because books don’t lie.”

    “No! I’m an adult!”

“Rain. So you’re saying this book is wrong? Everything I’m learning is wrong?”

    “Ugh… That’s…”

“Look carefully, Rain. The tall people here are called adults. Rain is short and similar to us.”

    Rain muttered, unable to answer.

Her face slowly begins to turn red.

Judging from the way her shoulders were shaking, she looked like she wanted to cry.

I quickly got up from my seat, ran to Lane, and hugged her.

    “Jeff…”

Rain, who had been hugging me, dug into my arms.

I gave her an awkward laugh and patted her on the back.

Shine watched me like that with displeasure.

    “Shine. You can’t bully Rain.”

    “Yes.”

Amy scolded Shine, seemingly listening to the conversation.

Shine nodded obediently and apologized to Lane.

“I’m sorry, Rain. You’re an adult.”

    “Yeah.”

    Fortunately, Rain accepted the apology.

Rain, who had been in my arms, carefully got out of my arms.

Her slightly red face looked cute like an apple.

After making sure that Rain wasn’t crying, I returned to my seat.

    “Jeff, hug me too.”

As soon as I sat down, Shine came into my arms as if she had been waiting for me.

Shine reached out and hugged my waist before I could even react.

I gave her an awkward laugh at her appearance and patted her on the back like Rain.

After all, taking care of children is hard work.

In the midst of such peaceful times.

    Amy received a phone call.

    “Jin? What’s going on?”

Everyone’s eyes, including mine, Shine, Rain, and Victor, were turned to Amy.

Amy, who had our full attention, got up from her seat and started moving to another place.

    “Kids? Suddenly?”

Amy is getting further and further away.

I looked at her back and then carefully got up from my seat.

    “Jeff. Where are you?”

    “Shh.”

As I move, Shine tries to follow suit.

I signaled for her to be quiet and then walked over to the desk Amy had been using.

The chair Amy had just sat in was warm with her body heat.

I took off my shoes and climbed onto the chair.

Because of her short sitting height, I had to get up from my chair to look at her desk.

I was so curious about what Amy was doing.

I wanted to help if I could.

Because I received so much from her.

    “Hmm…”

I stood up and stroked my chin.

Because the screen of the laptop Amy was using was full of small letters.

    “Jeff. I miss you too.”

    Shine sparkled from below.

I nodded to her and made way for her.

Shine also took off her shoes like me and climbed onto the chair.

“Is this what Amy was doing?”

    “I guess so.”

    “Circumstances…. hit… plan? Evidence?”

    “It’s full of difficult words.”

    “Yeah.”

I was staring blankly at the screen when I unconsciously reached out my hand.

Small hands fidget and climb onto the keyboard.

    A familiar feeling.

    A familiar situation.

    A familiar scene.

With the coffee cooling off right next to me, it was a perfect situation.

    “Jeff. That won’t do.”

At that moment, I heard Shine’s voice, which woke me from my thoughts.

She grabbed my outstretched hand and pulled it back.

“If you touch me, Amy will scold you.”

    “Ah. Yeah.”

“Want to drink five glasses of green juice?”

    “No!”

I shook my head hurriedly at Shine’s words and jumped down from the chair.

The day I was caught eating chocolate, I had to drink five glasses as a punishment.

That day I was plagued by terrible nightmares.

I didn’t want to repeat that day’s events.

The moment Shine and I returned to our original seats, Amy, who had gone outside to make a phone call, returned.

She narrowed her eyes at us.

“You guys. Did you go to Jinhan yesterday?”

Shine and I kept our mouths shut.

A situation where we only watch each other’s expressions.

Rain was also shivering, his face turning blue.

    “That… that’s it.”

“Jeff. I told you not to get too close to Jinhan.”

Amy said with a small sigh.

    “But still…”

    “There was nothing strange, right?”

    “What’s strange?”

“I mean, feeling dizzy or having strange thoughts that you wouldn’t normally have.”

“I don’t think there was anything like that.”

    “Then that’s good.”

Amy muttered softly and walked towards us.

    Rain’s trembling grew louder.

Buzz buzz buzz. It was so loud that even the desk I was sitting at was shaking.

Amy, who was getting closer, pressed down on Lane’s head, who was shivering.

“Rain. I asked you to take good care of the kids.”

    “Ugh…”

Kook kook – The force pressing down on my head was getting stronger.

    Lane writhered in pain.

    “Whew. Everyone stand up.”

Amy, who had been pressing Lane’s head, sighed and spoke.

Shine, Rain, and I jumped up from our seats.

    “Let’s go.”

    “Where are you…?”

“You wanted to go on a mission, right?”

    “Mission…?”

Amy turned and walked back to her seat.

She put her jacket on the hanger and looked at us.

“Pack your bag. I’m going out.”

    “No!”

I nodded vigorously in response to Amy’s words.

That’s what she said, but it seemed like Jin had asked Amy for something.

    I liked wiggling my butt.

The same was true for Shine.

Shine and I stood up, carrying the dinosaur bag on our backs next to the desk.

Rain also stood next to us with his chick bag on his back.

    “Victor isn’t going?”

    “Don’t go.”

When everyone was getting ready to go out, Victor, who was just sitting there, asked me something strange, but I answered him with a look of disinterest on my face.

    “Why?”

    “It’s annoying.”

“It would be better if we all went together.”

    “I don’t like it.”

    “Victor.”

    “I hate it.”

    “Let’s go together.”

I often walked up to Victor’s desk and hung on to him.

Victor met my gaze and shut his mouth tightly.

    His stubborn eyes slowly waver.

“Victor has a dirty personality, so he won’t go with me.”

Rain’s voice was heard from behind.

Victor’s eyebrows twitched sharply at that.

    “Let’s go.”

Victor got up from his seat and gathered his clothes and belongings.

I spread my arms and cheered.

    “Yahoo!”

Lane looked at Victor in disbelief.

    Victor ignored Lane.

So the five of us left the office.

I asked Amy, who was locking the office door.

    “Amy. Where are we going?”

    “Other branches.”

    “Other branch?”

    “Yeah.”

    “Is that the mission?”

    “That’s right. That’s the mission.”

I was very disappointed in Amy’s words.

I expected there would be buildings in other places besides here.

But what I was expecting wasn’t going to a place like that, it was something a little cooler and more dangerous.

I needed a place where I could utilize all of my abilities.

“You’re not going to fight, are you?”

“Yeah. I’m just going to go check for a bit.”

    I feel a little tired.

I leaned my head against Shine and slumped my shoulders.

    Shine patted my head gently.

“Did you all bring your emblems?”

    “Yes.”

“Keep it close to your chest. If you lose it, you’ll be in big trouble?”

    “Yes.”

I took the silver emblem out of my pocket and wore it across my chest.

The rather splendid appearance sparkled in the light.

    “Victor.”

    “Why.”

“You. Are you that worried about the kids?”

Victor did not answer Amy’s question.

He turned his head away, avoiding eye contact.

Amy smiled slightly at the sight and turned around to say.

    “Let’s go!”

    Wow!

Rain Shine and I followed Amy with our arms outstretched.

After walking down a long hallway, Amy suddenly stopped in front of a tall staircase.

She took her phone out of her pocket and started tapping the screen a few times.

It looked like he was sending a message to someone.

A moment later, a large wormhole appeared before our eyes.

“Do I have to go in here again?”

    “Yeah.”

I looked at the wormhole with a reluctant face.

When I saw her swaying in an unpleasant manner, I felt my stomach churn.

    “Go first!”

Rain left us behind and ran powerfully into the wormhole.

Sook- The wormhole that swallowed Rain shuddered slightly.
