Chapter Index

After finishing our afternoon training, Shine and I joined Rain and gathered in the room.

    “So how was today’s training?”

One, two, clap, clap. One, two, clap, clap.

While I was doing gymnastics, Lane asked me with shining eyes, as if curious about what I was training about.

    “It was nothing special.”

I answered like that and kept my mouth shut.

“Jeff. You’re going the wrong way there.

    “Ah. Yeah.”

I spun my body around, adjusting my footing at Shine’s suggestion.

In the gaze that was slowly turning, the figures of Shine and Rain were seen alternately.

“Nothing happened? Victor went to be an instructor?”

    “Yeah.”

    match!

The hands raised toward the sky clapped powerfully.

Rain kept his mouth shut even as he moved his body busily.

“I’ve never seen Victor take care of someone like that. It’s very suspicious.”

    “What’s suspicious?”

    “Victor is not kind.”

I looked at Rain in silence.

    Victor was kind.

Although, I do joke around sometimes.

But that was only an expression of friendliness.

    “Rain.”

    “Huh?”

    “Victor is kind.”

Rain seemed shocked by my words and stopped moving.

The gymnast moves into the final position.

The body that had been spinning round and round suddenly stopped, and me, Shine, and Rain all finished the gymnastics in the same position.

    “The end!”

Now that today’s gymnastics was over, it was time to drink some milk.

I headed to the fridge and took out the cold milk inside.

Rain and Shine naturally brought the cups and came towards me.

    “What cup is it today?”

    “Mr. Bear Cup.”

“So said Rain, holding out the cup.

The picture printed on the mug was a bear, just as Lane had said.

A bear’s face wearing a hat and smiling brightly.

It was a little scary because the bear looked so lifelike, but it was Rain’s favorite cup.

I poured milk into the cup.

Rain, who was watching the milk trickle down, drank it all down in one go as soon as the glass was full.

    “What cup is Shine?”

    “Rabbit Cup.”

The cup that Shine held out was a cup with long, sticking out rabbit ears.

A very cute and adorable cup that me and Shine use often.

She brought mine too and handed it to me.

I sat down on the floor and poured milk into Shine and my cup.

Cold milk is always the best no matter when you drink it.

A refreshing taste that goes down smoothly.

I licked my lips and thought of cola.

Shine hasn’t brought me a Coke since the cast came off his foot.

I thought it was a little disappointing.

    “Rain.”

    “Yeah.”

    “Did you bring it?”

    “Amy isn’t here, right?”

“I said I was busy today.”

As I was heading to the sink with the cup, I screamed in surprise at the sound of two people talking behind me.

    “Rain! Shine!”

    “Huh?”

“Are you guys trying to read comics again?”

    “Want to see Jeff too?”

I stepped off the chair and put the cup in the sink, then immediately jumped down.

With the sound of footsteps going “ta-da-”, I immediately ran to Rain.

“Rain. Shine is acting weird because you keep showing him weird comic books.”

    “That’s not weird.”

    “Shine stay still.”

    “I hate it.”

Rain’s eyes widened in surprise at my actions.

    “Is it weird…?”

Rain’s trembling voice could be heard, as if he was slightly hurt.

Her small tongue twitched between her slightly parted lips.

    “Ugh… That’s it.”

I never intended to criticize other people’s tastes.

But if that taste has a negative effect on Shine, things are different.

Rain hugged the small chick bag on his back with great care.

Judging from her actions, it seemed like she had brought a comic book in her bag.

“Jeff, that’s not weird. The comics Lane brought are funny.”

“I know, Shine. The comics were fun. But the content…”

“Jeff. The content isn’t weird either. You know that. Those comics are about family.”

Shine said that and approached Rain.

Rain, who had been crouching, became triumphant when Shine took her side, and confidently held out the chick bag.

    She patted the chick’s belly.

Every time her hand pressed against the belly of the chick’s bag, the chick’s beak opened wide.

    “That’s right. It’s not weird.”

Rain’s little tongue darted out of his mouth and teased me.

I was very shocked by her appearance.

What a grown man does is just like a child.

Her appearance, which was not much different from Nana Shine’s, made people question her age.

“Rain. Take out the comic book.”

“Yeah. I couldn’t bring much because I was afraid Amy would find out.”

Lane sat down on the floor and put his hand into the chick’s mouth.

Her hands rummaged through the chick’s stomach and pulled out three comic books.

This time, just like last time, the cover of the comic book had pretty girls drawn on it.

Shine naturally handed me the comic book and handed it to me.

    “See Jeff too.”

    “I…”

    “That’s not weird.”

    “But still…”

Shine approached me hesitantly and put a comic book in my hand.

I fiddled with the comic book and watched Lane’s expression.

She opened the comic book with a happy expression, seemingly oblivious to what had happened earlier.

“Shine. What I brought this time is…”

Enjoying a hobby you like with someone else.

That must have been quite enjoyable.

Rain has now found a good partner who shares his hobbies.

Seeing Rain looking so happy, I couldn’t say anything, so I let out a small sigh and sat down next to them.

Flap flap – Little fingers turn the pages of a comic book.

    Pretty pictures and pretty lines.

    Even the background is refreshing.

The content of the book was nothing special.

    But it was fun.

And I even felt a tingling sensation.

I stroked the cover of the comic book with a strange expression on my face.

“How is it? How is it?”

    “What do you think…”

    “The content. How was it?”

    “Just…”

I recalled the contents of the comic book.

A story about the daily life of a sister who is excellent at everything and a younger sister who is a little lacking.

My sister was excellent at everything she did.

My younger brother felt inferior as he watched that scene.

My sister felt pressured by everything in her daily life.

I had to excel. Always better than my younger sibling. Always better than others.

Eventually, she bursts under the pressure.

The content of the book, which contains the daily life that happens in the process, was, to be honest, interesting.

    That’s quite a lot too.

I could say that the moment when my younger brother’s feelings of inferiority began to change slightly was truly the best.

I was curious about the contents of the next volume, so I glanced at the book Rain was holding and answered.

    “That’s… interesting.”

“Right? I knew you’d think so too.”

I returned the comic book to Lane, my mouth watering.

After receiving the comic book from me, she handed me the next volume she was holding.

“Are you curious about the next volume?”

    “Uh… Uh.”

I nodded with a trembling expression as I handed the comic book over to Lane.

I hesitated while holding the comic book in my hand, then slowly opened my mouth.

The small tongue in my mouth didn’t move easily.

If there had been cola at a time like this, it would have been easier to talk.

    “Sorry.”

    “Huh? What?”

“I apologize for speaking harshly about this book earlier. I’m sorry, Rain.”

I apologized, holding Rain’s hand tightly.

Rain, who had been blankly staring at my face, started rolling his eyes here and there in confusion.

A weeping mouth and slightly flushed cheeks.

Lane finally answered, pulling his hand away from mine.

    “Ah… Yeah. It’s okay!”

Rain took a step back. She seemed slightly surprised by her own actions, and took two more steps back.

She stood a considerable distance away from me, put her hand on her chest and let out a small sigh.

    “Jeff is nice…”

    “Are you nice?”

“Yeah… Other people don’t apologize or anything.”

Lane sat down, caressing the comic book with a lonely face.

    “That’s right. Jeff is nice.”

Shine nodded in agreement with Rain’s words.

    She didn’t stop.

    “And cute.”

    “And it’s cool.”

    “And…”

Shine hesitates and chooses her words.

I didn’t realize how fortunate it was that her vocabulary was a little lacking.

I ran to Shine, who kept mumbling rude words, and covered her mouth in a hurry.

    “Shh.”

    “Yeah.”

Shine nodded obediently and returned to focusing on the comic book.

    “Hey. Jeff.”

    “Huh?”

As I took my hand off Shine’s mouth and sat down next to her, Rain approached me cautiously and said.

“Should I bring more next time?”

I opened the comic book that had been in my hands without saying a word.

I nodded as I glanced at the pages that turned lightly.

    “Only when Amy isn’t around…”

    Only when Amy isn’t around.

Rain smiled happily at my condition and hugged me.

My body fell backwards due to the sudden weight.

    “Rain… It’s heavy.”

Rain, who was on top of me, didn’t let go of the strength in his arms that were holding me.

I looked at Shine with eyes that asked for help.

She seemed to not notice my gaze as she was concentrating on her comic book.

The cover of the book was a bit provocative.

Rain, who had been hugging me silently for a while, suddenly sat up.

    “No!”

A scream almost like a scream.

Lane quickly reached out and snatched the comic book I was holding and Shine’s.

Shine’s eyes were wide open, as if startled by her sudden actions.

    “Amy’s footsteps!”

    Amy’s footsteps?

I listened quietly to what she said.

But I didn’t hear anything like Amy’s footsteps.

Lane, who was stuffing comic books into her bag in a fuss, threw the chick bag into the pile of dolls.

The chick flew away and landed, perfectly camouflaged inside the doll.

After that, about 30 seconds passed.

As if on cue, the door opened and Amy came in.

    “You were quiet, right?”

Amy said so and checked the inside of the room.

Amy’s eyes quickly scanned the room.

I looked at Rain in silence.

    She was incredibly nervous.

To the point where anyone would think it was suspicious.

I grabbed Lane’s hand and pulled her back.

Shine must have noticed my intentions as she pushed her behind me.

    “What were you doing?”

Amy took off the jacket she was wearing and walked toward us.

    Rain’s tremors were getting worse.

I shouted loudly as I desperately tried to come up with an excuse.

    “Gymnastics!”

    Yes, that’s right.

    We were doing gymnastics.

Shine, Rain, and I all started doing the gymnastic warm-up pose at the same time.

    “Oh my.”

At that sight, Amy took out her cell phone.

    “Start!”

The second gymnastics session started today.
