Chapter Index

A crunchy texture that melts in your mouth.

The sweetness that lingers on your tongue brings a smile to your face.

    “Rain.”

    “Yeah.”

I called out to Rain while munching on cookies.

She still had her hair wrapped.

It still looked like it hurt from getting hit by Amy.

“Why did you bring those comic books?”

    “Because Shine asked me to.”

    “Shine?”

    “Yeah.”

Rain’s expression remained fixed even while he was talking to me.

I watched Rain’s expression and pushed the snack I was eating in front of her.

    “Eat rain too.”

    “Thank you…”

Rain stuffed his mouthful of candy with a tearful face.

Worried that she might get sick, I even pushed the milk I was drinking back to her.

    “K…”

Rain gulped down my milk in one shot without a moment’s hesitation.

I looked at that lane and said.

“Excuse me. Does Rain usually read comic books like that?”

    “No!”

    Rain’s appearance in strong denial.

She said, tapping the table with her small palm.

“Not at all. Do you understand? Jeff, don’t get me wrong. I just brought it because Shine asked me to. ”

“But. Shine probably didn’t know there was such a comic book…”

At my words, Rain shut his mouth.

Rain with tears welling up in his eyes.

I said with an awkward laugh.

“The comic was fun, Rain. But I’m saying this because I’m worried that it might be a bit too strong for Shine.”

    “Me… Really?”

“Yeah. Really. I read a comic book with Rain yesterday.”

    “Yeah…”

Rain nodded, wiping his eyes at my consolation.

I sighed as I looked at Rain.

Rain seemed more childish than Shine, who was really a child.

I heard you’re similar in age to Amy. Is that true?

“Then… Then can I bring something a little softer?”

    Rain asks questions carefully.

I looked at her, then turned my gaze to the toy house.

    “Ask Amy.”

    “That’s not right!”

Rain shouted urgently at my answer.

“That… Well. If you come to my room when Amy isn’t there, I’ll show you.”

    “To Rain’s room?”

“Yeah… If you come with Shine and Jeff, I’ll show you the comic books I’ve collected.”

At Rain’s gaze that was sparkling with anticipation, I nodded with an awkward smile.

The comics were quite entertaining, but I had no desire to read them again.

I probably would never go to Rain’s room.

    “Really? I promised!”

Rain flaps his arms as if he has regained his energy.

She ate the cookies without fail with an excited look on her face.

As Lane finished eating all the cookies on her plate, Shine and Amy came out of the toy house.

Shine had a rare gloomy expression on her face.

Shine was about to run straight to me, but then stopped and started to look at Amy.

I smiled slightly at the sight of Shine getting scolded by Amy inside the toy house.

Carefully, Shine approached me and plopped down next to me.

I asked Shine, who looked gloomy.

    “Shine.”

    “Yeah…”

    “What did you hear inside?”

    “Various.”

“You won’t do to me what you did to me yesterday, right?”

“Yeah. I learned it from Amy. It’s really bad to do something like that without the other person’s consent. ”

    I learned really well.

I smiled brightly and patted Shine’s head roughly.

Shine, who was enjoying my touch with her eyes closed, leaned against me and asked a small question.

“Jeff. Can we do what we did yesterday?”

    “No.”

    “Yeah…”

Amy took a cola out of the fridge and started sipping it.

I stared at him with my mouth open as he emptied a large plastic bottle.

    My cola was disappearing.

    Amy looked very tired.

Amy drank an entire bottle of cola and headed straight to bed.

    “Amy. Are you okay?”

“Okay. I’ll take a break. Don’t cause trouble and be quiet.”

This is the first time I’ve seen Amy napping.

She fell down on the bed and soon fell asleep.

    “That’s weird…”

Shine looked at Amy and muttered softly.

    “What’s weird?”

    “It’s nothing.”

Shine shook her head in response to my question and jumped down from her seat.

“Jeff. Lane. Shall we do gymnastics?”

Snap – A blue light burst out before my eyes.

As I looked around in surprise, Rain, who was sitting next to me, jumped down from his seat.

    “Jeff doesn’t do it?”

    “Huh? Huh. I have to…”

The start time of the gymnastics was a bit unexpected.

If it were a normal day, it would usually start well after lunchtime.

Rain and Shine getting ready to start gymnastics.

I too jumped down from my seat and went next to the two men, taking up a ready position.

    “It’s going well…”

The gymnastics started with Shine’s small muttering.

Since it was a movement I always did, my body automatically took the next movement even though I was thinking about something else.

    One, two, one, two.

Shake your body to a steady rhythm.

    “Over there…”

    “Huh?”

    While doing gymnastics, Lane said.

“Is this really a height increase?”

“Yeah. Jeff and I have already grown a centimeter? ”

I nodded to Shine’s answer and moved on to the next action.

The body was spinning round and round, and Rain, who was seen furtively, had a sad expression on his face.

    “Why am I not growing?”

After finishing the gymnastics, we stopped in place and slowly caught our breath.

“Shall we go see the giraffe?”

    Shine told us.

Before Rain and I could answer, Shine moved first.

Shine approaches the long-necked giraffe, pulling Rain and I by the arms.

Arriving in front of the giraffe, she immediately brought her body towards it.

I walked up to Shine and measured her height.

The magnetic mark held right up to my head indicated 127cm.

    Next is me.

I too, like Shine, approached the giraffe and pressed my back to it.

Shine’s hand passes over my head.

    I’m also 127cm

It was no different from Shine.

    Finally it was Rain’s turn.

She approached the giraffe with a frightened expression on her face.

    Is Rain really that short?

The last time I checked her height, it was 125cm.

Lane leaned against the wall and shut his eyes tightly.

I held the magnetic mark over her head.

I raised my finger slightly as I watched Rain tremble.

    “How many… How many?”

    “126cm.”

    “Me… Really?”

Rain’s eyes, which had been tightly shut, open at my answer.

She immediately turns around and checks her height.

    “Are you really that tall…?”

She looked at the magnetic mark with trembling eyes as if in disbelief.

Instead of answering, I let out an awkward laugh.

    “It’s been 10 years!”

    Rain looked very happy.

Tears began to form in her eyes.

Rain, with tears of joy in his eyes, came to me and began to cry in my arms.

I patted Rain’s back, unable to do anything.

    I didn’t lie.

    Because Rain actually grew taller.

    It wasn’t just 126cm.

Shine also approached Rain and patted her head.

Rain, who had been crying in my arms, smiled while sniffling.

    “Thank you so much!”

    “What?”

    “You taught me gymnastics!”

Rain grabbed Shine’s hand and shook it roughly.

She seemed genuinely grateful to Shine.

    “Thanks Jeff too!”

This time I waved my hands wildly too.

“If you keep doing this, you’ll be able to grow taller, right?”

    “Maybe so?”

I nodded my head at the effect of gymnastics that was better than I thought.

I didn’t know adults could grow taller too.

If Amy starts doing gymnastics, won’t she be over 2 meters tall?

I shook my head, imagining the sight of a large Amy.

I took out a notepad and wrote down my height, then yawned heavily.

    Nap time was slowly approaching.

I ate a lot of food and snacks too.

I was supposed to be studying, but since Amy was asleep, I figured it would be okay to bring my nap time up a little.

    “Jeff are you sleepy?”

    “Yeah.”

I nodded to Shine’s question and went straight to bed.

I took a pillow and lay down next to Amy, avoiding her who was sprawled out in the middle.

I envied Amy’s long, stretched-out arms and legs.

I was playing with Amy’s arm, then I quickly laid down.

    “Rain taking a nap too?”

“They said that if you take a nap, you grow taller?”

    “Yeah.”

After answering Shine’s question, Lane immediately brought a pillow and lay down next to Amy.

Shine came up next to me.

I tensed up at her suspicious movements and cautiously opened my mouth.

“Shine… You’re not doing anything weird again, are you?”

“If Jeff doesn’t like it, I won’t do it.”

I sighed in relief at Shine’s answer and turned around to lie down.

Shine came right up behind me.

The position was a little uncomfortable because we were close enough that I could hear each other breathing.

The moment I was about to open my mouth to say something, Shine’s arms gently wrapped around my neck.

    “Shine?”

    “Yeah.”

“I told you not to do this kind of thing.”

    “Yeah. Just hugging.”

Actually, Shine just hugged me and didn’t do anything.

    “You don’t like this either?”

    I hesitated to answer.

Sleeping with Shine in my arms was something I did often.

When I didn’t answer, Shine spoke in a trembling voice.

    “If you don’t like it, I won’t do it…”

    “No! It’s okay!”

I grabbed Shine’s hand, which was slipping away, and closed my mouth in surprise at the hand moving without me knowing.

    “Are you okay?”

Shine’s voice is heard from behind.

There was a small laugh in her voice.

    “Yeah…”

I answered quietly and lowered my head.

    Shine really didn’t do anything.

    My face feels hot.

The contents of the comic book that came to mind did not disappear.

No matter how desperately I tried to forget, I couldn’t come to my senses because of the warm feeling of Shine behind my back and her strong body scent.

    “Over there. Shine.”

    “Huh?”

“Something like this. Doesn’t it look a little strange?”

    “Is it weird?”

    “Ugh… a little bit.”

“Isn’t that weird? Isn’t that what you usually do?”

    “Is that so…?”

    “Yeah.”

    I kept my mouth shut.

I wondered if there was a case where an ordinary family slept so close together and so sticky.

Shine’s arm, which was wrapped around his neck, began to move little by little.

A small hand stroked my shoulder, caressing my skin.

    “Shine. Ticklish.”

    “Yeah. Sorry.”

Shine answered with a small smile.

Her small breaths dispersed as they touched my neck.
