Chapter Index

After watching [The Little Witch’s Great Adventure], while I was nodding my head to the ending song, Amy came back.

    I stopped moving urgently.

I was so excited that I almost danced.

I glanced around to see if Amy was watching me, but she just kept waving the black envelope in her hand and talking.

    “I bought coffee milk.”

Coffee milk, various candies, and cookies poured out of the black bag Amy was carrying.

Shine and I immediately hung on the table and shook our bodies.

    “I have this.”

Shine was the first to reach out and pick up a large lollipop.

How can you eat something bigger than the palm of your hand?

I reached out and picked up a cup of coffee milk and a small cookie.

    About ten.

“Did you brush them all? Don’t forget to brush them again if you eat them again.”

I was deeply troubled by Amy’s words.

Eating a few cookies won’t cause cavities.

But after eating the cookies, if I didn’t brush my teeth, Amy was sure to get upset.

I don’t like brushing my teeth, but I want to eat cookies.

At the moment when two conflicting feelings collided, Shine removed the candy wrapper without a second thought.

A rustling sound could be heard, and the sweet scent of candy began to spread.

As I looked at Shine with wavering eyes, she flicked the candy as if she was trying to show off.

    “It’s delicious… ?”

    “Yeah.”

I, who was blankly staring at Shine, also opened the cookie packaging.

You can just wipe it again.

After our delicious snack time, Amy led us to the bathroom.

The three stand side by side and brush their teeth.

It’s annoying, but it’s something that has to be done.

I brushed my teeth thoroughly because I had experienced how painful it is to get cavities.

I went outside, changed into my pajamas, and threw myself straight into bed.

A soft blanket comfortably wraps your body.

Shine also climbs into bed with me and gets under the covers.

I looked at Amy with my head sticking out from under the blanket.

She was sitting at the table organizing papers.

    “Amy, aren’t you sleeping?”

    “I’ll be fine soon.”

    Why can’t this be done?

I thought as I squirmed under the covers.

Amy had to fall asleep quickly so I could drink the coffee I had hidden away.

But now, Amy is not sleeping because she is processing paperwork.

    “Come quickly.”

I threw off the blanket and patted the bed with my small arms.

Amy, who was watching me like that, let out a small laugh.

“Go to sleep first, I’ll be there soon.”

    But Amy was stubborn.

    Her will seems unbreakable.

I let out a small sigh and went into bed.

I started to look for a gap under the blanket.

While Amy was distracted by her paperwork, she planned to sneak out, find the hidden coffee, and secretly drink it in the bathroom.

I started to crawl out of the blanket slowly.

    “Jeff?”

    “Oops… .”

    I looked back hurriedly.

Shine was looking at me, her head sticking out from under the blanket.

    “Shine, didn’t you sleep?”

    “Jeff isn’t sleeping either.”

    “Ugh… .”

Shine’s sparkling gaze directed at me.

Shine doesn’t look like she’ll fall asleep easily.

Eventually, with no other choice, I went back under the covers.

The feel of the soft blanket and the warmth covering my whole body slowly make me feel sleepy.

My drooping eyelids are so heavy.

    But I couldn’t fall asleep.

    I bit my lip.

A faint pain began to drive away the drowsiness a little.

In the quiet room, the sound of Amy’s pen clicking for a long time finally stopped.

I peeked my head out from under the blanket and looked at Amy.

She got up from her seat and stretched, as if trying to loosen up her stiff body.

    “Are you done?”

    “You weren’t sleeping?”

I spoke to Amy through half-closed eyes.

She looked surprised at me, still not asleep, and said:

    “I didn’t sleep either.”

The blanket next to me stirred, and Shine’s face popped up.

    She wasn’t sleeping either.

    “It’s so late.”

Amy rubbed her eyes tiredly and climbed onto the bed where we were lying.

A sleeping space that is no different from usual is created.

I’m lying in the same position as Shine Amy.

I desperately held my eyelids shut.

    You must not fall asleep.

After Amy’s irregular breathing became even, Shine also became quiet as if she had fallen asleep.

I raised my body slightly and pressed Shine’s cheek.

    Soft cheeks.

But Shine didn’t open her eyes.

I sigh in relief and crawl out from under the covers.

The sound of clothes and blankets rustling is loud.

I walk slowly towards where the coffee I had hidden was.

Luckily, the coffee mix was still there.

I picked it up and headed to the bathroom, where I started filling the cup I used to brush my teeth with hot water.

    Hot steaming tap water.

Pour the coffee mix over it and start stirring.

The fragrant scent of coffee spreads throughout the bathroom.

I stuck my tongue out and licked the coffee.

Coffee that contained hot air was not easy to drink.

I held the cup of coffee in both hands and started blowing on it.

Contrary to my desire to cool down quickly, I keep feeling sleepy.

A head that nods and shakes.

I find it difficult to control my swaying body, so I collapse on the bathroom floor.

    “Hoo… Hoo… .”

As the hot heat began to dissipate, I began to drink my coffee.

The sweetness that disappears on the tip of your tongue and the bitterness that lingers at the end.

The taste of coffee after a long time.

I could finish the coffee in no time.

As the warm liquid entered my stomach, my drowsiness only grew.

He touches her cheek with blurry eyes.

The softness of the cheeks that are distorted here and there.

I stood up, catching my breath.

The benefits of coffee came quickly.

    Blurry vision becomes clear.

The heaviness in my eyelids, which had always felt heavy, disappeared.

I came out of the bathroom, my body stiff with sleepiness shaking.

    There is no problem now.

I moved stealthily once more and grabbed Amy’s credit card in my hand.

The black card on the table easily falls into my hand.

If you go out, you will need money.

With Amy’s credit card, simple transportation expenses should be no problem.

I moved carefully, opened the door, and went out into the hallway.

The hallway, which was always brightly lit, had its lights turned off here and there.

As I stared into the dark space, I shivered with an unknown chill.

I unfolded the map in my head and started walking.

The sound of slippers on small feet echoed through the empty hallway.

It was hard to find the usual crowd of people.

If it weren’t for the occasional casual walk by, people wearing slippers and casual clothes, I definitely wouldn’t have been able to move.

I stopped in an unlit section of the hallway and swallowed.

It was a dark area. But it wasn’t so dark that I couldn’t see ahead.

I ran with all my might, moving my legs.

The sound of footsteps “tadadada” echoed through the empty hallway.

A quickly passing section with the lights off.

I arrived in a bright space once again.

I walked slowly in brightly lit places.

Then, in the section where the lights are off, run with all your might again.

After a while, I was able to arrive at the large circular staircase where I had arrived with Amy.

    “Gasp… .”

    I swallowed dry saliva.

    I forgot.

To get out of here, I had to climb those tall stairs.

As Amy said, there was no elevator, so I had to climb the stairs on my own.

I looked up the stairs with fear-filled eyes.

A huge pillar that stretches so high that it seems as if there will be no end.

    But I couldn’t give up.

I want to see the movie.

I slowly relaxed and started climbing the stairs with a solemn expression.

His shortened legs could only climb the stairs one step at a time.

I was moving so hard that I stopped in the middle and looked back.

It felt like we had climbed for quite some time, but the height wasn’t much different from before.

I continued to climb the stairs, out of breath.

Pass the floor where Ravin was.

By continuing to walk, I was able to reach the floor of the model park.

I paused for a moment and looked at the model park.

The bright sunlight had disappeared and a moon radiating a soft light had risen.

The wide open night park somehow created a dreamy atmosphere.

The refreshing breeze blowing gently gave off a sweet scent, as if it contained the scent of the moon.

Unfortunately, I have to leave now.

    I climbed the stairs again.

People around me were looking at me, but I didn’t ask them for help.

    Gasping for breath.

A chest that rises and falls rapidly.

The sound of my pounding heart rang in my ears.

Exhausted, I collapse on the stairs.

A sneak peek at the stairs.

But there is still no end in sight.

At that tremendous height, I lay down on the corner of the stairs.

    “Black… .”

    Sadness comes over me.

Why do I have to go through all this trouble?

    Blurred vision, hot eyes.

I raise my hands and cover my face.

The hard stairs hurt my back.

People started to approach me as I groaned in the corner of the stairs.

“Hey kid. Are you okay? Where does it hurt?”

    I shook my head.

I get up from my lying position and sit down on the stairs.

“Then why are you crying? Are you lost?”

“No… I have to climb the stairs.”

“Where are you going? Should I help you?”

I put my hand down and wiped away my tears.

There was a woman sitting there with her gaze blurry and her face full of worry.

She was wearing a white gown, sitting on the steps as if meeting my gaze.

I stared at the orange hair falling over the white gown as if in a trance, and opened my mouth with difficulty.

“I’m going to see the movie.”

    “Movie version?”

“That’s why I have to go outside.”

    “You’re going outside?”

She turned and looked at the tall pillars.

“Did you mean to climb all these stairs?”

    “Yes… .”

“It looks too hard for you.”

    I nodded to her words.

It was such a hard job.

“Going out can be helped without much difficulty, but… .”

Seeing her trailing off as if something was bothering her, I reached out and grabbed her arm.

    “Help me!”

    “Umm… .”

She reaches out and hugs my body.

He holds my body firmly with his hands that do not feel any discomfort.

    “Okay. I’ll help you.”

    “Thank you!”

I said goodbye, wiping away my tears.

He is a very kind person.

    “What’s your name?”

    “I’m Jeff.”

    “I am Mary.”

A woman who introduced herself as Mary began to climb the stairs at a rapid pace.

It was a speed incomparable to the speed at which I moved with my short legs.

As we were climbing for a while, everyone around us simultaneously took out their cell phones.

Alarm sounds coming from all directions.

The small alarm sound that announced the arrival of a message was joined by hundreds of others, creating a huge sound.

Mary also took out her cell phone.

    “Just a moment… .”

She checked her phone with a serious expression.

In the sudden situation, I just rolled my eyes and looked around.

Everyone who was looking at their phones started glancing at me.

    “Mary. People are weird.”

    “Hmm?”

    “Everyone is glancing at me.”

He lowered his head as if avoiding their burdensome gaze and whispered quietly in Mary’s ear.

Mary, who was looking at her phone screen, spoke to me in a trembling voice.

“Jeff… . Did you sneak out by any chance?”

    “Yes!?”

I was startled and shook my body.

    How can Mary not know?

The fact that I sneaked out of the room.

    Amy didn’t even catch on.

It was clear that Shine was also asleep.

What I’m saying is that my plan was perfect.

    “How did you know?”

Mary started making a phone call somewhere with an awkward smile.

    “Yes. Amy? It’s Mary.”

    “Amy?”

I was startled and shook my body.

    Did Mary call Amy?

The small voice coming from the other end of the phone was definitely Amy’s.

She was asking Mary’s location in a calm voice.

    [Where are you now?]

“Here are the stairs near the model park.”

    [Jeff, are you with me?]

“Yes. I was sitting on the stairs crying.”

[Thank goodness. Just wait a minute.]

I was so shocked that I just opened my mouth in shock.

Mary ended the call and opened her mouth with an awkward laugh.

“Sorry Jeff. I don’t think I can take you outside.”

    “No! No!”

I started to struggle with all my might.

Flapping legs, hands swinging in all directions.

But Mary wouldn’t let go of my body.

Instead, he held me tightly and prevented me from moving my body.

    “No! I have to go!”

After struggling for a while, I was able to spot Amy coming up the stairs.

She slowly walked up the stairs and offered Mary her hand.

I was frozen and unable to move as I was carried into Amy’s arms.

    “Jeff. Why did you leave?”

Amy’s voice was no different than usual.

She asked me as if she was purely curious as to why I left.

Amy’s reaction was different from what I had expected, which was that she would get scolded a lot, so I opened my mouth cautiously.

    “That… I want to see the movie… .”

    “Movie version?”

    “Yes… .”

    “What kind?”

    “It’s the movie version of [The Little Witch’s Great Adventure]… . It’s being released this time… .”

“Is that what you wanted to see?”

    “Yes… .”

Amy smiled slightly at my answer and rubbed my back.

I buried my head in her arms.

    “Can’t I go outside?”

    “It’s hard right now.”

    “But I want to see that… .”

    “I can show you that.”

    “Huh?”

I looked at Amy with a puzzled look. She just smiled in an unknown way.

Finally, my escape story came to an end.

When I returned to the room in Amy’s arms, Shine was sitting on the bed with a very angry expression on her face.

    “I’m back… .”

As I waved my hand with an awkward smile, Shine let out a big sigh.
