    Chapter 340

    Chapter 340

    Otherworld Demon King Survival Guide.

    Episode 340: Dimensional Monsters (8)

    -Boom!

The flesh monsters, engulfed in flames, are crushed by the golems.

    -Crunch!

Golems had fists as large as their bodies.

Just dropping their fists generated power similar to a full swing from a sledgehammer. How could anyone withstand that with bare flesh?

    -Thudthudthud!

But the flesh monsters were relentless. They charged endlessly, indifferent to their comrades’ deaths, and several climbed over the golems’ backs and invaded.

    “Lumica! Water!”

    “Got it!”

    -Swoosh!

It’s dangerous to deal with a creature on fire. We doused it with water to put out the flames, then engaged it with the goblin shield formation that had been waiting.

    “Kill them, Keruk!”

“Don’t let a single one escape!”

    -Pffft!

    “Guhaaaaa!”

The same progression as last time. These flesh monsters couldn’t break through the infantry formation. We were stabbing them all to death.

    “Shaa! Master!”

    Sharan pointed upwards.

    “Oh no!”

I saw it now, the sheer number of monsters had piled up in front of the walls, creating a mountain. What was this, World War Z? The walls weren’t that high, so it’s possible, but some were starting to climb over and fall down.

    -Thud!

    “Juria! Go deal with them!”

    “Yes! My Lord!”

The agile Lamias spread out to both sides of the wall, slicing through the monsters with long spears. Since there was a ditch, there’s no need to fight with the fire extinguished.

That was how we managed to fend off the wave.

“It’s done! The ones grouped inside are all burnt!”

Serinu, who had been observing from above, came down to report. Right, they were all bunched up in that narrow place, burning. Naturally, they would melt away after some time.

    -Silence.

As evidence, no more enemies were coming over.

    “Buril! Check the wounded!”

    “None, Keruk!”

    “Good!”

With that, the first round of combat was over.

    -Flames.

The castle was still burning. Even after we expelled all the monsters, it remained ablaze. What could possibly be left inside? Once the flames died down and the smoke cleared, we could investigate.

Whatever was inside, if it perished in the fire, there’s nothing more we can do. Let’s finish this.

“Well then, everyone! Good job fighting!”

Everyone fought valiantly. We cornered the enemies and battled efficiently. Look, even demons from hell couldn’t match us. Thorough preparation and vigilance were the keys to victory.

“Let’s pull back the formation for now!”

For now, let’s retreat. We’d assess what was left once the fire was completely out.

    -Silence.

Just as our soldiers were about to withdraw…

    -Crunch.

    -Crack.

    “Huh?”

It sounded like a building was collapsing, and then, rumble. Black soot began to fall from the charred exterior of the building.

    “Uh-oh?!”

    Could the building be collapsing?

    “Everyone! Execute an emergency retreat!”

    “Kerraaaa! Emergency retreat!”

My soldiers immediately began an emergency retreat. The building’s integrity had been compromised due to being filled with flesh, and the muscles inside struggling while on fire were enough to cause the collapse.

    I thought so, but…

    -Crunch!

    -Boom!

The situation seemed far more serious.

    “Shaa! Master!”

“Hey, hey! Look at that! Something’s breaking out of its shell!”

What I witnessed was truly astonishing. Egmont. There’s a chocolate called Egmont. When you broke the chocolate shell, a toy emerged, like a toy food product.

Originally, it’s supposed to be an imitation of the American Kinder Joy, but what I was seeing now was a literal Egmont…!

    -Crunch!

    Like a shell…

The walls of the inner keep began to break…

    -Rumble!

And from within that shell, a huge, grotesque monster wriggled out!

    “Kyaaaaaaah!”

That monstrosity was as horrifying as its scream!

    “Damn!”

Half-burnt skin. Melted muscles. Covered with blisters and pustules from burns. Such was the twisted, giant flesh monster that emerged from the destruction of the castle!

    “What… what is that!”

“A demon so inferior it’s unbearable!”

    “Kerraaaa! Demon King! We’re doomed!”

    “Krrrrk!”

    “Gyusaaa!”

The overwhelming presence of the creature caused my subordinates to gape in shock, nearly falling into panic! For my elite troops to be thrown into such chaos…! It’s true that it was a terrifying monster, but if we panicked here, it’s the end!

    “Raaaargh!”

I immediately draw in magical energy and shout loudly!

“Keep retreating! It’s slow! We can escape! Commanders, quickly gather your soldiers and retreat!”

    “Kerraaaa! Understood!”

“Krrk! Guys, snap out of it!”

    -Thudthud!

Thus, my subordinates, coming to their senses, retreated again.

    “Kuuwoooooo!”

    The flesh giant bellowed.

    “Crazy…!”

    -Screech.

Was it its head? Its eyes, like glossy black beads, looked this way while its mouth, filled with all sorts of teeth, opened wide.

    And then.

    -Kung!

It started to shake off the shell made from the walls of the building and began to crawl up. The monstrosity born in the castle took its first steps! But as expected… it was slow. Yet, it was terrifyingly so.

“Indeed, it didn’t revive properly! Guys! Don’t be afraid! It’s just an incomplete creature! It’s not dangerous at all! So stay calm and retreat!”

    “Kerak!”

    “Y-yes…! Kyuse is right!”

    “Karuti!”

    -Flapflap!

The Evil Eye quickly came to my side.

“Do you know what that is?”

“No idea! It’s so disgusting I feel like I’m going crazy!”

Even from a demon’s perspective, it seems horrifying.

“But Kyuse! We can beat it!”

    “It’s so big though?!”

“It’s weakening! Probably because of an unstable hatching, it’s not in perfect condition! Plus, it grew too quickly without food! Such a monster couldn’t have been created in just a few days! It’s clearly a defective product!”

Karuti shouted urgently, but everything she said made sense and aligned with my judgments.

“So, will it die on its own then?”

“In that state, it can’t sustain life. It will collapse on its own. But we still don’t know much about it. Maybe it could use some dark magic by using itself as a sacrifice or fuel! And we can’t give it time to regenerate! It might transform into a smaller form by consuming its own flesh!”

    That meant…

“We have to kill it now, Kyuse! Now is our chance while it’s weak!”

    “Okay. Got it, Karuti.”

    -Silence.

    I stopped in my tracks.

Regular soldiers were useless against such a giant. It was like trying to destroy a tank with just infantry.

Then, someone had to step up here.

“Vanessa! Lilriel! Fallen Angels! Everyone come here! The rest, keep retreating!”

We needed warriors with firepower and skill!

    “Kuuwooooo!”

    -Boomboomboom!

Finally, the hideous giant broke through the outer wall and crawled out. It stretched its repulsive head towards us, rolling its eyes.

Of course, there’s no way it could reach us.

It’s terrifying, but it’s slow and weak.

There’s no need to be scared.

“Are you really thinking of fighting? No matter how inferior and repulsive that species is, its size…”

“No! We fight! Let’s bombard it with firepower! It’s so slow it can’t even attack!”

    “Indeed!”

“Lady Vanessa, keep watching, and help if you think we need it. Lilriel! Form a flying formation with the fallen angels!”

    “Understood!”

    -Swoosh!

Lilriel immediately aligned the fallen angels.

    “Good. Then Serinu!”

    “Why me!”

“Bring the pixies! Initiate Flying Kyuse!”

    “Okay!”

    -Vroom!

The pixies immediately grabbed my arms, legs, and body. I’ve gotten used to this by now. Soon, my body lifted off the ground.

    “Serinu. How are you feeling?”

    “It’s not too hard!”

    “Good. Lilriel! Fly up!”

    -Flap!

The fallen angels also took flight. We gathered at one point and ascended to an appropriate altitude.

    “Kuuwooooo!”

We looked down at the roaring flesh giant below.

“Certainly. From here, we can attack unilaterally.”

“Yes. Let’s aim for the head first. Gather the angels’ power and hit that head with about 60% of your full strength.”

“60%, got it. Then, after that, will you attack, Demon King?”

    “You’ve seen it.”

My power had also grown quite a bit.

“Okay! Fallen Angels! Black Flame Cannon focused attack formation!”

    “Yes!”

    “Understood!”

    -Swoosh!

The angels positioned themselves in the air, preparing to attack. Magical energy began to overflow from their arms, soon forming an inhuman magical circle.

    -Sizzle!

    A fierce fireball was created.

    “Lilriel! Now!”

    “Fire!”

    -Pop.

    A purple radiance burst forth.

    “Black Flame Cannon!”

    “Black Flame Cannon!”

    “Black Flame Cannon!”

The Black Flame Cannons of the fallen angels merged together, descending like a meteor. The moment that evil fireball struck the head of the flesh giant…

    -BOOOOOM!

An overwhelming explosion occurred, caving in its huge head.

    “Kuuooooo!”

In human terms, its skull shattered, and its brain burst out. The giant staggered and fell to the ground, struggling to cover its head, but with its abnormal body, it couldn’t perform such actions effectively.

    Watching this, I…

    “Dark Flame!”

    Prepared the Dark Flame Blast…

    “Blast!!!”

    And unleashed it.

    -Whoosh!

The concentrated dark magic energy shot down like a spear of nightmare.
