    Chapter 314

    Chapter 314

    Otherworld Demon King Survival Guide.

    Episode 314: Lady Vera (5)

    Karuti’s explanation was as followed:

Demons were a term used to collectively refer to a wide variety of races, each with different characteristics. For example, our Bellacruel bloodline could be described as a race characterized by the immense “productivity” of the Duchess.

In other words, we specialized in production and quantity. Just as we had these traits, other demon races had unique traits specific to them.

“Among them, there’s a bloodline most famous for their association with magic. They’re called the Royzart, and they’re currently allied with a race of magical beasts that possess dimensional abilities.”

“So… you mean these guys, who are great at magic, have teamed up with magical beasts that have special dimensional powers? And they’re planning to invade the middle realm?”

“Yep! That’s right, Brother Kyuse! You summed it up perfectly!”

“Are you saying their technology is better than ours? We’ve been preparing for this for quite a while too, haven’t we?”

Karuti acted quickly, and the Duchess, understanding the importance of the middle realm, spared no expense in her investments.

As a result, not only could Karuti’s Evil Eyes support me, but last time, even a treasure chest flew in and bestowed gifts upon me.

It took quite some time for the Bellacruel bloodline to get this far as well.

Could it be that the Royzart bloodline managed to close that gap so suddenly? If that’s true, they might outpace us moving forward. If powerful demons started crossing over en masse, my army might be unable to cope.

“Yes… It’s not good news, but because of the dimensional beasts’ power, their situation might be better than ours! So we must stay vigilant!”

    “Damn it.”

It felt like a setback had appeared in an unexpected area. I thought we had secured our position, but now demons might get in the way.

    This was bad.

These were potential competitors. If possible, I’d prefer to eliminate them.

“Can’t they hold them off properly on their side?”

“They’re trying their best. That’s why Mother Duchess is also extremely busy. In any case, I’ll keep you updated if anything happens, so for now, focus on increasing your forces.”

    “Alright. I’ll do that.”

I didn’t know how strong these demons were, but their starting point will be crucial.

If I could annihilate them early, that’s ideal. If not, it’s all down to luck. Honestly, it would be better if they landed somewhere favorable and fought against angels or the Count’s forces.

“But don’t worry too much, Brother Kyuse. If they try something, we can respond appropriately. The angels’ dimensional barriers are still intact. No super-powerful demons can just randomly drop into the middle realm.”

    True.

A strong enemy couldn’t just appear out of nowhere.

This was good enough for now.

“But you mentioned dimensional beasts, right? Could they use some weird method to cross over?”

Even as I said it, I was skeptical. No matter how extraordinary these dimensional beasts were, if they were all-powerful, the summoning ritual I went through when I arrived here wouldn’t have been such a disaster.

“No matter how capable they are, they can’t cross over without penalties. This news was just to warn you to stay cautious.”

    Got it.

“Anyway! You’ve done a great job! Mother Duchess is very pleased that you’ve defeated the petty lords! If this situation stabilizes, she’ll reward you again!”

    A reward, huh.

A fleeting image of the Duchess shaking her chest crosses my mind. Ah… just imagining it almost makes me lose control. If it’s that kind of reward, I’m all in.

“Alright. Tell the Duchess I’m looking forward to it.”

    “Okay!”

And so, I had a brief chat with Karuti. Apart from the news that the demons had rallied, there was nothing particularly new.

“Oh, Brother Kyuse. About the communication base?”

“Yeah. I’ve pretty much decided on the site. We’re about to start construction. You came at the right time. Let’s go check it out together.”

    “Alright!”

Since Lady Vera’s visit to my territory would take some time, I figured it wouldn’t hurt to handle this project in the meantime.

“Sharan! Let’s go for a walk!”

    “Shash! Yes, Master!”

Hearing we were going out, Sharan perked up her ears and answered eagerly.

“Lumica! Lumica, it’s been a while since we went out!”

    “Outing? What’s the plan today?”

    “Inspection and construction.”

Looks like Gyuil would have his hands full today.

When I reached the training grounds:

    “Krrrrk! Three! Two! One! Grenade!”

The imps were in the middle of grenade training.

    “Grenade, krrrk!”

    “Grkkk!”

    “Krrrkkk!”

In unison with Imsoong’s commands, dozens of imps hurled fireballs simultaneously. In the past, their fire abilities were mediocre. But after growing alongside me—

    Whoosh!

The fiery projectiles, now fairly powerful, flew swiftly for dozens of meters and landed near the targets on the training ground.

    Boom!

    Boom!

Small explosions erupted as the fireballs hit the ground.

“Rapid fire grenades! Krrrk! Three! Two! One! Grenade!”

    “Krrrk!”

They didn’t stop after one round.

Following Imsoong’s command, the imps quickly resumed their casting and, without a single hitch, launched another round of fireballs in perfect unison.

    Whoosh!

    Boom!

Dozens of imps fired their fireballs twice, leaving the targets on the training ground utterly unrecognizable.

    “Great job, imps!”

    Clap clap clap!

I clapped my hands and approached the imps.

“Great job! Imsoong! You’re training them well!”

“Krrrrrk! Master! No issues during training!”

    “Even your pronunciation has improved!”

Imsoong no longer had the vibe of a little monkey. Now, he truly fe;t like a proper little devil.

    “Krrrk krrrk!”

Anyway, Imsoong was overjoyed at my compliment.

“Imsoong, did you hear about the fry party from Buril?”

    “Krrrk! I heard about it!”

“The ingredients have been ordered, so look forward to it!”

    “Krrrrrrrk!”

I praised the hardworking imps for their training.

With that level of power, they’re the real deal now. With those grenade abilities, they could neutralize an enemy infantry platoon in no time.

After chatting with the imps for a bit, I moved to where the kobolds were training.

    “Hey, Gyuil!”

    “Gyusat? Gyusat! Master!”

    Thud!

Gyuil quickly ran over and saluted.

“Alright, Gyuil. We’re heading out, so gather your men. We have an external construction mission.”

“Gyusat?! We’re going out to work?”

“Yes. It’s been a while, so let’s dig up some ground, hahaha.”

“Gyusat! I’ve been feeling stiff, so this is perfect! I’ll fully arm the men and assemble them right away! Gyusat!”

    “Good!”

    Thud!

Gyuil sprinted off to gather his platoon leaders and relay the orders. The kobolds’ swiftness always impressed me.

    Let’s prepare and get moving.

As soon as we finished preparing, we loaded the wagons and set off.

Though the sun set as we traveled, I minimized the time spent outside the castle. We marched overnight and arrived at the destination at dawn.

“Short rest! You have two and a half hours to sleep! Gyuil, assign sentries and let the others rest. When we finish the mission, I’ll grant combat leave, so hang in there!”

“Gyusat! Understood! Everyone, sentries out, the rest gather by platoon and start sleeping!”

    “Gyusat!”

    Everything was set.

“Alright, this is the place, Karuti.”

    “Yes! It looks good!”

Let’s explore this mountain a bit.

It’s a sparsely populated and rugged mountain, dense with greenery and likely home to some monsters—perfect for a communication base.

Most importantly, it’s not far from my territory.

    “Alright then, let’s start climbing.”

    “Shash!”

I began climbing with Sharan, Lumica, and Karuti. Despite the mountain’s rough terrain, none of us were human. This level of hiking was nothing for us.

“Sharan, we’re going to build our communication base here.”

    “A communication base?”

“Yes. We’re setting up an Evil Eye base here… and your job will be planting the tower.”

    “Sharan will do everything!”

    “Hahaha, thank you.”

After about an hour of climbing:

    “Ah, Brother Kyuse! Over here!”

    “Here?”

Looking around, I saw that the area was rugged, but this spot was relatively open.

    “Is this place good?”

“Yes! It should be perfect! I’ll summon the Evil Eye core now!”

“Uh… make sure you stay undetected.”

“Don’t worry! I’ve got it covered with clouds! Just wait a moment!”

    “Just a moment?”

“Actually, I’ve already been summoning it!”

    Ah.

    Rumble.

Hearing that sound, I looked up at the sky.

    Whoosh!

Something shrouded in clouds began descending from above.

    “Yap!”

With Karuti’s cute shout, the clouds surrounding the “core” dispersed, revealing—

    “A-a monster! It’s a monster!”

    “Shash!”

    “Oh my!”

    It was a monster!

A grotesquely fat, flying creature! Its stitched-together skin looked like something out of Frankenstein’s lab, and its size rivaled an elephant!

“Hey! Karuti! That thing was hiding in the sky?”

“Yep. It looks a bit gross, doesn’t it? But it can’t be helped. It turned out this way after adding the necessary organs and artifacts.”

    “An artificial lifeform…!”

    Its structure was fascinating.

So, did that stitched stomach hold the Evil Eyes? Thinking that all the Evil Eyes used for communication with me came out of this thing honestly made me feel a bit queasy.

    Thud!

Anyway, it landed on the ground and immediately sprawled out.

    “Gyaooooo.”

    “Insane!”

It was as grotesque as the flying treasure chest from before. I guess this was what demon aesthetics are like. What could I do?

“Alright, Brother Kyuse! It’s landed here!”

“You want me to hide and protect it with construction, right? Got it.”

“Exactly! I knew you’d understand me, Brother Kyuse!”

    Karuti spoke cheerfully.

    “Gyaooooo.”

    Man, but seriously—

    It’s astonishingly monstrous.

“Well then, let’s build a forward base for the Demon Realm.”

It’s going to look utterly evil, no doubt.
