    Chapter 297

    Chapter 297

    Otherworld Demon King Survival Guide.

Episode 297: Stop Ganging Up On Me! (1)

“We need a salary! Soldiers are meant to work for money!”

    “How could you say that!”

“But even if we got cash, there’s not much to spend it on! So, we’ll demand currency here!”

“Wait, what do you mean by that?”

I had a rough idea of where this was going.

I stared at Lilriel’s face, and it began to redden.

    This was that thing.

    Sexcoin.

“So, um… if I submit the currency to you.”

    “And if you submit it?”

    “I can… whenever…”

    “Whenever?”

    “In a structure that allows for… insertion…”

    Why was she so embarrassed?

“What is this, Lilriel? In the end, isn’t this all about that? In exchange for your loyalty, you want me to do this here.”

    Squeeze.

    I firmly grabbed Lilriel’s hips.

“You mean to spread you wide open, shove it in, and ravage you without mercy?”

    “Uunngh…!”

“Well, sounds good to me. It’s a good idea.”

But I had too many female subordinates.

Right now, I was barely managing their libido with tentacles and improvisation, but if I issued currency, I’d literally need to break my back to keep up.

Deciding the types of currency would be a task in itself.

I mean, every morning during roll call, I already trained dark elves, pixies, nuns, and angels with tentacles, making sure they enjoyed it.

And whenever I had time, I called in the officers one by one to give them a good time. So, I didn’t think there was a lack.

“For now, I’ll issue it only to you, Lilriel.”

    “That’s…! Thank you so much!”

Lilriel joyfully hugged me. She was now completely smitten with me.

Was anal sex really that good?

“I’m so moved! I’m really glad I got caught by you! Yes! Absolutely! I’ll continue to serve diligently so you can become a true Demon King!”

“Hehehe, understood. Make sure your subordinates feel the same way.”

    “Got it!”

I still hadn’t gotten close to Lilriel’s subordinates. That was a bit of an issue. When we were in the dungeon, we all stuck together and became close, but after moving to the castle, I had been a bit distant from the new recruits.

I guess when the environment changed, relationships changed too.

Vanessa, who had been dispatched, returned.

“Everyone’s doing well. They’re farming properly. They even went on expeditions to recruit more comrades.”

    “Oh, really?”

That’s fantastic news. I patted Vanessa’s head, and she avoided eye contact while continuing her report.

“From the beginning… the lizardmen and hobgoblins there not only received a boost in strength and intelligence from your magic but were also trained and got used to living in groups. Such elites using proper weapons would be more than a match for wild monsters.”

    Well, of course.

    These guys were elites now.

“They welcomed us, and your intentions were conveyed.”

“Well done, Vanessa. You completed your mission.”

    “Yes.”

Vanessa wore a proud smile. As a knight, she really enjoyed hearing she had completed a mission.

“Anyway, it seems they’re satisfied living there. They even repaired the fence themselves and built a small storage shed. Especially the hobgoblins, who are eagerly making tools and furniture.”

    “Oh, is that so?”

“Maybe because of that, they seemed hesitant about the idea of joining us here.”

    “I see.”

Looks like they had developed a sense of ownership. That farmland, the fence, and their homes. The lizardmen and hobgoblins had come to see that place as their own turf.

That’s why they didn’t want to leave.

It was a kind of strength, actually. With a sense of ownership, they’d manage it properly. Only with ownership could they act proactively.

“Oh well, it can’t be helped.”

I had thought of bringing them over to strengthen our forces, but given the circumstances, it was probably best to leave them there.

“Are you thinking of giving up on that side’s forces?”

“Give up? No, I’ll just let them protect that place. It’s like a final stronghold. It’d be better for them to build their strength over there.”

    “Understood. That makes sense.”

Since they were managing themselves well, there was no need to worry. I’d just get some help when I head on a jungle expedition later.

That place was like one of my satellite nations.

As long as it grew on its own, I had nothing else to wish for.

“Oh, by the way. There was something else.”

    “Hmm?”

I explained to Vanessa about Viscount Kelson.

How central had their eyes on the angels and the Saintess, and how Count Saidin eventually sent the viscount to try and merge us into their fold.

And how Viscount Kelson ended up as a punching bag and was now locked up in a dungeon. So, eventually, they would come to invade us.

    I told her everything.

“That’s troublesome. But if it’s just a coalition of local lords, not the count’s main forces… there’s still a good chance.”

    “Exactly.”

“But that was reckless. What if the count sends his main forces…”

“There’s no need to worry. Everything was calculated. What would happen if the count, currently in a war with the angels, sent his main forces here? He’d be at a huge disadvantage against the angels. Taking such a loss now would be irrecoverable.”

That was why I could afford to act boldly.

When taking action, you need to calculate everything.

“Hmm, I see. I understand. Anyway, we need to prepare to fight against the local lords.”

“That’s right. And we recently defeated Baron Helson, securing a large supply of resources.”

“Understood. I’ll follow your lead this time too. Anyway, I’d like you to share more of what you learned from interrogating the viscount.”

    “Yes.”

I continued to explain a few more details.

In the central region, angels and nobles were in a tense standoff. At the center of these nobles was Count Saidin. Given this situation, it seemed that recently the elves of the Elven Kingdom have also been making moves.

    “Elves?”

“Yes. The angels haven’t particularly encroached on elven lands, so they maintained neutrality throughout this war. But now, with humans and angels weakening each other, they seem to think it’s time to act.”

    “How cunning.”

    “Very political and sly indeed.”

I had a rough understanding of what kind of species the elves were. Initially, they maintained neutrality, but now they were trying to step in when both sides had weakened due to their conflict.

They might even seize this opportunity to take over human lands. This was something I learned for the first time during the viscount’s interrogation.

Everyone was wary of the elves.

“We might need to designate the elves as a potential enemy nation.”

It was clear that they intended to take advantage of this war. If I were an elf, I’d do the same. Whether it was against the angels or humans, they’d join the fray when the two were fiercely battling, wipe out the angels, and then make unreasonable demands on the humans.

Could the humans, exhausted from the war with the angels, really stand up against the elves, who had relatively preserved their strength?

It was a worrisome situation in many ways.

    “Indeed. That might be necessary.”

“Anyway, Count Saidin must be feeling quite frustrated under such circumstances. Growing desperate, he sent the viscount to expand his influence. It seems he intends to bring the Saintess over and use her to unite humanity.”

    Vanessa nodded.

“Understood. I’ve taken it all in.”

    “Yes.”

    “But from what I’ve heard…”

    “Yes?”

“It seems like you’ve adapted well to this side too. Thinking about political matters to that extent?”

Vanessa spoke with a tone of surprise.

Well, it was a complicated issue, but it was something I had to address.

“If I don’t think about it, we’ll be devoured. I’m responsible for leading my people, so I have no choice.”

    “Heh, of course.”

    Vanessa laughed.

    “What’s that smile for?”

“You really are my lord. Someone I can trust.”

    “Hehehe, you’re making me blush.”

“Give me any orders, and I’ll carry them out. As your knight, I’ll do whatever is needed.”

    “Then, let’s have sex.”

    “Wh-what…!”

Her face reddened in an instant.

    “…”

    Of course, Vanessa quietly nodded.

That’s how the days went by. I trained the soldiers and stockpiled supplies. While memorizing the surrounding terrain, I studied the power structures and names of the nobles with the Saintess. I also honed my abilities by strategizing with Vanessa.

“From the results of interrogating the viscount, the lords who are most likely to attack us are…”

    Vanessa pointed at the map.

“These three barons over here: Myler, Mellerja, and Ogonbrite. They are smaller than Helson in power, but if any two of them join forces, they’d be bigger than Helson.”

    “I see.”

It seemed serious, but I wasn’t overly concerned.

They were certainly not a trained modern army. Concepts like chain of command were weak. They’d likely command their troops in a haphazard manner, so it was practically a divided force.

“Unlike us and Helson, who are on the outskirts, they are positioned more towards the interior. Therefore, infiltration routes are… limited like this.”

    “Hmm.”

Still, since there were three of them, their coverage was broad. It wouldn’t be easy to end things at the border.

Should I draw them into our territory and engage in a defensive battle?

I’d love to send dark elves to sabotage their facilities, but that was unknown territory. I couldn’t send my subordinates to a place they had never been.

This battle would likely turn into a defensive one.

If we were unlucky, we might have to fight on the plains, which I wanted to avoid at all costs. My subordinates had no experience with battles on the plains. On the other hand, those guys had been waging wars on the plains day in and day out.

    We’d lose.

If it came down to fighting on the plains.

“Understood. I have a rough idea now.”

“When do you think they’ll invade?”

“Well… it’s only been a few days since the viscount was captured, so I’d say we have time.”

The count would start moving once he realizes the viscount hadn’t returned, and it’d take quite a while for that movement to reach the lower lords here.

We had plenty of time to prepare.

“I need to summon Lady Anna first.”

    “Anna? Why?”

“Because we’ll be up against three lords, no matter what.”

It was time to utilize the human army.

“Let’s start gathering some human conscripts.”
