When I was a child, I really liked pockets.
Whether it was coins or toys I received as allowance, I preferred to put them in my pocket and use my hands freely rather than carrying them around in a cumbersome manner.
So I liked to wear cargo pants with lots of pockets or vests with inner pockets.
Because there were pockets everywhere you went, you could take out whatever you wanted whenever you wanted.
After my hair grew thicker, even that became annoying and I just carried things roughly in my backpack, but back then, when I was brimming with energy, I even liked the annoying clanking sound I felt in my pockets.
Anyway, if you’re wondering why we’re suddenly talking about pockets.
‘Because I have inventory right now.’
Whoosh!
I grabbed an item that suddenly popped out of my inventory, placed it in front of my enemies, and moved like the wind.
Boom! Boom!
“Eww!”
“What the! I can’t see ahead!”
“My eyes! My ears!”
A flash of light accompanied by a loud noise sent a dozen or so superpowered people rolling on the ground, clutching their faces.
The object I took out and threw was a flash grenade. It was a flash grenade that I had pulled the pin out of and stored in my inventory right before it exploded.
They looked around for me, who had suddenly disappeared from sight, and were struck by a flash grenade exploding right before their eyes, paralyzing their sight and hearing.
This was a method that came to mind after seeing Feng Liu get confused because of a flash grenade that exploded earlier than expected.
A method that even a superhuman with a fast reflex speed like Feng Liu could not counter.
I thought it would be a good idea to use this as a new attack tactic there.
It is a type of instant eye-blinking magic that is created by combining a flashbang grenade with inventory.
‘I got hit by a few flashbangs myself trying to make this.’
Since I had to wait until the last moment before it exploded and then put it in my inventory, I made that mistake the first few times while trying to get the feel of it.
I wasn’t hurt because I protected my eyes and ears with my internal energy, but thanks to that I was able to experience firsthand how effective this was.
‘There is plenty in the inventory.’
If we were to use magic, we could say that we have a lot of memorization and stock.
As I continued to move like that and scatter flashbangs wherever I could, the inside of the restaurant soon became filled with smoke and a pungent smell from the flashbangs.
“Catch him!”
“Go that way!”
“미친년아! 내가 아니라 저 새끼를 때리라고!”
“Ugh…! Oh, I’m dizzy… ”
Although the flash grenade was not intended to block vision like a smoke grenade, the thin smoke produced by the explosion continued to accumulate, creating a scene reminiscent of chemical, biological, and radiological warfare training.
Rather than engaging in combat from a distance, they instead took advantage of gaps in the enemy’s defenses, causing confusion among the enemy.
A ragtag group of men who were not in sync with each other and who were attacking an opponent much stronger than themselves had no way of putting up a fight.
‘It really works.’
Swish-
I hid in the smoke caused by the flash grenade.
His sharp eyes sparkled in the smoke.
My vision was blocked, but my senses were sharper than ever.
There were about twenty superpowered people who were dealt with by passing by and tapping them while using flashbangs.
In an instant, about half of the people were unable to fight and were crawling on the floor.
‘The rest… Those who followed my movements with their eyes, albeit belatedly, and those who seemed difficult to deal with by simply pushing. Are the basics important after all? I guess I have to have a strong body.’
I deliberately avoided touching guys who seemed to have something to hide or who looked unusually strong.
But that didn’t mean they were afraid.
Although the superpowered body-enhancing powers are certainly formidable foes, the ones I find easiest to deal with are those with simple superpowers.
I left it alone without approaching it because I was afraid that if I got close enough and tripped on it, it would lose its shape.
‘I’ve even learned the Shinshin method, so I can’t fall over like Feng Liu with my steps twisted.’
“Colok! Colok!”
“Open the window! No, break the window! Quickly!”
Clang!
The enemies began to hurriedly ventilate the air to secure visibility.
The smoke slowly dispersed as the salty sea breeze flowed inside.
Since the smoke wasn’t going to last long anyway and the restaurant’s entrance was wide open, it seemed like the view would be secured quickly.
I didn’t bother to stop them.
Because the target I was looking for with my mind wasn’t a simple physical enhancement type superpowered person.
‘The ones who have even a slight chance of causing me trouble are not those kinds of people, but those who are physically weak but have extraordinary superpowers.’
For example, there was a villain with the ability to cut objects from a distance who slightly cut my chest during the bank terrorist incident I met a while ago.
The villain managed to cut through the suit and my skin.
At the time, I was a bit weak, but since I had learned external attacks, I was confident that I could just use my body to deal with most attacks.
But that villain broke through my enormous abilities and external attack and wounded my body.
If you just look at its power, I thought it would be similar to Geomgang. It could be that I thought it was a stronger enemy because of the memory correction, but at least it would be at the level of Geomgi.
In any case, the important fact is not simply that there was such a villain, but that there may be someone among the Justice League’s superpowered individuals here who has similar abilities.
‘…Like that guy who’s targeting me right now.’
Peeking!
I tilted my head to the side as I heard a sharp sound ripping through the air.
I felt a faint heat as something brushed past my temple.
I felt the temperature and nodded.
‘I guess it won’t hurt even if I get hit by this. But it’s still an annoying ability.’
Then he turned his body and looked behind where the attack had come from.
The guy with his index finger outstretched as if he was holding a pistol was looking at me with a bewildered expression.
The tip of the guy’s index finger had a red glow to it, and it seemed like he had the superpower to fire bullets with heat.
‘Except for the speed, it seems less powerful than the shotgun I use. I think it’d be easier to just use a pistol.’
I opened my mouth, muttering to myself that I was being needlessly nervous.
“What the heck? Don’t you remember your boss telling you to subdue him? Who are you trying to kill by shooting him in the back of the head like that?”
“Did you dodge? My attack is faster than the speed of sound… ”
“You can even dodge bullets, so do you think a finger gun like that would work?”
“You avoid bullets when you see them…?”
The guy who mutters like that with a blank face.
Looking at that disfigured face, it seemed like he didn’t avoid or withstand the flashbang, but rather just got lucky and survived by standing on the outermost edge.
I quickly moved behind the guy and cut off his neck briefly.
puck!
“It’s not that I avoided it because I saw it, but I avoided it because I predicted it.”
The passed out guy probably didn’t hear my answer, but he told me the truth anyway.
I glanced at the guy who was face-first on the floor and shouted behind him.
“So, are you going to continue? No one has died yet, but if you attack more, who knows what will happen? Right now, you’re using more force to subdue them instead of killing them.”
“… I thought Ignis’ superpower was to control fire. Was that just now an application of superpower too?”
Lin Xiaomei’s voice could now be heard through the gaps in the smoke that had mostly subsided. Judging from the slight trembling, it seemed like she had not anticipated the current situation at all.
“What if I know? Do I have to explain everything about how I use my superpowers?”
“If you decide to join hands with our Justice Alliance even now, you will be given a special position as an executive of the Justice Alliance… ”
“Ah, stop.”
I waved my hand and rejected her useless attempts at persuasion.
“Do you think you are in a position to make such a useless condition right now? I have no interest in such a shabby organization, so go back to China quickly. If you say you will never return to Korea, I will even consider escorting you to Chinese territorial waters. This is a special offer because your superpowers are amazing, so think carefully about it.”
“… I give up on completely subduing you! I don’t care if my limbs get blown off, just hold on to it somehow!”
“Are you saying you’ll try until the end?”
Lin Xiaomei seemed to have a positive mindset, thinking, “Half of my subordinates are left?” rather than “Half of my subordinates are left?”
The remaining subordinates seemed to have similar opinions as they approached me again. However, their movements were much more cautious than before.
‘I think that’s enough warning. We blinded him with a flash grenade and dealt with him, so he wasn’t that scared?’
Maybe it’s because I moved too fast.
So maybe I was resisting because I couldn’t see how I was handling my colleagues properly.
‘It was comfortable, but this could be seen as a bit of a drawback.’
If you want to scare away the enemy rather than annihilate them, it seems more effective to break them down slowly.
Still, that doesn’t change the fact that Lin Xiaomei’s decision was stupid.
‘There’s nothing I can do. You too, spit out an artifact and go.’
