Chapter Index

    “Ugh… !”

Because Misao had a hole in his wrist, he had no choice but to loosen his grip on the hostage’s neck.

The hostage, who seemed to have lost strength in his legs, crawled towards me, coughing repeatedly and touching the floor. I gave a cursory glance to the citizens around me and helped her out of the way.

The citizens had left through the exit on my side, so now there were only two people left on the tram: me and the villain who was holding my wrist.

    “My wrist… !”

At first glance, it seemed like the earring bullet did not penetrate the wrist. No matter how hard I hit it, I thought it might have been destroyed inside my body due to the earring’s own durability limitations.

Suddenly, I shuddered as I imagined removing the metal and jewel fragments that made up the earrings from my wrist.

    ‘Ugh, that’s terrible.’

    “You bastard… ”

The guy who managed to calm down the pain gritted his teeth and glared at me.

She seemed to have completely sobered up, perhaps because she had been beaten a little and had holes in her body, and ran towards me, screaming with bloodshot eyes.

    “Kill it!!!”

    ***

    “Duuu!!!!”

Misao Hinata waved her fist frantically. In her entire life, she had never fought as desperately as she did now.

Before I realized my superpowers, I was just a low-level member of the organization, and after I gained superpowers, I never felt nervous in battle thanks to my strong exoskeleton and increased strength.

    But it was different now.

Minho, an unidentified male hero, suddenly appears.

Minho, wearing a hero suit with a matte black background and accents with red lines extending to his arms and legs, countered Misao’s desperate attacks with a relaxed attitude.

No matter how strongly she stretched out her fist or how fast she swung her legs, her attack could not graze Minho’s suit.

It was to the point where he felt like he was floundering in the air, as if he were fighting in a dream.

If it weren’t for the tingling pain she felt in her wrist every time she moved her body, she might have really thought she was dreaming.

    Whick!

Minho dodged the fist she swung by leaning back. His flexible upper body was tilted to the point where it seemed possible to maintain balance. The kick aimed at the leg was made in vain by holding on to the handle on the ceiling and lifting the body up. Thanks to this, Misao’s legs, encased in a strong exoskeleton, hit the seat and crushed it.

    “Haam… Are you still sober?”

    “Aaaaa!!!”

As none of the attacks worked, fear gradually filled Misao’s heart. At this point, I was starting to wonder if Minho was a ghost rather than a hero.

With the continued bleeding from the wrist injury and the added mental burden, Misao suddenly lost her breath.

And Minho did not miss Misao’s gap, which was revealed as the attack gradually slowed down.

    Pow!

    “Ugh!”

“I guess you haven’t been hurt much? I thought the Yakuza would be a little tougher.”

A dull hitting sound echoed from Misao’s abdomen.

Although it was an exoskeleton that did not respond to tools or knives wielded by ordinary people, Minho’s attack was on a different level.

‘It felt like I was being hit with some kind of heavy equipment… !’

Every time she showed an opening and allowed an attack, the exoskeleton she boasted began to scream and crack little by little.

The fear that her exoskeleton would shatter if she allowed any more attacks like this filled her mind.

‘escape… I have to run away. The door, where is the door?’

In the end, Misao, who had completely lost his will to fight, rolled his eyes here and there, looking for a way out. If I could somehow move my legs fully, I might be able to successfully escape if I tried to move through space using the ‘key’.

But the unfortunate thing for her was that the moment Misao instinctively turned her eyes elsewhere before she even thought about running away, Minho had already realized that she was giving up the fight and trying to run away.

    “Where are you looking?”

    “Ah.”

    Kwasik!

While looking for a way out, Minho’s kick landed on Misao’s chin while she was looking for a way out. Her body rose into the air due to the direct attack.

    Clink!

Due to the impact, she spun several times in the air and eventually broke the window of the tram and flew away.

    Crash!

    ‘Mind… I need to come to my senses… ‘

I was barely able to hold on to my senses and prevent myself from fainting, but it was impossible to control my body because I received such a shock to my chin that my entire body was blown away.

Misao tried to stand up from the floor, but the attempt ended with her arms fluttering in the air because she felt like the world was spinning around her.

In the end, she became a complete wreck and fell down on the road.

    “Ah… ”

A muffled moan came out from the half-open mouth. Following the moan, a liquid mixed with blood, saliva, and white flakes flowed from the mouth. Looking at it, it looked like the tooth had been broken by the last attack.

Although the jawbone was not crushed, the exoskeleton surrounding the face was broken and fell into pieces.

Seeing the villain lying on the road and barely breathing, the citizens watching nearby burst into cheers.

    “The villain has fallen… !”

    “Aaaah!! Hero is cool!”

“Not only sexy, but also strong… !”

    “Who is that male hero?”

Some citizens were already using their smartphones to guess Minho’s identity. And, as befits a global era where the entire world is connected to the Internet, it didn’t take long to find out his identity.

In the first place, thanks to the fact that there were few male heroes as active as Minho, Ignis’ overseas recognition was surprisingly high.

“Wait a minute, I guess that guy is a Korean hero called Ignis!”

“Korea! Are they the heroes who entered Japan yesterday?”

    “Ignis! I’ve heard of it!”

    “I love you, Ignis!”

    “Aaaah! I looked this way!”

Minho slowly walked out of the tram, waved moderately at the cheering citizens, and approached the fallen Misao.

As she looked up at the night sky while breathing heavily, Minho appeared, blocking the streetlight, filling her vision.

“Now, tell me everything you know.”

    ***

Back at the hotel, I was lying on the bed and thinking about the story I heard from a yakuza named Misao.

For reference, the guy was handed over to the Japanese police.

I don’t know if there was any grudge against him, but from the villain’s point of view, I suddenly came out and got hit in a one-sided way. I thought it wasn’t a good idea to kill him.

It’s the same with killing people in Japan, even though it’s not in our country. Even though we call them heroes and villains, I’m Korean and he’s Japanese.

If there were no witnesses, it would have been possible to just sweep it away and put it in the inventory, but it was difficult because there were so many citizens gathered around.

‘Anyway, Japan has declared war on villains, so I don’t think the captured guy will fare very well.’

Since he was involved in the Higashigu terrorist attack, he will be sentenced to life imprisonment or the death penalty.

Unlike Korea, which has effectively abolished the death penalty, Japan is one of the few developed countries where the death penalty is still practiced.

    “’Key’… ”

I rolled the words I learned from him in my mouth.

    ‘key’.

The reason why the villain organization that came from Korea was able to avoid being noticed by the Japanese government until now.

The ‘key’ was a kind of pass that allowed other people to use the supernatural power of space movement.

Several structures called doors were connected using supernatural powers, and the connection was activated when the symbol ‘key’ stamped on the palm of the person holding the handle was recognized.

Since most of the gang members used this method of spatial movement, it was almost impossible to catch the villain unless he was arrested on the spot.

The good news was that the ‘key’ could be transferred to another person. I almost had to take the troublesome Yakuza with me to track down the villains.

I lifted my arm and examined my palm.

It seemed like there was nothing, but the ‘key’ stolen by the villain was now in my hand. I could feel a foreign energy lingering in my palm.

‘If I had this, I could rob their warehouse.’

The use of ‘key’ was not without restrictions.

Although there is a downside to being able to move only through designated doors unless you are a space traveler, it was actually a good condition for me trying to find the villains. This means that if you just open the door, it will automatically lead you to where the target is.

And the time the ‘key’ was held was not permanent. The villain didn’t reveal it to me, but considering the amount of energy remaining and the slowly decreasing consumption, it seemed like it would disappear in roughly the next two days.

    There was plenty of time.

‘If it disappears earlier than expected, you can catch another villain and take it back.’

Local villains in Japan were not completely absorbed into the villain organization like in Korea. Unlike the villain previously captured in Korea who could not reveal the organization for fear of retaliation, the evidence is that information was relatively easy to extract from the Yakuza.

It meant that there were as many openings as I could take advantage of.

As I was rolling around on the bed, gathering my thoughts, someone knocked on the door.

    Knock-
