It had been a month since Max started keeping Eva as a pet, and he was in a state of bewilderment.

‘Eva’s health is continuously deteriorating… Why?’

Instead of suppressing Eva’s power, Max meticulously managed her health. He cast Protection spells to prevent strain on her knees and joints, and when she groaned with stomachaches after Spawning, he concocted Medicinal concoctions and used Recovery spells to restore her to her original state in a single day.

Even with strict control over her diet, Max couldn’t understand why she was constantly weakening. Max thought that once he completely possessed Eva, there would be no more problems, but he was now racking his brains over this new issue.

“Hmm… What should I do…”

Max suddenly realized that although he and Eva were constantly together, he didn’t know what she did when they were apart. Before completely subjugating her, he had observed her constantly, but ironically, once Eva became a complete pet, he paid less attention to her.

Eva hadn’t moved from that spot even once during the hours he had been watching. If she hadn’t been breathing, Max would have thought she was a doll. Continuing to watch her, Max felt goosebumps rise on his arms at her eerie appearance. He was devastated to realize that the measures he had confidently taken were nothing more than pathetic stopgaps.

“Pathetic. And here I was, blathering about raising her for life…”

As he gradually recalled his past actions, Max realized that Eva’s words had been steadily decreasing. At first, she had asked questions about this and that because she wasn’t used to the role of a pet, but once she completely adapted to it, she stopped making any sounds other than moans during walks, meals, and sex. Max realized that he had been blinded by Eva’s happy smiles at him.

“At this rate, she won’t live long.”

Even though only a month had passed, her health had deteriorated so noticeably that it was as good as saying she wouldn’t last even a year. Max found it hard to believe that Eva, who he thought would easily live for over 100 years if left alone, had become so weakened, but he desperately felt that he needed a different approach than what he was doing now.

‘Master, I wonder if he’s not coming… I hope nothing happened to him?’

Eva, who had spent most of her 24 hours a day with Max, felt strange spending so long in the room without him. She thought that her master would come soon, but Max didn’t return late into the night. Eva tried to wrack her stiff brain, but it was as if her entire mind had turned into a lump of stone, and she couldn’t think of anything.

‘Master… I miss you…’

Even before, Eva had been clinging to Max all day long, but back then, Eva herself had wanted and craved him and acted accordingly. Now, having become a pet, Eva had been stripped of her autonomy and was no different from a machine that simply moved according to orders, forgetting to cling to him or do anything else unless he wanted her to. Her mind, twisted by Hypnosis, had reached the last vow she had made herself, and it had become irreversible.

Eva imagined him never coming back forever.

‘Master is tired of me… He doesn’t need me anymore…’

Just thinking about it made her body tremble with fear, but a faint smile appeared on her lips. Imagining Max abandoning her if she ignored him and clung to him, wailing and begging, Eva felt a twisted joy even as her chest throbbed with pain.

‘My master, who owns everything about me, abandoning me. Me, a pet, like a worn-out shoe…’

Eva couldn’t hide her broken smile even as she felt a chill. To give up something is to kill something. All that remained for Eva, who had been whittling away at her heart by Max’s Hypnosis, was obedience to him, and her emaciated mind withered away. Having become accustomed to killing herself, Eva now wanted to finish it herself.

The appointed time passed, the pieces were put together, and her destined ruin began to sing of death.

Max’s complexion was haggard. Surrounded by countless parchments, he was absorbed in his thoughts and sighed deeply.

“Damn it, there’s no way. There’s no way… What should I do, no, what time is it now?”

Max realized that he had lost track of time while doing research. Scratching his head irritably, he thought of Eva.

“I should go see Eva first.”

Deciding to return to her first, Max disappeared from the laboratory.

Max’s face hardened as he looked at his empty room. Seeing the room without warmth, he instinctively felt that something was wrong.

“Damn it, Eva! Where are you, Eva!!”

Max shouted at the top of his lungs, but when he heard no response, he began to search the entire Lair. He quickly scanned the vast Lair and was relieved to see that Eva was detected inside the Lair, but he cursed when he saw her location.

“You crazy! Why are you going there!”

Max turned pale and moved to where Eva was.

“Master didn’t order me to, but I came all the way here…”

Eva was staring at the swirling blue hole. This was the second time she had come here. After deciding that Eva would stay in the Lair for a long time, Max had introduced her to various places and earnestly told her not to even think about going inside there. Even then, Eva had felt the terrifyingly seething power from within the hole and had been nervous.

“Hehe… If I fall in there, not even a finger will be left.”

Imagining disappearing without a trace that she had ever existed in the world, Eva’s crotch became wet. A warning bell was ringing in a corner of her mind, but she ignored it. Eva smiled faintly and pushed her body into the pit of raging waves.
