    “What…?”

On the way home, a notice was posted on Deron’s website.

The update timing was excessively fast. How long has it been since the new expansion pack was released, and now they’re adding a new area?

His frowning expression didn’t seem to ease.

    Hell.

It was an area that didn’t appear in the Deron of the past world.

On top of that, the addition of the [Death Knight] and [Hell Priest] jobs, which only existed as dummy data.

The Demon Race Reincarnation system was also a feature that didn’t exist in the existing world of Deron.

On the day of the update. Many users were heading to the Adventurer’s Guild to receive quests to go to the new area.

I also headed to the Adventurer’s Guild to complete the quest.

The new area, Hell, was a region where PVP occurred in all areas.

Therefore, the items that could be obtained there were also likely to have PVP-related options plastered all over them.

“Hmm… you. You look quite strong, are you perhaps interested in a new adventure?”

As I approached the Adventurer’s Guild, the NPC who gave out quests spoke to me.

    I approached him and nodded.

“Good. I like that you’re quick to understand. You probably know about it too, right? The incident where Hell invaded this capital city not too long ago.”

    “I know.”

“Yes, we can’t just sit back and take it, can we?”

    “So?”

“Yes, we’ve managed to open a gate to Hell. It’s our turn to retaliate.”

The NPC handed me a silver-made pass.

“Take it. If you show that pass, you’ll be able to use the gate to Hell. Once you cross over there, go find Knight-nim Crow. He’ll be of great help.”

[Tracking Hell Mana – First Story.]

Use the gate to Hell 0/1

The moment the quest was updated, the NPC turned around and began spewing the same words to another person.

I quickly left the Adventurer’s Guild.

There was no need to ask for the location of the gate.

All I had to do was follow the users who were leaving the capital city.

Outside of Lunarice Capital City, not far away, a large gate was open.

In front of it, the knights of the capital city, priests and paladins dispatched from each temple, and Adventurer’s Guild NPCs stood as if guarding the gate.

    Using the gate wasn’t difficult.

When I showed the pass I received from the Adventurer’s Guild, I was immediately allowed to cross the gate.

The moment I threw myself into the large gate, my body turned into light and scattered with a short waiting time.

It was an effect that occurred every time I crossed over to a new area.

The body that flew away with the light regained its original form the moment it arrived in another world.

    Kung-!

I stepped out of the pillar of light that had fallen to the ground.

Blackened ground and a dark sky with a red moon rising.

Because even the stars that decorated the surroundings were not visible, the red moon looked just like the eye of a demon.

[Tracking Hell Mana – First Story.]

Use the gate to Hell 1/1

    Ting!

The quest was completed. But seeing that there were no subsequent quests, it seemed that the main quest ended here.

At that moment, black energy began to rise from the blackened ground as if overflowing.

The moment the black energy, which wrapped around my ankles and climbed up my entire body, tried to cover my entire body, the magic sword I was wearing scattered a faint lightning bolt.

    Pajijik-

    [Owner of the Magic Sword]

The magic sword absorbs the magic of Hell.

You are not affected by magic.

The debuff effect of the new area disappeared.

Like the Easter egg hidden in the Holy Sword, the magic sword also seemed to have hidden functions.

I stroked the magic sword and looked around.

    [Exploration Team’s Base Camp]

The name of the area displayed on the minimap was the Exploration Team’s Base Camp.

True to its name, there were numerous tents, supplies brought over from the gate, and several NPCs such as paladins and priests wandering around.

The most noticeable of them was the NPC named [Knight Commander Executioner Crow], who was emitting a subtle sunlight.

Come to think of it, the Adventurer’s Guild NPC told me to find Crow when I arrived here.

    I quickly approached Crow.

There were many other users gathered in front of Crow besides me, and all of them seemed to be doing quests.

    “You are…”

The moment Crow saw me, he placed his hand on the hilt of his sword.

As if he was going to cut me down the moment I approached.

His movement reminded me of the effect of the magic sword that I had forgotten.

[Friendship with NPCs who worship the Sun God decreases by 2 stages when equipped.]

It seems that this effect is being applied.

“Don’t come any closer. I don’t feel like becoming friends with you.”

I obediently stepped back at Crow’s words.

If I simply wanted to proceed with the quest, I could just unequip the magic sword.

But I didn’t particularly want to do that.

It’s a side quest, not a main quest. It means I don’t have to do it.

I left the base camp, feeling the gazes of the NPCs glaring at me from around.

There was another main quest left in the patch notes.

I was going to look for that quest.

The moment I left the safe zone, the nicknames of all the users around me turned red.

I would look the same in the eyes of other users.

Only guild members and alliance members were visible in green, indicating a friendly state.

It’s a PVP area. Due to the nature of the area, small and large troubles were bound to continue one after another.

The guild chat was constantly being updated, as if the other leading groups who had left earlier were also fighting.

I immediately spread my arms wide.

Then, a large magic circle rose into the air, and a hellfire pony with its whole body burning appeared.

It was an appearance production that didn’t match its size.

    “Hiiing!”

I immediately get on the horse.

Since it’s a new area, I was going to reveal the map first.

It’s a new area where I don’t know what’s where. I had to figure out the location of the field boss, and I also had to find various gathering points.

The moment I lightly kicked the belly of the pony warhorse, it started running quickly.

    Dagudak dagudak dagudak-

There weren’t many people riding mounts in Deron.

I quickly passed by the crawling users and crossed the new area.

After running like that for a while, I was able to discover a new village.

But it wasn’t an ordinary village.

The appearances of the NPCs wandering around the village were very strange.

Crimson skin that didn’t seem to belong to an ordinary human, and horns sprouting above their heads.

And even wings extending from behind their backs.

This was a village of demons.

The names of the demon NPCs were gray, meaning neutral.

It meant that if I didn’t attack them first, they wouldn’t attack me either.

I get off the horse and approach the village.

The demon race guard NPC looked at me and opened his mouth.

    “You… you’re human, but I feel a familiar energy.”

The guard NPC’s appearance wasn’t much different from humans.

Even among the same demon race NPCs, their appearances were all different.

But, there was one thing. There was one identical feature.

That was the horns sprouting above their heads.

Regardless of the shape and size, all demon race NPCs had horns on their heads.

“Is it okay to go in?”

“As long as you don’t cause any trouble.”

The demon race guard said that and let me into the village.

There weren’t only NPCs inside the village.

There were also other users who had already found this place.

Everyone was showing the same characteristics.

The robes they wore, and the black energy flowing out from under their feet.

And even the unique hell mana formed in both hands.

All the users wandering around here were black mages.

I was able to find a familiar person among the users wandering around the village.

    [Priscilla]

She was the one in charge of the black mage in our raid party.

    “Raid leader-nim…?”

Priscilla was looking at me as if she was surprised that I was here.

    I quickly approached her.

“How did you get in here?”

    “They just let me in?”

    “Huh…?”

Priscilla tilted her head as if she had misheard my answer.

“Really, you could really just come in?”

    “Yes.”

    “That’s strange…”

    It was that moment.

A rough shout erupted from just outside the village.

    “It’s an enemy!”

    “It’s a human!”

Priscilla and I peeked our heads out of the village together.

Then, the guard NPCs who were guarding this village were beating up about five users.

The demon race NPCs were very powerful. It didn’t even take a minute to destroy a party of max-level users.

“Did you see that? If you try to just come in, the NPCs attack you.”

“How did you get in, Priscilla-nim?”

“They don’t attack black mages. They say they feel a familiar energy.”

It seemed that the hidden function in this magic sword was not just one.
