Mesugaki Tank Enters the Academy –
    190

As soon as I lifted my mace,
the divine energy that Armadi had bestowed upon me began to surge.

    Far purer and immensely
stronger than the divine energy I had carried before.

    A power exceedingly excessive
    for my insufficient body.

    Normally, I would not have
been able to control the movement of this energy.

    Not only that—I would have
failed to withstand the wild flow of it, letting out screams of pain.

But not this time. Grandpa was
controlling the divine energy within me.

    I knew Grandpa was remarkable.

    I had witnessed his heroic
tales, experienced his strength, and followed his teachings, walking
    the path he once did.

    However, experiencing his
ability first hand left me in awe.

    To handle divine energy in
    such a manner—it was possible.

    Part of the divine energy
gifted by Armadi was used to fortify my body.

    It wasn’t like the simple
    strengthening I used to do.

    From the heart, spreading to
every last blood vessel in my fingertips and toes, both internally
and externally, every part of my body was protected by divine energy.

Thanks to that, even with the
overwhelming movement of this divine energy, I felt not the slightest
    bit of pain.

    And that’s not all.

    The divine energy gathered at
the end of my mace didn’t simply accumulate.

Even as it was gathering, the
divine energy kept weaving magic, amplifying itself more and more.

    “Don’t be too surprised by
    this, Little girl.”

    Grandpa chuckled as I
    internally marvelled at the sight.

When I turned my head to look
at him, his determined eyes met mine first.

    “This is where it really
    starts.”

    No sooner had Grandpa spoken
than the divine energy concentrated at the tip of the mace burst
    forth, spreading outwards.

    A massive magic circle was
forming, anchored by the concentrated divine energy.

    Though I still lacked deep
knowledge of magic, I now understood the basics.

    And thus, I could distinguish
    this.

    This wasn’t something
    bestowed by a god.

    It was crafted by humans.

    “This technique was
devised with the help of our party’s mage to replicate Armadi’s
    miracle.”

    Rather than merely borrowing
the deity’s power, this was a feat created by combining divine energy
    and human strength.

    The outcome of earthly beings
struggling to emulate a god’s miracle.

    “I went through quite an
ordeal trying to keep up with that old man’s passion for magic.”

    Above the massive magic
circle, dozens more appeared and layered upon one another.

    “What are you doing!?”

    Could it be sensing Armadi’s
    divine energy?

    The Evil God shouted, glaring
    at me.

In the void of the Evil God’s
black pupils, hatred and murderous intent flickered.

The enmity of a being with the
title of a God. I should be afraid, but for some reason, I could only
    smile.

“Did you think I would just
    stand by and watch?”

The Evil God moved to stop the
miracle, but nothing he did could reach me.

    His flames were blocked by
    sudden ice.

    His words of curse were
    countered by divine energy.

    His judgement aimed at
punishing mortals was halted by a greatsword.

    Of course, the standoff was
    not equal.

    Even incomplete, an Evil God
    is still an Evil God.

    The Mage, desperately blocking
the flames, was gradually losing his strength.

    The Bishop, issuing blessings,
had cold sweat dripping from his forehead.

    The Knight, maintaining the
front line, held a smile that was becoming increasingly strained.

    If this standoff continued,
the Evil God would surely unleash his fury upon the world.

    “Don’t interfere! You who
    shall turn to ashes eventually!”

    However, the miracle was
preparing faster than the realisation of the Evil God’s will.

    I stared blankly upward. A
sphere formed by overlapping layers of divine energy.

    The massive orb, containing
the divine energy gifted by Armadi, was not just simple magic.

It was fitting to call it a
    sun.

    “Now. Little girl.”

This is truly the miracle I
    have been seeking.

    ‘It’s difficult.’

Johan wiped the cold sweat off
his forehead as he warded off the curses with blessings.

    Even incomplete, an Evil God
    was still an Evil God.

The power possessed by a being
beyond the category of living creatures was something no human could
    ever fully oppose.

    ‘Sir Allen still seemed to
have some strength left, but it was different for Georg and me.

Even if we gritted our teeth
and held on, we would eventually reach our limits.

Ha. What kind of beings were
the heroes who once triumphed over a fully awakened Evil God?

If it was this hard to face a
partially sealed one, how did humans manage to deal with a fully
    awakened Evil God?

I can’t help but feel respect
    welling up.’

    “I said don’t interfere!”

As Johan heard the Evil God’s
cry and grasped the cross in his hand, he felt a warm sensation from
    behind him.

    It was different from the
stifling heat that had previously filled the cavern, conveying the
comfort and tranquillity of the sky’s sun.

    Feeling this, Johan turned his
head and, seeing the scene behind him, dropped his hands in
    astonishment.

    “…What is this?”

    The sun was there.

It wasn’t a metaphor as when
    describing the giant flame earlier.

It was indeed a sun, shining
from the blue sky and watching over all.

    “How could this be
happening? How could the sun, which should be spreading warmth to the
outside world, be in this narrow cave?

    Am I hallucinating?

Could it be that the Evil God
has done something, and I am witnessing this strange sight?”

    “This is impossible! How
could someone like you do such a thing!”

    “Haha!♡”

    Johan, who doubted his own
eyes, lowered his gaze at the irritating yet clear laughter coming
    from beneath the sun.

    And then he saw it.

A girl holding up a mace as if
it were a sacred flame, supporting the sun.

    “Ah. I see.

    The sun, which should be
protecting the world, had not fallen underground.

That tiny girl had created the
    sun within this cave.

Describing it even as I say it
    sounds like nonsense.

If I hadn’t seen it with my
own eyes, I would have dismissed it as trivial.

Even if it were mixed into a
minstrel’s song, people would complain that it was too exaggerated.

But all of it was true.

The girl holding up the sun
was smiling with her uniquely irritating smile as she looked at the
    horrified Evil God from afar.”

    “Did you expect me to
scream?♡ Did you want me to beg for my life?♡ To boost your
pathetic self-esteem with that? Eww, it’s so gross!♡”

    “You wretched pest!”

    “Aww, are you scared?♡
Really, truly scary. Haha♡ Just as befits an Evil God. Pfft♡ Such
    overwhelming presence?♡”

    “How dare you mock me,
    Vahda, you mere mortal!”

    The Evil God’s flames, which
had been flickering endlessly around, suddenly converged,
concentrating all their heat into the Evil God’s hand.

    This too was a sun.

But unlike the girl’s sun held
aloft, this was not a sun that tenderly cared for the world, but
rather an evil sun that burned people to death.

    A presence that stood over
drought-stricken land, laughing at those dying of hunger.

A being wishing for all life
    on earth to perish violently.

    “You will regret your
    arrogance!”

As the Evil God wielded the
white sun in his hand, the girl’s sun began to leak light.

    At that moment, Johan realised
what the girl’s sun truly was.

    Only Johan could understand
    it.

    ‘It was the divine energy
    possessed by the great Armadi.

It was the same light that had
shown him the way in the distant past.’

    The holy light leaking from
    the sun filled the cavern.

    The gloomy, ill-omened colours
of the cavern gradually brightened as if it were midday.

    The searing heat that sought
to turn everything to ash was replaced by the warmth that tended to
the land. The corrupted energy that lingered in the cavern retreated
    further into the shadows.

Even the Evil God was no
    exception.

The hand that had moved to
erase the small girl from the earth stopped midway and could not move
    any further.

    “Why! Why! Whyyy!”

“Are you curious why this is
    happening?♡ I don’t have to tell you, but I’m nice, so I’ll
give you the answer♡ to a dumbass who even burned his own brain♡”

    The white sun began to
    diminish in size.

It was initially as large as
    the benevolent sun.

But soon, it became less than
    half its size.

It shrank to about the size of
the Evil God’s fist and then vanished entirely.

    “That’s because you’re
    just trash♡”

As if nothing had been there
    to begin with.

    “No.”

    With the sun that had
protected the Evil God gone, it was now time for the Evil God to bear
the divine energy of Armadi himself.

    “I said no!”

    Bachdi tried to resist,
swinging his axe, but it was futile.

Even the sun, which he created
by staking everything he had, faded in the light of the other sun.

    An insignificant axe like that
could never withstand the divine energy of Armadi. The axe, already
fractured from Benedict’s blade, shattered and scattered into the
    void.

    “I cannot be sealed again!”

As the flames that formed the
Evil God’s hands, arms, legs, and body lost their centre, the seal
that had contained him did not miss this tiny opportunity.

As if drawn by the force of
the earth, the parts that made up the Evil God’s body began to be
pulled into the cracks in the wall.

    “I curse you, Armadi! May
everything you love turn to ashes!”

    That scream, almost like a
    voice, was the end.

In the end, the sun held high
by the little girl filled every corner of the cavern with its warmth.

The place that the Evil God,
deprived of his refuge, was drawn to now was the one he despised the
    most.

    Everything of Vahda was
trapped within the seal, and not long after, the cracks on the seal
    were restored.

Johan, who took in the entire
scene, kneeled as he stared at the warm sun that still held its
    place.

    An event neither acceptable by
    common sense nor understandable.

    An event that would elicit
    scoffs and ridicule if heard.

    While the impressionable might
be awestruck, the pessimists would blindly doubt it.

    People call it a miracle.

And at this very moment, Johan
engraved the unfolding miracle into his eyes.
