PVP Arena Ranked Game Placement Matches: 9 wins, 0 losses.
The last match just got matched.
I rubbed my hands together and prayed.
‘Please, no Enchanter, please no Enchanter, please no Enchanter, please no Enchanter, please no Enchanter, please no Enchanter!’
A whopping 5 out of 9 matches were against Enchanters.
All 5 matches stuck to me like glue, holding out until time ran out.
Fighting them takes almost 5 times longer than fighting other classes, and getting hit with CC skills makes me feel drained and exhausted.
Please, let the last match be anything but that…!
My vision turned pitch black, and I was sucked into the arena.
And the last opponent I saw.
A slender figure in clothes that clung tightly like an Assassin’s, but the bow in their hand and the arrows visible behind their back clearly indicated an Archer-type class.
“Niceeeeeee!!!”
The large bow, as tall as the user, meant that the user in front of me was a [Wanderer], the most bow-specialized class among the Archer types.
A class with no shortcomings in range, attack speed, CC, or mobility, and a pretty good class regardless of raids or PVP.
Other people might dislike it, but as someone who had been constantly fighting boring Enchanters, the [Wanderer] in front of me was so welcome that I almost cried.
“Wow… it’s the WFK title. Wait, it’s Iarang-ssi…!? “
“Hello.”
“Ah, nice to meet you.”
Oh, thankfully they were a normal user.
“Are you doing PVP, Iarang-nim?”
“I’m just about to try. This is my last placement match.”
“I see, wait a minute, placement…?”
“Yes. Placement match.”
“Huh…? I’m Diamond…? Is it possible to match with Diamond in placement matches…?”
Ting, ting.
“Whatever the reason, I’m glad we met, so please take care of me.”
I smiled at the [Wanderer] user who looked flustered at the sight of me.
“Yes! Please take care of me too!”
START!
I used my pre-cast movement skill to teleport behind the Wanderer.
But I couldn’t see the Wanderer in front of me.
All I could see was a tiny seed.
‘Wanderer’s binding skill.’
Thanks to Soonchu, I had learned the forms of each class’s main CC skills in advance, so I quickly canceled the skill and returned to the state before casting it.
The [Assassin]’s movement skill is a very high-tier movement skill.
Even after using the skill to move to the desired location, the skill doesn’t end for 1 second. If you judge within that 1 second and cancel the skill, you can return to the place where you originally cast the skill.
This allows for a lot of mind games in PVP, making it a much better skill than other classes’ movement skills.
To predict that I would use the movement skill right away, and to create distance with their own movement skill, and then use a CC skill in the place where they were standing.
As expected of a Wanderer user who said they were Diamond.
As soon as I returned to where I was, vines burst out from where the Wanderer user had been standing.
Shushushushushuk!
Behind!
I immediately turned around at the sound of an arrow from behind.
‘Did they predict that I would cancel the skill?’
Arrows surged towards me to kill me, and the Wanderer user was visible in the distance.
By the time I blinked, the arrows had already reached my eyes.
But no matter how fast the arrows were, they were much slower than the instant CC-filled magic of an Enchanter.
Even without using Extrasensory Perception, I was already used to instant magic, so I could easily block the arrows.
Kaang!
Starting with one arrow, I parried every single arrow that surged towards me with the daggers in both hands.
“Eht?”
The Wanderer user was flustered. I immediately rushed towards the Wanderer without delay.
The Wanderer user quickly regained their senses and began to move, using various skills against me.
Predicting the size, speed, and damage of the arrows, I used skills on my daggers to parry all attacks without any risk, deflecting or parrying them.
In the continuing chase, I ran without ever being stunned.
“What is this…!? “
Clean movements even without Awakening Mode. A smooth body.
‘Is this the effect of exercise…!? ‘
Of course, exercising for just one day wouldn’t have an immediate effect, but my condition was at its best today, even after meeting the Enchanter so many times.
The arrows were definitely fast, but my body’s reaction was even faster.
I wouldn’t even think about parrying if the arrows were flying like shotgun pellets all at once, but all of the Wanderer’s skills weren’t like that.
Of course, many arrows fly at once, but instead of 10 arrows flying out at the same time as soon as the skill is used, they come out of the bow with terrifying speed, so if you stay calm, you can parry them all without difficulty.
I would have been stunned if I had only parried, but I didn’t get stunned because I parried with a skill activated.
The Wanderer relies on attack speed rather than attack power, so as someone who can easily parry, they are a very easy class to deal with.
“The cooldowns… can’t keep up…!”
The Wanderer user, who had been using movement skills and attack skills to escape my constant pursuit, was eventually caught by me.
I didn’t miss that opportunity and attacked the Wanderer user’s body with insane speed.
Their health decreased rapidly.
The Wanderer user struggled to escape.
But the moment you give an Assassin distance, you’ve already lost!
I poured all my attacks into the head, neck, and heart, which are considered vital points.
The Wanderer user didn’t just stand still either. In that brief moment before being stunned, they crossed their arms to protect their vitals, trying to cover their head, neck, and heart.
But I immediately grabbed the daggers in reverse grip, stabbed the Wanderer’s arms with the daggers, and then slashed downwards.
With the arms falling naturally, I pulled out the daggers and stabbed both daggers into the Wanderer’s neck, then slashed the daggers as if tearing them left and right.
It was perfect without an inch of error.
The Wanderer user, who was caught in the stun system with overwhelming damage compared to attacking other parts, couldn’t counterattack.
They probably didn’t expect to be stunned by the first attack.
Paaht!
The Wanderer user exploded cleanly into particles. I jumped up and down at the sight of the victory text in front of me.
[Placement Matches: 10 Wins, 0 Losses]
[Platinum 1 0P]
“Oh… you get Plat 1?”
I was surprised by the higher-than-expected rank. Even if I had 10 wins and 0 losses, I thought I would get Plat 5 at best, but Plat 1.
‘Well, L.O.L. isn’t just any game.’
It’s a virtual reality game with super-performance AI, so it won’t just judge the tier based on wins and losses.
‘The AI-nim realized that my skills are amazing, hmm hmm.’
The placement matches were over, but I was really too tired to start ranked games right away.
It would be one thing if I had just played 10 normal games, but I had 5 games against Enchanters out of 10, so I was mentally exhausted.
‘What time is it now? It’s only 6 PM?’
Even after doing rehabilitation training, exercise, and massage in the morning, and then playing 10 placement matches, I still have plenty of time.
‘I’m tired, so I should stop playing L.O.L. here.’
I said goodbye in the guild chat and logged out.
As soon as I arrived in the virtual room, I jumped onto the bed. The bed that always welcomes me.
[Iarang-ah, you finished early today?]
While I was rolling around on the bed, I heard Teacher Hye-sun’s voice, so I opened the settings window and displayed the hospital room screen in front of me.
There was a book and a cup on the table, as if she had been reading a book in the room.
“Why are you resting here, Teacher? Aren’t you tired?”
[What’s tiring about it? I was just sitting and reading a book.]
“Still, the feeling is different between your own space and another space.”
[I like it here where Iarang-i is? But I think it would be even better if Iarang-i was next to me~?]
I hesitated slightly at Teacher Hye-sun’s words.
I already liked being in someone’s arms, but because of the belly blanket, I preferred being held with my belly being patted.
Like how cats have a concentration of nerves around their tail and like being tapped, like how dogs like being scratched on their belly, I like belly pats. No, I’ve come to like them.
It seems that it happened as my physical senses and nerves developed.
‘This is all because of the belly blanket…’
I sighed deeply and pressed the logout button.
My vision turned pitch black, and after a while, bright light came in and I opened my eyes.
“Oh? Iarang-ah, you really came out?”
“Yeah… wasn’t that what Unnie wanted…?”
“Well, I wanted it, but I didn’t think you’d really come out. Iarang-i always logs out around dawn.”
“Hold me quickly…”
“Okay, okay. Oop-cha.”
Hye-sun Unnie didn’t have that many muscles or a great physique, but she picked me up without any trouble.
In fact, I think everyone would be able to pick me up by the time I’m in high school. As far as I remember, my weight starts with a 2.
I’m 15 years old, but because of my illness, I haven’t grown, and since I don’t have arms or legs, my weight is bound to be small.
Anyway, Hye-sun Unnie picked me up and went to the chair she had been sitting on, put me in her arms, and reached for the book with one hand while the other was on my belly.
Hye-sun Unnie slowly read the book aloud and spent time with me.
