2 – Red Dragon
by Afuhfuihgs
The sword broke.
A steel sword imbued with [Sword Aura].
But it couldn’t even scratch the Red Dragon’s scales.
She discarded the broken sword.
And drew a new one.
“Krr.”
“Hee.”
It doesn’t cry ‘Dra-gon’?
Is there a pattern?
The Red Dragon, seemingly flustered by the sword strike, gathered Magical Power in its mouth.
Not gathering it for long, but briefly. The hastily gathered Magical Power was unleashed as the Dragon’s Breath. Though the gathering time was short,
Backstep.
The fireball fell where she had been, creating an intense flash.
The explosion followed the light.
The destructive power was considerable.
Compared to the Evil Dragon she had encountered in reality, it was a young individual, but the Magical Power it possessed was befitting of a Dragon.
But it was weak.
Unfortunately.
Even with the large explosion, it wasn’t impossible to evade, and her foot, which had been in the air from the backstep, stepped on the ground and [Leaped].
She stepped on the Red Dragon’s head and brought her sword down on its neck.
[Execution Sword].
It shattered.
“….”
Her sword.
Was the [Execution Sword] weak?
‘It’s different.’
She fell into thought, looking at the broken sword.
She felt the sensation remaining on the broken sword.
The Anti-Magic Power of the [Execution Sword] couldn’t harm the Dragon’s Magical Power.
The Anti-Magic Power, which had always been sturdy and crushed the opponent’s Magical Power, shattered like thin ice.
The Red Dragon thrashed, shaking off Americano, who had been riding on its neck, sending her flying high.
She drew a new sword in mid-air.
‘The Execution Sword doesn’t work, huh?’
Whether it was an ability befitting the Lord’s pet,
A Dragon she had encountered after so long.
Dragon Heart was precious.
“I can pay the compensation later, I guess.”
She had plenty of money.
But Dragon Heart couldn’t be obtained even with money.
Landing,
[Leap].
Since her strongest Skill, [Execution Sword], didn’t work, she used something else.
If she couldn’t cut the scales,
‘I’ll break it from the inside.’
Holding the steel sword like a baseball bat, she swung it mightily.
[Leap].
[Destroying Heaven Sword].
[Leaping] from under the Red Dragon’s neck, she raised her sword high and slashed upwards.
The Blade touched the Red Dragon’s neck, and the power of [Pacheon] flowed into the scales, directly striking the inside of the neck.
The Red Dragon screamed.
It was then.
Electrical Signal.
She deflected the arrow that had been stabbing her in the back.
The sword broke.
“….”
It wasn’t just an arrow.
An arrow imbued with [Sword Aura].
It wasn’t an ordinary opponent.
‘I guess trying to catch a pet without permission was wrong.’
But they were at fault.
It was the fault of the person who failed to manage their pet for causing damage.
Even if it was a Dragon, it wouldn’t be wandering around the city on its own, so she considered it a pet, and it was common sense to kill a dangerous pet that was causing a ruckus.
Besides, Dragon Heart was an important material for increasing the power of Magical Power.
For Americano, who had difficulty raising her [Magical Power] stat due to her [Nine Yin Constitution], it was quite a tempting material.
Because she would be able to use the [Six Forms Six Styles Sword God] of the Northern Empire Swordsmanship, which she couldn’t use due to the lack of [Magical Power] stat.
‘Is it timeout?’
The person who shot the arrow arrived at the Trial Square.
Jumping off the roof of a building and landing in the square,
“….”
“….”
Their face was filled with anger.
The opponent was indeed a knight.
The knight closed the distance faster than she could open her mouth to explain.
Sword against sword.
Clash.
The vibration that echoed from the knight’s sword resonated deep within her bones.
Strong.
But,
‘Is it just a little stronger than the Great General?’
Assuming she used Electricity, Zeus Great General Wasp was stronger.
Deflecting the sword.
Parrying.
Deflecting.
Deflecting.
Deflecting.
She deflected.
Pretending to counterattack.
[Destroying Heaven Kick].
She mimicked [Heavenly Destruction Fist] with her leg.
She planted a kick on the knight’s chest, sending them flying to the wall of the square.
“….”
She shook off her sword and looked back at the Red Dragon.
It had collapsed as if dead from just one hit of [Destroying Heaven Sword].
Dragon Heart.
Even with the Lord’s knight appearing, killing it and taking it would be difficult to excuse no matter what.
Sizzle.
Sizzle.
It was then.
The Red Dragon’s form was dyed with the light of Magical Power, melting into the air like sugar in water and disappearing.
The Red Dragon disappeared, leaving behind a light source that said [Loot].
It was reminiscent of the [Loot] left behind when a Hero died.
“Huh…”
Was it a Hero?
‘Are there Heroes among Dragons?’
She knew there were Heroes among Elves and Dwarves. It wasn’t limited to humans, but she knew from experience that races were included as Heroes, but Dragons?
‘Then I slashed a Hero who was trying to climb the Tower?’
The situation had become a bit difficult.
Checking the remaining space in her Inventory, she opened the Red Dragon’s [Loot].
A teddy bear.
A unicorn doll.
A Dragon Doll.
A princess doll.
There weren’t any particularly good items. The jewels looked expensive, but she had plenty of money. She had no intention of wearing the dresses, so pass.
Seeing that the sizes of the clothes were consistent, it seemed the Red Dragon knew how to Polymorph.
Judging by the size, was it around a middle schooler?
An adult based on Full Dive standards.
A child based on reality.
It was a bit unsettling, but it would be fine.
Seeing as it was a Hero, it was probably in this area in soul form or had gone to the Temple.
From the [Loot] filled with personal preferences, there was a stone called [Sunstone]. This was the only different thing. She wanted to salvage at least one thing, so she took this.
As she was looking to see if there was anything else,
People wearing metal armor were running towards them. The shapes of the armor detected by her Electrical Ability were the same as the knight’s.
Knights.
Dozens of knights with slightly better swordsmanship skills than Zeus Great General Wasp.
It wasn’t to the point where she couldn’t win, but she didn’t want to fight to the point of ruining her relationship with a noble NPC. It was too subtle to stir her competitive spirit.
Taking Caramel, who was standing blankly at the entrance of the Tower of Trials, she ran away from the knights who were about to flood the square.
“(I, I’m dead.)”
Red Dragon Princess Henya (soul) grabbed her neck with both hands.
It hurt, but the pain disappeared as she became a soul.
But the impact of the sword strike piercing her neck was intensely etched in her memory.
The knights arrived late.
Henya greeted them, but no one could see the soul.
“Captain?!”
“Why is the Captain collapsed?!”
“You guys find Princess Henya first!!”
“Vice-Captain!!”
“Is that the Loot that Heroes leave behind when they die?”
“Nooooo!!!”
The Vice-Captain screamed.
The knights were certain that Henya was dead.
The Dragon headed to the Tower of Trials, an explosion erupted, and even the Captain of the Knights collapsed, so it goes without saying whose Loot it was.
When Henya was resurrected in the Temple, the Lord’s Castle was turned upside down by the news of the Princess’s death.
The Captain of the Knights, whom they had trusted, failed to prevent the Princess’s escape.
They could have gone to find her right away, but the rumor that a Dragon had appeared had already spread far and wide.
The news of the Princess’s death was still being kept under wraps by the knights, but it was uncertain how long it would remain so. It was fortunate that the Princess was a Hero.
Otherwise, Losfelt would have been engulfed in flames, becoming an international issue.
Therefore, the Lord paid more attention to the condition of the Captain of the Knights than to the news of the Princess’s death.
“Where’s Cainbell?”
“He hasn’t regained consciousness yet.”
“Any witnesses?”
“We’re currently investigating.”
“Are you saying there isn’t a single witness to what happened in the Trial Square? The preliminaries were being held there as well. Is it that all the Heroes, even though Princess Henya is a Hero, ran away in the face of a Dragon?”
“….”
He couldn’t finish his sentence.
“Damn bastards. We have to praise those things as Heroes.”
“But wasn’t it the Hero who was there who harmed Her Highness? I think we should arrest them all.”
“Nonsense. No matter how much those gathered there rampage, they can’t even scratch Her Highness’s body.”
Apart from the royal family, his disappointment in the Heroes who didn’t even think of fighting when a Dragon appeared was greater.
“More than anything, how are we going to arrest the one who defeated Cainbell in that instant? Right now, we need to find out who they are first. Is Her Highness still keeping her mouth shut?”
“Yes…”
The young man felt incompetent for not having found out anything.
He was constantly monitoring the posts on the community, but no useful information was gathered.
When he talked about it,
“Tsk. Go back. If you find out anything, report it immediately.”
“Understood.”
The young man. After confirming that his son had left, the Lord thought again about the one who had defeated the Captain of the Knights.
They were young, but possessed the power to kill a Dragon, and a skilled person who could defeat a High Knight in that instant was within his Territory.
If there were any individuals with skills above the level of a High Knight among those entering and leaving Losfelt, reports about them would reach the Lord’s ears.
But they all had alibis.
Not to mention the Captain of the Knights. If it was a skilled person who could defeat Cainbell, who was among the top-ranked High Knights, in an instant,
“Sword Master.”
Master.
The Lord looked out the window.
Being in the Trial Square meant there was a high possibility they were a Hero using the Tower of Trials, but among the Heroes, a Master-level one.
It was difficult to hide even a local, but it was impossible for Heroes to hide their existence because their rankings were listed on the monument.
The list of those considered Master-level had been investigated.
Not everyone with a high level had Master-level skills, and Master was a realm. Just as level 60 was called the entry level for Master, the number of Heroes who had surpassed the 60th floor through solo climbing was very small.
Master.
That honor was much heavier than the Heroes easily spoke of.
Thump thump thump thump.
Someone came running.
They flung the door open.
Princess Henya burst in.
It was the first time since becoming Lord that his office had been opened so roughly.
The Lord asked calmly.
“You seem to be in good condition.”
“Lord!”
Her mouth opened, then stopped once. Henya’s clenched fists trembled as if her resolve had hardened.
“I want to make the Hero with black hair, blue eyes, and big breasts my companion!”
