Chapter Index

In front of a quiet maze.

Jeong Yushin’s gaze was fixed on one spot.

There were a few uniquely looking explorers gathered, but only Barbaroi guys were visible.

The parties participating as investigators also kept their distance, glancing at the Barbaroi guys.

There were a total of 4 Barbaroi.

The weapons they held were mostly heavy weapons such as two-handed swords or heavy axes.

They weren’t quite as much as that Barbaroi I advised to have sex with last time, but each one reeked of a strongman.

Is the unique thing the chain around their necks?

    They looked like prisoners.

    “Scar, sir.”

    Lena approached.

She was wearing a baggy robe, and a short sword was hanging from her waist.

    “Why are those guys here?”

“They are part of the investigation team, but I heard they are going to a deeper level than us. I don’t know the details. Follow me. Let’s join the party for now.”

Lena and I joined the party.

The priest Sartre’s attire was simple.

All he had was a short staff.

On the other hand, Mick was the typical warrior. A leather armor base with plates added to the vital areas.

His equipment consisted of a round shield, an arming sword, and a dagger.

Barg was carrying a backpack on his back.

The fluffy fur bag looked cute.

Mick looked over Jeong Yushin and nodded. He seemed to have quickly figured out how he would fight.

Jeong Yushin looked around and checked the other parties participating in the maze investigation.

There was a lion beastman party with several women.

There was also a party of only short dwarves.

There were many unique compositions, but most of them reeked of veterans.

The Barbaroi found Jeong Yushin and whispered among themselves.

    ‘What are these bastards?’

As I was having a staring contest, Astaroth approached the investigation team with her subordinates, looking tired.

Several subordinates quickly came forward and installed a wooden platform.

Astaroth went up to the wooden platform and scanned the investigation team.

    “Ugh!”

Then, when she made eye contact with Jeong Yushin, her cheeks turned slightly red.

“I’ve heard it all, so I won’t explain it separately. Finish the investigation quickly. Don’t die! Depart.”

Jeong Yushin tilted his head for a moment.

I don’t know why Astaroth made eye contact with me when she shouted not to die.

    “Yes!!!”

The maze investigation team answered loudly and entered the magic circle in order.

There were only four investigation team parties.

It was a pathetic number compared to last time.

The number decreased each time the light flashed.

Jeong Yushin adjusted his luggage and stood in front of the magic circle.

The wind that had lost its heat passed by, scattering Jeong Yushin’s hair.

    ‘Is it autumn?’

Perhaps by the time I finish this maze trip and come out, it will be autumn.

I closed my eyes, thinking nonsense.

The light flashed and I felt a sense of floating.

    Thud!

I knew as soon as my feet touched the ground.

    Cool and humid air.

And darkness where you can’t even see an inch ahead.

    Maze 1st floor.

    Whirr.

As soon as I realized it, a torch lit up the surroundings.

    Mick was holding the torch.

    “Barg.”

    “I understand.”

When Lena called his name, Barg sniffed and took the lead.

Behind him were Mick, Sartre, Lena, and finally Jeong Yushin at the very back.

A straight formation to protect the priest and wizard.

The party members moved silently and moved through the maze.

    * * *

One day. Two days. Three days. Four days.

We traveled at a fast pace and arrived at Ingreave, the city on the 5th floor.

    We drastically reduced the time.

This was the result of the party members focusing on walking without sharing any small talk, and Barg’s pathfinding skills.

He smelled the hobgoblin guys from afar and avoided the fights themselves, setting the optimal route and leading the party comfortably.

He also quickly figured out the traps.

When I asked out of curiosity, Barg raised his front paw and pointed to his nose.

“Hobgoblin traps smell like feces. It’s awful. You can’t not know.”

The inside of Ingreave city was quiet.

But the closer we got to the central square, the stronger the smell of blood became.

The party members’ steps gradually slowed down.

And the scene that was revealed.

A huge number of hobgoblin corpses were filling the square.

To add a little more to the lie, blood was flowing like a river and corpses were piled up like mountains.

In the middle of the mountain of corpses, a hobgoblin cut in half was sprawled out.

    “Hmm?”

It was clearly different from the hobgoblins I had seen so far.

Should I call it an old hobgoblin?

Graying hair and a height of well over 2 meters.

    Lean but solid muscular body.

I had never seen such an entity before.

The other party members seemed to be thinking the same thing.

“It’s amazing. I’ve never seen a hobgoblin like this before. No. I don’t know if it’s even a hobgoblin.”

Lena said, examining the old hobgoblin corpse.

Jeong Yushin also approached Lena and observed the corpse.

He split the hobgoblin’s body in half with overwhelming strength and speed.

    A great sword or a two-handed axe?

I took the blood around the corpse with my finger and examined it.

Judging by the color and texture of the blood.

“It’s decaying. At least a day has passed.”

The surface layers of the maze are humid, but cool.

In humid environments, decay progresses quickly.

However, there were also parts where decay was suppressed due to the cool temperature.

I can’t consider everything. I’m just making a rough judgment.

    “…”

“It’s a unique entity. It’s worth reporting. But we can’t stay here.”

Lena spoke calmly without batting an eye even among the corpses.

Following Lena’s instructions, the party members passed through the hobgoblin corpses and immediately entered the corridor area.

Originally, we should have stayed a little longer and looked into what was happening, but it looked like the advance party had already taken care of it.

It was good to see it as meaning the investigation was over. And it also meant that we were behind other parties.

We moved through the central area and arrived at the corridor 6th floor area through the portal of the transfer stone.

As soon as we passed through the red portal, Barg growled.

“There are enemies ahead. The number is 18. 3 skeleton mages, 5 archers, and 10 warriors are rushing in.”

    Lena tilted her head.

    “That’s a lot?”

    “Get ready.”

Jeong Yushin took out a crossbow and loaded it.

    Clack!

Lena and Sartre stood still and prepared to chant, while Mick put the torch on the floor and raised his shield and sword.

As we waited quietly, bone armies came from afar, shining blue light.

    [Mind Protection]

First, Sartre’s chanting echoed through the corridor.

Water-colored beads landed on top of the party members’ heads.

The color was different from Barion’s divine magic, but it was the same magic that prevented the ‘fear’ which was the corridor’s layer rule.

The enemies immediately noticed and started running wildly towards Mick, rattling.

Mick stood at the front and took a deep breath.

    “Sex!!!!!!”

    [Taunt]

The obscene shout echoed through the corridor, and the skeletons rushed madly towards Mick all at once.

    I understand.

Bones can’t have sex, so they must be very angry.

As the warriors rushed in at once, only the skeleton mages and archers were left alone in the rear.

    ‘Now.’

    Jeong Yushin quickly charged forward.

    “Scar!!!”

    [Spirit Stream]

Sartre turned into a spirit and clung to Jeong Yushin.

Jeong Yushin gritted his teeth and accepted Sartre.

It felt like soul and soul were touching.

It wasn’t a good feeling, but energy began to overflow throughout my body.

    Bang!!!

Jeong Yushin’s figure, kicking the ground, stretched out long.

    The goal is.

    Skeleton Archer.

    Thud!!! Thud!!! Thud!!! Thud!!!

Running, I aimed the crossbow and fired bolts.

In an instant, six or seven bolts flew towards the rear of the monsters.

Aimless shooting with accuracy thrown to the dogs.

But the effect was good because it was close-range shooting.

    Crack!!! Pow!!! Thwack!!!

The skeleton archers, hit by the bolts and their bones broken, staggered. In an instant, the monster guys became crippled.

The guy who was hit in the head immediately lost the light of his eyes and fell from his spot.

Jeong Yushin landed in the middle of the monsters and drew his bastard sword.

    Shhh.

    Swaaack!!!

    Crack!!!

I cut the neck bones of the struggling skeleton archers and blew away their arms.

    “Put it in gently!!!”

    Mick shouted from afar.

    Jeong Yushin immediately understood.

Because the skeletons stopped moving towards Mick.

‘Did I put in too much damage?’

It seems the aggro has been diverted.

Jeong Yushin plunged his bastard sword into the ground.

    Clang!!!

Sparks flew and the sword was stuck between the stone slabs.

Immediately, I loaded the crossbow in one hand and fired it in all directions.

    Front, back, left, right.

I didn’t care about posture. I didn’t need to aim either.

    Thud!!! Thud!!! Thud!!! Thud!!!

The skeleton guys with their bones shattered fell one by one.

Expensive stuff is good after all.

    [Ice Sphere]

A long ice spear flew and pierced the head of a skeleton mage who was about to chant magic.

    [Ice Sphere]

A new ice spear flew and hit another skeleton mage.

The second ice spear missed slightly and only shattered the skeleton mage’s ribs.

Jeong Yushin immediately ran towards the skeleton mage.

Because that guy’s buff magic was terribly annoying.

I brought the crossbow to the skeleton mage’s temple, who was staggering.

    Clack.

The skeleton mage’s eye light briefly brightened.

    Was he surprised?

    Thud!!!

The bolt fired from a very close distance broke and pierced the skull’s head.

    Crack!!!

The skeleton wizard guy lost his light and fell helplessly.

I took care of the archers and swept the mages.

    All that’s left is slaughter.

Jeong Yushin went behind the skeleton warriors that Mick was blocking and cut their necks one by one.

    Swoosh!!!

The last skeleton warrior’s neck bone was cut cleanly and fell to the floor.

The extermination of 18 skeleton monsters was over in an instant.

    “Scar!!! You really fight well?”

The possessed Sartre said in a surprised voice.

“Please get out of my body now.”

“Can’t I stay a little longer? I like it here.”

“Please get out of my head quickly.”

Mick looked at Jeong Yushin for a moment and raised his thumb.

    Jeong Yushin nodded.

The feeling of being recognized by decent veteran explorers wasn’t bad.

“Put it in gently. Deviant netorare sex only leads to ruin.”

    “I understand. Sex.”

    Jeong Yushin understood perfectly.

It meant that when the aggro was not completely captured, I shouldn’t recklessly inflict damage and disrupt the party’s balance.

“But it’s strange that they’re already swarming like this.”

Lena looked down at the bones with suspicious eyes.

Barg raised his hind leg and urinated in the corner, then slowly approached.

“Let’s rest a bit and recover our stamina. There’s a shelter nearby, so let’s go there.”

The party members walked through the hallway and arrived at the shelter.

    A small room.

    There was no one.

We took out firewood, lit a fire, and ate our own food.

Lena took out food and water from the backpack on Barg’s back and divided them into separate food and water bowls.

Barg put his nose in the bowl and started eating.

Mick sat down and chewed on jerky, and Sartre nibbled on hard biscuits.

Jeong Yushin also sat down and chewed on dried fruit.

    I suddenly became curious.

Because the party’s coordination was familiar.

“Are you guys a fixed party?”

    Lena shook her head.

“No. I often come to the maze with Barg and Priest Sartre, but we don’t form a fixed party separately.”

    “Why?”

Sartre, who had finished eating, joined in.

“Lena is busy. As a wizard, she has a lot of things to research. It’s inevitable that she’s irregular to form a fixed party.”

    “I see.”

“Oh my. You can speak comfortably.”

    “Yes.”

Even so, Jeong Yushin was polite.

    “That’s a shame.”

    Sartre smiled bitterly.

    ‘Your face is more regrettable.’

I swallowed the curse inwardly and turned my head.

Mick was leaning against the wall, staring only at the bonfire.

The party members looked at Mick following Jeong Yushin’s gaze.

    “Vagina sex.”

    “…”

    The atmosphere became heavy.

    Tap tap!!!

Mick came to his senses and tapped his mouth.

Lena and Sartre had expressionless faces. Barg yawned and stared at the door with half-closed eyes.

    “Scar, sir.”

    “Why?”

“Are you really a lower-intermediate explorer?”

    “Yes.”

“You fight too well? Don’t you actually have another engraving?”

    Sartre asked instead of Lena.

    “…”

Jeong Yushin crossed his arms and made eye contact with Sartre.

“Oh my! Does that mean you want me to reveal mine first if you want to know my engraving?”

Sartre smiled and took out a pendant from her bosom and threw it to Jeong Yushin.

    “Take it.”

Jeong Yushin snatched the flying pendant.

    “Open it.”

When I opened the pendant, there was a small portrait inside.

    In her 20s.

A brown-haired priest woman smiling calmly in the picture.

She was quite a beauty. Her breasts were big too.

    Jeong Yushin raised his head.

“Your hair color is the same. Is she your younger sister?”

    “No.”

    Sartre shook his head.

    “It’s me.”

    Jeong Yushin’s eyes widened.

    “What?!”
