667 – Yang So
Whoosh-!
Gaeul soared towards the pond, tracing a parabolic arc.
She rose higher than Levinas’s power jump and collided with the pond.
Splash-!
The water of the pond surged upwards before settling back down.
The fish fled far away, and in the center of the rough ripples, Gaeul floated.
Perhaps due to her light body, Gaeul had her eyes closed as if she were sleeping on the surface of the pond.
“Gaeul, are you okay?”
“Heh···”
Gaeul responded to my voice by wagging her submerged tail.
The tail, struggling due to buoyancy, became a sort of propeller, pushing Gaeul forward.
“Wow.”
Gaeul swam over to where we were using her tail.
It felt like watching a sea otter lying on the ocean.
I wondered if I could swim like that with a tail too.
Curious, I started to wag my own tail, and Levinas crouched down in front of Gaeul.
“Gaeul, aren’t you scared of the jump?!”
“No. Not scared.”
Her meaning was that it wasn’t as scary as a ghost.
Understanding Gaeul’s intent, Levinas immediately approached the catapult.
“Levinas will fly like a super Horned Rabbit!”
“What’s a super Horned Rabbit? Is it different from a hero Horned Rabbit?”
“Yeah! A super Horned Rabbit is this!”
Levinas placed his left hand on his waist and stretched his right hand towards the sky.
It was a pose like a superhero flying through the air.
“Wow, that would look really cool if you flew like that.”
“Yeah!”
As Levinas sat in the catapult chair, Haneul operated the catapult for him.
Clank-!
A brief tension arose with the mechanical sound.
The tension quickly vanished along with the catapult’s launch.
Boom-!
“Whoa···!”
Levinas, soaring high into the sky, seemed to open his Rabbit eyes, then changed his expression as if nothing had happened.
He wore a serious expression typical of a hero, but perhaps due to fear of the catapult, he looked a bit stiff.
Splash-!
Still, Levinas jumped into the pond quite stylishly.
It was enough to earn our applause.
“Wow! Just now, Levinas really looked like a super Horned Rabbit!”
“···Good Bomi.”
Levinas, confidently walking out of the pond, turned to Bomi.
With a serious voice, Bomi’s eyes widened.
“Levinas, what’s wrong?”
“Levinas isn’t just like a super Horned Rabbit; he is a super Horned Rabbit···!”
“Oh, right!”
Bomi acknowledged without any playfulness that Levinas was indeed a super Horned Rabbit.
Certainly, Levinas just now was truly a Horned Rabbit.
“I want to be a super dragon too!”
“Yeah! Good Bomi will be a super dragon too!”
“Okay!”
And so we took turns playing with the catapult.
At first, it was scary, but as we kept riding it, the fear faded away, leaving only fun.
Whoosh-!
The children took turns striking cool poses.
All the poses they created were so cool that it was impossible to pick a winner.
“Hehe.”
This is fun.
I want to ride again after lining up.
I wagged my tail gently while watching Saebyeok fly like a cat jumping.
**
After playing with the catapult, we returned to the Ggaemmi Guild.
The next game was drawing.
The children seemed to have enjoyed playing with the catapult, as they were drawing pictures of themselves flying in the sky.
Levinas in a cape, and Haneul flying while shooting beams from his hands.
Bomi drew a black dragon floating among the clouds, and Saebyeok, while drawing a picture of herself sleeping on a bed, actually fell asleep.
“Wow.”
Everyone’s drawing skills were quite impressive.
I picked up a crayon and started drawing, then turned to Gaeul, who was sitting next to me.
Gaeul was drawing a half pink oval on a white sketchbook.
‘What is this?’
Is it some kind of abstract art?
Unable to contain my curiosity, I had to ask.
“Gaeul, what kind of picture is this?”
“Milk.”
Gaeul stuck out her tongue, mimicking the act of licking milk.
Only then did I realize that the half pink oval was Gaeul’s tongue.
“Oh, you’re licking milk?”
“Yeah!”
The children, having finished their drawings, giggled as they passed each other’s pictures around.
This was my favorite moment during drawing time.
“Everyone draws really well.”
While I was carefully examining the children’s drawings, I heard someone’s voice from outside.
Among the voices was Nora’s, who should be in the Beastmen village.
Why did Nora come here?
I ran outside with the children’s drawings, thinking I could show them off to Nora.
“Here it is.”
Nora was handing something to Argo.
It was a white animal tied with a leash, one I had never seen before.
Should I say it looked like a mix between a sheep and a cow?
“What’s this animal, Nora?”
Curious, I pressed down on its fur and asked.
The fluffy and thick fur was enough to envelop my upper body.
“It’s livestock raised in the Beastmen village.”
“Is that so? I’ve never seen one before.”
“Yes. It didn’t exist in this world. I was lucky to acquire it this time.”
“Ah.”
It was large but very gentle.
The fur was incredibly fluffy too.
I’ll name you Yangso from now on.
I hugged Yangso’s fluffy fur tightly.
Yangso’s fur was so big and fluffy that it could completely engulf my body.
“But why did you bring Yangso?”
“I was testing whether Yangso could settle in this world.”
“Oh, I see.”
Yangso munched on the grass in the park.
Being so big, it was clear it would eat a lot.
Munch munch-
Yangso kept munching on the grass until Nora left, saying she would take good care of it.
It truly had an enormous appetite.
I wondered if it would leave anything behind after eating this much.
No, the grass would just grow back anyway…
As I crossed my arms, calculating Yangso’s commercial value, Argo’s tail thumped against the guild floor.
“Boss! Boss! Yangso eats paper too! It’s amazing!”
“What?”
Snapped out of my thoughts by Argo’s shout, I looked at Yangso.
It was munching on the drawing I had briefly set down.
“Uh…?”
The drawing the children had worked hard on was disappearing into its mouth.
I was taken aback, having never expected the drawing to be eaten.
Come to think of it, sheep do eat paper.
Is it because it’s an animal that combines a sheep and a cow?
In this shocking situation, I had no choice but to lie down flat on the ground.
“My drawing…”
I felt like launching my body far away with the catapult.
**
I stood there dazed for a while.
Then, one by one, the children started running out of the guild.
“Gyeoul!”
“Uh, yeah…?”
“I heard Nora’s voice, where did she go?”
Bomi, who was looking around, saw Yangso and her eyes widened.
She looked quite flustered.
“···Is that Nora?”
“Ummaeaeae.”
Yangso responded to Bomi’s words with a mixed sound of a sheep and a cow.
It was a fascinating sound, but my heart felt heavy.
It was because I had given the children’s hard-drawn pictures as food to Yangso.
“Did Nora use transformation magic to become a giant sheep?!”
“No, it’s a real animal.”
“Really?!”
“Yeah. She gave it to us to try raising it.”
As I was explaining about Yangso while wiggling my fingers, Levinas shook the drawing tools he had brought out.
“Wanga! Levinas wants to fix his drawing!”
“Uh, about that…”
As I spoke, I glanced at Yangso.
Wondering how to phrase it, I decided to just tell the truth.
“Yangso ate the drawing…”
“What?!”
Levinas’s Rabbit eyes widened.
I thought he was surprised, but it seemed he just couldn’t believe it.
“Wanga, how can it eat paper?”
It was a question filled with pure curiosity, not doubt.
Indeed, it was hard to believe that it could eat paper.
“Well, sheep normally eat paper. Paper is made from plants.”
“Huh?! Is that so?!”
Levinas’s eyes widened as he rushed into the guild office and came back with a piece of paper.
Then, he pushed the paper into Yangso’s mouth, telling it to try eating.
“Ummaeae.”
Munch munch-
Yangso took the paper Levinas offered and started chewing on it.
The sound of the paper being chewed made the children’s ears perk up.
“Huh?!”
“It really ate it…”
A surprised Gaeul tapped Yangso’s head.
She even checked around its mouth to confirm if it really had eaten the paper.
“Wanga! It really ate the paper…!”
“Uh, yeah… so the drawing…”
“How can it eat paper?!”
Levinas didn’t seem to care about the drawing being eaten.
He was just curious about Yangso eating paper.
“Levinas, let’s feed it again! Again!”
“Yeah!”
Encouraged by Bomi, Levinas went to get another piece of paper from the office.
I hurriedly stopped the children from trying to feed it.
“Kids, if you feed it too much, it might get a stomachache.”
“Huh! Is that so?!”
Levinas’s face darkened in real-time.
He couldn’t help but be alarmed since he had fed it something that might cause a stomachache.
“But it should be okay a little. Yangso… has the ability to digest paper.”
“Is that so…?”
Phew, it was a moment when Levinas felt relieved.
Yangso approached and started munching on the paper in Levinas’s hand.
“Huh?!”
Levinas, startled, pulled his hand back, but the paper was already in Yangso’s mouth.
Seeing this, Gaeul patted Yangso’s back.
“Tap! Tap!”
She shouted not to eat it, but Yangso remained silent.
Gaeul tried to tap Yangso’s back with a bit more force, but it was no use.
It was because Yangso’s fur was quite fluffy.
“Huh…?”
Yangso’s fur couldn’t be struck with gentle strength.
Gaeul made a blank expression as she looked at her hand that bounced off Yangso’s fluffy fur.
