    609 – What is a Strange Teacher?

    609 – What is a Strange Teacher?

Infiltrating the school could be considered the Ggaemmi Guild’s first social contribution activity.

A very important mission of protecting children in the local community.

Of course, it wasn’t confirmed that the teacher was really a bad person.

That’s why I decided to go check for myself.

    “Gyeoul, look at this.”

    Bomi handed me the laptop.

The laptop screen was streaming the scene I was seeing.

More precisely, it was streaming the scene that the Magic Glasses I was wearing were seeing.

    ‘Amazing.’

The Spy Glasses that Jeong Yuna gave me also had screen transmission and earphone functions.

The earphone sound was quiet, and although human ears were created due to the Transformation Magic, Bomi’s Transformation Magic maintained the hearing ability as it was.

Thanks to that, I could organically convey and receive information from our makeshift command center.

“We’ll talk to you while watching the screen, so Gyeoul, do you want to go outside?”

    “Okay.”

I put on the glasses as a test and went outside.

Then the kids spoke to me through the laptop.

-Wang-a Wang-a! Can you hear Levinas’ voice well, over?!

“Yes. I can hear very clearly, over.”

-Then first look down at the ground, over!

    “The ground?”

At Levinas’ words, I looked down.

There were just a few small ants crawling on the floor.

-There are some tiny ants passing by, over!

    -Ggaemmi!

    “Ah.”

They just wanted to see ants.

I picked up a few ants crawling on the floor.

It was to give them as a gift to Gaeul, who likes ants.

Gaeul would probably just watch the ants for a while without bothering them and then let them go.

I immediately returned to the guild building and gave the ants to Gaeul.

    “Ggaemmi!”

    “Yeah. Looks like baby ants.”

    Swish swish-

I patted Gaeul’s head and looked around.

Everything from the situation room to the operation plan was perfect.

Now all that’s left is to hide my identity with the help of the Dawn Guild and infiltrate, right?

I decided to focus on acting for the remaining time.

In my opinion, Bomi had the most important role in this operation.

    **

The elementary school that Woosung and Dahee attend.

With the help of the Dawn Guild, transferring schools was really simple.

I could easily infiltrate Dahee’s class with a new face and new identity.

“Now, we have a new friend today.”

I entered the classroom guided by Dahee’s teacher, Kang Jin-kyung.

I heard she was a violent teacher, but her first impression was surprisingly kind.

“Summer, would you like to introduce yourself?”

Teacher Kang Jin-kyung called me by my alias and encouraged me to introduce myself.

I felt a little nervous as the attention of the class focused on me, but I endured it thinking of the mission.

    “Um…”

I listened carefully for what would come through the earphone.

Bomi was supposed to come up with words that would provoke the teacher’s personality without being too extreme.

-I think just saying “hi” coolly would be enough.

    “…Hi.”

I gave a short self-introduction as Bomi instructed.

I could feel the teacher beside me getting flustered.

    “Is that all…?”

“Yes. I have nothing more to say.”

A kid who’s not exactly impolite, but somehow seems to look down on people.

That was the character I had to act out.

It was important to strike the right balance, as being too blatantly rude could make even a normal adult angry.

“Then Summer, why don’t you go sit in that back seat?”

    “Okay.”

They even use tablets in elementary schools these days.

The blackboard looks like a TV?

As I was quietly observing the elementary school on my own, class suddenly started.

    Math time.

I wasn’t particularly good at math, but I didn’t find elementary math difficult.

Thanks to that, I could look around without focusing on the lesson.

‘The kids don’t seem to be afraid of the teacher.’

Contrary to my expectations, the children were comfortably taking the class.

Teacher Kang Jin-kyung was also quite gentle.

    ‘What’s going on?’

Had I made a hasty judgment?

Confused, I decided to observe a little more.

They had said she only particularly disliked a few students.

There was no reason for children who weren’t part of that group to dislike the teacher.

    “Summer?”

    “Yes?”

“Would you like to try solving this math problem?”

Had she noticed me getting distracted for a moment?

Kang Jin-kyung singled me out to solve the problem.

Here, I was supposed to follow the children’s instructions.

-Let’s confidently say we don’t know.

    -I don’t know either.

Measuring the angles of shapes is a difficult problem for Gaeul.

Thinking of Gaeul, the corners of my mouth unconsciously lifted slightly.

    “I don’t know.”

Because of my raised corners, it ended up looking like a mocking attitude.

With this attitude, even a kind adult would get angry.

As I was taken aback by my own attitude, something surprising happened.

“Summer, did you not learn this far at your previous school?”

    “…Yes.”

Kang Jin-kyung, who I thought would get angry, showed an understanding expression instead.

I was just bewildered as she kept showing only kind behavior.

    ‘What’s going on?’

Did I make a wrong judgment?

As I was scratching my head, the teacher approached me and bent her knees to match my eye level.

“Summer, can you come to the staff room during lunch time?”

    “The staff room?”

“Yes. I want to find out how far you learned at your previous school. I’ll teach you separately on the parts you’re lacking.”

    “Ah… okay…”

    What’s this?

Why is the teacher so kind?

It doesn’t seem like she’s calling me separately to scold me.

It’s clear that I made a wrong judgment.

Still, I decided to observe a little more for now.

    **

    “Summer, are you Gyeoul?”

    “……?!”

On my way to the staff room, someone called my real name.

Startled, I turned around to find Woosung and Dahee.

    “You… knew it was me…?”

“Yeah. You said you’d help and transferred, and your behavior is somewhat similar to Gyeoul’s.”

    “I, I see…”

    I looked around.

There were children showing curiosity towards the transfer student, but fortunately, it seemed they didn’t hear Dahee’s words.

“Guys, I’m undercover, so you can’t call me by my real name. And don’t act too familiar either.”

    “Okay, Gyeo…Summer.”

    Gyeosummer?

It felt strange to hear my name mixed like that.

    -She said Gyeosummer.

I could hear Bomi laughing through the glasses.

It was certainly an amusing name.

“I’ll go to the staff room for now.”

    “Okay. Got it.”

After parting with the children, I moved to the staff room.

I thought I might get scolded separately in the staff room, but Kang Jin-kyung really just asked about my progress.

“Summer, can you tell me how far you’ve progressed?”

“Well, in Korean we’ve gone up to here…”

I pointed to random pages while observing Kang Jin-kyung.

She seemed too kind to be a teacher who would commit violence against children.

    “And in science…”

    Rattle-

While I was pointing to appropriate pages, someone opened the staff room door and came in.

It was a neat-looking male teacher wearing gym clothes.

“Oh… Are you the new transfer student I heard about?”

    “Yes. I’m the transfer student.”

    “Is that so?”

    From top to bottom.

    His gaze scanned me.

It was a somewhat burdensome look.

    ‘What’s this?’

Just as I was feeling an inexplicable aversion to his gaze, it happened.

    Thwack-!

    “Nyak!”

I unconsciously let out a feline-like scream at the strong impact on my head.

It wasn’t a long “nyaaa” but a short “nyak,” so there was room for excuse.

    “Summer, are you playing around?”

    “Ye-yes…?”

When I turned around, the kind Kang Jin-kyung teacher had a tiger-like expression.

I was so surprised by the nice person acting like this that my body started trembling.

“Is it a problem if the progress is different from your previous school?”

    “Th-that’s…”

“I’ll let you know how far we’ve progressed, so study at home, understood?”

    “Ye-yes…”

“We only have morning classes today, so go home quickly.”

Surprised by the suddenly fierce Kang Jin-kyung teacher, my back was pushed out.

As I was going out in shock, the gym-clothed teacher put his hand on my head.

“Teacher Kang Jin-kyung is too scary, right?”

    “……”

Unable to say anything, I just looked up at him before running outside.

I was pondering why Kang Jin-kyung teacher suddenly became scary when it happened.

-Gyeoul, I think there’s something about that male teacher?

Jeong Yuna’s voice came through the glasses earphone.

At Jeong Yuna’s words, I fell into thought for a moment.

    ‘Is that so?’

The kind teacher changed completely after the male teacher came.

    I didn’t know why either.

-It seemed like she was trying to protect Gyeoul.

    “…Me?”

-Yeah. It looked like she was trying to prevent contact with the male teacher. Though it could be my imagination.

    “Hmm…”

Hearing it like this, it does seem like she’s wary of the male teacher.

As I was pondering, I secretly followed the male teacher coming out of the staff room.

    Step step-

He passed through the playground and moved to the warehouse on the opposite side.

It seemed to be a warehouse for storing physical education equipment.

‘Given that he’s wearing gym clothes, could he be the PE teacher?’

I might be able to find out something if I’m alone with the one the female teacher was wary of.

I hurriedly entered the PE warehouse.

    “Teacher.”

“You’re… Summer, right? What brings you here?”

    “I wanted to practice PE.”

“Is that so? It’ll be hard alone, won’t it?”

He scanned me with an even stranger look than before.

I approached the teacher, pretending not to know anything.

It was with the intention of finding out something he was hiding.

“Could you help me a little, teacher?”

“Should I? Do you know how to use the vaulting box, Summer?”

    “The vaulting box?”

“Yes. It’s the next lesson, want to try?”

    “Um… okay.”

    He’s kindly explaining well.

Is this teacher just a nice teacher too?

While I was bewildered, he brought the vaulting box board from the warehouse.

It was a typical board you put your hands on and jump over.

    ‘Jumping is easy for me.’

Just as I was about to run towards the board, it happened.

The teacher approached me and grabbed my wrist.

“When you jump, place your hands here on the board.”

Saying that, the teacher stroked the back of my hand.

Just as I was about to sense something strange, he grabbed my waist and lifted me onto the vaulting box.

“You jump like this, but you shouldn’t sit like this.”

He lifted me and sat me on the vaulting box.

The hand holding my waist was gradually moving down.

    “Do you understand?”

    “Yes…”

As his hand was about to slide down my pelvis, I immediately jumped off the vaulting box.

It was because his touch felt strangely creepy.

“Do you have any other questions?”

“Um… no. I’ll just keep practicing for now.”

“Alright. Then I’ll go to the staff room for a bit.”

He waves his hand and walks out of the warehouse.

I hid behind the tall vaulting box and watched him leave.

    Click-

The warehouse door opens and he slips out.

After watching him disappear, I looked down at my waist following the path of his hand.

    Something feels bad.

Could it be what I’m thinking?

Just as I was furrowing my brows, it happened.

    Crash-!

Someone flew in as the warehouse door was smashed.

It was the PE teacher who had just left.

The PE teacher who flew in mid-air crashes into the warehouse equipment.

Behind the door stood Hanyeoreum with the scariest expression I’d ever seen.

    “You, bas…”

She frowned intensely and bit her lip hard.

Surprised, I ended up hiding behind the vaulting box.
