Christie began to back away, hugging the prince and putting the wire around his pale neck.

“Stop talking nonsense! If you come any closer, I’ll stab you!”

As one of the soldiers with a troubled face stepped forward, Christie shouted. As a prince who was suddenly being held hostage, it felt like a hug that was a little too tight for a pre-arranged play, but on the other hand, it made my heart flutter a little.

“I always thought that this situation would happen someday!”

    The prince whispered.

“Please act more scared. I’m in danger.”

Christie looked at the prince with a look of bewilderment, then backed away to the door and kicked it open with her heel.

“Are you going to let him run away? He’s trying to escape!”

As Christie walked out of the building, glaring at the soldiers, one of the soldiers, sword drawn, asked his superior.

“Stay still. You must refrain from making any forced approaches until the safety of the prince is secured. Commander Duzan may be in trouble.”

A woman dressed in a high-ranking officer’s uniform says this and stops the soldiers.

“Wasn’t royalty nothing anymore? I don’t know why I have to hesitate!”

“Shhh! That prince is a son-in-law from a foreign country! Diplomatic issues are at stake! Do you know how big things will get if that guy really stabs you?”

The officer spitting and shouting. And the problem was that he didn’t understand the situation. I had already heard that the commander had some health problems that day, but it was just a minor indigestion like any other day. What on earth happened in the middle of the banquet?

Moreover, the woman who was currently taking hostages in front of her eyes was much younger than her, but she was one of the commander’s closest aides who had risen to a higher rank in a short period of time. She was confused as to why such a person had been ordered to be arrested by the commander, and what she should do about the situation.

“Okay, everyone keep your distance. If you think the prince’s life is important. ”

“There! Back off! Hurry up! Do you want me to die? Further, further! Three more steps back!”

Christie walked toward the broken canal that connected to the castle walls, and spoke to the soldiers who were following her at a distance. The prince noticed a soldier approaching from a side that Christie had not noticed, and gave suspiciously specific instructions on how far to retreat.

“Look around you more carefully! That was really dangerous just now!”

The prince whispered nervous advice to his captor who was threatening his life.

    “⋯⋯⋯.”

“If this continues, the guy will really run away! Make a decision!”

The soldier, who was very annoyed at having to just watch helplessly, shouted at his superior.

“Ugh⋯⋯. You there! Run now and tell the commander about this situation. I’ll try to talk to the guy. ”

The officer, clutching his pounding head, pointed to a soldier standing behind him and gave instructions. He then placed his sword on the ground and began to stride towards the soldiers.

“Is it okay for the prince to do whatever happens? It would be better to stop talking nonsense.”

As the officer approaches, Christie hugs the prince tighter and holds the wire threateningly to his neck.

“Okay, wait. Wait. I came here to talk. Look at this. I’m not armed at all.”

The officer holds out both palms towards Christie.

“Why are you doing this? If you harm the prince, you will eventually die too. Since the arrest order has been given, we must take you to the commander. What on earth have you done?”

“⋯That’s not something you guys should know.”

As expected, the prince thought to himself. There is no way that the puppet soldiers of that power would understand what someone like Juaron was doing. Even without asking what great purpose she had achieved and why she had run away, judging by this woman’s great ambition, he had no doubt that she would soon liberate the palace from these fools.

‘Even if she was a woman, it seems like she wouldn’t be able to easily tell her subordinates that her husband had been stolen.’

    Christie was relieved.

“Then tell me what you want. Shouldn’t that be the start of the conversation?”

    The officer continued.

“I will walk on these two feet and escape the palace with my neck still attached. If you just stand there with a blank expression like now and watch me escape, I will foolishly hand the prince over to you. ”

“⋯⋯Hey, wait a minute. Weren’t you going to take me too?”

The prince shouted. Christie closed her eyes and bit her lips tightly. The officers and soldiers were also shocked by the prince’s sudden action.

“⋯I’m going to jump down the wall. Even if I land on the water, it’ll be dangerous.”

Christie whispered in a voice so that only the prince could hear.

“I can swim too! There are so many islands in my home country, don’t worry!”

“Please speak in a small voice⋯⋯.”

Christie speaks while gritting her teeth as if she is about to draw blood.

“⋯⋯Come, Prince. We will protect you. Come here quickly!”

“No! Just touch my body! Joa-ron? Take me. You never know when they’ll break their promise and come after you. Yes? ”

The prince kicked the officer and shouted at Christie.

    “Excuse me, what’s going on⋯?”

    “Ugh… Don’t ask. I don’t know either.”

A soldier asks, but there’s no way he’d know because he’s an officer.

“Okay. I’ll be honest with you. Joao Ron, I think I’m in love with you.”

I don’t know if this is something you would say to someone who has wires shoved into their neck, but the prince’s unexpected confession changed the atmosphere at the scene.

“⋯What about His Highness the Crown Prince?”

    The prince shook his head.

“You’re just a kid. It was a boring political marriage. I was drawn to you, who is mentally mature. I’ve finally found my true love!”

Christie didn’t know what expression to make. She just dropped her jaw, just like when her stepfather lied to her mother right in front of her when she was a child. Why did men always appear like this, acting capriciously and shaking things up just when she thought she had a good grasp of the world? Even her extraordinary brain had its limits in fully understanding these creatures.

But one thing was certain: Christie was not used to being loved completely. That was because all she had ever seen was love twisted and torn apart by herself.

“I’m sorry, but I⋯ have a hard time accepting this, Your Majesty.”

“Why??? Wait, put this down and let’s talk.”

Christie put the prince down at the very bold request. The prince put his hands on his waist and looked up at Christie with a look of incomprehension.

“Maybe the prince is a little tired and is mistaken about something. He might change his mind when he wakes up.”

“What? I don’t impulsively tell anyone about my love. Joao Ron! Your courage! Your determination! And your tall stature and looks⋯⋯. I’m definitely in love with you. Please come on a love elopement with me!”

    “⋯⋯How did this happen.”

Christie looked around, sweating profusely. It seemed she wasn’t the only one looking bewildered.

“Come back home with me. I will tell your mother. Everything. Since she is someone who loves and cares only for me, I believe she will definitely allow me to tell her about you.”

The prince took Christie’s hand and hummed. As soon as he finished speaking, he jumped up and hugged her, naturally kissing her on the lips.

    “⋯⋯!”

    Clap clap clap

“What kind of kid is that?”

One of the soldiers who was clapping and putting down his sword at the sight suddenly froze at the officer’s shout.

“Hey, go and catch it! You can’t miss it!”

If that woman had thrown herself over the wall while holding the prince, it would have been a disaster. Unable to delay any longer, she made up her mind and gave instructions to her soldiers.

Christie is caught off guard by the sudden kiss from the prince, and while she is off guard, soldiers rush over and grab her by both arms. After pulling the prince away from Christie, the soldiers begin to pin her down on the ground and tie her up.

“No! My love! Let go of Joao! I said leave him alone!”

The prince struggles in the soldier’s arms and screams loudly.

Afterwards, he took the prince, who had started to cry, to a far away place, tied Christie up tightly, and prepared to transport her to the dungeon that Uriel had made hastily after taking power.

At about the same time, Sir Epirem, who was waiting for an opportunity with his armed men outside the banquet hall, did not miss the movements of the soldiers who began to move busily.

“Those guys are starting to panic. Did Lord Dice succeed in his mission?”

“But, you haven’t sent any signal yet.”

“There probably wasn’t any night training scheduled today, but at least something happened. What if they caught you before you could send us a signal⋯⋯?”

A quiet tension hangs between Lord Epirem and his men.

“Then it is our duty to complete our assigned mission and carry out His will!”

“Let’s go! Let’s go and rescue the King and Queen!”

The special forces of Epirem rushed out of the grass and began to fly towards the banquet hall windows all at once. They quickly infiltrated the place where the king and queen were thought to be staying, amidst the screaming and panicking banquetgoers at the sudden commotion.

“Your Majesty! We’re here! Get out of here!”

“Epirem⋯! How did you get here⋯⋯.”

In a small room that served as one of the servants’ quarters, King Arsul and his consort rose from their simple wooden chairs at the sudden visit.

“How could you treat the king of this country like this⋯! You don’t have to worry anymore. Sir Dice did it!”

Sir Epirem is unable to contain her anger at the sight of the bland and tasteless cookies on the table and the watery contents of the teacups. Her subordinates surround the king and queen and escort them out of the room.

“I didn’t know that there were still subjects like you. I thought it was all over now.”

“Don’t worry. First of all, we need to secure command of the scattered soldiers.”

But before they have taken a few steps, they are face to face with a face they should never have encountered, a face they never expected to encounter.

“⋯You, Uriel Duzan! How did you⋯⋯.”

“Epirem? Are there still kids left who play pranks like this? I’m already in a bad mood. Are you going to hit me in the back of the head like this?”

Uriel glared at King Arsul, who was hiding behind Lord Epirem’s back, and asked nervously.

    “⋯Ugh.”

King Arsul lowers his eyes and shrinks.

“What the hell is going on⋯⋯? That guy is definitely Lord Dice⋯.”

“Damn it… I’m trapped. There’s no way out.”

Epirem’s men whispered to each other as they faced off against Uriel’s soldiers.

    “Hey, Your Majesty Arsul.”

    “Behave yourself, you traitor!!!”

Epirem shouts in anger when Uriel calls the king in a cold tone.

“⋯⋯If only I could just see your heads ripped from your bodies right here and now.”

Uriel continued to speak fiercely without even giving Epirem a glance.

“You still want my attention so badly, so I think you have something to tell me. Right now, I have some family matters that are more important than work. Let’s talk about it later. You know that, right? At least I haven’t touched your daughter yet. This time, please be considerate of my family.”

After saying that, Uriel turns around and gives some nonchalant instructions to the soldiers.

“Take care of everything except the Arsul couple.”

    “I’m sorry, Epirem. I’m sorry⋯.”

Sir Dice sat on the small boat, muttering over and over again with a blank expression on his face. The prince just watched her with a complicated expression.
