The Saint’s Weekend (1)

    1.

    A week later.

The academy had returned to normal.

Except for the clock tower in the central hall being repaired, it was back to its usual state.

    This incident was successfully concluded.

    The culprit was dead.

    Ether professor of Summoning Magic.

He was behind everything, including this incident and the entrance exam.

A traitor who betrayed humanity and made a deal with the Demon race, becoming a Demon.

It was fortunate that he was dealt with quickly.

If he had been given time to adapt to the Demonic energy, he would have caused even greater damage.

    “Was it this student again?”

    Headmaster Croto reviewed the report.

    “Hoth Lagtree.”

The name of the student who defeated the Demon.

This year’s freshmen were exceptionally talented.

But to think that there would be someone among them who could defeat a Demon alone.

    “A truly unexpected individual.”

Except for defeating the Demon in the third exam, his scores in the first and second exams were only in the upper-middle range.

    Was he hiding his strength?

He was looking forward to his academy life.

If he showed such feats as soon as he entered, what would he be like when he graduated?

Hoth wasn’t the only one he was looking forward to.

    -Rustle

    Croto flipped through the report.

    Yohan, the Hero’s disciple.

He didn’t make as big of a contribution as defeating a Demon, but.

He protected the students even at the cost of his own body.

    “What’s this…?”

There were a few reports mixed in that seemed to have been submitted as a joke.

Reports that a Saintess wielding a sword roamed the academy and defeated Summoned beasts.

    Croto chuckled.

    Too absurd.

Was it even possible that the frail Saintess could cut down Summoned beasts that even fourth-year students in the Swordsmanship department couldn’t easily handle, as if she were mowing grass?

    “Impossible.”

    Croto shook his head.

    2.

“How long are you going to keep doing that?”

    I sighed.

    “I’m so sorry!”

Rael was prostrate on the floor.

“For a knight to fail to protect the Saintess when he should have been protecting her… I am disqualified as a knight!”

He had been like this for a week.

Because he failed to protect me during the academy’s attack.

It’s not that I don’t understand his feelings.

“There was something I asked you to do, wasn’t there?”

I had ordered Rael to monitor Ether professor.

Of course, he didn’t do that properly either.

“So, it’s possible that our paths crossed and we couldn’t meet. I’m just happy that Hyung cares about me so much?”

    I coaxed and soothed Rael.

    “And it’s enough that I wasn’t hurt.”

    “Still…!”

“Okay, let’s end this conversation here.”

    I clapped my hands.

I was sick of hearing the same story for a week.

“Don’t dwell too much on the past. You can do better in the future. You have to keep protecting me by my side, okay?”

I helped Rael, who was prostrate on the floor, banging his forehead.

    “Yes…!”

Rael bent his knees and bowed his head.

“I vow to protect the Saintess with my life.”

    Chivalry is really appealing.

“Then, would you please leave now? I want to rest a bit.”

I was planning to send Rael away and go outside.

My heart was pounding with the thought of practicing new swordsmanship.

A technique that uses Divinity like Sword Aura.

It’s not useful against all enemies, but it’s deadly against Magical Beast and Demons.

“I’m sorry, but that’s not possible.”

    Rael said firmly.

“You have to attend the service in 10 minutes, and you have a treatment appointment at the temple in the afternoon.”

“Huh? I didn’t hear about that?”

“Now that you’re an academy student, you have to follow the department schedule.”

I had completely forgotten that I was a student.

Hearing those words made me realize that I had entered the academy.

Still, as the Saintess, I didn’t have to take Divinity Studies classes like other students.

It was enough to attend the service and do volunteer work at the temple.

    “…Okay.”

    Too bad.

I was excited about practicing swordsmanship.

    I left the room.

I walked down the long corridor.

It was the corridor connecting the dormitory and the chapel.

    “Hmm?”

    I turned around.

    “Is something wrong?”

I felt a gaze for a brief moment.

    Was it just my imagination?

    Or was someone really watching?

    “No. Nothing.”

This body attracts attention wherever it goes.

    Because it’s pretty and lovely.

So, it’s not strange if someone was watching.

    It’s really troublesome.

Is this the plight of a beautiful girl?

I headed back to the chapel.

    3.

    “Oh my gosh…”

    Yuriel stroked her chest.

She thought she was going to get caught when the Saintess turned around.

    Peek.

Hiding behind a pillar, Yuriel carefully peeked out.

The Saintess was walking down the corridor.

Her plump butt wiggled with each step.

“…How do I talk to her?”

She didn’t know how to talk to someone first.

In the first place, it was the first time Yuriel had ever wanted to approach someone first.

Yuriel had fallen for the Saintess.

To be exact, she had fallen for her swordsmanship skills.

How could she become so strong?

    She was curious.

All swordsmen yearn to become stronger.

Wouldn’t she be able to find a clue if she followed her like this?

Yuriel followed the Saintess all day.

Because she was too embarrassed to ask directly.

She hid far away and secretly followed her.

    The Saintess’s day was ordinary.

She attended the service at the chapel and treated patients at the temple.

When she was alone, she showed a slightly disheveled side.

Resting her chest on the desk to catch her breath.

Or standing in front of the mirror, rubbing her cheeks and grinning.

Other than those moments, there was nothing particularly special about her.

    It was evening.

The Saintess, who had finished the evening service, returned to the dormitory.

Wasn’t she going to do any swordsmanship training?

In the end, she didn’t find out any secrets to her strength.

    Yuriel pouted.

It was a shame, but it was late, so Yuriel had to return to the dormitory as well.

Just as she was about to turn around and return to the dormitory.

    -Creak

The window of the room the Saintess was using opened.

And a moment later, someone jumped out of the window.

She spun twice in the air and landed lightly on the ground.

    Yuriel hid in the bushes.

Long hair tied up in a bun.

Moonlight reflected on her slender neck.

The girl in her pajamas hummed and headed into the forest.

    It was the Saintess.

Her heart started pounding and she became excited.

    Yuriel followed the Saintess.

She quietly suppressed her presence so as not to be detected.

The Saintess arrived at an empty space in the forest.

    “Ugh…”

The Saintess stretched her arms up.

    “Hoo… Shall we try it?”

The Saintess took out a Wooden sword from the bushes.

Yuriel crouched down and quietly watched the Saintess.

The Saintess began to swing the Wooden sword.

It made a refreshing sound like rustling leaves, cutting through the calm night air.

    “…Wow…”

    Yuriel’s mouth was half open.

It was a truly beautiful sight.

The empty space was the stage, and the moonlight was the spotlight, as the Saintess swayed and danced with the sword.

    It wasn’t anything great.

It was just a light warm-up.

But she couldn’t take her eyes off her movements as if she was mesmerized.

    …What should I say?

    Yuriel hesitated in the bushes.

She mustered up the courage to go out, but she crouched down again because she thought she might say something wrong.

    “Hoo…”

The Saintess wiped the sweat that had formed on her forehead.

She had a refreshed look on her face, as if she had just taken a bath.

“…How long are you going to hide?”

    Yuriel gasped.

    Had she been caught?

    She squeezed her eyes shut.

It’s not like her body would be hidden just by closing her eyes.

    “Don’t hide and come out.”

The Saintess said in a calm voice.

    Should I go out…?

Yes, maybe this was an opportunity.

If she spoke to her first, she thought she might be able to say something somehow.

Yuriel mustered up the courage to go out of the bushes.

    But.

    “…I’m sorry.”

A man came out of the bushes on the opposite side.

“I didn’t mean to hide and watch on purpose…”

    Shaggy black hair.

Blue eyes visible between the messy bangs.

    Yohan Lykerd, the Hero’s disciple.

The man Yuriel had faced in the second exam. And a few days ago, she had helped him when he was struggling against the Summoned beast.

    Why were you there…?

Yuriel hid in the bushes again.

Yohan scratched the back of his neck and stood in front of the Saintess.

“I came out to practice swordsmanship… and when I saw the Saintess, I couldn’t help but hide.”

    Yohan smiled awkwardly.

    That was exactly what happened.

He had come out to do swordsmanship training after dinner and saw the Saintess dancing with the sword in the forest.

The sight was so beautiful that he held his breath and watched.

    The Saintess chuckled.

“Why are you hiding? Did you commit some kind of crime?”

“Ah, no! It’s not like that!”

    Yohan waved his arms.

    “You’re Yohan, right?”

    “Ah…! Yes!”

    Yohan nodded.

“How do you know my name?”

“Louis… No, I heard it from the Hero.”

    “From my master?”

“Yes. He said you did a great job this time? Saving the students and defeating the Summoned beasts.”

Even though she seemed like she didn’t care, the Saintess was quite concerned about Yohan because she had been asked by the Hero.

She hadn’t directly helped him yet, though.

She was receiving news through Rael.

She had heard from Rael about what kind of role Yohan had played in this attack.

“That’s amazing. They wouldn’t have been easy opponents to defeat.”

“Ah… I didn’t defeat them alone. I was able to defeat them somehow with the help of others. And it wasn’t that great of a feat.”

“You’re being humble. It’s not easy to sacrifice yourself to help others. Yohan Hyung has done that difficult thing. So, please be proud.”

The Saintess gave Yohan a refreshing smile.

Her rabbit-like eyes curved softly, creating a gentle eye smile.

    “…Yes!”

    Yohan smiled back.

“By the way, were you practicing swordsmanship just now?”

    Yohan asked cautiously.

    “Shh.”

The Saintess brought her finger close to her lips.

    “Yes… I’ll keep it a secret.”

“If you keep it a secret, I’ll teach you something good.”

    “Something good?”

    “Yes.”

The two of them had a pleasant conversation.

    Yuriel watched the scene.

    Ugh…!

Yuriel’s golden eyes glared at Yohan menacingly.

It wasn’t really Yohan’s fault, but.

She had missed the opportunity to talk to the Saintess because of that man.

    “…Yohan Lykerd!”

    Yuriel pouted and grumbled.

    3.

I can take this opportunity to teach this friend swordsmanship.

    Louis.

I don’t know how he taught his disciple, but there were more than a few things that needed to be corrected.

    By the way…

    I glanced to the side.

Bushes where I could feel someone’s presence.

Yuriel Van Skolhart was hiding in there.

She had been following me since this morning, and she was still following me in the evening.

    Why wasn’t she coming out?

She was hiding in the bushes, thinking she hadn’t been caught even though she had already been caught.

    Heh.
