Chapter Index

    “…”

    The film set was silent.

Rather than everyone being at a loss for words, it was closer to an atmosphere where, whatever words they had, they couldn’t possibly utter them. Time seemed to stand still.

Winter had mistaken the season and arrived early.

That was the kind of atmosphere the woman with the frosty expression was creating. A fusion historical drama; at first glance, her attire was similar to a martial arts novel, making her seem like a ghost or a sword demon.

Could it be that a cold icicle had transformed into a human? It was gloomy and chilly, but somehow it suited her. As if that too was just another way of digesting beauty.

The extras standing close by whispered to each other.

“Did a real ghost come out of the forest?” “…Is this supposed to be a horror genre?”

    Sharp. Keen and sharp. Scary.

After a long while, Sua spat out a short sentence.

    “Do your best today.”

The extras’ faces turned pale. In their ears, it sounded like a warning: “Today, you absolutely *must* do well.”

    Lee Sua.

A face that was coldly frozen and brimming with resentment. If this filming went wrong, she seemed like she would turn into a vengeful spirit. Like a ghost that would haunt them for the rest of their lives.

The terrified extras quickly bowed their heads.

“Ye, we will work hard!” “Of course, we will work hard!” “We will do our best!”

Sua, just by her appearance, was forcing passion upon the extras who had been planning to slack off during filming. Park Joon, belatedly surveying the surroundings, couldn’t help but tilt his head.

“…It’s different from this morning? The atmosphere has gotten better?”

    Sua simply nodded silently.

“Everyone must be kind people. They are full of passion.”

“No, it wasn’t like this at all earlier…?” “It must be because the actual filming time is getting closer.”

Sua brushed it off as if it were nothing.

    This confident and composed attitude!

It was thanks to Sua realizing something about herself. Through the experience of the previous mock filming, she had gained a little objectivity in how her actions were perceived by those around her.

With my mind empty, I probably look quite threatening to those around me. Yes, I am the fierce beast Lee Sua. You cute rabbits, be terrified and worship, praise, and applaud…

And thus, the crowning touch: 4th form.

Lee Sua pretending to be angry.

In unfamiliar situations, Sua had also realized that having an angry demeanor would never lead to a disadvantage.

Moreover, of all the forms, the 4th form is the easiest to use. All she has to do is imagine someone carelessly touching her rabbit doll.

‘I can’t believe I’m starting to develop affection for my face.’

She was just happy not to be ignored.

Sua was slowly starting to develop affection for her sharp face, and the extras moved with renewed vigor.

Almost like new recruits who had just entered training camp.

Meanwhile, Park Joon, the director of the short film ‘Sword’.

‘The atmosphere was really hopeless this morning. This must be…’

Who was the protagonist who immediately changed the atmosphere? His thoughts didn’t last long. The answer was too clear.

‘It’s Sua-ssi’s influence. To be honest, I was worried about how to revive the sagging atmosphere, but Sua-ssi solved it right away.’

Why would Park Joon make an exaggerated entrance?

Even though the situation was poor, he wanted the supporting actors to cheer up even a little. He also had the expectation that if the director was full of energy, it would be transmitted a little.

It was all a failure. But Sua was different.

She accomplished it just by appearing.

An extraordinary affection for ‘Sword,’ a confidence in herself… Sua’s face was full of it. She even encouraged those around her, so Park Joon wanted to bow to her in gratitude.

That was just the meaning in Park Joon’s thoughts.

‘…Good. I, the director, must work harder too!’

He also became much more energetic and directed the staff.

“Please check the lines of movement carefully! The actors mustn’t get hurt in the forest!”

“Yes! We have made sure of it!” “Makeup team! Put a lot of effort into making it feel natural!”

“Actors, let’s check your costumes here!”

The lines of movement for the actors in the forest were carefully prepared, and the filming equipment was also densely arranged.

Compared to other short films, it might be poor, but it had all the necessary things. Looking back, this was also thanks to the financial support from Mystic Entertainment that Sua had secured.

Park Joon’s will boiled over madly, and he shouted.

“We will start the main filming in 1 hour! The weather is also excellent today! Let’s wrap it up quickly and return to the hotel!”

    That was when.

    Thump─ Thump─

Someone wearing a *dobok* came out of the makeshift barracks set up by the makeup team, and the extra who had inadvertently glanced at them froze. It was a reaction that only came from being quite surprised.

    “Uh, uh? Uh uh?”

Before he could even think, a name popped out of his mouth.

    “Seo, Seo Yeon-ju? Isn’t that Seo Yeon-ju-ssi?”

Seo Yeon-ju, whose image with a headband on her neat hair had become an icon. Of course, today’s hairstyle was different.

There were plenty of accessories suitable for a fusion historical drama, but there was no one who couldn’t guess her identity. Her face itself was a business card. It was a face that evoked admiration.

Other supporting actors also gathered in an instant.

“Crazy, crazy, crazy!” “It’s Seo Yeon-ju…. Seo Yeon-ju….” “Seo, it’s not just Seo Yeon-ju? That that!”

Then, Kim Seon-il appeared, dressed in costume.

Everyone froze with their mouths wide open, and Director Park Joon opened his mouth, more pleased than anyone else with those reactions.

“There have been a lot of critical articles and the situation is not good in many ways, but these two actors readily decided to participate. Thank you all!”

Then the two also greeted lightly. Kim Seon-il just nodded lightly, Seo Yeon-ju smiled brightly and waved her hand.

For the supporting actors, it was a shock to the back of their heads.

Not only Seo Yeon-ju, but even Kim Seon-il came? Then isn’t this short film worth doing? I shouldn’t just do it half-heartedly?

In many ways, their will was bound to burn.

In the meantime, there was someone who was busy with their cell phone.

    [CT Entertainment CEO]

    ▶ Kim Seon-il and Seo Yeon-ju participated. ▶ 7 points each.

It was Son Ji-ah, a spy from CT Entertainment. She was still meticulously reporting every aspect of the filming set. For reference, 7 points in Son Ji-ah’s standards is a very high score.

Seo Yeon-ju quietly gazed at Lee Sua.

‘She looks unusually determined today. Is it a sense of responsibility? She’s not only in charge of the lead role, but she’s also secured the production costs on her own. That will to complete it no matter what…’

Kim Seon-il felt a similar sentiment to Seo Yeon-ju.

‘Lee Sua. You really are the real deal.’

Eventually, Seo Yeon-ju tapped the back of her head with the back of her hand and said.

“Well, I only participated because of Sua-ssi.”

It was a test of sorts, but Sua’s reaction was simple.

    “I acknowledge it.”

    2nd form: Sua acknowledgment.

That was really the end of it. That was all.

Of course, it was shocking news for the supporting actors, who had no idea what Sua was thinking. The fact that Seo Yeon-ju had set foot in this harsh place because of some rookie was shocking in itself, but what was the rookie’s reaction?

…What the heck? Why is she reacting as if it’s nothing?

‘There’s not even a thank you? Really? Really?’

‘Does Seo Yeon-ju think it’s natural for her to participate because of her?’

‘Is she really a rookie with no experience? What kind of confidence is that?’

Everyone’s confusion was wildly intertwined in the air.

    “Sua-ssi.”

    Seo Yeon-ju said again.

“Do you remember what I told you before? That you have to be prepared if you don’t want to be eaten by me. How is it? Did you prepare well?”

Sua thought. How can I beat you?

Your face is pretty, your personality is good, and you are good at acting. No matter how you think about it, the only thing Sua was more confident about than Seo Yeon-ju was her butt.

But she can’t be scary and curt to Seo Yeon-ju. She needs to make a good impression on her to some extent.

As a result, she retorted with 0th form: Sua humility.

“Well, I don’t have any confidence at all.”

With that short answer, she gave a small laugh.

    “….”

    A moment of silence.

Soon, Seo Yeon-ju, who was pursing her lips, laughed.

“…You have no confidence in losing? Interesting.”

Lightning struck over the extras’ heads.

‘She has no confidence in losing? Against Seo Yeon-ju?’

‘What’s with that tone? Is she going to cut off Seo Yeon-ju’s head today or something?’

‘Does she have five livers and five hearts…?’

    To them.

Lee Sua no longer looked like a rookie.

    ◈◈◈◈◈

    Meanwhile, at CT Entertainment.

In the CEO’s office, where antique furniture was arranged in a classical style, the CEO was seated with the employees lined up in a row.

Of course, Yang Ha-rin was there too. She was deeply immersed, leaning against the sofa in one corner. The sofa was so fluffy that it looked like it was hugging Yang Ha-rin from behind.

“Ha-rin’s work, this is confirmed, right?”
