Ch. 47 Raid Start

    Chapter 47 – Raid Start

    R&e;aⅾ ón KațЯe‍αd‌iǹg&C;afë

One week has passed since the last season of Legacy of Raid was updated.

During that week, I leveled my [Assassin] to Max Level.

I didn’t really study the [Assassin] while leveling up; I just ran dungeons repeatedly to reach Max Level, so I don’t know much about the class. I just used skills quickly and ran dungeons.

I plan to properly study the [Assassin] class after completing this final Raid with [Sword Master] and getting all the gear.

The announcement for the season’s final Raid has already been made, with the Raid set to be released next Thursday.

Now, it was time to start finalizing the GuildRaid Group that would be tackling the Raid.

This Raid was designed for a 12-person team.

Initially, 10 people from our Guild were going to participate. Unfortunately, two members had to drop out due to real-life work commitments, making them unable to commit to the try.

So, my friend, Mister Kang Hangil, and Mozza Whoppernim, a member of his Guild who I previously did dungeons with, decided to fill the remaining two slots.

This Raid requires a total of three 4-person parties.

That’s 3 Tanks, 6 Dealers, and 3 Healers. When planning a Raid, it’s usually important to determine the party composition based on 4-person units. Once you exceed two parties, it becomes a GuildRaid Group.

In the past, LEORE had 16-person, 20-person, and even 24-person Raids, but now 12-person and 16-person Raids are the standard.

The Main Tank for this GuildRaid Group is, of course, Soonchu Unnie. The Main Healer is Pink Berry Unnie, and the Main Dealer is Mister Kang Hangil.

And naturally, I became the Guild Leader.

Of course, it’s my Guild and the people I gathered, but honestly, the role of the Guild Leader is very demanding, difficult, and important during a Raid Try.

But it’s still absurd that they’re entrusting that Guild Leader position to a 15-year-old like me without any hesitation, and I also think everyone is crazy.

First of all, our GuildRaid Group doesn’t have a very synergistic composition, to be honest. There are few classes with a lot of party synergy, and there are a lot of Pure Dealers.

Out of the 6 Dealers, 3 are Pure Dealers, which is a fantastic combination… in the worst way. Usually, a GuildRaid Group uses a maximum of 2 Pure Dealers, and the standard composition uses 1.

    But 3?

On top of that, Mister Kang Hangil and I are both going as [Sword Master], so our classes even overlap.

Usually, there are only two outcomes in this situation.

Either the Pure Dealers are all insanely good and the Damage Per Second is plentiful, or if even one person underperforms, the Damage Per Second will be lacking.

But there’s no need to worry about this GuildRaid Group.

The current Pure Dealers are [Grim Reaper] Belly Cover, [Magician] Mozza Whopper, and [Berserker] Shin Changseop Normalization.

Everyone is a Dealer who has at least reached Blue Tag in the Leore Log, so there’s no need to worry about Damage Per Second.

The problem will be if a specific class is needed during the Raid. If that’s the case, we’ll just have to make do without it.

    Thursday, August 8th, 16:00.

As soon as the Leore Raid update went live, we all gathered at the Raid entrance.

Naturally, many other GuildRaid Groups eager to tackle the Raid came into view.

Among them, the famous Attack Parties naturally caught my eye.

LEORE currently has the largest user base among virtual reality RPG games.

And it’s not just in Korea; it has a large user base worldwide.

The servers aren’t connected, but all patches and updates are released simultaneously across all servers, based on Korean time.

The titles awarded from 1st to 10th place aren’t server-specific; a total of 10 are awarded across all servers worldwide, so all Attack Parties from every country compete for them.

That’s why so many people watch to see which Attack Party will achieve the First Clear and claim the title.

The viewership is higher than expected, so Attack Parties often stream their attempts and receive sponsorships or advertisements.

Of course, our Attack Party doesn’t have any of that!

Since it’s the first Attack Party created for this Raid, there’s no way that would happen.

I’m not even thinking about the WFK, World First Kill, for this Raid.

WFK isn’t something you can just achieve because you want to.

My goal right now is to get into the Top 10. Usually, the Attack Parties that aim for WFK are people who dedicate their entire lives to the game.

They spend all 16 hours they can use the Endoflife terminal on trying the Raid, and spend the rest of the time eating and sleeping, before trying again for another 16 hours, repeating that cycle until they clear it.

In the first place, the time to prepare for this Raid has been very short, and it’s the first time going to the Raid with these GuildRaid Group members, and we haven’t even coordinated properly.

Of course, it’s not that I don’t want the WFK. But not right now.

Currently, most WFKs come from Europe.

Because of that, Korean users often feel disappointed that WFK doesn’t originate from Korea, even though it’s a Korean game.

WFK in Korea was only achieved once when Leore was first released, when there weren’t many overseas users yet.

After Leore became famous and attracted players from all over the world, they haven’t been able to reclaim it.

Many Korean Attack Parties have tried to aim for WFK, but it hasn’t been easy.

First of all, real-life work is the biggest obstacle.

Can you make a living just playing Leore? No matter how much the game develops and becomes famous, Korea’s attitude towards gaming hasn’t changed much.

They still don’t have a very good perception of games.

European Leore Attack Parties have grown to the point where they can be considered professional game teams.

They receive money from sponsors and play the game as professional gamers. But Korean Attack Parties don’t have sponsors.

Currently, there are quite a few virtual reality games with professional gamers.

If I were to mention the most famous games, first, there’s the RTS genre Space War, the game from the era when the job of professional gamer was first created.

There’s also the AOS genre Chaos Ta, which is still the most popular.

    And the MMORPG Leore.

Space War and Chaos Ta have professional game teams with sponsors in Korea as well, but Leore doesn’t.

Many people say that the reason for that is the seasonal nature of the game.

Space War and Chaos Ta always have competitions and leagues.

That’s why people always enjoy watching the games of teams or professional gamers through broadcasts.

    But what about Leore?

People only watch during the period from when the Raid is released until the WFK is achieved, which is a short window of 2 weeks to a month.

On top of that, the moment the WFK is claimed by another Attack Party, people’s interest drops drastically. And once you clear it, there’s no reason to keep watching.

Raids are released every season, not regularly, and are only exposed to people for a short period of a month, so Korean sponsors haven’t been keen on investing in Leore.

Because of that, there are very few users who can clear their schedule for an extended period and dedicate themselves to Leore to achieve the WFK.

So, Attack Parties in Korea are more focused on enjoying and playing the Raid than aiming for WFK.

Of course, there are Korean Attack Parties that aim for WFK, but the reality is that they haven’t seen much success.

    Well, WFK isn’t important.

The important thing is to enjoy the game. Ah, but I am a little greedy for the title.

That’s why I’m aiming for the Top 10.

    “Is everyone ready?”

In front of the giant hole created by the yellow Cordyceps that were wriggling out of the Queen Ant’s neck, I put my hands on my hips in front of the members of the newly formed [Arang Arang] Attack Party and puffed out my chest.

    “”Yes!!!””

The Guild members smiled and nodded.

I opened the menu window and pressed the enter button at the Raid entrance, where other Attack Parties had already disappeared to clear it.

    ==

The update details said that there are a total of 4 Bosses in this Raid.

Raids are basically reset once a week, so our Attack Party’s goal for this week is to clear 2 Bosses.

As soon as we entered the Raid, we noticed a time limit that wasn’t there before.

    16:00

    15:59

Looking at the time, we have 16 hours, so it doesn’t seem like a problem.

    “Why was this added?”

That was the reaction of the surrounding Guild members.

I think that was probably implemented because of me.

The first Boss immediately revealed itself.

As soon as we entered the Raid, without even a trash mob section, there was a giant tree in the center of the massive map.

If there wasn’t a Boss mark on top of the tree, it would just look like a tree, so I would have assumed it was just a normal tree.

    [Parasitic Hatchery]

    [■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■]

Looking at that, it’s obvious that the seemingly ordinary big tree is riddled with the Cordyceps that controlled the Queen Ant.

It’s been less than 30 minutes since the Raid was released.

Of course, there’s no information available yet, and I didn’t bother looking it up. Everyone is starting from the same point anyway.

“Everyone, check your buffs, doping, and food.”

I checked my class buffs, alchemy doping that increases stats, and buffs that can be obtained from food, and then pressed the prepare for attack button.

    Ding.

After confirming that everyone had pressed the confirm button, Soonchu set a 15-second countdown.

    Tick. Tick.

The time ticked down in front of everyone’s eyes.

When it reached 1 second and then START! appeared, everyone, led by Soonchu, rushed towards the Boss.
