Ch. 232 Yasuo Mirror Match

    Chapter 232: Yasuo Mirror Match

    Rеаđ ȯη КațṚҽаđіnǵĊаſε

And so, the match between Chae-yoon and Da-jeong began.

Since this match was happening toward the end of the second broadcast, it wouldn’t have been surprising if viewership dropped. Instead, the opposite happened—an unusual sight where the numbers only grew.

‘If I lose, I’ll be memed forever. I have to win no matter what.’

After checking the viewer count, Chae-yoon steeled her resolve and entered full tryhard mode.

Even if her beloved Lulu was her opponent, she couldn’t afford to lose this one.

After all, this was a Yasuo mirror match—her main champion.

Sure, viewers often mocked her, saying things like “What kind of Silver plays Yasuo?”

But Chae-yoon still had her pride as a Yasuo player.

At the very least, she believed her Yasuo skills were Platinum-level or higher.

    But if she lost here?

All her past 2,000 solo queue games would mean nothing.

And worse—the Black Moon Squad would never let her hear the end of it.

That was something she absolutely could not allow.

    – Minions have spawned.

The in-game announcer’s voice echoed, and the laning phase began under tense circumstances.

    – Ton!

    – Hasek!

The moment the minions clashed in the middle, their blades also clashed, sparks flying.

Both Yasuo players carefully measured their spacing, trading Q skills.

The early game was mostly a feeling-out process.

Then, once they hit Level 2 and unlocked their second skill, the real Yasuo battle began.

They had now learned E—the alpha and omega of Yasuo’s kit, the skill that made or broke Yasuo players.

E was a short dash that could be used on minions or champions.

With at least six minions per wave, skilled Yasuo players could weave in and out, dancing around their opponents while poking and retreating—the essence of Yasuo’s playstyle.

And Chae-yoon, being a Yasuo enthusiast… no, a Yasuo player, immediately dashed toward an enemy minion the moment she unlocked E.

Once Da-jeong’s Yasuo was in Q range, she immediately lunged with her blade—

    Whoosh—

    “…Huh?”

But as if Da-jeong had predicted it, she smoothly E-dashed to one of Chae-yoon’s minions, sidestepping the attack.

    – Hasek!

Then, while Chae-yoon’s Q was on cooldown, Da-jeong landed her own Q and a few autos before casually retreating.

The damage wasn’t huge, but it was an annoyingly efficient trade.

    • LOL
    • Lulu’s kinda good?
    • That trade was clean.
    • Leader…?

The Black Moon Squad, watching the exchange, expressed admiration—but also threw some skeptical hooks at Chae-yoon, their resident Yasuo authority.

    Unfazed, she just smirked.

“Our youngets’s got some skills. Guess I don’t have to go easy on her.”

    • ?
    • Huh?
    • Shouldn’t Lulu be the one going easy on you…? (Can I say that?)
    • Nah, Lulu should be the one holding back LOL

    “Shut up, you guys!”

The chat flooded with question marks, but Chae-yoon ignored the haters and refocused on the lane.

Before they knew it, both Yasuos had reached Level 4.

And at this point, Chae-yoon was starting to feel a little nervous.

It wasn’t that she was low HP or had lost trades—but Da-jeong was undeniably slightly ahead.

    And most importantly…

“Ugh, do I have to force a trade and look for a solo kill? Our youngest’s CS is way too good.”

    • True LOL
    • Wait, what’s her CS at?
    • She hasn’t missed a single one.
    • She’s dominating. Her trades are insane too.

Da-jeong’s CS (creep score) was noticeably high.

Part of it was because Chae-yoon, being lower-tier, wasn’t as good at last-hitting.

But also, since this was a 1v1, she had been too focused on trading, missing most of the minions.

If they both recalled now to buy items, Da-jeong would undeniably come back with better items, making the lane even harder.

“This isn’t working. I need to force an all-in at Level 6.”

    So, Chae-yoon changed her plan.

She would trade more aggressively, whittling down Da-jeong’s HP, then go for a solo kill at Level 6 using her ultimate.

She was confident—after all, she often got solo kills in solo queue with Yasuo.

Her game knowledge and macro might be lacking, but her mechanics weren’t bad.

    – Hasek!

    – Hasegi!

And so, she began trading more aggressively, no longer playing the spacing or mind games—just going all-in, trying to chip away at Da-jeong’s HP.

    Ching—

    “Level 6!”

    Finally, the moment arrived.

The sound of leveling up, her ultimate lighting up—and Da-jeong’s HP was already around 50%.

(Of course, Chae-yoon’s HP was even lower because of some sloppy trades.)

“At this rate, I can’t win a straight fight. I should bait her into diving me, then reverse it with tower aggro.”

    • Ohhh
    • The big-brain play from the leader LOL
    • But will Lulu actually dive?
    • Yeah, if she recalls, Da-jeong can just match it.

    So, Chae-yoon hatched a scheme.

She would intentionally give Da-jeong a kill angle, then dodge her key skill while landing her own, using tower shots to turn the tables.

    It was a solid plan—especially since Da-jeong was…

“I can dive her next wave. The lane’s stacked enough.”

At this very moment, Da-jeong’s eyes gleamed at the perfect dive angle.

In a way, Chae-yoon had read her mind.

At this point, Chae-yoon’s trap had a high chance of working.

“Da-jeong will go for the EQ combo—I just need to Flash sideways to dodge it.”

As a Yasuo player herself, Chae-yoon knew exactly when she was in kill range.

And she also knew exactly how Da-jeong would engage.

Yasuo’s Q, when stacked up to three times, gains a knock-up effect on the third cast.

And since Yasuo’s ultimate (R) can only be used on airborne targets, the obvious play was:

    1. Stack Q to three.
    2. Dash in with EQ for a guaranteed knock-up.
    3. Finish with R.

    So Chae-yoon’s plan was simple:

    • Flash sideways to dodge the first EQ.
    • Once Da-jeong draws tower aggro, counterattack and secure the kill.

    “Huu…”

Watching Da-jeong’s Yasuo confidently stride forward—despite being in tower range—Chae-yoon held her breath and widened her eyes.

A single misstep here meant death.

    That could not happen!

    – Hweup!

Da-jeong’s Yasuo dashed in with a sharp exhale, initiating with E.

Then, with her Q fully stacked, she swung her blade in a wide arc—

    “Now!”

At that moment, Chae-yoon Flashed downward, dodging the EQ.

Since E had already landed, Da-jeong now had tower aggro.

If Chae-yoon dashed to a minion and retaliated now, Da-jeong would either have to retreat or burn her own Flash.

At worst, it’d be an even trade. At best—a solo kill.

Just as a triumphant smirk began forming on Chae-yoon’s face—

    – Hasegi!

    “…What?”

She had definitely Flashed out of the EQ’s range.

Yet somehow, her Yasuo was lifted into the air by a knock-up.

    Because Da-jeong had predicted it.

She knew Chae-yoon would try to Flash-dodge and counter.

So she had prepared a Flash-EQ combo—using Flash mid-dash to adjust the knock-up’s hitbox and catch Chae-yoon anyway.

    – “Sorye ge ton!” (Yasuo ultimate activation line)

And with the knock-up confirmed, Da-jeong’s ultimate seamlessly followed.

Chae-yoon’s Yasuo was brutally shredded mid-air, collapsing into a lifeless heap.

Meanwhile, Da-jeong barely survived the last tower shot, walking away with a sliver of health.

    “……”

    A flawless, undeniable defeat.

Chae-yoon could only stare at her screen, dumbfounded.

Even the Black Moon Squad was too busy marveling at Da-jeong’s outplay to mock her yet.

    • LOLOLOLOLOL
    • BRO THAT PREDICTIVE EQ-FLASH WAS INSANE
    • EVEN LILITH DOESN’T DO IT THAT CLEAN
    • SHE EVEN SNUCK IN AN AUTO ATTACK MID-COMBO

Sure, EQ-Flash was basic for Yasuo mains.

But predicting the enemy’s Flash and landing it? That was next-level.

And doing it against Chae-yoon—a self-proclaimed Yasuo “Plat+ specialist”—made it even more impressive.

After the initial awe, the inevitable taunts flooded in:

    • GOT SOLO-KILLED BY A GOLD NOOB LMAOOOO
    • “I’m at least Plat-tier on Yasuo!”
    • Then how’d you lose the mirror match?
    • 2,000 solo queue games GONE TO WASTE

    “Ugh…!”

    The torment was relentless.

    Translator Note

I feel there is guaranteed to be something wrong in here… I tried my best to match stuff and had like, 4 different tabs open including the LoL main page on Yasuo, 2 League wikis and an article… but I probably still missed something.
