Ch. 165 Lulu is a part-time merch-selling girl!
by AfuhfuihgsChapter 165: Lulu is a part-time merch-selling girl!
To think I’d be the very first person in the world to introduce Blue LUV’s debut merch… Could there be a happier moment than this?!
Giddy with excitement, I lined up the acrylic stands on my desk and showed them off on camera. As expected, the quality was outstanding.
“Ahem! Just so you know, I bought all this merch with my own money! The CEO offered to give me sample versions, but that wasn’t enough for me, so I just bought everything outright!”
- LMAOOOOOOOOOO
- There’s really a VTuber who buys her own group’s merch? lol
- Suspiciously dedicated to being a fan, I swear—
- Earning money just to hand it back to her own company, lol
- She’s such a wild character, I can’t….
I puffed out my chest proudly as I made my declaration, and the cherries erupted into laughter, tossing out comments that may or may not have been compliments. Most of them seemed to treat me like some kind of rare specimen.
But what else could I do?! They turned out so cute! Besides, my real job is being a Star Piece! Skipping even a single piece of Blue LUV merch is a sin, you hear me?!
“First up, the acrylic stands—as you can see, the quality is really good, right? Our CEO said she paid extra attention to the finishing touches.”
- Ohh
- Not bad at all
- Most of the time, it’s just a printed sheet slapped on, but these are solid?
- The minimalistic style is so charming and pretty
Yeah, yeah, exactly! That’s the vibe. Of course, acrylic stands can vary in design, but for these Blue LUV ones, the concept is that each member is performing on a stage themed around their personal color.
The stands are detachable, so you can swap them around and display them on different stages.
“And guess what? There’s something really cool about these…”
There’s actually a little secret hidden in these stands. To demonstrate, I took out Yukiko and Lucretia’s figures and swapped their backgrounds.
“Hehe, if you do it like this, it looks like they’re guest-starring on each other’s stages! CEO Kang said she specifically designed them this way because she wanted to try something fun.”
- Ohh
- That’s genius, lol
- Yukiko’s background has that dark blue, so it kinda works?
- Lucretia’s stage was a bit moody, but she looks surprisingly good in a brighter setting too
Right, right?! It’s way prettier than you’d expect! Of course, they look best on their own stages, but as a fan, doesn’t this make you imagine all sorts of things?
Like Yukiko’s adorable, pastel stage with Lucretia—who’s the total opposite—guest-performing on it. Or what if Lilith and Erin swapped parts for that duet cover they released before?
The point is, we want to see them in new ways! And these acrylic stands have a little bit of that magic baked in. That’s why they’re one of my personal favorites.
Praise them!
“They all turned out so pretty, but personally, I think Yukiko looks extra adorable. Maybe because she’s the only one winking? Isn’t she just the cutest?”
- Fr, lol
- Of course the self-proclaimed cute specialist would say that
- It suits her
- The way her mascot is perched on her shoulder is so cute too, lol
Right? That part’s adorable too. It’s like they’re saying, “Look at me too…” with those eyes. Anyway, if I had to pick a personal favorite among the stands, it’d probably be Yukiko’s.
She turned out so good.
“Oh, and this is supposed to be a secret, but… the CEO said casual outfit versions of the acrylic stands are coming soon. I’m only telling you Star Pieces watching today, okay? Got it?”
- WHAAAT!?
- Hold up!?!
- CASUAL OUTFITS?!
- Screw it! I’m buying them all!!!
- I’m emptying my wallet right now!!
As the acrylic stand showcase was winding down, I dropped a little teaser that I knew the Star Pieces would love. Of course, it wasn’t actually a secret I was leaking—I’d gotten permission from the CEO first.
Next up: the keychains!
“Now for the keychains—and personally, I think these are super cute too. They’re all the members happily eating their favorite snacks!”
- Omg they’re so cute lol
- Meanwhile, look at Erin’s chipmunk cheeks, lol
- Wait, where’s Lulu’s acrylic stand?
- Of course the bread lover is Erin
- Where’d our Goddess’s dignity go?
Oho, so the cherries feel the same way I do! The moment I saw these, I thought Erin looked incredibly cute. It’s not her usual elegant, mature goddess vibe—she just looks like a girl who loves bread more than anything in the world.
“Honestly, when I first saw this, I thought Erin unnie looked way too adorable. It’s so different from her usual character, right? She looks like she’s lost all reason and is just munching on bread.”
- Fr, lol…
- Her eyes look kinda crazy, lol
- Erin: “I don’t want to move out, but I need to if I want to eat bread every day.”
- The fiery filial piety is sending me lolol
Yeah, she did say that iconic line. At first, I had no idea what she meant. She wanted to move out just because her mom kept scolding her for eating bread? How obsessed is she?
“The keychains themselves are a bit smaller than you might expect. My hands are on the small side, and they’re just a little smaller than that.”
- Pretty tiny
- Too big would be awkward anyway
- Seems like a good size?
- If I strap all of these to my bag and walk around campus, will I finally be that cool? LOL
Uh, probably not that cool. But they are cute. At the very least, I’d be happy to see someone wearing them.
Regular people might not get it, though…
“Heh, well, that’s it for the keychains. Let’s move on.”
- ?
- ?????
- Where’s Lulu’s keychain?
- Lulu didn’t show her own keychain
- She didn’t show her acrylic stand earlier either…
And with that, I wrapped up the keychain showcase and moved on. I might have seen some question marks popping up, but… surely that was just my imagination?
“Next up are the scroll posters—and personally, these are my favorite out of all the merch! The moment I got them, I hung them up side by side in my workspace. Aren’t they just gorgeous?”
- Ohh
- The illustration quality is insane
- They really popped off with these fr
I unfurled one of the scroll posters, showcasing its impressive quality, starting with Lilith’s. I shrugged playfully as I held it up—
[‘BurningRocketChicken’ donated 1,100 KRW!]
- Lulu, everything’s great, but… could you maybe show your own merch too…?
I froze for a second at the sudden donation. It took me a moment to even process the words “your own merch.”
Oh. Right. That was a thing.
…I kinda forgot.
But what do I do now…?
“S-Sorry, cherries. I, uh… didn’t buy my own merch separately, so… I don’t think I can show it today.”
- Huh?
- ?????????????
- Bruh you skipped the most important part…
- This is Lulu’s stream but there’s no Lulu merch? What kind of nonsense is this
- This is straight-up betrayal…
My unexpected remark seemed to spark an uproar. The cherries voiced their complaints, their dissatisfaction growing louder. I get how they feel, but…
I-I mean, what else was I supposed to do? Why would I spend money on my own merch? If I’m gonna waste cash, I’d rather buy an extra Frappuccino. It’d be more efficient to buy two sets of Blue LUV merch—one for display and one for storage!
N-Not that I don’t have my own merch or anything…
The CEO did give me my share as samples. But it’s just… embarrassing to showcase my own stuff on stream like it’s something special!
So today, I figured I’d play dumb and just focus on the others’ merch. Sorry, cherries. Everyone who pre-ordered will get theirs soon enough anyway.
It’s not like they’ll miss out.
Besides, it’s not like many people would buy my merch, right? When the others’ goods are this pretty, who’d pay money for mine?
N-Not that I’m putting myself down or anything! Think about it logically. If there are five items at the same price, wouldn’t you pick the one that looks best to you?
In that sense, if my merch were lined up next to the others’, I definitely wouldn’t buy it. Yep. This is just an objective, rational conclusion.
I kept rationalizing like this, trying to calm the cherries down as I prepared to move on—
[Haneulbom] – Lulu.
“Huh?! C-CEO…?!”
My entire body locked up, scroll still in hand, as our CEO suddenly appeared in chat.
W-Why is she here now?!
[Haneulbom] – I gave you all your merch samples days ago.
[Haneulbom] – At least show those…
[Haneulbom] – If you say you threw them out, you’re dead.
“S-Samples?! I mean, I have them, but…”
- You have them?
- Don’t tell me you hid them on purpose…
- Hand them over NOW!!!!!!!!!!
- If you fear us at all, you’ll bring them out immediately.
Under CEO Kang’s scolding and the cherries’ threats, I panicked and dashed to the storage room, digging out a small box I’d stuffed in the corner.
The merch had to be here somewhere… Aha!
Luckily, the box was light. I carried it back to my workspace and plopped it onto the desk. Inside were the samples I’d received days ago, neatly packed away.
“W-Well, that was a little chaotic, everyone! Now, let’s take a moment to introduce… the merch of your beloved Lulu! Wow…”
- Wow!!!!!!!!
- Why does the host sound so lifeless?
- Her energy just flatlined lmaooo
- First time seeing Lulu force hype like this lol
- A VTuber who disses her own merch? Revolutionary.
- Please let this be a bit…
I picked up the items and resumed the stream like nothing had happened. The cherries were baffled but played along.
“The acrylic stand is… very pretty, right? Yep. Very… pretty.”
- Lolololol
- It’s like she’s reading off a textbook lolol
- This is a different dimension from her earlier commentary lolol
- Is this a different person from the one streaming earlier?
Unsurprisingly, my energy was nowhere near what it’d been for the others’ merch. The entire time, I fought through sheer embarrassment to keep going.
Sniff.
…I’m not doing this again.
What’s the point of enjoying the others’ merch showcases if my own just drains my soul?
[‘BoredFlounder’ donated 1,000 KRW]
- LMAO instant full set purchase, take my money lol
“Y-You’ll really buy my merch too? Hehe… thanks, cherries.”
At least their promise to buy it made me feel a little better.
Hehe. Say what you will, but the cherries really are the best.
