    Chapter 32 Part 7: Commission – Violence

“Why the long face? Smile, smile. We’re ditching class to go play, you should be smiling, right?”

    “Hic, heueuk….”

    “Smile.”

    “Aaaaaaack! I’ll smile! I’ll smile!”

“There are always guys who can’t understand unless you tell them directly, really.”

    Son of a b*tch.

I almost burst out laughing at their faces that looked like they wanted to say that.

    This is quite fun.

I felt like I knew why these guys tormented Eun-ji so much.

Should I call it a primal human instinct? There’s something there that subtly touches that part.

    “B-But… where are we going…?”

    “Speak properly.”

    “…Going?”

“Well. Where do you think we’re going? One thing is for sure, it’s not a space you’re thinking of….”

    “Heuaaaaaaack!”

    Tap tap tap!

Just as I was about to answer their question.

From a group of about four people, one screamed and suddenly started running.

    He’s running away.

[He, he’s running away! Ms. Ella! Don’t you have to catch him?!]

“…Haran, you worry too much. Do you think I didn’t expect this to happen?”

    [Huh?]

“I was wondering when he would run away, but he was slower than I thought. Was he that scared?”

To be honest, I thought they would all scatter as soon as they left the academy.

But there’s only one, let alone all of them.

It seemed that the fear had taken root more deeply in them than I thought.

I was going to catch them one by one myself and instill the realization that they couldn’t escape…

    Well, this isn’t bad either.

If they see what happens to the person who runs away, they might lose the will to run.

I slowly took out the grappling hook, as if showing off to the guys who were watching me.

    “W-What is that?!”

    “From his body…!”

“Shall we do some hunting for the first time in a while?”

To subdue someone without killing them, a gun is very effective, assuming you can shoot well.

If you shoot a spot that is terribly painful when hit, but doesn’t kill unless you screw up, but not a dangerous spot like the chest or head, it can be easily suppressed.

But why did I bother taking out the grappling hook instead of taking out the gun?

    Simple.

Because this feels scarier than a gun.

    Whoosh, whoosh.

I spun the grappling hook above my head like a cowboy in the frontier era, and then, at the right timing, let go of it and threw it at the guy who had fled.

Then, the grappling hook, which was rushing in like a harpoon, instantly opened its front part in the air and began to rush in to find a support to support itself.

    What’s a support?

    That guy’s leg.

    “Kkeuaaaaaaaaack!”

    “Bingo.”

    “Hiiiik..”

The grappling hook, which had instantly dug into his right leg, quickly tore through the guy’s right leg, and the distance began to be stained with blood.

He couldn’t run away because he was scared, but did he still want that guy to escape and report it to the police?

Despair and fear were revealed on the faces of the guys who were looking at the runaway with anticipation.

“You guys shouldn’t even think about running away. If you run away, you’ll end up like that.”

[Ms. Ella…. I don’t think there’s anyone brave enough to run away after seeing that….]

    “Why? They could run away.”

[Those guys are perpetrators of school violence. Would guys who do that kind of thing have that kind of courage?]

I nodded without realizing it at Haran’s words.

    That makes sense.

They were reluctant to run away even before showing them this, but if they saw this scene, wouldn’t they be afraid to even resist, let alone run away?

Thinking that, I looked at the guys and smiled brightly as I saw them trying their best to avoid my eyes.

After all, choosing the grappling hook was a good decision.

Even if they’re shot with a gun, or their leg is pierced by a grappling hook, they’re subdued in the same way…

But people are more sensitive to what they see.

    “Kyaaaaaaaaack!”

“Wow, she’s completely crazy. You, are you sane?! In broad daylight…!”

This is a street in broad daylight where people walk around.

Of course, doing this kind of thing is bound to be noticed.

When someone screamed as their leg was pierced, the citizens also panicked and started running away.

If this continues, the police will surely start an investigation.

But, I didn’t bother touching them.

Giving a warning isn’t just for these guys.

I had to let the authorities know that I exist.

“Of course I’m sane. I’ve always been sane.”

A grappling hook suddenly popped out of a person’s arm and pierced the leg of someone who was running away. Even in broad daylight.

The victim is an awakened person attending the academy.

If they hear about this incident, how will the police think?

I can’t accurately penetrate their thoughts. But one thing is for sure, there will be one person who comes to their mind.

A daring criminal who, similar to this case, gifted lead bullets to a person’s head in broad daylight.

Female. Similar appearance. And even a weapon that popped out of her body.

The circumstantial evidence that she is the same person is more than enough.

I exclude the possibility that they do not consider me to be the same person.

I don’t know how competent or incompetent the police in this world are, but the children of high-ranking people are involved in the incident.

The police will also focus on the incident with all their might.

“This is, showing your parents. That you guys are doing well here like this.”

    “Keueuk, kkeuaaaaack…!”

“How about it, do you have some hope now? Do you think the police will be here soon, and your parents will be able to save you?”

Even if their thoughts are paralyzed by fear right now, they will soon think.

    That I was hasty.

That the police are not incompetent, and that they can save us.

“Think whatever you want, and have whatever hope you want. Because that’s what I, no. What the client wants.”

    Eun-ji always had hope.

The police might help. The teacher might help. Classmates might help.

She wanted someone’s help, she wanted people’s kindness, and she wanted the hellish life to end.

    But it didn’t end.

The authorities were on their side, the teacher turned a blind eye, and the classmates ignored her for fear of suffering the same fate.

Eun-ji’s wishes were ignored like that.

So, I had to give them hope too.

In order to break hope, you must first have hope.

“What the hell are the police doing!”

“I’m sorry. The evidence is still insufficient, so….”

“What do you mean the evidence is insufficient! My son was in that state in broad daylight, and you’re telling me you can’t find him?!”

A daring crime committed in broad daylight in front of everyone.

Naturally, the incident spread throughout the country through reporters who were crazy about scoops, and it didn’t take long for the news to reach the families of the victims.

    At first, they weren’t worried.

They ordered the police to devote all their efforts to tracking them down, and the police soon revealed that the criminal was the daring killer who had recently caused a stir by killing the son of the Hresvelgr Guild leader.

That’s why they thought it would be okay.

It was hard to keep their eyes open to see their son’s legs turning so terrible, but it wasn’t impossible to heal them.

If they used the power of a healing ability user, which is worth whatever you pay, they could heal the leg that was maintaining its shape.

Police and powerful guilds both. Even the detectives additionally hired by the families of the victims.

No matter how talented someone is, they will be caught quickly if they do something so boldly. No, stupidly.

The moment they are caught, I will make them suffer several times the pain. I will make them pay the price.

Their confidence was shattered in just one week.

“What the hell, you’re not doing anything right!”

    “…I’m sorry.”

Instead of saying that, show me the results! Results! Those videos are being openly spread on the internet, and all you can do is say you’re sorry?!”

They watched the videos uploaded to the video site every day for a week and got angry.

The crazy woman uploaded the videos. The victims’ faces were in the video.

The person who called the police and got angry closed his eyes tightly at the replaying video.

“Mom, save me, please save me….”

“Uh-huh. I told you, your mom isn’t here? Now, submerge.”

    “Breathe.”

    Reureureureureuk!”

“Keheuk, keheuk! Cough, cough! S-Save me! Save meeeeeee!”

“You should catch your breath, why are you screaming so loudly.”

    “Keureureureuk!”

    Everyone was alive.

The victims who were kidnapped in broad daylight were trapped in an unknown space, but they were all alive.

Should they be happy about that fact, or should they be sad that they are suffering damage close to torture?

    They didn’t know.

    “What should we do?”

“What do you mean what should we do? Censor it right away.”

    “…Yes.”

Every day, two videos are uploaded to the video site.

One is everyone being tortured in turn.

Having their heads slammed into the toilet, or being waterboarded like now…

They were being subjected to terrible acts that they wouldn’t think of doing to a person.

But, the problem isn’t just that video.

The next video. That was the bigger problem.

“What are you talking about, what? Our son deserved to be beaten? That can’t be, that can’t be…!”

The second video was of them confessing while crying, right after being tortured.

They couldn’t say the name, but it was about how they confessed while crying that they had done the same thing to a child.

Most people didn’t believe it, but even so, a few people believed the story firmly.

They deserved it. Good for them.

Their parents, who saw those stories, were furious and scolded the police.

“Catch those b*stards right now! Catch them!”

“I’m sorry, but that’s difficult. The internet is anonymous….”

“If I tell you to do it, you’ll do it, why are you talking so much! Do it right now!”

    “…I understand.”

    The police sighed secretly.

Anyway, they’re going to refuse to cooperate with the investigation, so they’re just making me do unnecessary things.

But the police soon moved as they wanted.

It was their duty to do as they were told.
