Chapter 17: Gacha is hell.
by AfuhfuihgsThanks to Seoha noona’s advice, I felt slightly more at ease as I welcomed the next morning.
[Avor announces the launch of the new internet broadcasting platform ‘Cheeze.’]
Just as Seoha noona mentioned yesterday, news about the new platform started pouring in. It was as if an embargo had been lifted.
According to the article below, their primary goal is to accommodate existing Twip viewers, aiming to create a system and UI that is as similar as possible, while also allowing subscriptions to carry over.
Everything is just as Seoha noona had told me.
“So, are you thinking of moving over there?”
“For now, yes. I still need to think it over a bit more, though…”
As I sat down with a modest breakfast that included soybean paste stew, I talked with noona while carefully reading through the article again, just in case I missed something.
“Wherever you go, you’ll do fine. Don’t overthink it.”
Noona stroked my head as if I were a child, comforting me with her words, which embarrassed me. I weakly swatted her hand away.
She still thinks I’m a kid.
“Don’t worry about me, noona. Just make sure you stay healthy abroad. You’re leaving the day after tomorrow, right?”
“Yeah, I’m meeting up with some friends today, and then I’ll rest up before I leave. Paris Fashion Week is next month.”
“Hmm…”
Paris Fashion Week.
I don’t know much about that world, but just hearing the name makes it sound impressive. Noona, on the other hand, wasn’t even the least bit nervous. In fact, she seemed excited, her eyes sparkling.
Well, she’ll do just fine, even without me saying anything. After all, Kang Yeonju isn’t just anyone.
“Well, good luck. I can’t be there, but I’ll be cheering for you from home.”
“What’s this? Since when did my little brother say such sweet things?”
“I do when I need to, okay? Stop treating me like some emotionless robot…”
I avoided noona’s hand as she tried to stroke my head again and instead placed a piece of freshly grilled mackerel on top of her rice.
Noona stared at it for a moment, then thanked me before taking a big bite, her face lighting up with happiness as she continued eating.
‘Cosmo has started streaming.’
‘Last Destiny ad broadcast’
After making sure noona had lunch and seeing her off, I turned on my stream at 6 PM, just like always.
It’s unfortunate that the house is going to burn down, but I got paid, so I still need to do my job. This is, after all, my very first advertisement stream.
【ProtectCosmo】 – Koha!
[BaekhwaYoran] – First ad, congrats
【SquidSashimi】 – Ceiling prayers
The familiar usernames of most of my viewers filled the chat right after I started the stream.
Since they knew it was an ad stream, I expected them to join later due to it being less interesting, but I was grateful to see many of my regular viewers show up early.
Except for the guy praying for ceiling-tier gacha results before we even started. I’m seriously tempted to ban him.
“Hey everyone, welcome. You all know what’s happening today, right? It’s my first ad stream, so let’s keep things fun and positive. No need for anyone to get hurt, right?”
I issued a preemptive warning, just in case any trolls showed up to disrupt the chat before the ad stream started.
[SoySauceWithSeafood] – Oh no
【NextDoorHani】 – Oh no
【ElephantCheer】 – LOL
[tws2425] – If you mess with the sponsor, it’s game over LOL
Though my comment was brief, everyone seemed to understand the message, so I didn’t need to explain further.
My viewers really do catch on quickly. It’s just that they occasionally do dumb things.
“Alright then, let’s get started with the ad stream. Today’s game is ‘Last Destiny,’ a mobile collectible RPG developed by SV Studio.”
I launched the game I had downloaded onto my PC earlier, and as the heavy and grand BGM played, the title screen of ‘Last Destiny’—commonly called ‘Latudi’—appeared.
The screen displayed the bold title ‘LAST DESTINY,’ with two female characters on either side in a confrontational stance, each boasting impressive visuals.
Wow, even though I saw this at AGP, the main screen still looks amazing.
【MoscowSays】 – Wow, looks super fun
【CroMagnonMan】 – Gotta try it out
【AlpacaHunter】 – Buy it now!
What the heck, guys? The game hasn’t even finished loading yet. And this isn’t some package game you can just buy!
I smirked at the ridiculous comments filling the chat and waited for the game to finish loading. When it finally did, I clicked to start playing.
-Commander! Get a grip!
The game kicked off with a familiar line, the kind you’d hear in countless other mobile RPGs.
My character blinked several times, and in the brief moment between, a massive something, barely contained by the uniform, jiggled dramatically.
