Chapter 6: i’m the first kiss in this life…?
by Afuhfuihgs“Yu-won oppa…?”
“Honey!”
Different terms of endearment, but both directed at me.
Estelle, three years younger than me, called me “oppa.”
Liera, who had gone from friend to “honey,” then to “darling,” and finally to “wife.”
These were the women I had married in other lives.
They ran towards me, then stopped, seeing Ha-yeon clinging to me.
“Who are you, and why are you hugging my oppa…?”
“What are you doing with my husband…?”
From their perspective, they had just arrived after crossing dimensions, only to see their husband making out with another woman.
Their reactions were understandable.
“Kim Yu-won, you sly dog… pretending to be so innocent while keeping three beauties on the side…? You were doing it all behind my back… Look at you, all grown up…”
Shin-woo smirked, nudging me with his elbow.
I wanted to strangle him.
He wouldn’t be so smug if he were in my shoes.
“Yu-won, what are those foreigners saying? I’ve never heard those words before.”
Awakened individuals typically possessed the Translation skill, allowing easy communication with people from other worlds.
However, Cheon Ha-yeon, Estelle, and Liera were not Awakened.
They couldn’t understand each other.
“What is going on…?”
Seung-ah had given up trying to understand and slumped onto the floor.
Even I, who knew the situation, was overwhelmed.
How much more confusing must it be for her? Shin-woo was the weird one here.
As the two women glared at each other, Ha-yeon’s expression darkened.
If a fight broke out, things would spiral out of control.
I extracted myself from Ha-yeon’s comforting embrace and decided to intervene.
“Everyone, stop!!! Listen to me first.”
The word “stop,” proven effective enough for the Department of Education to create instructional videos about it, successfully halted everyone’s actions.
There was a reason even police officers used the “stop” song.
The government wouldn’t waste my tax dollars on something useless.
“I know this is confusing, but please sit down. I’ll answer all your questions. I’ll start with whoever raises their hand first.”
Perhaps it was the wisdom accumulated over 137 years, but I managed to restore order through dialogue and compromise. I wanted to applaud myself.
Estelle raised her hand first.
“Is… is that woman with the black hair the ex-wife you said I couldn’t meet…?”
When she had asked me to take responsibility for her, I had told her I already had a wife.
When she asked to meet her, I said it wasn’t possible at the moment.
Unable to meet Ha-yeon, Estelle had relentlessly pursued me, and I, with no emotional connection to my ex-wife, had fallen for her.
She had poured her heart and soul into winning me over.
Rejecting her, especially after facing the Demon King together and forming a deep bond, was too difficult.
She even threatened to remain single forever and become a virgin ghost if I didn’t accept her feelings.
She essentially forced me into marriage, saying I didn’t want to commit the sacrilege of turning a Saintess into a vengeful spirit.
Her burning passion and love had won me over, and we became husband and wife.
Now, Estelle, my second wife, sought answers. I spoke, answering her question.
“Yes, Ha-yeon was my first wife. We separated because of my… circumstances.”
Estelle lowered her head, dejected.
In contrast, Ha-yeon’s posture straightened, her expression brightening at the confirmation of her status as the first wife.
In the martial world, having multiple wives was common, and the first wife held significant power.
She looked as proud as if she had just secured her position as the head wife.
Then, Ha-yeon raised her hand.
“So, I was the first to marry Yu-won, the first to kiss him, and the first to share his bed?”
Her words were blunt, but true.
In my first life, I hadn’t had the time or energy for relationships, and I awakened and died shortly after gaining some stability.
I nodded in response to her question.
“You were my first in every way, across all my lives.”
She nodded, satisfied.
“Then it’s fine. No matter how many concubines there are, if I was your first in everything… that means I’m the most special.”
I was grateful that the other women didn’t understand her.
If Estelle and Liera had heard her refer to them as concubines, a war would have erupted.
Shin-woo raised his hand. I didn’t want to take his question, but I had to.
“Um… so, it sounds like you’ve lived in multiple worlds, right? The world with the black-haired lady, the world with the green-haired lady, and the world with the red-haired lady.”
Despite his usual jokes, he sometimes displayed surprising insight.
He had pieced together the truth from our conversation.
‘It’s probably fine to tell him.’
In the 16 years I’d known him, he had proven trustworthy.
He wasn’t the type to blab about my secrets.
And even if he did, what was the big deal about being a reincarnator?
Unlike someone who could regress, a mere reincarnator wouldn’t cause a global stir.
If I had stolen some advanced technology from a sci-fi world, it would be different.
But martial arts, aura, and magic were already known to the world.
A reincarnator? Interesting, but so what? That would be the general reaction.
Some scientists or people interested in the unusual might seek me out, but I could easily avoid them.
As a former personal guard of the Heavenly Demon, I was confident in my stealth skills.
I spoke.
“Yeah, I’ve reincarnated four times. This is my last life.”
But I had other concerns.
How would he react to knowing I was a reincarnator? Would he feel uncomfortable knowing his friend had lived for so long?
The thought of our friendship crumbling was frightening.
This was my final life, and the emotions of this life would remain.
Losing my best friend would be devastating. But keeping it a secret forever would have been a greater burden.
“Whoa… but you reincarnated four times and only have three wives? Shouldn’t there be one more?”
‘??’
I was disappointed. I had expected shock, disbelief, accusations of deception.
But his reaction was beyond my expectations.
He was more concerned about the missing wife than the fact that I had reincarnated…
He truly was something else.
“That’s what you’re curious about? Nothing else?”
“No! You got a new wife in every life, so it’s weird that there’s one missing. What else is there to be curious about?”
He was probably trying to be considerate, diverting the conversation to lighter topics. He was a good friend.
“I was single in my first life, so no wife. Happy now?”
I responded playfully.
“Ah… so you used that experience as a stepping stone to get wives in your other lives… I’m so proud of you, my brother.”
He patted my shoulder, a proud grin plastered on his face.
“Forever alone… pfft…”
Annoyed, I lightly punched him in the stomach.
“Oof…”
One down.
Two questioners remained.
Liera, my childhood friend from another world, and Yoo Seung-ah, my childhood friend in this life. Coincidentally, only the childhood friends were left. Liera raised her hand first.
“You… you didn’t get married in this life, did you?”
Liera, my childhood friend and disciple.
A woman who looked stunning with her fiery red hair.
Like her hair color, she was vibrant and… possessive.
I still remembered what happened when I rejected her confession.
She had retreated momentarily, then…
That night, exhausted, I fell into a deep sleep.
She snuck into my room naked, using magic, undressed me, and… well, you get the picture.
She had attempted a yobai.
My emotions were reset, and as a virile man in his 20s, I couldn’t resist the advances of my voluptuous, naked childhood friend.
Coupled with her declaration that she would die if I didn’t accept her, and the fact that I had, unintentionally, taken her virginity, I relented.
We became lovers, and when she established her new kingdom, we married.
She hadn’t been like that as a child. What had I done to change her so drastically? It was unsettling.
I answered my third wife’s question.
“I haven’t married anyone in this life.”
“Then it’s okay…”
What was okay? Knowing she had already forced herself on me once, I was apprehensive about her next move.
‘She wouldn’t try to assault a minor, would she?’
A part of me doubted she cared. I stopped thinking about it; it was too scary.
Finally, Seung-ah raised her hand. What would she ask? She was always quiet, so I doubted she would ask anything too surprising.
I immediately regretted that thought.
“I was your first kiss in this life, right…?”
Since Seung-ah was Awakened, everyone in the room understood her question.
Just as the atmosphere was calming down, another bomb had been dropped.
‘Oh god…’
I couldn’t believe Seung-ah would betray me like this.
There truly was no one to trust in this world.
