    Chapter 48 : Interrogation(1)

    ‘What did he drink?’

Items and potions appearing out of thin air.

And the various pieces of equipment he wore were things rarely seen in the modern era.

Anyone could see it looked like he could use an in-game ‘inventory’.

That’s why Yejin had kept a close eye on the consumables and equipment the man used.

And now that the battle was over, all of the man’s resources, including his items, had long been identified.

It seemed his blue mana potions had run out long ago.

The items covering his body weren’t high-grade, lacking any threatening special abilities.

His staff was a mid-to-high quality, mass-produced item that amplified the efficiency of mana or magi used for magic.

Furthermore, his armor was a flowing robe, likely chosen for anti-magic purposes.

Robes offered high magic defense but had significantly lower physical defense compared to other armor of the same grade.

To a Fighter, a ranged class wearing a robe was merely a target that took damage well.

An opponent she could overwhelmingly defeat even without any equipment or consumables.

That was the extent of the man’s strength before her.

Therefore, Yejin let the man drink the black potion.

She didn’t know what the potion was, but drinking it offered absolutely no chance of escaping this situation.

Yejin was a veteran player who knew the descriptions of every item and piece of equipment in ‘Fantasia Online’.

She was confident she could dominate him in a one-on-one fight even if she handed him the most overpowered equipment she could think of.

His skill in handling summons, his own combat prowess, and his sense were all inferior compared to Hyejin from before.

Giving the Holy Sword Excalibur to a level 1 goblin wouldn’t allow it to use it; it would struggle even to lift it.

That was precisely the level of the man before her.

Even considering he invested many points into psychic skills, which are difficult to use in combat, his basic sense was still pathetic.

He probably had never even properly fought in PvP, let alone basic raids or field bosses within the game.

He likely geared up and leveled by only fighting PvE monsters, those based on field AI.

‘Alright, now let’s see what kind of stunt he pulls…’

Still, judging by his rather grim face, perhaps the potion he drank had some special effect.

As soon as she had that thought, the man, as if waiting, mobilized all his remaining magi and mana to rapidly cast a single skill.

    “…Zombie Summon?”

Along with skeletons, they were the first things that came to mind when thinking of undead, practically the poster children for the ‘undead’

    type monster.

However, despite their prevalence, ‘Zombies’ occupied the absolute lowest tier in ‘Fantasia Online’.

They were representative trash mobs with an average level around 10, constantly preyed upon by their higher-tier counterparts, Ghouls.

“After all that, this is what you do… What a pointless act.”

    “Is it really pointless?”

At the man’s gesture, the summoned zombies began to shamble and gather at one point.

Of course, given that zombies move slower than ordinary people, it took quite a while for them all to assemble, but Yejin decided to

    generously watch his final struggle.

Based on Yejin’s experience fighting many Warlocks, some would gather low-tier summons like this to conjure a high-tier one.

Perhaps this man also had a similar type of skill.

As she predicted, the zombies were soon crushed and mashed together, forming a colossal figure.

Even so, it was just a bulky creature lacking any real substance.

    “A Giant Zombie… It’s been a while.”

The creature created by sacrificing dozens of zombies was none other than a level 60-70 monster, the ‘Giant’s Remains’.

The undead remains of the incredibly rare Giant race.

Of course, being mere corpses, their power fell far short of the Giants’ original strength.

Still, its level was high enough to act as a sort of area boss, killing beginners and newbies hunting zombies or skeletons in the ‘Graveyard’ field

    dungeon.

A level 60-70 monster required at least a mid-tier user to handle, and such users rarely visited the level 10-20 hunting ground like the

    Graveyard, frequented only by newbies.

In short, newbies couldn’t even think of resisting it and had to continue hunting stealthily, hiding as if playing a horror game.

Nevertheless, it also served as a stimulus that prevented repetitive hunting from becoming boring, making it a creature held with mixed

affection in the memories of any long-time ‘Fantasia’ player.

Most importantly, it surprisingly played a significant role in exterminating macro users.

“Not that I plan on going easy on it.”

With a light punch, without even using a skill, the head of the mere double-digit level summon was instantly pulverized.

Being undead, its vitality was tenacious; the headless torso and limbs charged towards Yejin.

However, deeming the attack unworthy of dodging, Yejin pinched her index finger and thumb together.

With a single light flick, the limbs turned to ash one by one and scattered away.

Soon, only the torso remained, spewing black blood from the severed stumps where the limbs and head used to be.

Having demonstrated completely toying with her opponent, Yejin slowly glared at the man, who wore an expression of relief, as if having

    given up on everything.

    “Really, is this the end?”

    The man silently nodded.

She thought that seeing him summon zombies, he might at least attempt the Warlocks’ signature suicide move, [Corpse Explosion], over a

wide area, but perhaps he was just a loser lacking both the courage and pride.

Of course, it was laughable for her, who had lost to her brother, to have such thoughts—but the man before her was that pathetic.

His relieved expression, even when his life hung by a thread, was also irritating.

“You’re boring. If it weren’t for Oppa’s orders to bring you back alive…”

Clicking her tongue a couple of times, Yejin’s fist suddenly struck the man’s solar plexus.

As the man’s consciousness faded after being struck in a fatal spot, a single surviving zombie among those summoned hid itself within the

    ruined cityscape.

Clutching a bottle of white potion hidden within its clothes.

Yerim and Yejin returned with the guy around nine in the morning.

For reasons I still didn’t understand, I had been asleep until then.

And even after waking up, I couldn’t get my head straight, so I had to cast a fatigue recovery buff on myself.

Somehow managing to shake off the sleep and regain my senses, I found myself surrounded by Blue House agents, riding in a large military

    vehicle.

Did they ask for help with the transport and information extraction?

I initially intended to refuse, but I was swayed by the offer of more jewels.

I had resolved to be satisfied with just the fancy mansion and jewels discussed before and not get involved with the government anymore—

but I couldn’t resist when they said, ‘We’ll hand over the entire amethyst vein in Ulsan Metropolitan City if you cooperate with the

    government.’

A quick internet search revealed that the estimated amethyst reserves in the designated mining area alone were 100 million tons.

    You heard that right.

    A genuine 100 million tons.

One hundred million tons of amethyst.

    How could I resist that…

Of course, there were reports that mining in Ulsan had practically ceased after 2005 due to lack of equipment and capital, but who was I?

A member of the great magic-wielding Dragon race.

‘Mining like that should be simple if I use magic carefully…’

A little cooperation with a government agency, a little effort, and a pile of amethyst would materialize.

And it wasn’t even low quality.

An article stated that Ulsan’s amethyst was recognized for its world-class quality by the Gemological Institute of America.

After seeing that, I had no choice.

There was only a docile dragon who had succumbed to the word ‘jewels’ and the capital power of the great Republic of Korea government.

I heard Ulsan amethyst is characterized by its purplish hue mixed with red.

As I happily imagined creating a room filled with purple and red amethyst, we had already arrived at our destination.

    “Where are we?”

“We cannot disclose the location. Of course, if Mr. Gyeoul insists on asking, we would have no choice but to tell you.”

    “Then I won’t ask.”

There was no need to incur the displeasure of the government agents by insisting on knowing the location.

Behind them stood my sponsor, who had readily offered 100 million tons of amethyst.

Although the nation might have deemed the abandoned mine useless due to minimal mining activity, the name ‘100 million tons’ still carried

weight, so I intended to be as agreeable as possible with the government personnel.

Frankly, who knew if more benefits might fall into my lap in the future.

And so, after signing confidentiality agreements and various other documents, I was finally able to sit down in front of the target from whom

    I needed to extract information.
