Chapter 4: True defeat heroine
by AfuhfuihgsLife doesn’t go as one wishes.
Just as I was suddenly transmigrated to another world, anything can happen out of the blue.
After the Hero’s wedding, I was preparing to head to the Blue Magic Tower.
My position is a mage of the Blue Magic Tower.
I was only active as a member of the Hero’s party for a short time; it’s also my duty to teach apprentice mages, help them become proper mages, and create new spells.
My old disciples are there, and a tremendous amount of new research material must have accumulated.
It was while I was packing my bags.
“……Live together?”
Ariina nodded boldly.
And she stared intently at me with sparkling eyes.
‘You’ll let me live with you, right?!’ It was a look filled with desperation.
As if she had already received permission to live together, she had already packed her bags.
Since she was a thief anyway, there wasn’t much to call luggage.
‘Live together?’
I imagine living with Ariina in the Blue Magic Tower.
It would be a mess.
There’s no way that’s possible.
Yesterday, I said we were dating while drunk, but there are more obstacles than I thought.
Bringing an outsider into the Magic Tower is one thing, but I have too much work to do.
Currently, I’ve handed my duties over to Sylvia, the next Tower Master, but I’ve been receiving more and more whining communications about having too much work.
It means my Magic Tower might disintegrate into thin air soon.
I can’t live with her right now.
The conclusion is that living together will be difficult unless I hand over full authority of the Magic Tower to Sylvia later.
And I can barely handle you.
How many times have you showered me with affection today?
“First, I don’t think living together will work.
Living together should be postponed…”
“Oh, really?”
A chilling voice froze my entire body.
Ariina, her face hardened, glared at me with icy eyes.
Her red eyes were dull and lifeless.
She tilted her head.
Her tilting her head with that cold expression was incredibly eerie.
Suddenly, goosebumps erupted all over me.
Did someone turn on the air conditioner?
Or cooling magic?
Magic without mana, that’s a new technology.
“Ain, do you hate living with me?”
“Ah, no.
Hate it?
What a hurtful thing to say…”
Her expression and aura change so quickly, I can’t keep up.
Can’t you just be cute *or* obsessive?
Ariina bit her lip tightly, lowered her gaze, and mumbled something.
Her eyes, completely devoid of life, were fixed on the floor.
“I’ll break into the Blue Magic Tower, and when no one is around, Ain will be…”
“Stop! I’m sorry, let’s live together!”
I shouted the moment I heard the word ‘pounce’.
‘Really?’ Ariina smiled brightly with her usual lively expression.
Her eyes are dead, though.
It’s scary.
“O-Of course we should live together.”
“I thought you had another woman in your heart, Ain.”
“What are you talking about! I’m Ariina…”
My conscience pricked me.
Actually, I liked Ariina, the Knight, the Oracle, and the Saintess.
Ariina tilted her head and asked.
“Ariina? And who else?”
“O-Of course, only Ariina.”
“Right? If there was another b*tch… Hehehe.”
Ariina laughed as if just imagining it brought her joy.
Ariina is surprisingly dense in some ways, but surprisingly perceptive in others.
I can’t deal with her.
It was while I was shaking my head internally.
Whirrrr, the purple crystal ball turned black.
It was a telepathic message from the Magic Tower.
–Aaaah! Ain-niiiiim!–
When a scream came from the crystal ball, both Ariina and I turned our heads in surprise.
There, the mage who was the next Tower Master was screaming.
The screen moved erratically, as if she was being chased by something.
Originally the Hero’s party’s mage, and the defeated heroine…
‘Sylvia?’
A girl wearing a giant conical hat, with frizzy light blue long hair and aqua-blue eyes.
A woman boasting a larger chest than the Saintess… Sylvia, a woman with the qualities of an Archmage.
I was dumbfounded.
Sylvia had a tearful face.
Her face was covered in tears, and I could hear her sniffling.
Her teary-eyed appearance was cuter than I expected.
She grabbed the crystal ball and shook it wildly, whimpering.
–Ain-niiiiim! Why didn’t you answer my crystal ball call yesterdayyyy!–
“Ah, no.
I told you I had the Hero’s wedding yesterday.”
The trouble was that I couldn’t communicate last night because the conversation with Ariina went on for too long while we were drinking.
Sylvia, who was no longer a member of the Hero’s party but had become the next Tower Master, was somehow obsessed with me, her master.
How to put it.
Not a brother complex, nor a mother complex… perhaps a teacher complex.
She let out something akin to a hiccup, ‘Keuk, heuk…’, and looked at me with tear-filled eyes.
Her pleading gaze was incredibly pathetic.
–B-But. *Sniffle*, you said you’d answer…–
Waaah! Sylvia burst into tears.
I was flustered and didn’t know what to do, and Ariina’s face gradually turned cold.
–I endured and waited for your calls until I caught that son of a b*tch Demon King, how long did I waitttt…–
“I-I’m sorry… Instead, I’ll let you do what you want.
Okay?”
–R-Really?–
Sylvia’s eyes widened even as she whimpered at my words.
It was a method I learned to stop her crying, having been by her side since she was an apprentice mage.
The effect was tremendous.
Sylvia mumbled something and then stopped crying.
“……Who’s that big-chested b*tch?”
Startled by the subtly angry voice, I looked to my side.
Ariina ground her teeth with a *kadeuk* sound, her face scrunching up in annoyance.
Sylvia abruptly stopped crying and looked at Ariina with a momentarily blank expression.
A look of disbelief.
–My, my Ain-nim, who is that next to you?–
Her voice was bewildered.
Ariina’s face twisted furiously as she muttered in a chilling voice.
“Huh? My Ain? That big-chested b*tch…!”
Ariina seemed to have snapped, growling at Sylvia.
Sylvia, who had been whimpering just moments before, also glared at Ariina with an icy gaze, as if refusing to be outdone.
They glared at each other so fiercely that it felt as if sparks were flying between them.
I’ve seen Ariina get angry before, but I’ve never seen the usually gentle Sylvia act like this.
She was supposed to be one of my cute disciples.
She had exceptional magical talent, more than anyone else, but was destined to be the unfortunate heroine not chosen by the Hero.
It seems everything, from Ariina to Sylvia, has become incredibly twisted due to my involvement.
Sylvia snorted.
Looking at Ariina with a condescending, arrogant gaze, she spoke in a cold voice.
–Big-chested b*tch? That woman who looks like she’d starve a baby to death…!–
“What? You bastard with nothing to boast about but a mass of fat! Where do you get off saying ‘my Ain’!”
–It’s pitiful that you don’t even have that mass of fat.–
Pfft, Sylvia covered her mouth with her hand and deliberately let out a laugh.
A smug look.
With a relaxed smile, she seemed to be declaring her victory.
Her chest was a complex for Ariina.
It was on the smaller side, or rather, larger than average for a common person, yet for some reason, Ariina was the one with the smallest heart among the Hero’s party.
Ariina’s face flushed completely, as if thoroughly provoked, and she glared at Sylvia.
Her red eyes gleamed with an eerie light.
She folded her arms and grinned a cruel smile.
“Ha! So what if you have that? Ain’s next to me anyway, isn’t he? Should I make Ain lose his virginity right now? Huh?!”
A-No, I was just standing here, why are you doing this to me?
Hmm, if it’s Ariina, it might be worth reconsidering.
Black hair, red eyes.
She’s sexy!
Sylvia glared at Ariina with enraged eyes, gritting her teeth.
–Ain-nim isn’t a dog in heat to give his virginity to someone he doesn’t even love, you know?–
My apologies.
I might actually be a dog in heat.
Well, if you ask me in black-and-white terms whether I love Ariina or not, I’d say I do love her.
But if you ask if I love her enough to give up my virginity, that’s a bit of a stretch.
Besides, I only just agreed to date her yesterday, you know?
Ariina said nothing, merely glaring coldly at Sylvia.
She suddenly pulled me close.
Then, holding me in her arms, she spun around and met my gaze.
Red eyes burning with fury.
I’m screwed.
Her switch has been flipped.
Sylvia, realizing the situation, was horrified.
A desperate voice, ‘Ain-nim! Ain-niiiiim!’, could be heard.
Ariina glanced at Sylvia and smirked.
A victor’s smile is the expression used for moments like this.
She looked at me and mouthed, ‘Sorry’.
And then—
“Mph?!”
She kissed me right in front of Sylvia, as if to show off.
And it wasn’t a peck (a kiss where lips just touch), but a deep, passionate kiss.
My head felt numb.
What’s happening right now?
If it was gentle then, this time it was rough.
–A-Ain-niiiiim?!–
Sylvia screamed, drenched in horror.
