Chapter 145: One Man Army (1)

    Episode 145

The headquarters of the Slaughterhouse Clan, located in the center of the B17 district, was much larger than the Boko Haram headquarters building.

They occupied an entire spacious 15-story building.

The best room in the building was undoubtedly Room 1501, the largest, most luxuriously decorated, and with the most expansive view.

This room was currently being used as the master’s office of the Slaughterhouse Clan.

    “Thanks for coming, everyone. Hahaha!”

Inside the room, Jason, a massive figure, sat on the head seat of a luxurious leather sofa arranged in a U-shape, laughing heartily.

“I never thought you would all come running at my request. I guess I haven’t lived my life in vain! Hahaha!”

    “Hahaha…”

Four men laughed along with him.

They were all leaders of small clans or crews operating within or near the B18 district.

Leading groups of around ten members, they operated in the shadows, carrying out various dirty deeds for Slaughterhouse.

They were practically subcontracted clans of Slaughterhouse.

‘You never thought we would come running? What a load of crap!’

‘If we didn’t show up immediately, you’d remember and find some excuse to give us a hard time…’

‘Everyone knows how you framed the Hardy Clan and handed them over to the Paladins, then seized all their assets, you pig.’

Jason continued speaking to the four men, who were inwardly cursing him despite their smiling faces.

“Thank you for putting everything aside and joining forces with me, for me, for our Slaughterhouse! Seeing your faces makes me forget about losing a few pet monsters! Hahaha!”

Jason’s laughter was the brightest it had been in recent days.

It was understandable, considering that the four men sitting here led clans that were rising stars in the western B district.

In other words, he had gained allies with significant strength, despite their small numbers.

“Grayson, your ‘Black Garden’ Clan has gained quite a reputation recently for assassinating Uber, right?”

Grayson, a cold-looking man sitting across from him on the right, smiled faintly at Jason’s words.

He was the leader of ‘Black Garden,’ a clan specializing in assassinations, and had recently succeeded in assassinating Uber, the second-in-command of the ’69th St. Gangsters,’ the rulers of the B6 district.

They had then openly spread the rumor that they were responsible for the assassination, gaining notoriety throughout the B district.

The Paladins, of course, hadn’t even bothered to investigate, let alone arrest them. Because it was an incident that had occurred in the B district, which they had practically abandoned.

“Well, Oliver’s ‘Blood Squad’ needs no further introduction.”

“Oh, it’s not that big of a deal, brother.”

Oliver, a muscular man sitting across from him on the left, replied humbly.

‘Blood Squad’ was a mercenary clan with a small number of members, but each member possessed firepower that surpassed the average level of the B district.

They were rapidly growing thanks to their exceptional combat abilities, and had recently become the most influential clan in the B16 district after quickly seizing control of the territory left vacant by the previous ruler’s demise.

“I heard you’ve practically absorbed the B16 district? And the Exchange Street is under your control too?”

“It is for now, but other forces are still eyeing it, so it’s hard to say we’ve completely taken over, brother.”

“Then let’s talk later, just the two of us. I’ll help you as much as I can. You got that?”

    “Of course, brother.”

Oliver readily agreed, but his thoughts were different.

‘This bastard is trying to take advantage of the situation again, using the excuse of helping me. No way!’

He had always been subjected to Jason’s tyranny, but he was determined not to let it happen this time.

This was his chance to finally escape Slaughterhouse’s shadow, using the B16 district as his foundation. He couldn’t let this opportunity slip away.

As his eyes burned with determination, Jason was already looking at the other two men and speaking.

“The clans led by Otis and Jack are also growing rapidly these days. They’re definitely strong enough to be of help to our Slaughterhouse!”

    “Haha…”

    “Thank you.”

Jason then looked at everyone and shouted,

“Now that you’re all here to help, let’s join forces and crush those monkeys in the B18 district!

If we succeed in driving out the Boko Haram Clan, I’ll give you all a share of the B18 district!”

    “Oh!”

“We’ll have to work hard. Hahaha…!”

    “We’ll fight with our lives!”

    They all responded with smiles,

but their thoughts were completely different.

‘He’s acting like he’s doing us a favor. We brought our entire clans here, of course you have to give us something!’

‘Do you think we haven’t seen this pig’s tricks before?’

‘Even if he gives us something, it’ll probably be some worthless territory. Stingy little bastard…!’

    **Ring! Ring! Ring!**

Jason’s smartphone, which was on his desk, started ringing.

He checked the caller ID and answered the call, standing up.

    “Yeah. …What?!”

His expression changed to one of shock, and he shouted,

“They’ve already left? Are you sure? …Alright! Hey, are the guys still gathered in the auditorium? …Okay!”

He hung up the phone and said urgently to the four men,

“A large number of enemies just left Slaughterhouse No. 3! They’re heading towards Slaughterhouse No. 4!”

    Everyone’s eyes widened.

If Jason’s words were true, Boko Haram was openly mobilizing their forces to take over the remaining Slaughterhouse slaughterhouses nearby.

“This is our chance! We’ll attack Slaughterhouse No. 3 while it’s empty, before they can take over our other slaughterhouses!

    Follow me!”

Jason shouted and quickly walked towards the door.

The other four men immediately stood up and followed him.

As they were leaving the master’s office, Jason asked them,

“Are all your clan members gathered in the auditorium?”

    “Yes.”

“We’ve gathered all our members in the auditorium for the upcoming alliance announcement.”

    “Good!”

All five clans were already gathered in the auditorium for the alliance announcement.

There was no need to issue a separate summons. They could just go to the auditorium, gather everyone, and head straight to Slaughterhouse No. 3.

    * * *

    A while later,

armored vehicles carrying the so-called “Slaughterhouse Alliance Forces” left the B18 district in a line and headed towards the outskirts.

    – We received a report that the enemy is currently attacking Slaughterhouse No. 4.

Jason’s voice came through the earpieces worn by the executives and team leaders.

    – It takes at least 30 minutes to get from Slaughterhouse No. 3 to Slaughterhouse No. 4, even at full speed. If the enemy doesn’t retreat now, they won’t be able to return to Slaughterhouse No. 3 before we arrive.

So I told the defenders at Slaughterhouse No. 4 to pretend to be losing to buy us some time. If they can hold out for a while, we can take over Slaughterhouse No. 3 with minimal bloodshed.

“Do we have enough troops defending Slaughterhouse No. 4?”

Oliver, the master of the Blood Squad Clan, asked through his earpiece.

    – More than enough! I stationed a quarter of Slaughterhouse’s forces at Slaughterhouse No. 4 and Slaughterhouse No. 5, just in case.

They won’t fall before we arrive! Don’t worry.

“How many are left at Slaughterhouse No. 3?”

    – I’m not sure, but not many. We received a report that some of the troops that remained at Slaughterhouse No. 3 returned to the B18 district.

And the number of troops that moved was quite large. Considering that, and the troops currently attacking Slaughterhouse No. 4…

I don’t think there are more than 20 left.

    “Hmm…”

    – That’s more than enough for the Blood Squad Clan! Don’t you think so? It’s the ‘Blood Squad’ we’re talking about!

Oliver made a wry face at Jason’s words.

    “We’ll do our best.”

    – We’ll be there soon, so get ready! I even brought armored vehicles so you can conserve your mana!

    ‘…’

Oliver, his eyebrow twitching, didn’t answer and looked around.

All 12 members inside the vehicle were from the Blood Squad Clan.

He gritted his teeth as he looked at his subordinates.

‘That pig…! He’s using us as the vanguard to avoid losing his own men…!’

It was obvious that he had deliberately placed all the Blood Squad Clan members at the front to reduce their numbers and weaken their fighting strength during the battle, then use the excuse of protecting them to gradually take control of the B16 district they had captured.

Oliver couldn’t let Jason’s plan succeed.

But he had no other choice.

‘As the first vehicle, we have to fight at the front. We can’t avoid battle without being too obvious.’

So he pondered. How could he protect his clan members as much as possible without incurring Jason’s wrath?

    It was then that,

    **Roar!**

    **Grrr!**

Familiar roars suddenly came from afar, and everyone turned their heads towards the front.

Through the reinforced windows, they saw…

    “Monsters!”

    “Modified monsters! They’re huge!”

Over 20 monsters, almost as large as Slaughterhouse’s pet monsters, were charging towards the armored vehicles.

Oliver activated the microphone on his earpiece and shouted,

“Monsters ahead! Reinforced monsters! Over 20 of them are charging towards us!”

    – What?! What are you talking about?!

    Jason’s incredulous shout followed.

    – Why does the Boko Haram Clan have pet monsters?! They’re a bunch of ignorant fools who don’t even know how to modify monsters!

“I don’t know, but they’re already right in front of us! We need to stop and get out of the vehicles!”

    **Thud!**

    “Gasp!”

    “Whoa!”

The armored vehicle suddenly lurched to the right with a loud thud.

A giant Ogre had rammed into the vehicle with all its might.

    “Get out, quickly!”

All the Blood Squad Clan members jumped out of the back door of the vehicle at Oliver’s shout.

    As Oliver jumped out last,

    **Thud!**

    “Aaaaaargh!”

    **Crash!**

Another thud was heard, followed by the driver’s scream, and the large armored vehicle toppled over.

    – Damn it! Everyone, get out of the vehicles and take them down!

Jason’s shout came through the earpiece, and the armored vehicles following behind stopped simultaneously.

As people started pouring out of the vehicles,

    **Roar!**

Three monsters, including the one that had flipped the armored vehicle, charged towards the Blood Squad Clan members.

    “Everyone, form a circle…!”

Oliver, instinctively trying to form a defensive formation, immediately changed his order.

“No, fall back! Focus on defense and stay safe!”

    “……?”

“Don’t push yourselves! Just pretend to fight and avoid their attacks as much as possible! Got it?!”

His clan members nodded in understanding and slowly retreated.

Oliver and the Blood Squad then pretended to fight desperately, focusing on dodging the monsters’ attacks.

But the Slaughterhouse Clan members fighting the monsters on the other side were different.

    **Thud!**

    “Aaaaaargh!”

“The right side is open! Cover it!”

“Maintain the encirclement! Aim for their legs!”

They were putting all their effort into fighting the monsters, and casualties started to occur.

‘Yeah, this is your fight, so of course you should be the ones suffering losses!’

Oliver thought to himself as he dodged another punch from the reinforced Ogre.

He had no intention of defeating the monster he was facing until the Slaughterhouse Clan members came to help.

    * * *

    Meanwhile,

two men were observing the battlefield through binoculars from atop a watchtower at Slaughterhouse No. 3 in the distance.

They were Kim Jinsung, the leader of Hunter Team 1, and Timbu, the leader of Hunter Team 4.

Kim Jinsung had wanted to stay alone, but Dangote, still not fully trusting him, had ordered Timbu to stay with him.

“…As expected. I knew they would come to loot the place if we pretended to attack Slaughterhouse No. 4.”

“But where did those monsters come from?”

Timbu asked Kim Jinsung, who was muttering to himself, with a puzzled expression.

He couldn’t understand why those reinforced monsters had suddenly appeared in front of Slaughterhouse No. 3.

“Who knows? But that’s not important, is it?”

Kim Jinsung smoothly changed the subject to hide the fact that he had created the monsters with his clone.

“The important thing is that their surprise attack on Slaughterhouse’s main force was thwarted.”

    “That’s true, but…”

“Then all that’s left is to annihilate them.”

Kim Jinsung looked at Timbu and said,

“Bring me ‘that’ thing we prepared.”

“Yes, sir. Bring ‘that’ up here!”

Timbu shouted to his subordinates below.
