Chapter 24: To Those Who Want to be a Streamer, Come to Me (1)

【First time watching Delbung’s stream, and that silver-haired one is f*cking insane ㄷㄷ】

[When Raidel got wrecked by a sniper after taking the Rogue Master, I thought it was a comedy stream.

But then that silver-silver or whatever came on and cleaned everything up.

Didn’t see the Chain Roller stream, but they seem to know their games?]

    • Isn’t that way beyond just knowing games?
    • Their physicals are inhuman. They’re a goddamn beast……
    • Thought they were a one-trick pony stuck on some trash game, but f*ck, they’re better at VR.
    • Their movement is just different. Dodging every bullet—how do you even beat that?
    • ㄴ For real, they just broke the game’s balance all on their ownㅋㅋㅋㅋ

【But is beating a sniper as Rogue Master really that big of a deal?】

[Yeah, they’re good, but it’s a counterpick, no?

If you get close, snipers just get sliced. Of course Rogue Master would win one-on-one.

Plus, if they rush, the sniper can’t even shoot.]

    • Even Raidel lost 5 in a row. The sniper was just too f*cking good.
    • Y’all act like Delbung’s a joke just ’cause they’re Diamond 1. Raidel was good too, but the sniper was just better.
    • ㄴ Maybe Raidel was rusty. Haven’t played Raid & Master in a while?
    • Just go watch the video. The opponent was pro-tier.
    • You clearly didn’t watch it. Even when Raidel pulled out the Knight at the end, they lost.
    • ㄴ Wait, silver-haired pulled out Knight?
    • ㄴ No, silver-haired beat Knight as Rogue master.
    • ㄴ F*ck, brb watching that.
    • ㄴ That bastard’s nuts……. Knight couldn’t do sh*tㅋㅋㅋㅋ

【Who the hell is this Ragnarok guy anyway?】

[From the video, their skills seem pro-level.]

    • Why is a pro smurfing in Diamond?
    • ㄴ Gotta be a smurf account.

    【Pretty sure Ragnarok is actually a pro.】

[There was this old video from a pro event where they did 1v1s with viewers.

The pro gave viewers counterpicks and fought the stronger ones.

That time, it was a pro ADC.

If you watch that video, it’s a similar matchup now.

They picked off the ADC and counterpicked everything.

Counters only mean something when skills are about equal.

If there’s too much of a skill gap, it doesn’t matter. You’ll still lose.]

    • If they were a pro ADC, they probably trained like hell to fight Rogue master and sniper matchups. It’d be weird not to win.
    • Isn’t 1v1 hard though? No support to cover you, even if you block with bullets.
    • ㄴ Just run back to tower, problem solved.
    • Then what’s the deal with silver-silver beating Ragnarok? Are they a pro too?
    • ㄴ No clue. Said it was their first VR game?
    • ㄴ Secret weapon Raidel’s been hiding ㄷㄷㄷㄷ
    • ㄴ Secret weapon my ass.
    • ㄴ Bet they’re gonna start streaming soon.
    • ㄴ Scarier if it is their first time.
    • ㄴ No way that was their first time. That’s gotta be a lie, right?

    【Silver-hair beating the Knight was straight-up legendary.】

[Ragnarok seemed flustered and pulled out Knight, but Silver-hair just wrecked them.

Even if you say they beat Sniper just ’cause of counterpicking, taking down Knight is pure skill. Argue with that, and you’re just wrong.]

    • Forget counters—beating that sniper in the first place takes skill. Ragnarok was pro-tier.

【Didn’t Raidel say they were gonna debut silver-silver?】

[If those two do a collab, their chemistry’s gonna be fire—but won’t the unicorns freak out?

Even if people call her Delbung, she’s still a female streamer. Streaming with a dude is kinda…]

    • She’s a Delbung, but collabing with a guy still feels off.
    • ㄴYeah, totally.

【Still, I’d smash that like button if Silver-hair started streamingㅋㅋㅋㅋ】

[Honestly, not streaming with that kind of skill is a waste……

Raidel knows how to manage a stream. They won’t make it some cringey couple thing.

They’ll probably just play games together.]

    • Forget streaming—shouldn’t they go pro?
    • ㄴTrying pro sounds worth it at least once.
    • ㄴIsn’t pro gamer a bit of a stretch?

【Silver-hair’s good, but wasn’t it all just 1v1s?】

[They’ll probably crush solo queue. Got the mechanics to stomp lanes.

    But pro play’s another level.]

    • Of course they’d crush the pro scene too. That psycho’s blocking bullets with their teeth.
    • ㄴWho the hell blocks bullets with teeth?
    • ㄴYou clearly didn’t watch the stream.

    【Silver-hair’s actually a girl, right?】

[If she’s a cute anime girl, I fully support a collab with Raidel ㄹㅇ]

    • There aren’t many girls who play Raid & Master.
    • ㄴThere are plenty of Hyes. The problem is no one’s good.
    • They all play support…. A girl who’s good at melee champs is legit top 0.1%.

【If Silver-ham’s a girl, all the polar bears are dead that day】

[Girls who are good at melee champs? F*cking sexy. That’s why I love Raidel.]

    • Idiot.
    • Polar bears. Act up. I’ll end you.
    • Stop with the delusions.
    • Honestly, probably just some pot-bellied middle-aged guy…. No way Raidel’s hot……
    • ㄴDon’t red-pill me.

‘Looks like they’re thinking of starting a stream.’

Streamer Raidel. Real name: Kim Ha-yoon.

After glancing around, Kim Ha-yoon pulled out her smartphone.

The map app showed the destination was just five minutes away on foot.

‘Still 40 minutes before the meetup.’

It was super early, but better to be early than late.

Thinking that, she adjusted her outfit.

    ‘Meeting in person’s kinda nerve-wracking.’

The message from silver-silver: What do I need to do to start streaming?

If she wanted to explain things like setup and everything else, doing it in person was best.

So Ha-yoon asked if they could meet offline.

Silver-silver agreed to meet an hour later.

They seemed to think really hard before replying.

    ‘I have to help.’

Ha-yoon made the decision the moment she saw silver-silver’s gameplay yesterday.

    Genius.

How many so-called gaming geniuses had she seen before?

Most went pro and showed performances regular players couldn’t even dream of.

Kim Ha-yoon had admired them too, and somehow ended up making a career out of gaming.

Not quite pro level, but good enough to earn the title of a high-skill streamer.

She’d seen a lot of games and analyzed a lot of gamers.

At least when it came to watching games, she was confident that she was on a different level than average viewers.

‘Never seen talent like that before.’

They say you can spot a promising seed from the sprout.

A lot of pro gamers showed insane performances even from their first games.

    But what silver-silver had shown…

    That was something else entirely.

‘Beating a pro-tier player in a VR game on your first try?’

    Ragnarok.

After losing five times in a row, it became clear.

That person was definitely pro level.

At the very least, they were in training.

Why someone like that was smurfing in Diamond 1, no idea.

But whatever the reason, their skill was the real deal.

A wall that seemed completely insurmountable.

    Silver-silver destroyed that wall.

Whether it was on purpose or not, they tore through it with creativity.

‘Even if I give them the sniper matchup as a counterpick…’

They took down a Knight using Rogue master.

    Ha-yoon remembered yesterday’s game.

Ragnarok, who’d only been playing Sniper, suddenly brought out Knight.

Knight was a bruiser-type champion with solid damage and tankiness.

    A so-called comfort pick.

Unlike the glass-cannon Sniper, Knight had real durability.

And being melee-based, they didn’t lose out even if an assassin got close.

Once the fight started, the tanky Knight should’ve completely overwhelmed the squishy Rogue master.

Basically, Knight was a counterpick to Rogue master.

And it wasn’t like Ragnarok sucked at Knight. They didn’t just pull it out randomly.

If anything, Ragnarok’s Knight was more polished than their Sniper.

It was like Sniper was a side character and Knight was their main.

Flawless swordplay and perfect shield work.

It was like watching a Knight tutorial.

With those physicals added in, it was an impenetrable fortress.

And silver-silver broke through it—with Rogue master.

The deciding factor was their swordplay.

They skipped the usual charge skill and went for a speed boost instead, then used assassin tools to completely dismantle the tanky Knight.

    ‘They broke through the shield.’

Knight’s main strength as a counterpick lay in their massive shield.

That shield was designed to block Rogue master’s daggers.

Normally, while the Rogue master was trying to break the shield, the Knight would’ve sliced them up.

But silver-silver dodged and blocked every swing.

And since shields weren’t unbreakable, the daggers eventually shattered it.

Soon after, Knight’s head hit the floor.

    Then Ragnarok rage-quit.

Maybe losing with a counterpick hit too hard, because they just silently left the match.

    Dominating skill.

If this is how good they are on their first try, what would they be like once they got used to Raid & Master?

‘Can’t let talent like that go to waste.’

Their collab stream had gotten great reactions.

Ha-yoon felt a sense of duty, even as a streamer, not to let a national treasure like that fade away.

‘Still, collabing with a guy comes with risks……’

Walking down the street, Kim Ha-yoon sighed.

Sure, there’s that “virtual couple” fanbase that likes guy-girl streams.

But Raidel’s fandom wasn’t like that.

Their solo gameplay streams were their main content, and they rarely interacted with male streamers.

Most fans liked that about Raidel.

‘Not like I’ve ever dated anyone anyway.’

Zero dating experience throughout her life.

All those years grinding games in a dark room made that happen.

    It’s kinda pathetic, honestly.

But with no time for relationships, she just kept gaming.

Ironically, being forever alone actually helped her image as a streamer.

Male fans don’t usually like it when a female streamer has a boyfriend.

And this was the first time she ever approached a guy.

    Silver-silver collab.

The stream blew up, but not everyone would be happy about it.

‘Well, it’s not like we’re dating or anything.’

Silver-silver’s skills were so exceptional, the risk was worth it.

    Calling it “dominant” wasn’t enough.

As a streamer, it made sense to collaborate with them.

And honestly, as a viewer, Ha-yoon just wanted to see more of that gameplay.

Before she knew it, she was standing outside silver-silver’s apartment.

    “So this is the place.”

A row of college-town studio apartments. Ha-yoon double-checked the address.

It was the same one they’d used when delivering the VR headset. No mistake.

Were they a student at the nearby university?

If they were around the same age, that’d make it easier to connect.

    Ha-yoon rang the bell.

    A moment later—

    Creeeak.

The door opened with a slightly worn-out sound.

    “…Huh.”

And standing there, with a box of spicy chicken in one hand—

Was a girl with silver hair.

A girl with a surprised look on her face.

    Ha-yoon’s pupils quaked.

(TL notes: To clear up any confusion, I should mention that Raidel clearly doesn’t know whether silver hair is a girl or a man so even in the chapters before she refers to silver hair as he or she interchangeably in the heat of the moment. That’s why she refers to silver hair as they in this chapter, however she expects them to be a man and when silver hair opens her door, raidel is surprised to see a woman standing there. That’s all, check out the glossary to clear up any confusion you might have.)
