Chapter Index

    “Ugh…”

When I opened my eyes, what I saw was an unfamiliar ceiling.

The light fixture in the center of the ceiling flickers.

    Are you still tied up?

I tried moving my arms and legs vigorously.

Fortunately, my body was no longer chained to the chair.

But… that doesn’t mean he was released.

A clanking sound every time you move your body.

As I lower my head following the sound, the chain around my neck comes into view.

    “What is this…”

A dog collar tightly fastened around the neck.

The necklace was attached by a chain to a ring fixed to the wall.

I tried my best to get it off.

But since being injected with Hypnos, my mind has been so hazy.

The body is still as soft as it was in the old days when it had just been transformed.

I was gasping for breath and eventually had no choice but to kneel down again.

Footsteps are heard from outside the room.

As the door opens, Misha enters the room.

In her hands she held a tray of steaming stew and water.

    “Here, eat.”

The girl placed the tray right in front of me.

I stare blankly down at the stew.

    It’s suspiciously green.

    Just like Hypnos.

“Do you know what I’m riding here…”

“We took the Hypnos. Just like my sister did for us.”

    Misha told me calmly.

What she means is that if you eat that, you will gradually become dumber.

Hypnos’s effects include calmness and decreased judgment.

And the sleeping time is getting longer.

When calmness and judgment are close to zero, it is fatal to the brain.

You will find yourself increasingly unable to think and will only be able to sleep.

Do you think I would eat it if I knew that fact?

I turned my head away and sat in the corner of the room.

“It would be better to take it plainly.”

    “Why me?”

    “Otherwise…”

Misha’s shadow gradually falls on me.

She pulled another syringe out of her back pocket.

“Because I have no choice but to inject it directly.”

My body trembles at the sharp syringe.

Every time I get a shot, it’s like a page of my memory is erased with an eraser.

I’m so scared that I’ll feel that sensation again.

I crouched down as much as I could, holding my head with both hands.

    “I hate it…”

“You don’t like it? So eat it.”

I crawled obediently to the food.

And then I lie down and scoop up some stew with a spoon.

    Green broth drips down.

I took a little drop of it in my mouth.

A tangy taste lingers in your mouth.

The more I eat, the more sleepy I become.

About halfway through eating, I ended up dropping the spoon.

    Then Misha quickly approached me.

She grabbed me by the back of my neck and injected me with an injection while I was defenseless.

The cold liquid flows through my body again.

I barely managed to grab Misha with trembling hands.

But soon the hand fell limply.

From the beginning, no matter what choice I made, I was going to give myself an injection.

Was he planning to anesthetize me with food containing Hypnos so that I wouldn’t rebel…

All of the Hypnos in the syringe entered my body.

Misha wiped her forehead with the back of her hand.

And then he left me on the cold floor.

As the medicinal effect spreads, your whole body becomes drowsy.

I was barely able to catch my breath, groaning.

    The next day.

Misha smiled and came back into the room.

She holds a wooden box in her hands.

The girl put the box on the floor and knelt down toward me.

And then the strange questions start to arise.

    My head is already hazy…

    “Okay, who am I?”

    “Misha…”

“Who is your sister’s closest friend?”

    A close friend…?

    Of course… Anna and Jeoksaji.

“You seem to have remembered well. Then, do you remember what they look like?”

Are you trying to check if I’ve lost my memory?

I bit my lips hard and glared at the girl.

    Nonsense.

Are you afraid that I might have just lost everything?

    Of course I remember.

Anna had silver hair and black eyes…

    The enemy is…

Red hair and gray eyes… was it?

    “Huh…?”

My lips opened without me knowing.

Misha smiles strangely as she looks into my blank eyes.

    “Hehehe.”

    Misha smiled broadly, seemingly satisfied.

Her long, thin blue eyes sparkle.

“But you still remembered me. I’m so touched.”

The area under my eyes is twitching.

My heart was warmed by the reality that was too hard to believe.

The heat rises up my throat and brings tears to my eyes.

Hot tears flow down my cheeks.

    “Misha… I was wrong.”

    Really?

    You really lost your memory?

    That’s ridiculous…!

    I quickly knelt down.

Only now do I realize the gravity of the situation.

    Misha held my sobbing face.

And I start to put my tears in a small glass bottle.

“Okay, if you want to lose less of your memories, make sure to eat the food I give you. Okay?”

    “Okay…”

    I nodded like crazy.

Then Misha smiled kindly and patted my head.

Soon she starts applying something to both sides of my head that she was stroking.

It feels like a cold, sticky ointment.

Then Misha took something out of a wooden box.

    Are these… wolf ears?

She placed a pair of those ears on the area where the ointment was applied.

“You can never take it off, okay?”

    “…”

“If you take it off, I’ll give you one injection, not three.”

    Injections are scary.

I don’t want to get hit because I’m scared.

    I nodded, saying I understood.

Then Misha smiled happily and gave me just one injection in my neck.

With this weird thing stuck on my head, I can only get one shot!

    I’m so glad.

I held back my sleep, trying not to let the animal ears fall on my head.

Because I told you not to fall.

    Day 3.

I feel like my hearing has improved.

I can hear people’s voices so clearly even from far away.

Someone is talking outside the door.

    Are they both women?

    “Is this the fifth tear?”

    “Yes. I hardly cry anymore.”

“Then this must be the last essence of Angelic Hand.”

    “That’s right.”

    “How is our 10 status?”

    Who is 10?

I closed my eyes and listened to their conversation.

“It’s perfect. Now I even forgot why I was crying.”

    The door opens.

A blonde girl I’ve never seen before enters the room.

She holds a tray in her hand.

A fragrant and delicious smell tickles the tip of my nose.

“Hello, do you know who I am?”

    “I don’t know…”

“My name is Misha. We picked you up when you were lying outside.”

    “I was lying down?”

I looked down at my body with blurry eyes.

There were bruises all over my body.

There are marks on his neck as if something had been stuffed into it.

I scratched the mark with my fingernail.

“Is there anyone who can pick me up?”

    “Can someone pick me up…?”

    “The person closest to you.”

    A close friend.

    No one comes to mind.

    Well then, there isn’t any?

    “There’s no such thing…”

    “What’s your name?”

    “My name…”

    What was my name?

When I racked my brain, only two things came to mind.

    “I don’t know… It’s probably one of the two…”

    “Two?”

“Oh, Siho and Dohyun. It’s definitely one of the two…”

Misha rolled her eyes and nodded.

She shrugs and gives me some subtle advice.

“When I saw it, it looked like a poem?”

“Then I’ll make it a posthumous title.”

    “Yeah, Siho. Are you hungry?”

Misha puts the tray of food on the floor.

The sight of delicious green food brightens my once blurry eyes.

    “Yeah…”

    “Eat a lot.”

I crawled towards the tray as Misha said.

And then he picked up the plate and took a sip of the stew.

    it’s good.

They even gave me such delicious food and saved my life.

I think Misha is a good person.

    A week later.

I opened my eyes to a chilly cold.

When I opened my eyes, the fragrant smell of grass enveloped my whole body.

    Is it in the forest…?

I was lying alone on the dry fallen leaves.

    In short sleeves and shorts.

He lifted up his nose and sniffed.

A familiar smell is detected from afar.

The ears on the head perk up.

I can hear people’s voices from afar.

I carefully made my way through the forest, following the voice.

So the white house caught my eye.

I approach them, avoiding the huge puddles of water.

People are sitting on fluffy looking balls of fur and looking at the wall.

    “Evil.”

As I was approaching them, I hit my head on something.

    How did this happen?

There are clearly people in front of me, but something is blocking them and I can’t get in.

I touched that smooth thing with my hand.

    “Oh my.”

The girl who had been sitting on the fur ball got up from her seat.

She pushed open something that was blocking me.

    “Who are you?”

He shook his head from side to side.

I couldn’t understand what the woman was saying.

“Don’t you know who you are?”

    I still don’t know.

I just blankly stared at her face.

    “You’re a fox…?”

The girl asked in an excited voice.

She came up to me and put her hand on my head as if she was curious.

“You have fox ears on your head.”

I twitch as the girl’s fingers touch my ear.

Embarrassed, I lowered my head and avoided his touch.

“Want to come in? You look really tired.”

The girl opened the transparent membrane completely.

A warm and delicious smell wafts from inside.

    I went inside hesitantly.

It’s clear that we’re standing on the same ground, but unlike outside, it’s warm here.

The ears on his head perked up at the strange sensation.

Another woman sitting on the fur ball glances at me.

Her hair was black and her eyes were red.

    “Why is he like that?”

“Ah, my memory is completely erased.”

“I know that, but did you blow away your intelligence as well?”

The woman asks back with a bewildered expression at the blonde girl’s words.

Somehow her voice is so scary…

“The intelligence is the same, but it’s because they haven’t learned anything. Now, we have to teach them a new lesson.”

The girl wrapped her arms around my shoulders.

The baby smells warm and fragrant.

I sniffed and savored the scent.

And he rubbed her soft cheek with the tip of his nose.

“Ha, that’s funny. Until last week…”

The woman’s red eyes glared at me.

Why are you acting like that… You must hate me…

“Shhh! Let’s only say nice things in front of the child.”

“You said you lost the language anyway.”

“09 seems to be instinctively afraid, so I guess there’s still something left.”

I clung to the girl with my thighs curled up.

Then the girl hugged me even tighter.

“Fox-, I’ll raise you well from now on!”

    The child grabbed my hand.

And then pull it inside the house.

    “I’ll wash you, my fox!”

    “I see.”

The woman looks at the wall again with an annoyed expression.

Inside the wall, small people were moving around.

“How long do I have to hide in the mountains like this, the TV is out…”

“Just hold on a little longer. Just until Mother fully masters Angelic Hand.”

    The girl took me somewhere.

As she opens the door, hot steam pours out through the crack.

I followed her inside without thinking, and the girl closed the door.

And then he looked up at me with his eyes slightly open.

“Okay, then I’ll wash every nook and cranny of your body.”

When the girl presses something, water pours out.

The moment I saw the water, I was so surprised that I took a step back.

For some reason, I really hate water.
