    Let’s Go Receive the Award

When introducing the profession of a hunter, third parties often describe it like this:

    – Isn’t it a job where you earn money beyond the imagination of ordinary people?

    – I’ve heard it’s an extremely dangerous job because you have to fight monsters.

    – In my opinion, it’s no different from being an idol. The reason is when I was in LA…

Unlike the perception of a dangerous job pursuing success…

The opinions of those actually working as hunters were a bit different.

    – Huh? Hunter? Monster suicide attack…

Beyond being dangerous, it’s a job where you go to commit suicide by monsters.

That was the perception of the hunter profession among hunters themselves.

‘What is that… Anyway, that’s why there are many differences from ordinary people in various ways.’

Unlike other jobs that end at the level of being ‘difficult’, as can be seen from the expression ‘going to die’…

In reality, hunters had a significantly higher death rate compared to other professions.

No matter how much they followed safety rules, there were so many variables, and since it was a job that directly risked one’s life, accidents happened quite frequently.

Therefore, the job of a hunter was not only about risking one’s life every time, but also having to watch colleagues die…

It was truly a garbage job.

And Seong Na-yeon was one of the top hunters who had survived for a long time despite having this garbage job.

    *

    ‘Isn’t this just too cute?’

Seong Na-yeon clutched her heart as she watched the two little ones in front of her making “kwang, kwang” sounds.

Already fond of cute things, the impact (?) was particularly strong.

It was unbearable because those cute things were even threatening (with cuteness) her.

As she was melting into a puddle thinking she might really die of happiness,

Chae-a with pink hair came running over and said to her,

“Will you give Ha-eun to Chae-a!?”

Then she put her hands together and held them out politely.

Just as Na-yeon was trying her best to hold back laughter at how cute it was that even a kidnapper was trying to be polite,

Yuna, who was next to her, added with a “kung kung” sound instead of “kwang,”

    “Candy here.”

It seems she was serious about giving candy if Ha-eun and Seo-a were returned.

At those words, Na-yeon absently held out her hand, and Yuna dropped a small candy with her tiny hand before grabbing Ha-eun and Seo-a’s hands and quickly running away.

Their retreating figures were so cute that she was left in a daze before desperately trying to regain her senses.

    ‘Ah… I shouldn’t be like this.’

After all, what’s important now is to ensure Ha-eun and Seo-a can safely return home.

Rather than losing focus, she needed to calm herself down and follow them, but…

She kept losing her grip on reality, feeling strangely happy.

    ‘Get a hold of yourself!’

After slapping her cheek and shaking her head, she forcibly regained her senses.

I smiled softly as I watched the little ones fidgeting in front.

‘I want to have a child, but maybe it feels like an unattainable dream. That’s why I feel more attached to the little ones, including Ha-eun.’

Because hunters never know when they might die.

Most hunters often desired the form of a family that could provide psychological stability.

‘Because of the fear and emptiness of seeing colleagues die beside you, and knowing you could be next at any time.’

Regardless of their desires, most tended to hesitate when it came to marriage.

Of course, there were occasional cases where some would marry without hesitation.

But those were extremely rare, and usually, like myself, they gave up on the idea of marriage early on and just went with the flow like seaweed.

‘Anyway, the important thing is, as long as this situation of not knowing when we’ll die continues.’

Forget having children, even getting married would be impossible.

I smiled bitterly as I looked at Ha-eun, who ranked first (in a vote held in the hunter community) as the child they’d like to have as a daughter.

‘Well, that’s why other hunters are particularly fond of Ha-eun, Chae-a, Yuna, and Seo-a.’

Just as I was seriously considering whether I could give up to 30% of my assets for Ha-eun, if not my entire fortune.

Ha-eun bows deeply and expresses her gratitude.

“Thank you for bringing me here.”

Her appearance was so cute that I wanted to hug her tightly and buy her some candy, but.

Thinking it might be burdensome, I decided to let her go and was waving my hand when.

    “Myamya!”

Seo-a, who was next to Ha-eun, suddenly ran over, grabbed my hand, and struggled to pull me along.

Wondering why she was doing this, I looked down at her.

Seo-a fluttered her hands, expressing something indescribable, then hugged me tightly, said “Kkom!” and ran off.

    That oddly healing sight.

It made me think about wanting to get married.

    * * * * *

I blinked at Seong Na-yeon, who was standing in front with an expression of enlightenment.

Judging by her appearance alone, she looked like a delinquent who would only do terrible things.

But her actual behavior was incredibly gentle.

‘This is why you shouldn’t judge people by their looks…!’

As I was thinking how fascinating it all was and chuckling, just as I was about to calm the other kids and head home.

Chae-a suddenly hugged me tightly and started whimpering.

“Ha-euni disappeared and Chae-a is sad. Don’t run away…! Okay?”

I was a bit taken aback by the mention of running away, but since it was my fault for leaving without a word, I slowly nodded.

Chae-a, happy that I agreed, stopped crying and smiled brightly.

As I was thinking that children’s emotions change so quickly while patting Chae-a’s head.

Seo-a flapped her hands like a penguin and said something.

    “Kkom!”

Hearing Seo-a’s words, Chae-a’s eyes widened in surprise, and she started praising Seo-a profusely.

    “Wow, Seo-a is amazing!”

I wondered what she thought was so amazing.

Thinking Yuna might know, I glanced at her discreetly.

But Yuna was just blinking, seemingly not understanding what Seo-a was saying either.

‘I should read a storybook to Seo-a tonight.’

Then I’ll be able to use more words. We might even be able to have a conversation!

While I was thinking this and stroking Seo-a’s head.

Chae-a, with a very proud look on her face, made a suggestion to us.

“Since we brought back Ha-eun who ran away. Shall we go out now?”

    “Okay.”

I watched Yuna’s back as she wagged her tail and nodded her head vigorously, thinking it was fortunate that everything ended without any problems.

    *

After that, we spent the day going to the playground to play, then having dinner, and reading a storybook to Seo-a before bed.

It was a day that could be described as fulfilling if fulfilling, and busy if busy, so I was feeling a bit proud.

Han A-rin, who came home late, asked us with a very bewildered look.

“Kids… Did you go out without telling me?”

    “Yes.”

At that question, Yuna was surprised and her tail stiffened.

Then she covered her mouth with both hands and trembled.

While I was patting Yuna’s back and telling her it was okay, Han A-rin smiled awkwardly and said to us.

“You should have told me before going out. What if something dangerous happened?”

The first to react to those words was Chae-a.

“Chae-a is an adult, so it’s okay!”

At those words, Han A-rin smiled slightly, then managed her expression and said one thing to Chae-a.

“Chae-a is an adult? Then I guess you can drink coffee too?”

    “What’s coffee…? But Chae-a can drink it!”

“Really? Then shall we let you try some?”

Han A-rin mixed a lot of water into what looked like an Americano.

She handed Chae-a what was literally water with a little coffee mixed in, saying,

“You should only drink a little, okay?”

Since caffeine wasn’t particularly good for her, it seems she diluted the coffee before offering it.

I watched this silently, wondering if Chae-a would be alright.

“Okay! But Chae-a can drink it all…! So it’s fine!”

Chae-a proudly took a sip of the coffee (diluted) and then.

    “Bleh!”

She immediately spit it out and said glumly,

“This tastes like dry sand… It’s not for eating.”

It seems the coffee was so bitter that she compared it to dry sand.

I discreetly offered Chae-a, who still had her tongue sticking out, one of Yuna’s candies that I had received in the underground city.

Chae-a’s expression brightened infinitely as she said to me,

    “Thank you!”

    “Mm-hmm.”

Seeing Chae-a so happy makes me happy too.

As I was thinking it might be good to carry things like candy with me regularly,

Han A-rin picked me up and said something.

“I heard the central government is giving Ha-eun a gift tomorrow? So should we go for a quick visit?”

There’s nothing we need to do anyway, so it shouldn’t be a problem.

I nodded and decided to go, answering that I would.

Han A-rin said something that couldn’t be ignored.

“The elders will be very pleased. Oh, that’s right. They said they all received the letters well.”

Hearing those words, I had a strange feeling.

Well, just like how the last presentation turned into something more like my first birthday party.

I thought this time might be similar…!

‘Or am I wrong? Is it just my imagination?’

There was no guarantee it would be like that this time. Maybe it’s just my misunderstanding.

I thought about it for a while and came to a final conclusion.

‘Anyway, I’m looking forward to it.’

Deciding to look forward to whatever gift I might receive, I hugged my tail.

    *

The next day, Han A-rin woke us up quite early in the morning and said.

“Kids, let’s go to the hair salon.”

I tilted my head in confusion at the mention of a hair salon.

Well, we didn’t go to a hair salon for the last presentation, so I was surprised by the sudden suggestion.

As I nodded to show I understood, I heard something quite shocking.

“Should we give Ha-eun twin tails?”

At the suggestion of that embarrassing hairstyle, I quickly prepared to run away.
