Chapter Index

    Myam!

    Myam!

    Myam!

At the mention of a wolf appearing, I frantically waved my hands.

Well, for Chae-a, Yuna, and Seo-a, the existence of a ‘wolf’ must be terrifying.

I thought it would be better to warn them in advance to reduce that sense of fear.

So I tried to shout urgently and say it was okay, but.

    “Growl!”

    “Kyaaaa!”

Because the wolf’s form appeared with a roar faster than I could speak.

The children jumped in fright and all came towards me, screaming.

    “Ha, Ha-eun has to go.”

    “Chae-a will be eaten…!”

    “Myamya!”

I waved my hand to the children rushing towards me frantically to signal that it was okay, but.

Maybe because they were already gripped by fear, my gesture didn’t work at all, and they just clung to me.

I patted the backs of the children who were clinging to me and trembling, saying it was okay, but.

“No…! We have to run away because it’s dangerous…! If we don’t, a scary wolf will go ‘rawr’ and eat us! It might even bite our cheeks!”

Chae-a tried to persuade me in a somewhat serious voice, then.

Feeling it wasn’t working, she grabbed my hand and headed towards the underground city.

    “…?!”

I repeatedly told Chae-a that it was okay, but.

Chae-a didn’t seem to hear my words at all and just moved quickly, taking care of me, Yuna, and Seo-a, just running away.

    ‘… I don’t know!’

Since in these situations, time usually solves things.

I decided to wait until Chae-a calmed down and just moved my feet diligently for now.

    *

That’s how we arrived at the center of the underground city.

It was a space with buildings slightly larger than Chae-a, specially made for cotton creatures nearby.

The four of us, upon arriving there, were sprawled on the ground panting, then slowly got up and started talking.

“Do you think the monster won’t chase us here?”

“I dunno. The growling monster might just come like this.”

    “Grrr! Grr meow!”

As I listened to their conversation, I thought about what to say but decided to give up.

At first, I thought it would be good to calm them down from running away, but on second thought, this could also be some kind of experience.

‘You need experiences like this to properly escape in dangerous situations.’

Of course, the probability of such situations occurring would be extremely low, but…

Still, as always, it was important to prepare for the unexpected, so I decided to leave them be for now.

‘And above all, it looks fun!’

My tail seemed to agree with me, wagging vigorously back and forth behind me.

As I hugged my tail tightly to calm it down while watching this scene,

Chae-a made a suggestion to us in a serious voice.

“It might follow us…! We need to hide!”

Chae-a was more thorough and showed stronger leadership than I expected.

Just as I was thinking that Chae-a’s abilities were clearly unfolding in this crisis situation,

Yuna raised her tail nervously and nodded her head vigorously.

“That’s right. I think it would be good to climb up to a high place.”

And then, Yuna’s reasonable plan continues!

Yuna pointed to a building slightly larger than the one Chae-a was next to, suggesting we climb up there.

Chae-a’s eyes sparkled as she shouted ‘Yuna smart!’ and agreed to climb.

“Then let’s lift Seo-a first, and then Ha-eun…”

Chae-a seemed to be thinking of lifting us in order of height.

She starts to lift Seo-a up with a grunt.

Watching this, I thought it would be better to combine our strength, so I helped lift Seo-a from the side. With the power of three people, including Yuna, we were able to lift Seo-a without much difficulty.

    “Now it’s Ha-eun’s turn!”

The next in line was me.

I decided to go up first to assess the situation, and with the help of Chae-a and Yuna, I managed to climb up somehow.

    “Yuna, come here too…!”

    “I know.”

Yuna was also able to climb up without much difficulty, but the problem was Chae-a, who was left alone at the bottom.

We tried to pull Chae-a up from the roof, but

we were still lacking in strength. No matter how hard we tried, we couldn’t lift her, so we were in a dilemma wondering what to do.

    ‘What should we do.’

Just as I was seriously contemplating if there was any way,

Seo-a crawled over, and like Chae-a, proudly smiled and said ‘Myam!’

    “Pii!?”

    “Pii!”

    “Beep!”

At those words, numerous cotton creatures nearby rushed over and began to support Chae-a’s back and feet, trying to help her climb up.

Perhaps it was thanks to the combined strength of many.

Unlike before, Chae-a succeeded in climbing onto the roof and smiled triumphantly.

    “Chae-a is here too!”

We welcomed Chae-a with applause at her appearance.

Chae-a seemed very proud that everyone had made it up, and continued to smile as she spoke to us.

“So we just stay here, right?”

“That’s right. We’re safe if we stay here.”

    “Myam-mya.”

Just as I was smiling along at the heartwarming scene.

    We encountered a serious problem.

“But wait. How do we get down from here?”

At Yuna’s words, everyone’s expressions froze.

Well, there was no way to get down at all.

The moment we realized this fact, we peeked down at the ground, blinking our eyes.

“What should we do… We might have to live here forever.”

At Chae-a’s words, the two children except for me froze in place.

Then, with very serious expressions, they began to hold a meeting about how to get out of here.

Curious about what they would say, I silently hugged my tail and watched them with great interest.

Chae-a looked at us and brought up a rather serious topic.

“You know, if we can’t get down from here, we might starve to death…”

At the declaration of starving to death from the start, Yuna and Seo-a’s expressions became serious.

While everything else was fine, it seemed they disliked being hungry, so the two fidgeted with their fingers and came up with various solutions.

Seo-a was the one who started.

Seo-a patted the floor with her palm and said something to us.

    “Myam! Kkum!”

As always, it was impossible to understand what she was saying.

However, her expression was so serious that I could tell she was saying something important.

So I decided to listen to her until the end.

    “Meuyang!”

Unlike me, Chae-a seemed to understand Seo-a’s words, nodding and responding with ‘That’s right!’

When Seo-a finished speaking, Chae-a calmly explained what Seo-a had said.

“She says it’s important not to lose courage…! Like the first pig!”

    The first pig’s courage…?

It seems she’s talking about the Three Little Pigs story, given that she mentioned the first pig…

I was confused because I don’t remember any part in the fairy tale where the first pig was described as having courage.

‘Isn’t it more like recklessness than courage?’

Actually, it didn’t matter much what it was, so I just nodded.

This time, Yuna, with a very serious expression, took out three candies from her pocket and spoke.

“Yuna has this. Ha-eun, Seo-a, and Chae-a unnie ate it.”

Is she saying it’s okay because we have emergency food?

As I look at the candy placed on my palm, I can’t help but giggle.

    Suddenly, Yuna said something shocking.

“But if we eat it all, we might starve to death.”

It’s an incredibly cruel story that if we eat all the food we have, which is only 3 candies, we’ll die of starvation.

Faced with this harsh reality, Chae-a and Seo-a seemed to grasp the gravity of the situation as they chirped and looked down.

    “What should we do…!?”

After pondering for a moment, they seemed to decide it wouldn’t do, and started whining as they called for Seo-rin and Han A-rin.

    “Unnie…!”

    “Save us…!”

    “Myamya!”

At this rate, it looked like it would turn into a crying fest.

I looked at the phone, which was still broadcasting, to request help.

[Kitty-yang- Aw haha the kids are crying hahaha Sorry but it’s so cute I can’t help but laugh ah hahahaha]

[Handpopopo – Hahahaha I think it’s the first time I’ve seen Chae-a call someone ‘unnie’, it’s really cute.]

[Sirungrung- Haha Looks like we need to go save the kids. I want to go.]

Judging by the absence of Seo-rin and Han A-rin’s IDs, it seems they’re quickly making their way here.

Just as I was thinking we’d only need to wait a little longer while patting the little ones’ backs, I spotted someone coming to rescue us from afar.

    “They’re here.”

Someone seemed to be there, and upon checking, Perseus’s figure came into view.

Everyone hesitated for a moment at his unexpected appearance, then spread their arms in a gesture asking to be rescued.

Seeing this, Perseus slowly approached and spoke somewhat playfully.

“Hmm. Every action has its price.”

Who would have thought he’d suddenly talk about payment here.

As I blinked at Perseus, who was abruptly teaching us about the cruelty of the world.

    Perseus briefly spoke to us.

“If you want me to save you, give me a kiss on the cheek.”

    “……”

    That’s a bit.

I shook my head vigorously to indicate my refusal.

Unlike me, Chae-a, Yuna, and Seo-a didn’t seem to mind, still whining and flapping their hands.

    “Let’s save Seo-a first.”

    Perseus carefully picked up Seo-a.

Seo-a then lightly slapped Perseus’s cheek with her palm and said.

    “Myam!”

    “…?”

I’m not sure what it was, but it seems Seo-a confused a slap with a kiss.

Or maybe she didn’t know what a kiss was in the first place.

I was startled by Seo-a’s action and told her that she shouldn’t do that.

Seo-a tilted her head at my words, then hugged Perseus’s face like a face hugger and giggled.

    “Ppyappya kkom!”

Perseus seemed to like Seo-a’s behavior and patted her back.

He reached out to Yuna and Chae-a, telling them to come quickly, and seeing this action, Chae-a hesitantly spoke to Perseus.

“Chae-a doesn’t like hitting people… but do we have to hit to survive?”
