    Shall We Dance?

    Shall We Dance?

    Shall We Dance?

Now that we’ve managed to create the playground that Chae-a and Seo-a wanted, I sensed it was time to make what I wanted.

I’m in a pretty good mood thinking about creating the basement of my dreams.

Wagging both my head and tail simultaneously, which I don’t usually do, I headed towards the place where I decided to make the basement.

    “Ha-eun, are you here?”

“Oh, you’re here. Want another ice cream?”

As I approach, Han A-rin and Spirit User Uncle welcome me.

I bow politely to show my appreciation, and Han A-rin points to a blue line floating on the ground, asking for my opinion.

“How would you like the basement to be? Large? Or cozy? Or maybe separated like a dungeon?”

Hearing this, I fell into thought for a moment.

‘A larger basement would allow for more things and more people to enter, which would be nice, but…’

My idea of a romantic basement was ‘small but cozy, with a hidden passage leading to a secret place’.

Deciding that small would be better than large, I told her I’d like it to be cozy.

“Alright, it won’t take long, so please wait a moment?”

Han A-rin skillfully created and expanded a new space using mana, then took a breath and said to me.

“There, it’s done. Now go inside and tell me if you want to expand or reduce it further.”

    “Yes!”

With those words, Han A-rin carefully picked me up and went downstairs.

    *

Naturally, since it was just a space created by magic as a basement, it was very dark with nothing placed inside.

While I was squinting, unable to gauge the area,

Han A-rin looked at me and playfully suggested with a smile.

“Ha-eun, I think it would be good if you used light magic yourself. Would you like to try?”

I feel perplexed at being asked to use light magic that I haven’t learned yet.

As I fidget with my fingers, wondering if I should just use my phone’s flashlight,

Han A-rin wrote a sky-blue magic formula in front of me and said.

“This is the basic structure of light magic. The magic formula is similar to fire magic, but if you look closely, the structure is different. It’s best to think of it as a completely different magic in practice.”

In the current situation where light was urgently needed, it was quite surprising that she was teaching the basics of light magic.

But Han A-rin’s voice was very serious, and the Spirit User Uncle was waiting silently, so I just nodded.

“The important thing here is the process of creating light. Although it takes the form of fire, it’s actually closer to the form of electric magic…”

    Explanation after explanation follows.

Han A-rin added numerous kind explanations to make it easier for me to understand, revealing each word one by one.

I began to understand the basic structure and gradually learn what light magic was by following along.

After about 10 minutes of continuous explanation,

Han A-rin looked at me and asked one question.

“How about it? Do you think you can create light?”

Just like you can’t instantly create a mechanical device after seeing a blueprint.

I shook my head, as it was difficult to use magic right away just from hearing an explanation.

Han A-rin looked at me and calmly smiled as she began to speak.

“Still, would you like to try? In my experience, when you really need magic, the success rate is higher when you use it. Of course, it’s only that the success rate increases, and it’s normal for the first attempt to fail 99 percent of the time, so don’t be too disappointed if it doesn’t work…”

Before Han A-rin could finish speaking, a sphere with bright light slowly forms above my palm.

I’m blinking in surprise, staring at what I’ve created, even though I made it myself.

The Spirit User Uncle, who was watching from behind, opened his mouth wide and said quietly.

“I should try this with my son too…”

With those words, the surroundings became quiet.

It seems that what I had accomplished was not a common occurrence.

I’m wondering if I should be happy, looking around at everyone’s reactions, when Han A-rin slowly starts to say something.

    “Gen…”

    Gen?

What is she trying to say?

Just as I’m feeling a bit worried and watching for cues, Han A-rin starts shouting something loudly.

“Genius! Our Ha-eun, isn’t she really crazy?! This is amazing…!”

She shouts, reacting similarly to Seo-rin, as if she caught it from her.

There was a minor incident where the Spirit User Uncle next to her flinched greatly due to her loud shouting.

But what’s important now is the fact that I used magic.

As I watch the white sphere appear and disappear repeatedly above my palm.

Seo-rin is vigorously patting my head, looking extremely happy.

She seemed to recall something and started filming me using magic with her phone, then began sending it somewhere.

‘It looks like she’s sending it to the elders.’

As I was blinking, thinking we seemed to have gotten much closer lately, suddenly Han A-rin’s phone started vibrating intensely as if it was about to explode.

Just as I was feeling bewildered, wondering how many people and how many messages one would need to receive for that to happen.

Han A-rin blatantly ignored it and said to me.

“Shall we continue working on making the basement then? Light.”

Han A-rin made the inside very bright as if she had installed lighting fixtures and continued speaking.

“How’s the size? Is it okay?”

    Hearing that, I looked around.

It felt a bit spacious, but once furniture was placed inside, it would become quite cramped, so it was probably right to consider it an appropriate size.

After looking around and pondering, I nodded to signal that it was fine, and Han A-rin smiled brightly and said to me.

“Really? Then should I put up some pillars? Or a corridor?”

Han A-rin seemed to have already predicted that I wanted to make this place a secret base.

She made suggestions fitting for a secret base.

I nodded vigorously and said it was good in response to those suggestions.

“Then if we dig out this side to make it feel like a small lake, it might be more romantic. What do you think, Ha-eun?”

    “I like it!”

“Yeah? Then I’ll use magic to make water flow through it.”

Underground, especially in a narrow space enclosed on all sides, it would normally become very humid when water flows.

However, Han A-rin used humidity control magic to prepare for this, and she looked very proud as she created a small lake.

I was thinking that Han A-rin seemed to enjoy creating my lair more than I did when I heard a ‘beep?’ sound coming from outside.

‘Looks like the Somis have arrived.’

It seemed they had come to investigate the suddenly appeared hole out of curiosity.

I smiled and suggested to Han A-rin that we should bring the Somis in.

    *

When I gestured to the Somis outside, they rushed into my basement en masse.

As you know, since the basement isn’t particularly large, it quickly became packed with no room to step as soon as the numerous Somis entered.

The problem was that there were still many Somis outside, peering in while going ‘beep?’

“If you’re going to invite the Somis, we should probably expand it more?”

    “Yes…!”

“Which direction do you think we should expand?”

Han A-rin seemed to want to reflect my opinions as much as possible when creating the lair.

She asked for my input on every little detail as she began to expand and modify the basement.

Grateful for Han A-rin’s consideration, I expressed my thanks by placing my tail in her other hand as we continued working.

After about an hour of work, the basement’s shape was roughly complete, transformed into a quite impressive space.

    “Wow.”

Even to my eyes, it was a remarkably good view.

As I was smiling, feeling inexplicably proud, the numerous Somis spread across the floor started crying ‘beep!’ and urgently calling for someone.

That sound, continuing like wolves howling, extended even outside.

It succeeded in bringing Seo-a, who was tightly holding Chae-a’s hand, to this place.

    “Myam?”

Seo-a pokes her head in, looking around inside with sparkling eyes.

She seems to like it, wagging her tail proudly.

Chae-a lets out a big exclamation and showers me with praise.

“Woooow! Amazing! This is really cool! Ha-eun, you’re awesome!”

Then she starts jumping up and down.

Soon after, she comes up with an idea.

“Ha-eun, can we grow flowers here too?”

    “Flowers?”

    “Yeah!”

Certainly, if flowers or grass were to grow here, it would be quite pretty.

I nodded to Chae-a, indicating that it would be okay, and Chae-a’s eyes sparkled as she giggled.

    “Then shall we dance?”

She raised her hands, suggesting we dance together like we did to soothe the World Tree before.

I unconsciously raised my hands high to follow Chae-a, my eyes sparkling.

    “Ha-eun will dance too?”

    “…!?”

“Yeah! Ha-eun has to dance too! Okay?”

With Chae-a saying it like that, it would be awkward not to dance now.

Although I’m embarrassed, I nod my head, deciding to dance along, when Yuna and Seo-rin come in from above and say.

“What are you doing here? Oh, are you dancing? Yuna, you go and dance too!”

    “Okay.”

This is how our party of four – me, Chae-a, Yuna, and Seo-a – was formed.

Chae-a seemed very satisfied with everyone gathered like this, nodding proudly and starting to sway her body from side to side.

    “Myam!”

As Chae-a’s dance began, Seo-a, who was next to her, started to shrug her shoulders to dance along.

Seeing this, the Somis couldn’t be outdone and all started swaying their bodies side to side, dancing wildly.
