Honestly, not knowing what kind of power he had and to what extent, I was slightly wary of him, that’s true.

Anyway, I thought they might be monsters from another world that surpass my common sense…

I assumed they must have some hidden power since they were causing all sorts of complex and grandiose troubles. Of course, most of that was my misconception.

“But you were wrong from the eyes you’re wearing. Are your eyes just decorations? Even stray dogs on the street know whether what’s in front of them is prey or predator.”

    “…What?”

“If you still don’t understand, there’s no need for long words. As you said, might makes right. The winner takes all. Do you want to possess this world, me, you foolish monster? Then try to defeat me.”

In one part of my vision, as I taunted him in return, I could see the scene of the site shared by Gabi.

In my opinion, the three strongest individuals who could unite in this country right now are working together desperately to fight his avatar. Clearly, Smalilian, the monster who broke out of seclusion and accumulated power, is a historic monster that surpasses SS-class even with just his avatar.

It was certain that his true self, who had been devouring the energy of wealth overflowing in modern society and increasing his power, was also an unprecedentedly powerful monster in history.

SSS-class that only existed in writing. Or even beyond that.

“How arrogant. Well, I suppose the taming process is necessary. I’ll crush you step by step, break every bone in your body, and make you beg in tears.”

The monster countered my provocation with a laugh, perhaps well aware of his own power.

Unexpectedly, his tastes might be similar to mine.

“You won’t be able to use your precious shadow here!”

The monster launched the first attack. The emitted massive energy wave is simple but powerful.

If it had fallen to the ground, it would have turned everything within a radius of several hundred meters to ashes. I blocked it with my arms crossed as it hit my body.

‘At the very least, it should have turned me into a rag. How cute.’

When she didn’t dodge his strike but blocked it, causing a massive explosion simultaneously. And when she flew at an incredible speed and crashed into the top of a nearby hill with a thunderous sound.

    Smalilian sensed victory.

He had never obtained such strong power before. Moreover, it was no longer possible to find a worthy opponent, and there was enough possibility to become even stronger.

Even he, who had lived for a long time and gained experience, couldn’t contain his excitement.

“I, I am the true ruler. Wail, despair and rage even more!”

He laughed as he looked down at the confused people trapped inside the dome. Soon, some of the city’s citizens began to exhibit strange behavior.

They rolled their eyes and acted violently, losing their reason. The plan was to make people who had been building up inner anger explode with that anger, and then absorb the power that came from it.

Such things happened to tens of thousands of people throughout this vast city.

“Now, offer that power to me.”

With eyes gleaming from under his hood, he grinned and was about to snap his fingers. The moment he snapped his fingers, the rampaging people would burst and die, and he would absorb all their power.

    “Ugh?!”

However, at the moment he was about to snap his fingers, something rushed in and pierced his hand.

Greatly surprised, he turned around and his eyes widened in shock.

    “Impossible! How!”

“That’s quite a strong reaction. Did you think you’d won with just that one hit?”

Smalrilian was shocked to see the steel-thorned whip that had pierced his hand. At the end of that whip, Takilas was smirking, holding the whip and looking completely unscathed.

“Th-that’s impossible. The difference in our power is clear! You couldn’t possibly be this fine after taking that hit!”

    “I’m not exactly fine.”

Gritting his teeth, he glared at the thorn that had pierced his hand. Hearing those words, Takilas showed his arm.

The armband he had been wearing was torn away, revealing pale skin with a red line of blood flowing from a scratch.

“It’s been about 60 years, I think. Since I’ve seen blood flowing from my body like this.”

    “Shut up!!”

The smile twisting her lips was clearly mocking.

Smalrilian, who had thought himself at the peak of his power, couldn’t understand this suddenly unfolding situation.

No, it was impossible to accept. Therefore, with great anger, I didn’t ask any further and once again unleashed my power towards Taquilas.

    “You’re still not enough.”

This time, Taquilas countered that power. Swinging the whip in her hand with all her might, she poured her magic into that single strike, slicing through the air.

The collision of the two attacks created a strong shockwave, and then the power emanating from Taquilas’s whip split Smalrilian’s energy in half and quickly closed the distance towards him.

    “Ugh?! Aaaaargh!”

Flustered, he tried to block that power. Just as she had blocked his power.

However, unable to withstand the strong impact that engulfed his body, he screamed and was thrown back like Taquilas had been earlier, crashing through the glass windows of the building below and becoming embedded inside.

‘This, this can’t be. Me… to be overwhelmed in magical density!’

In the chaotic office where people were screaming, as he barely managed to move his body pierced with glass shards, his mind was filled only with the image of Taquilas.

The biggest shock was being overwhelmed in something he was confident he would never lose in.

“Surprised eyes? Looks like you didn’t expect to be pushed back. You’re too arrogant.”

“Impossible… it’s impossible! No matter how strong you are, Magical Girl Taquilas! You’re just a young girl in her early teens. How could you possibly overcome my magic, created from the negativity of countless people!”

Smalrilian, staggering, gasped at the sight of Taquilas landing gracefully on the building’s outer wall that had been shattered and left gaping by him.

She, on the other hand, merely smiled as if satisfied with his appearance.

“You look terribly upset, but the reason is simple, monster. I know what your source is, and I know what your desires are. They’re certainly cold, heavy, and dark. Too much for a mere magical girl’s level of power to handle.”

    “You, you…”

“It’s just that my power is colder, heavier, and darker. You frog in a well. Did you think you were the true master of evil, feeding on despair and hatred?”

Taquilas, dragging her whip, slowly walked over and lifted her high-heeled foot to press down on his head, which was lying face-down on the floor.

“If you are despair, I am chaos. Despair is nothing more than a dormant component within chaos.”

And bending down, she whispered quietly.

At that moment, Smalilian’s eyes widened in shock and his body flinched greatly. He couldn’t believe his own current state.

‘I, who have finally transcended, am feeling fear!’

The instinctive fear of the weak standing before the strong. The despair that comes from realizing that one is merely an accessory in the face of true darkness.

For a monster, having their desires denied means losing their reason for existence.

“Don’t be ridiculous. I am, I am now the ruler of this land!”

That’s why he had to deny it, even though he knew. Roaring, he shook off Takilas’s foot that was stepping on his head, and escaped through the window, flying up into the sky.

“Power is flowing into me. From the humans!”

Smalilian’s body, caught in a fierce black gust, began to transform gradually. As a last resort, he hastily gathered all the power he could collect from within the dome.

The source of that power was none other than the energy of the Seoul citizens trapped in the dome. It was a temporary measure with a time limit, but for now, he forcibly manipulated people’s emotions to extract and absorb their energy, causing most people to faint from sudden fatigue regardless of where they were.

“Did you see? By toying with the lives of these insect-like humans at will, I have become even stronger. It will surely be different from before.”

“So what exactly are you now?”

“A Demon King. Yes, I am a Demon King. One who can devour even chaos!”

Smalilian, filled with ecstasy, began to laugh. Originally, he had planned to rule over humans by posing as a god, but he changed his mind in the face of this urgent situation.

He decided to become a Demon King who subjugates and rules, rather than a god who is revered.

[I won’t forgive you now. I’ll tear you apart alive, no, I’ll crush you to death]

When his body, enveloped in the black gust, transformed to the size of a huge building, he swung his fist towards Takilas who was looking up at him. He intended to annihilate the entire building along with him.

    [Kha… ha… ack..]

[You are weak and futile, young monster]

However, the moment he threw his punch, his wide grin turned into a gasp as overwhelming pain engulfed him.

That enormous body, save for a small part, was mostly annihilated by a strong shockwave in an instant.

He belatedly realized this fact and was shocked, without even having time to scream.

    “What… on earth… are you…”

[The only condition to become a being that rules over demons is to be stronger than anyone else. Did you think just being evil was enough, you chuunibyou freak? When the weak are evil, they don’t even receive sympathy]

The girl with a pair of large black horns on her head withdrew the black energy swirling around her entire body and smiled, making her faintly glowing red eyes curve.

[I, the victor, am the true Demon King]

And upon hearing her identity, Smalilian truly despaired in this moment.
