    “W-What is this…”

“Why is a magical girl here!”

They were all taken aback. It was a situation they couldn’t have imagined in the first place, and Renée’s aggressive demeanor was too intense.

    As if she was hostile.

“It seems there’s some misunderstanding here, Magical Girl.”

Amidst all this, Oh Hyun-sook smiled at Renée with a much less agitated appearance than the others.

“…Your eyes are full of conviction. Misunderstanding, you say? Do you really think someone like me wouldn’t come looking for you? Are you truly that certain?”

    “Of course.”

Although Renée glared at her, Oh Hyun-sook nodded without hesitation. Renée flinched slightly at this. It was a look of absolute certainty and belief, without even a hint of hesitation.

At least, it wasn’t something done with malicious intent while knowing everything.

“This place is for helping people who are struggling and in need. We all gathered here and find joy in that. It’s our duty to help the weak, right? So… there’s no reason for the leader of a magical girl group that punishes evil to come looking for us.”

Oh Hyun-sook said with a bright smile. However, Renée, seeing this, didn’t smile at all.

“Do you truly believe you are absolute good? Not at all. You have deeply hurt and ignored someone. This is the proof. I can punish you at any time.”

    “Wh-What!”

Rene quietly responded and moved her magic.

People were startled by the colorful magic circles that suddenly appeared all around, aiming at them, and they shrank back even more.

“That’s a lie! We’re people who help others! That can’t be true!”

“If in the process of helping someone, you harmed another, can that truly be called good? No, was that even your original intention?”

To the genuinely shocked Oh Hyun-sook, Rene sighed and gave a small hint. Only then did Oh Hyun-sook’s face harden as if suddenly remembering something.

One incident where the human rights organization Pureureom led several groups to intervene together. The case where they strongly defended a perpetrator who raped and murdered an innocent child, solely because he was disabled.

    “Ha.”

Oh Hyun-sook, who had become somewhat certain after observing Rene’s expression, let out a hollow laugh.

    Seeing this, Rene’s eyes twitched.

“I wondered what this was all about, but it’s just because of that?”

“Just that, you say. Is the pain of the single mother hurt by your actions of no concern to you?”

    “That person was sick!”

Oh Hyun-sook’s face reddened and contorted as she shrieked in response to Rene’s clicking tongue.

“Of course, it was a terribly unfortunate incident. But we had to think outside the norm. What could have been the true cause? The truth was that this society was the problem. Lack of consideration and understanding. People like us have a duty to care for and help such sick individuals.”

“So you’re saying that the fundamental cause of that horrific incident lies in the environment. That the unstable perpetrator bears no guilt. Then the victim was simply caught up in a disaster, is that it?”

“Hmm, do you understand a little now? If you’re going to go around saying you want to help people too, you should know at least this much. If you don’t know, study. You child.”

Oh Hyun-sook answered with a smirk. And Rene read something in her attitude and tone. What was disguised as firm justice and conviction was nothing other than a kind of chosen people mentality that elevated and comforted oneself.

It was an extremely severe chosen people mentality at that.

“…From my perspective, you do not see the essence of all things in the world. You are only the center of your world. Therefore, even the act of helping others is ultimately a kind of self-gratification, like helping yourself.”

    “Wh-what did you say?”

“Moreover, you see yourself as superior while doing this act. Are you satisfied with filling that meager self-esteem with insincerity, pretense, and hypocrisy?”

    “Wh-what are you talking about…”

Rene frowned and spoke harsh words without any restraint. However, those words all pierced to the bone. Oh Hyun-sook, whose legs were trembling without her realizing it, spoke with a shaking voice and a pale face.

“Of course, I don’t care anymore. Even if you have a belief and think it’s right, I won’t say it’s wrong. But the same goes for you. Don’t ignore my justice either. Prove with power what is right.”

“No. This can’t be happening! Jung Manager! Soo-yeon!”

Sharp spears of magical power revealed their pointed ends from the magic circle, all aiming at Oh Hyun-sook.

Finally grasping the unimaginable situation and trembling, she cried out in terror, calling for people around her, but others just watched cautiously and kept their mouths shut.

“This is absurd! Even that crazy Takilas didn’t say anything, who are you to do this! Who are you to do this to me!”

“…Don’t mention that name. It’s not a name that will help you. If she had seen you, you would never have received a clean judgment.”

Shaking her head frantically and pressed against the wall, Oh Hyun-sook, now bursting into tears and crouching down, blurted out whatever came to mind.

But mentioning Takilas’ name to Rene was a big mistake.

Clearly, Takilas wasn’t the type to go out of her way to create trouble. For Takilas, slaughter was just a means to an end.

But the current Rene was different. Based on her own standards, she wouldn’t hesitate even if it meant cruel murder. Because that was the purpose of judgment.

    “Pierce through.”

“I only did the right thing! Please spare… Kueeek!”

Oh Hyun-sook jumped up and screamed when she saw Rene’s finger pointing at her, but there was no mercy in the rushing magical spears.

The spears shattered her body and embedded into the wall, splattering blood.

Oh Hyun-sook, pierced all over her body, collapsed into a gruesome corpse as soon as the spears disappeared, and only then did silent screams erupt.

“Justice and conviction. I’ve only recently realized that these cannot be upheld by mere words spoken thoughtlessly. You would do well to think carefully about this last chance.”

    “Ah, ahhhhh!”

As Renée turned around, people finally began to flee in a frenzy.

    ***

“If others, if the public sees this, they’ll greatly misunderstand. Why did you do such a thing at a time when public opinion is so crucial?! Barging into a normal civic group and killing people! Now you’re undeniably Code Red!”

“As I said, I’m simply realizing my justice with my own power.”

On the rooftop of a nearby building. Renée, blankly looking down at the scene where ambulances and police were rushing in, moved the phone away from her ear as Director Lee Min-hyung’s shouts blared through it.

    “But now is!”

“If you truly care for the people, think carefully. Is your essence about gaining political advantage while dealing with The One Road and the Special Forces? Or is it about saving people?”

Renée silenced Min-hyung with a calm conversation. She couldn’t ignore what she had realized through this incident.

“Chaos and hatred are clearly seeds that this world originally held. They have simply come to fruition. And now a monster that encourages them has appeared.”

She, who was not just a simple magical girl but one who coveted the imperial throne and dreamed of being a ruler governing her people, engraved everything that was happening now in her heart.

A ruler must know all of society’s darkness, its despair, and its hatred.

“Ah, this is really driving me crazy. Of course, it’s not without justification. But… I’m not sure if this is really the right thing to do.”

“There is no right or wrong. So I believe in myself. If others say they have their own ways, they can fight me, subdue me, and convince me.”

“That’s exactly Taquilas’s logic, you know.”

Min-hyung sighed and shook his head. Though his words were complaining, his body was already preparing for a long battle.

“I’ll try to do something. If we shed light on past incidents, we’re not without things to say. After all… you were originally crazy kids.”

He had already made all the political calculations. To an outsider, it might look like a magical girl’s mad rampage, but if the truth is revealed, there would be many citizens who would support Renée’s actions regardless of laws or regulations.

Above all, Renée had already shown such madness as to cut off the limbs of innocent middle school students in the name of judgment.

“So, is that the end of it?”

“There are still many who have been carefully selected. In the end, we’re just continuing what we’ve been doing. Becoming a new justice.”

“Sigh. There’s so much to do. Even Aria’s situation is precarious right now.”

Lee Min-hyung muttered in a voice weary with fatigue as he rubbed his forehead.

It wasn’t just Rene who was about to go berserk.

Even now, in this cruel political arena devoid of blood or tears, they were fiercely biting and tearing at each other, looking for opportunities.

A lone magical girl who jumped in there and burst with anger was also on the verge of crossing the line at any moment.
