“I was going to ask if you’re okay, but it seems you’re not.”

    “…That’s right.”

Through a communication spell that only those who can use magic can utilize, I saw Renée’s face flickering on the screen and smiled bitterly.

Even on her usually expressionless face, deep fatigue was now casting a shadow.

“From what I hear, it seems the fairies are also trying to gather magical girls for something.”

“I don’t expect much. I’m more curious about you guys.”

Renée didn’t bother to read my mood. It was obvious she knew and was confident that I wouldn’t make a move.

“Do you have any plans? For an issue of this scale, it would be better to coordinate our actions.”

“Many magical girls, especially those of Casilena, are greatly angered and feel betrayed by this country’s rulers.”

Renée, now commanding dozens of magical girls, provided me with all the information I wanted.

The magical girls’ perceptions, intentions, and future plans.

Naturally, they were angry at The One Road and the political circles showing signs of cooperating with them. Of course, the older magical girls were holding back, knowing that rash actions could tip the already unstable public opinion.

But the most valuable piece of information I gleaned was about a new magical girl organization.

“Right. It doesn’t make sense that there isn’t even one. Renée, you know too that it would be good to join forces with them now.”

“I know. Because magical girls alone can’t win this fight.”

Renée and I were seeing the same thing.

It was a clear fact that magical girls hiding their identities and operating were ultimately an outlaw group not belonging to this society.

Therefore, magical girls alone could never become mainstream in this society.

“But in the end, they’ll need a justification, achievements to empower them. What do you plan to do about that?”

“I think the best way is to demonstrate our excellence in that area.”

An all-out war was nonsensical from the start. In the end, to compete with The One Road, the only way was to overwhelm them with universally recognized achievements and appeal to the public about the necessity of magical girls.

“The trash hiding in political circles will try to interfere in every way.”

“We’ve prepared for that as well.”

Though there were many issues, Rene continued to answer as if accustomed to it. In times like these, using the privilege of magical girls who are not bound by law became an advantage.

“We’ve formed a special task force in agreement with Frontier, who expressed their willingness to cooperate with us. They will investigate and punish political corruption and backdoor deals without hesitation.”

“I see. Sometimes breaking common sense works well.”

Who could stop magical girls from investigating to judge evil? An investigation that needs no warrants or common sense. The laws and police of this land cannot stop them.

With allies from political backgrounds on the inside, there couldn’t be better hunters for rooting out corrupt politicians.

Unlike the existing magical girls who have only been fighting against noticeable crimes and malice without a particular focus, the enemies probably didn’t even expect this kind of movement.

Moreover, the scary part is that this isn’t the end.

Besides Casilena’s magical girls, others are moving as well.

For example, Aria, the once obedient and good girl from the Management Bureau. She too has been dispatched to a special unit to take down those guys, burning with intense anger.

“Looks interesting, but I can’t join in. I see they’re even thinking of considering the very existence of magical girls illegal. It’s troublesome to shake up the entire country, so you guys handle it well.”

    “I’ll keep that in mind.”

Rene nodded with a determined face.

With this, the real curtain has risen. It’s the beginning of a fight that won’t end unless either the magical girls or The One Road is annihilated.

And surprisingly, the magical girls attempted to strike first.

With a shocking and radical method that the enemies wouldn’t have even thought of, but one that could gain full support from the public if successful.

    “That makes things easier.”

“It’s encouraging that the magical girls have started to respond on their own without the help of fairies. But what do you plan to do then?”

After ending the communication, I yawned and returned to my room. Ren grumbled, seemingly displeased with my behavior.

“Well, maybe something like taking down those guys.”

I looked up at the sky just before entering the building.

Gradually, slowly, the strange atmosphere that began to thicken finally started to tickle my senses. This familiar feeling was certainly the same as during the Mammoth incident. It was a signal that the monsters, having adapted to the environment and accumulated strength, were starting to move in earnest.

    “W-well, that’s important too.”

Ren scratched the back of his head and closed his mouth. Of course, there’s still some time left. Even for monsters, if they’re determined to hide, it won’t be easy for me to find them first.

“So, why are you standing like that?”

    “I wanted to… apologize. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to get irritated.”

In the room I returned to before lights out, Kim Su-jung was waiting for me with a solemn expression and suddenly bowed her head deeply.

    ***

    “What about Taquilas?”

    “Don’t worry. He won’t interfere.”

While I was receiving Kim Su-jung’s apology, who was trying to nuzzle and rub her face against me, I grimaced.

Meanwhile, in a completely different place, there was a tension like the calm before the storm.

“There are no issues with the agreement.”

After finishing the call with her, Renée opened her mouth, addressing everyone in a tone that suggested everything was now settled.

On the middle of a secluded hillside, dozens of people faced each other from the sky and the ground.

It was the first face-to-face meeting between Casilena, led by Renée, and the senior members of Frontier, including Management Bureau Director Lee Min-hyung.

“The targets you provided. We will thoroughly investigate and punish them.”

“Um, I’m saying this to avoid misunderstanding, but you must hand them over to the police. We need to inform the public about their crimes through the media.”

“…I know what kind of war this is. Don’t worry.”

Oh Yun-seo, who flinched unnecessarily at Renée’s words, spoke up, but Renée nodded as if she understood. That nod was an affirmation of an experienced person, steeped in deep experience.

    ‘Just who is this child?’

Although it was revealed through a conversation with Aria that she was 18 years old, the same age as her, Oh Yun-seo couldn’t believe that age at all, seeing Renée’s attitude and behavior.

“Then from now on, we’ll use The One Road to expand our influence while simultaneously investigating the Lee Jong-pil faction that’s trying to eliminate their political opponents. Even if it’s rough and aggressive, if the targets are corrupt politicians with poor public image, the people will actually cheer. The investigation method is…”

    “Head-on collision.”

As Lee Min-hyung attempted to summarize, Aria, who was right next to him, blurted out.

From Aria’s perspective, they were an even bigger enemy than Casilena. Those who try to ruin and destroy the order from within the existing order.

After all, it was because of them that Casilena gained justification.

“Aria. Are you sure that’s okay?!”

    “Of course.”

There was no reason to drag it out and no time, so activities began from the moment of that meeting. Dozens of Magical Girls rushed towards their targets in their own ways.

    Aria was one of them.

Her mascot Lulu was unnecessarily worried about her appearance, which had recently lost its smile.

    “I’m just a little angry, that’s all.”

With a thunderous sound, she kicked off the ground and leaped tens of meters across the air. Just before falling, she released magical power from her legs and used the recoil to start running through the air.

    “Ah, Aria…”

    [3rd Awakening · 3rd Armament Upgrade]

Flame-like magical power surged through her body. Wounded beliefs and the trials to overcome them. That was the catalyst for her to draw out her power once again.

    ‘There it is.’

Aria, who had become a streak of meteor, aimed straight at the office of National Assembly member Jung Chan-hyuk, a loyal dog of the old monster Lee Jong-pil who was about to leave work late, and crashed down ‘without deceleration’.

    “Uh, uwaah!”

    “What’s going on!”

As Aria burst through the windowed office exterior wall, literally exploding it, she saw people in front of her who had turned pale with shock.

    “Magical Girl. Aria!”

Someone among them recognized her by her fiery red hair tied in a single ponytail.

Regardless, Aria quickly scanned the interior of the office.

“What are you doing, you crazy girl! This is a crime! A crime!”

Jung Chan-hyuk, who soon grasped the situation, foamed at the mouth and raised his voice.

The Aria he knew was just a hunting dog cooperating with the Management Bureau. And she was just an 18-year-old girl.

That’s why he naturally treated her like a subordinate. It was arrogance underlying his consciousness.

    “A crime?”

However, contrary to his expectations, Aria smirked and nodded. And simultaneously, the wind from her outstretched fist instantly shattered and crumpled the office door and its frame. So that no one could escape.

    “H-huh…”

“I received information that you guys committed corruption. Stay still. Then I’ll hand you over to the police without anyone getting hurt.”

She walked past Jung Chan-hyuk, who had lost his senses after falling on his backside from the wind that brushed past his ears. Where she was heading was none other than the computer in the congressman’s office.

    “No!!!”

He turned pale the moment he realized it.
